Decorations
Fandom: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Pairing: Senator Vreenak x fem!Reader Words: 1.2K Summary: Vreenak knows a lot about humanity and their sentiment towards certain traditions. That didn't prevent him from being surprised when comming home to a newly styled house A/N: Not completely satisfied with this one, but it won't get better

WINTER WRITING PLAN
Tumblr media
Vreenak was not sure whether to feel amused or sceptical.
Of course he knew why she did what she did, after all he was not stupid or simple-minded. Vreenak was aware of the human tradition, which to his knowledge was celebrated in many, although not all, cultures on Earth at this time of year.
He was also quite aware that people who celebrated this festival tended to become incredibly joyful and emotional. They started seeing friends and family, even if they hadn't seen them since the last festival, and bought loads of unnecessary things that they would pack away after a month anyway.
And in addition, he was quite aware of people's tendency to decorate their dwellings unnecessarily and load them with rubbish.
He was aware of all this, but nevertheless he had not been prepared to come home that evening and find the house in such a state.
As soon as he opened the door, his entrance hall greeted him, dressed in dozens of twinkling fairy lights. After setting down his bag and taking off his coat, he let his gaze slide with scepticism over his wife's handiwork.
The aforementioned fairy lights stretched throughout the entrance hall, over railings and door frames, up to the ceiling, which was several metres above Vreenak's head. Also on the ceiling were colourful spheres and greenery, the branches of which were tied together with careful red bows.
Whether he liked it or not, Vreenak had to admire his wife's willpower and stubbornness in putting the decorations up there on the ceiling. He knew from his own experience how difficult it was to get to the ceiling.
Nevertheless, he still wasn't quite sure what to make of the display.
Sounds from the lounge caught his attention and on silent soles he slipped through the corridors of her dwelling until he arrived at the doorway to their lounge.
A slight smile crept onto his face at the sight.
On the floor, surrounded by boxes of various sizes, squatted his wife, her brow furrowed as she concentrated on untangling the string of fairy lights in her hands. Scattered on the floor around her were baubles of various colours, more fairy lights, the green branches he had already noticed in the entrance hall, and various wooden figures, which seemed bizarre to him.
Some of them he could still understand, for example the one that was probably supposed to represent a snowflake.
However, Vreenak was not sure who the blond wooden figure in the white dress and with wings was supposed to represent.
He had seen this representation several times before, but had never shown enough interest in it, to search for the answer.
The most striking thing, however, was the huge wreath of branches that stood on the table. There were four red candles on it, and here too he could make out the already familiar balls and cones. Even if he couldn't quite make sense of it.
"Damn thing," she growled, tugging briefly at the string of lights. "You'd think in the 24th century we'd have strings of lights that would be easier to untangle, but no-" A curse escaped her, causing Vreenak's eyebrows to shoot up. "Half an hour I've been fighting you you bastard and it's no use."
Quietly, Vreenak approached her and put his hands on her shoulders. "Well, well, I haven't seen you so dedicated in a long time, e'lev." As soon as his hands came into contact with her shoulder and his voice reached her ear, she flinched and wheeled around to face him, her eyes wide with shock.
"Oh heavens, Vreenak! Don't scare me like that!" He chuckled in amusement and pressed a kiss to the back of her neck just below her ear and could feel a shudder rush through her.
"You're getting inattentive, wife." He ran a hand through her hair. "You must be careful. Otherwise someone might hurt you." She leaned back and he could feel the smile on her face.
"That's what I married you for, isn't it?"
"And I thought it was because of my irresistible charm and good looks."
"If anything, it's for your power and money," she returned with a laugh before turning slightly sideways and pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"I didn't expect you to be home so early. I had hopes that maybe I'd be done decorating by the time you arrived. "A sigh. "Well, most of it down here is done."
Vreenak settled on the floor and pulled her into his arms so that his chest was pressed against her back and buried his nose in her neck. "And may I know the reason for which you so adorn our home, e'lev?" Her hands wandered back to the string of lights.
"I don't think I need to explain to you what Christmas is."
"No, but it doesn't explain the state of our home."
Playfully, she slapped his arm. "Oh please, don't act dumber than you are. I was trying to get into the Christmas spirit. On Romulus, Christmas just isn't that sought after due to the absence of other humans. I was just craving something typically Christmassy." She sighed and traced the lines on his palm with her fingertips, causing a shiver to run through him.
"But perhaps I should have asked you first, e'lev. Forgive me."
