This might open up an old wound, but if you could would you revive Khaenri'ah? And more specifically do you ever visit the ruins? You don't have to do of course, and even if you did...I can't imagine of how I'd feel visiting. There's so much that we left behind in our travels, so much pain in our memory that we'd like to never repeat. But you see...there are people who remember it too, and maybe, one day, it''ll get a chance to remember us as well.

Ah, no, thankyou for your questions I will answer both as best as I can.

Reviving Khaenri'ah...I suppose at the end of the day, it would depend on the cost. In truth, I yearn for things to go back to the way they were, but there would inevitably be heavy price for such a miracle...so I am content to carry my nations legacy on my shoulders...

Now as to your question regarding the ruins, obviously when hunting the abyss, I am forced back into the remains of my homeland, I always try not to stay long...the place is essentially a mass grave, it leaves a sense of...unease I suppose, whenever I go back there. Not to mention, the place is swarming with all sorts of abyssal constructs, not a good idea to be there long, even with my experience in battle.

Thankyou for your kind words of sympathy friend, you're right, such memories are painful, but I have to keep striding forwards and believing in the future...those memories give me drive, enough for my to continue pushing forwards, in a way I am thankful...

Xiao is a guardian of humans, and he can only assume that if you're encased in crystal like this...some dangerous being mist have something to do with this.

The dice clanged on the table, the blonde smiled triumphantly.

You turned around.

"Rei I..."

And then your legs gave way, vision blurring as a muffled voice called out to you, a hand gripped tighly to you arm, preventing your sudden descent

A supportive hand against your head was the last thing you felt before your vision gave out completely, sending you into the darkness of slumber.

And it was the quiet clinking of china that first hit your ears as you woke up, a gentle hum reasonated around you as you slowly opened up your eyes to the familiar dingy ceiling of your dorm room.

The gambling match

You shot your head up as memories of how you got here flooded back to you, the headache, the pain-fueled frustration you thought you could only satiate through distractions, leading you to a fools gamble with none other than the queen herself.

"Augh-" You groaned, flinching slightly as you felt the throbbing in your head and the hoarseness in your throat return. A gentle hand stroked you met the gaze of your significant other.

"Rei I-"

They shushed you, hand guiding you head back to the pillow "Lie still." They instructed gently. "I'm preparing you a herbal remedy, it may help with the sore throat, but you'll need rest if you want to be rid of that headache, dearest."

You nodded, complying with your lovers request as they flashed you a reassuring gaze before returning to their work.

Lips twitched into a smile as you watched them from the bed, focusing on their delicate hands...so expertly preparing the tea just how you wanted it, they way they were almost completely discreet about slipping some extra sugar in their own cup.

A shaky sigh left your lips, your mind wandering back to the gambling match of this morning, the feeling of nervousness filled your head. How many losses was it again? 10? 20? You honestly couldn't tell..

"I'm guessing I lost?" You asked, struggling to cover the disappointment in your head as you let out a few dry coughs.

"The dice were weighted, so that match was called off, you should get everything you lost back." They replied, taking a sip of their tea as they spoke.

"Do I need to guess who exposed them?" You mumbled outloud as Rei chuckled mischievously in response, making their way over to your bedside, hot tea in hand. "Actually it was Yumeko who sensed something was off, I only showed up to help you."

"My hero," You teased, prompting a light giggle from both of you.

"Even so, I trust you won't be making mistakes, such as gambling with those two in the future" Your lover scolded, meeting you with a slightly piercing haze as they held out a cup for you.

You coughed again, reaching out of the cup as you cursed the dryness in your throat. "I know, I know...for now"

Rei let out a slight exhale of amusement, rolling their eyes at your keen recklessness as they approached you with a teacup in hand, placing it on the table beside your bed.

"M'sorry..." You muttered, breaking the silence with a quiet sniffle as you attempted to sit yourself up, grabbing clumsily at tea as your took a sip of the warm liquid. "I must've worried you when a fell unconscious, huh?"

It was Rei's turn to let out a somewhat breathy chuckle as they turned their gaze away from you as if somewhat guilty.

"Well, it's certainly better than having my dear Y/N continue to overwork themselves while they're sick...but I do wish I had gotten there sooner...not that I mind carryingyou of course."

You placed you tea down beside you and laughed at your lovers statement, and they returned your amused smile, a slight sense of relief present in their gaze.

"Well, the good news is it seems your fever has died down a tad, but I would still rather you stay here than overexert yourself again..."

You nodded, collapsing on the bed as you let out a shaky cough, cursing as the painful dryness in your throat returned as Rei handed you your tea.

"Shall I get you anything? Some pain killers perhaps?"

You shook your head

"Can you...stay with me?" You pleaded between concurrent coughs and splutters, eyeing your lover with a desperate gaze as you reached out for their embrace.

