When you met Genya you almost immediately fell for him. You really also really admired Genya.

He was so hard working, logical and a genius he became a Hashira within two months at 14, you felt like such an idiot for taking a year to finish your training then another year to become an official Hashira.

So when you gathered up the courage to confess to him you thought he would look at you blankly and walk away. But instead he smiled and the took your hand into his and said "I feel the same way [Name]". It seemed like time had stopped and you felt so many emotions all at once. Mainly happiness

You were his love, his one and only, his gem and he felt as if you were the only person in the world, who got him. He loved those late night talks where he would sit there with you on his bed and talk to you about his feelings and you would listen to him vent. you would hug him and tell him words of affirmation and comfort and in the end you would make him feel better, no matter how bad the situation was. He listened to you as well and he loved your voice it was soothing even though you were talking about something upsetting, he would get you through it just as you do for him. He would do anything and everything in his power to not lose you it was his worst fear, he hated the fact that you were in the demons slayer corpse it only fed more into his fear. Unfortunately that day came when Ubuyashiki sent you and Giyuu on a mission Giyuu had a terrible gut wrenching feeling like something horrible was going to happen. But since he was going to be with you on this mission he figured he could protect you. So he pushed away this terrible feeling and figured it was just him being paranoid.

It all happened so fast, he didn't even have time to think ,time to realize what happened, you had been slashed at the neck by the vicious demon you both were up against and blood started pouring out immediately. Giyuu screamed at the top of his lungs in horror, he quickly ran to as you fell onto the rough ground. *Oh no..* you thought, your vision started to go in and out and could barley focus, you couldn't speak and every time you did the sound of blood gurgling filled Giyuus ears, your thoughts were a blur and all you could hear was Giyuu crying and hyperventilating. Giyuu took you into his arms crying "No, no, no [Name] no!" He cried as he cradle you in his arms, your blood was soaking his haori, you reached out your hand and placed it softly on his cheek to comfort him. "No [Name] you can't leave me! Please!" He pleaded as he placed his callous hand over yours, his cries and pleads were devastating to you it made you tear up and cry as well.. But you couldn't feel it.. You couldn't feel anything.. Everything was numb. He cried even harder his tears dipping on to you, you tried so hard to fight the overwhelming darkness that was starting to take over you, but you were just to weak and oddly tired and you let go. You were so warm before and now you were so cold and the same bright face that made him smile was now lifeless.

Now he sits there in the green grass in front of your grave, he stares at your name engraved on the headstone wondering "why did I push this feeling down? why couldn't protect them? what did I do wrong to deserve this? why didn't I say something to Ubuyashiki? ... I'm such an idiot... I'm a fucking idiot".

Giyuu stays in bed all day and night only getting up to use the bathroom

He wears the same yukata night and day not bothering to change he just lays there... And thinks it feels like something was weighting down on him keeping him from getting up.

He starts to tear up at the thought of you, then he sobs then cries and hyperventilates so many thoughts and so many memories of you.

All his thoughts pile up on him and it becomes to much for him. The house is so oddly quiet, it feels wrong, like something is missing, you were missing.

Everytime he wakes up he feels like he's going to see your beautiful face under the morning light, but now all he sees is the plain wall.

He wanted you, no he needed you, sometimes it felt like you were on a long mission and were coming back,...but he knew you weren't.

Though the thought of visiting your grave gives him anxiety, overwhelming it's almost scary.

Shinobu, Rengoku and Uzui as well as the rest of the hasiras check up on him but its a almost useless, he doesn't even open the door or make any noise in response.

Shinobu is the one constantly checking up on him she fears that he will do something terrible to himself out of sadness.

She leaves food outside his door and she even sits outside his door talking to him giving him uplifting words, she even talks about you. She loved you, she cared for you and was sad to have found out about your passing, she couldn't lose Giyuu too.

Giyuu wraps himself in the blankets you both once shared and listens, he has thought about doing something terrible to himself but, how would you react? And Shinobu? He couldn't.

While Shinobu did her usual check up she suggested that Giyuu visit you it could bring some closure. He thought about it for a minute, "maybe she's right, I think I'm ready.. " Giyuu quietly said to himself.

He showered and put on his uniform and haori, Shinobu face slightly lit up so finally see him after so many months of mourning, sadness, and confusion as they both walked to your grave Shinobu made conversation about

How some of the hashiras were worried and what they have been doing, every thing felt.. Nice for once.

Now he was standing in front of your grave once again for the first time in months, your grave was beautifully decorated with flowers... It was as beautiful as you in a sense.

He didn't feel anxious or scared he...felt calm. He started talking about how sad he was, his feelings and even cried a little, Shinobu sat beside him and did the same.

At the end of all this he felt happy, and like the weight of the world was lifted off his shoulders, closure was what he needed.

Giyuu would now routinely vist you, he would talk about his day and even ask how yours was, he would bring you offerings like, flowers, food or small gifts. It felt nice, it felt normal, it felt like that emptiness wasn't there anymore. He would usually visit when he didn't have a mission or when something was wrong and he felt like he needed a good talk.

Although you weren't there directly in front of him or speaking to him in you beautiful soft voice, you presence was enough comfort for him.

Life for him will always feel different of course it will, when you where a big part of it. But he learned how to cope and express his emotions in the correct healthly way.

It took a while for him to recover and even more time to accept that it wasn't his fault. you went for a reason, he doesn't know that reason but he does know that you will be waiting for him.

Hashiras x Geisha Reader

ʚ you are a Geisha but people mistake you for being an Oiran ɞ

Geisha : A "Art Person" an entertainer who takes part in traditional singing, dancing and playing samisen along with the ability to make conversations. This is not to be confused with an Oiran (prostitute).