Vreenak clicked his tongue. "Nonsense. You are my wife and as much lady of the house as I am lord of this house. To be more accurate, the house is probably even more yours than mine, considering how much time you spend here." He pressed a kiss to her neck and she chuckled softly, bringing a smile to Vreenak's lips. He couldn't stand it when she was sad.
"If it makes my wife happy, she may put up as many decorations in this house as she likes." A glow spread across her face and she turned, but Vreenak raised an admonishing finger.
"However, I have one condition. We will not put a tree in our house." A sigh escaped her, however, she nodded in agreement. "Very well. We will just have to settle for these." She took one of the small twigs in her hand and waved it in the air.
"Tell me, my dear husband, are you aware of the tradition of these twigs? What happens if you stand among them with a person?"
He shook his head silently and leaned back a little when he saw the mischievous smile on her lips. "Well then, allow me a demonstration."
Silently, Vreenak smiled to himself as his hand moved to her neck while her lips caressed his. Of course he was aware of this tradition.
"I would like to call it a day," she murmured, "however, I still have to finish my fight with this string of lights." He smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"Then I wish you good luck, my wife. I am aware that you can fight your battles alone, allow me to get you some refreshment. Kali-fal, perhaps?"
Agreeing, she nodded and Vreenak rose before bowing playfully. "I will return shortly, Ihhei." Her laughter followed him into the kitchen and he could not hide his own smile.
Truly, he would be able to tollerate this bit of decoration if it put his wife in such high spirits.
And perhaps, he thought, as his thoughts returned to the green branches, not all decorations were so awful.

H O L Y F U C K ? ? ? Girl you need to chill, I barely survived this one, all of them AT. ONCE. yup I'm saving this one for later lol
Compromise
This is it! The final installment of the SoC Challenge! 🥳 I know it's been a wild ride, but thank you so much to everyone who stuck with me through all this chaos! All of your encouragement and kind words have really been so uplifting, and I couldn't have made it through without you, my gentle readers!
So, a little context: this is an AU version of my OC, Kollos, when he was still a Minister of the High Command. This is not connected to any other story about him that I have written/will write. This is set in the ST:ENT part of the timeline prior to the incident with the Kir'Shara, and from what I gathered, there are somewhere between five and seven members of the High Command (four to six Ministers, plus one Administrator). That number could be incorrect, but from watching the show/scrolling through Memory Alpha casting info, this was the impression given. Anyway, enjoy this final installment of the 2023 SoC! Thanks for dropping by!

Apprenticeships like this were practically unheard of. A Human student being allowed to train under a Vulcan scientist at the most prestigious academy on all of Vulcan was a first. I could hardly believe that out of all the applicants for the position, I'd been one of the three selected for this honor.
For two years, I lived and worked at the Vulcan Science Academy. T'Van, the Professor with whom I'd been studying and working, had been reluctant to participate in the program when he found out that he'd be paired with a Human student. As time passed, however, I'd proven myself to be intelligent and dedicated to my work.
T'Van pulled me aside a couple of months before I was scheduled to return to Earth to express his concerns.
"I cannot offer you an extension myself. However, I will encourage you wholeheartedly to request one from the Academy's Board of Directors. It would be...inconvenient to train a new apprentice," T'Van murmured, and I couldn't stop a small smile from stretching my lips.
"You can admit that you'd miss me, y'know. There's no harm in finding the absence of another being displeasing, especially one you've come to think of as a friend." He lifted an eyebrow at my insinuation, and to my surprise, he nodded his head.
"It would be...logical...to assume that your absence would be disconcerting. I have become accustomed to you," he admitted as he practically shoved a data PADD under my nose. "This is the correct set of forms required to request an extension. I have already affixed my signature in the appropriate places and taken the liberty of setting an appointment for you with the Board tomorrow morning."
"T'Van–"
"As you are only scheduled to be here for another two months, I trust I needn't remind you that time is of the essence." With that, he swept from his office, leaving me to ponder what exactly I needed to say to persuade the Academy's Directors that I deserved to stay.
--
The next morning came both too quickly and not quickly enough for my tastes. I said my piece with as much eloquence as I could muster, hoping that I'd done well enough to avoid an immediate rejection.
"You have some interesting theories, t'sai, and your accomplishments are not in question. However," the Vulcan in the middle of the group steepled his fingers as he spoke, "we do not have the authority to grant you an extension in this instance. Our receptionist will provide you with the correct set of forms that you will require to present your request to those whose authority exceeds our own. Should you be successful, the Vulcan Science Academy will be agreeable to your continued presence. Live long and prosper, t'sai."
