id say the colonies work more like old working villages than the clans do in the books, there are many many roles and jobs and new ones get invented pretty often! every colony does have key roles though, Helms, Navigators, Herbalists, Officers, Cheif Officers, Hunters, Avines and Queens.

Heres a page on Helms

Navigators are your typical med cat and herbalists are sort of like nurses, they also do more of the sciencey work. Navigators are believed to be a sort of vessel for the god their colony follows, this is why only the Helm and the Navigators are allowed to bury the dead.

Heres more about burying:

Officers are pretty much just soldiers, wars do not break out often and cats are allowed to mingle in other clans (again more like villages) however during conflict cats from opposing colonies are of course not treated so warmly. Cheif officers are like deputies and tend to lead mostly the Officers, the Helm directs everyone else.

Hunters are one of the roles that have many jobs within it depending on your colony, some train to exclusively catch fish and some train exclusively for birds, others may train for a different aspect of hunting like teaching. Speaking of teaching, every cat studying or striving for a job is called a Cadet.

Avines weave tools, again many pathways with this one.

and Queens raise young, however unlike the books the Queen can be a job title, like working in an orphanage.

Theres much more but this post would go on forever haha, as for the characters i will certainly reveal more about their stories once i get some of my animating juice back

to add, the passage is a little out of date and i decided Littlelily would of actually accidentally caused the death of another cat. Because the other cat died before actually contracting rabies there was obviously no lead to what happened for a very long time, people assumed Littlelily had simply gone crazy.

Bellbloom became Lilys only friend as she grew up with her, just naturally falling away from the others, because of this nobody apart from Lilys parents and Bellbloom actually mourned her. Everyone else was too busy gossiping about how this sweet cat had suddenly turned crazy. Lilys parents were old and naturally passed so eventually Bellbloom was the only cat that had kept Lilys memory alive in a good light. It was extremely hard for her to be surrounded by all of this gossip and news.

People would pay respects to the cat Lily killed, obviously, and eventually Lilys grave was left bare and forgotten, even looked at with distaste. Bellbloom thought everyone that did that was horrible and unforgivable but eventually she had to come to terms with the fact that they were justified, even if Bellbloom didnt want to believe it

this is corkscrew and he is my world and i love him

he works as a cowboy obviously and hes homeless so he sleeps in the bar thanks to his boyfriend ,the bar owner, Bordeaux. They started talking more and more when Bordeaux bought him a bag of fancy horse treats for his favorite horse at the ranch after Corkscrew was talking about being unable to afford them.

he always acts tough and tidy, collar always done up and shirt always tucked in, but in reality hes having a pretty rough time 9 out of 10 times.