Slowly, they approached the bed, sitting down next to your resting form as they brushed stray strand of hair out of your face, taking the now finished cup of herbal tea and moving it out of sight.

"Of course," An affectionate kiss is pressed to your forehead. "Now rest for me, okay dear?"

You stay like that for a moment, a brief moment as you hesitantly chew your bottom lip, acknowledging the harsh reality of your current obligations

"Itto it's...7am in the morning" You spoke, your body betraying your words as your reached a hand up to touch his cheek, your mind pleading for you to stay in bed for another few hours.

"S'cold without you...now c'mon.."He replied, lightly tugging at your arm as you stood with little resistance, hesitantly followingyour partener back to the comfort of your shared bedroom. "We oni can barely get through winters without our heatsources..."

You chuckled lightly, rolling your eyes as you dramatically feigned offence, "Is that all I am to you, dear?"

"Wha no I-of course not-you're just...really hot...like temperature wise butIsupposealsolikepersonalitywiseanduh-" Before the Oni could continue to stumble through his words you pressed a soft kiss to his lips...effectively silencing him.

He smiled, not as he usually does...this one was reserved for reserved for you and your eyes only, the kind of soft smile that melts your heart whenever you see it, prompting your own, worrisome expression to soften in response.

Taking this opportunity, your boyfriend slowly pulls the both of you into bed, the comfort of the covers over the both of you a welcome protection from the unwelcome chill present throughout the house.

You rolled your eyes, playfully resting your head on your lovers shoulder as the silved haired oni again encased you in his embrace your muscels relaxing as he did so.

It hurt, that unsilencing realisation that this was not forever, that probably in the next hour, you'd be braving the storms alone, probably for next few days too. But at the same time it was nice in the present, to be so peaceful in the moment with your lover who was otherwise a reputable mayhem-causing menace...this moment was for you...yet it was only a moment...

"We'll need to get up eventually..." You muttered sadly. "We both have stuff to do today...I've got commissions...you have to track down that oni-

"Not now.." He responds, his arms tightening around you somewhat desperately. "I...I know we have responsibilities but...can we just forget about it for now."

You sigh, instantly recigonising the emotion laced within his words, you'd be lying to say you didn't feel the same...that desperate longing for the touch of another, a heart-gripping lonliness that constantly plagued your mind, to the point where even fleeting moments such as this were...addicting.

"Just hold me..." You pleaded to him "Hold me and don't let go until I say...even then...I-"

"I am. And I will Y/N" He said firmly, his voice, like the stone he could wield, putting your mind at ease.

One hand took yours, the other drew circles in your back, causing you to exhale sharply as he placed comfort kisses to your forehead. You smiled.

Slowly allowing yourself to rise your head from this position, upur eyes met his amber orbs, no words needed to convey your affections for each other.

However just to affirm it, you muttered a quick "I love you," as you pressed a kiss to his nose before snuggling into his chest, accepting the warmth of sleep as you felt fingers softly running through your hair.

KOKOMI is always a renowned strategist, keeping herself prepared for everything, therefore her first instinct when she sees you upset is to try and analyze the situation, identify what is wrong and come up with a solution...thankfully her calming demeanor and soft voice make this an oddly soothing experince, soon, you forget why you were even so worked up in the first place.

Despite being a renowned general GOROU is a chronic sweetheart, the second he sees you looking down he's by you side with comforting words of support, ecouragement and plenty of hugs (if you want them).

If you need to escape from it all, RAIDEN EI herself might be more than happy to let you into her plane of Euthymia, there she is more than willing to offer you a form of respite, allowing you to lay your head on her lap and speak of your corncerns. It makes her feel...fulfilled that you are safe and willing to confide in her.

Whilst YAE MIKO may seem rather cold, when she finds you the virge of a breakdown she is quick to whisk you away to a reasonably isolated place near the shrine, allowing you to vent about your feelings as she quietly strokes your hair, eventually allowing you to fall asleep on her shoulder.

ITTO'S usual immature persona drops the second he sees you upset, within an instant, he is quiet as he allows your pains and wounds to be heard, vaildation is the first thing he can think to offer in a time like this

As a performer, YUNJIN is an expert at making others happy, and you realise this as she carefully takes your hand in hers, slowly singing an ancient lullaby as you allow your tears to fall

Of all people, SCARAMOUCHE is the last person you'd expect to silently lend you his shoulder as he holds back tears from his own emotions he can't yet comprehend, but if you're close to him, he can't exactly pretend he doesn't care.

SHENHE is not as good with her words, instead, she makes an attempt to display her support with physical affection, whilst her actions may be...somewhat awkard, there is a genuine sense of heartwarming kindness behind them

BAIZHU understands those dark feelings of pain and despair, both from his own experience as a pharmacist and as a caretaker, so he's ready and willing to listen to your needs and act accordingly when he sees you stumble into his shop an emotional wreck, and no, he won't let you leave until you're better.
