I stare at the screen for hours, trying to make the words come out, but they won't. I can't compel myself to take a break, because there's this voice screaming at me from the base of my brain...

"You've been told you're a great writer, and you want to be a published author. But all you have to show for it after forty-four years are a dozen crash-and-burn writing projects. When you have the time to write, you don't, for a host of reasons. If you don't have something written by the time you die--which comes closer with every passing day--you've wasted your gifts, you've wasted all the effort people put into educating you, and you've wasted your life. So sit down and WRITE, you worthless piece of shit!"

How do you get past the paralysis caused by the obligation to produce? Is there a way to trick your brain and your body into writing? Or do you just slog on through, no matter how long you have to sit there to get a thousand words a day out?

Perhaps you could try to be kinder to yourself.

I always give myself permission to write or to do nothing at all (staring out of the window or at a wall is okay). After a while spent staring at a wall it's often easier to write.

Remember if you write a page a day -- 300 words -- at the end of a year you'll have a 100,000 word novel.

As a person whose whole branding thing is now sun & stars (my evolution from just fire & knocking out those details ATM.) I had to share my pics of the eclipse. I have a cringy video of the moments it happened, but I'm kinda shy about it getting out. (I scream & yell a lot. 😅) Here are my pics, though.

I'm from the Quebec, Montreal area & and the skies were super clear for the viewing at 3pm EST. The shots were taken with my (and my SO's) Samsung Androids at x30 magnification, so sorry for the grainyness.

Persona 5: Maruki the Councillor REVERSED

Some part of me wishes for Maruki's reality. A world where pain does not exist, but then again, can we truly value the things we never fear of losing? Food for thought.

Someone on Deviant Art made me think of the fact that Maruki IS technically a Palace Ruler & since I added so much of Royal into the Minor Arcana, it felt wrong not to include him. I might revisit this later, but I like this so far. (Maybe I'll make those veins/tubes thicker if I do edit this & though it is an edit, maybe I'll fix up the posture too. We'll see later when it's time for quality control.) I'll be working on convention merch in the next 2 weeks for #animeottawa so I'll be dropping some new stuff as I finish them.

Just letting you guys know that I AM still working on this!

I just decided to make the BG/Suit symbols before I start on each individual card. Just the Swords & Florals left! Here's a video explaining what I've been up to & also talking about this year's convention season. ^^

All the Sword suits will be themed to 🛸Okumura's Palace🛸 Tarot de Marseilles inspiration next for comparison.

A bit different than the usual shadow I put in this card, I chose the middle worker robots because (a side from the girls in Kamosida's Palace) they are representative of the "true" servants of Okumura. With the reading of this card that talks about devotedly action oriented (but prone to burn out & restless) people, it felt right to add this shadow.

Only 3 face cards left!

Persona 3 Reload Fool Card

I just wanted to make a version of the fool card for Makoto in honor of P3R! It's a bit late & had to be done a bit quickly, but that's fine. ^^ If anyone is in hopes I do a P3/P4 deck, just know that although it's not an impossibility, it won't happen until the P5 deck is complete & until I take a bit of time to ACTUALLY PLAY the games. lol. I have P3R now so hopefully that may spark something but I do need to branch out into my other interests too. ^^

P5 is fun & richer because I knew so much about it. So I can hopefully put that same level of quality to any future decks for those reasons. Also, I want to make a few playing cards again. ^^