The next group of officials I spoke with responded in nearly the exact same way, acknowledging my accomplishments, giving their apologies, and shunting me off to the department above theirs to become someone else's problem. After three more such instances, I was quite used to the placating words and abrupt dismissals that punctuated each of these meetings.
As my quest for an extension continued, I found more and more people looking at me in the hallways of the Academy. I had been an interesting sight to the Vulcan students and professors before given that I was a different species, but the day before my final meeting nearly two weeks later, I caught a phrase that made my eyes widen.
"...believe her next appeal will be to the High Command," a Vulcan woman said to her companion as T'Van and I walked through the hall to his office.
As soon as the door was closed behind us, I blurted my thoughts in a panic.
"What did that woman mean about the High Command?"
T'Van looked up from his desk with a raised eyebrow.
"You have exhausted all other bodies of authority. Your next appointment to request an extension is with the council of the High Command tomorrow. Were you unaware?"
After the professor's casual statement, the rest of the day was a blur. Right up until I got into the elevator in the building that housed the High Command's office, I felt a sort of detached calm as though it wasn't really me who was going to be speaking with the heads of the Vulcan government.
"You're the woman who's requesting an extension, right?" I turned to find a perky, blond woman standing next to me in the elevator. She was clearly Human, like me, and I felt a dim sort of comfort.
"Yes, but how did you...?"
"I work as a secretary to Ministers Kuvak and Kollos. My own assignment was supposed to be temporary, but here we are," she said waving a hand airily. "May I make a suggestion?"
I nodded my head, and she pulled a small bottle from the pocket of her robe.
"None of the Ministers are in happy marriages. They were all arranged for political gain or social status by their parents. Your best bet for getting that extension would be an appeal to their pride...and a little flirtation. A spritz or two of this pheromone enhancer wouldn't hurt, either," she said. "They're a tough room, but the few times I've seen them interacting with women who aren't their wives...well, let's just say they were much more agreeable with a little ego-stroking."
I accepted the spritz of seemingly-odorless liquid, and as the door opened to our floor, I couldn't help but let my curiosity rule my tongue.
"Thank you. I'm grateful, really, but why are you doing this?" I asked quietly as we walked down the long hallway toward a pair of thick double doors.
"Because, I know what it's like to deal with this planet's bureaucracy. It's a pain in the ass, and when we spoke to set up your appointment, I couldn't help but notice that you sounded a bit frazzled," she murmured as the doors hissed open.
There were a few desks in this space, two of which were currently occupied. A third stood empty to one side of the room, and it seemed to be my companion's destination. Not exactly knowing where to go, I opted to follow her. Setting my stack of PADDs down on an empty corner, I allowed myself a short pause to gather my thoughts and my courage.
Admittedly, the thought of flirting with the Ministers to better my chances had crossed my mind - Vulcans were quite attractive - but before Jana suggested it, I had dismissed that as a possible solution. Surely people in such important positions would be even more stoic and disgusted by such blatant attention?
"Alright, the Ministers are ready for you now. Good luck." How long had I been standing there lost in thought? Mentally shaking away my nerves, I strode to the door leading to the council chamber and watched as it slid open before me.
"Come in, t'sai," a surprisingly warm voice called from the center of the large room that lay before me. A tall, broad Vulcan man with graying hair stood behind a long, highly-polished desk. I recognized him as Minister Kollos from the rather hurried research I'd done the night before.
He took his seat along with the other four Vulcans, only two of whom I recognized. Administrator V'Las, a harsh-looking Vulcan sat dead center, and to his other side was Minister Kuvak. The two younger Vulcans flanking the two ends of the desk were a mystery, though. I remembered their faces, but I couldn't quite put names to those faces.
"We have convened to hear your appeal for an extension of the duration of your apprenticeship with Osu T'Van at the Vulcan Science Academy," Administrator V'Las called as he folded his hands in front of him. "You may begin when ready."
Taking a deep breath as I walked farther into the room, I launched into the speech I'd given repeatedly over the past two weeks. handing each of them a data PADD with the relevant information as I spoke, I made my statement as quickly and concisely as possible.
"Your accomplishments cannot be denied, but forgive me...it sounds as though you have rehearsed this several times," Kuvak said with a hint of amusement sparkling in his eyes.
"Ah, that would be the result of having given that speech to five groups before you. Administrator, Ministers, I was hoping that, given your combined wisdom and logic, this little request of mine could be sorted out rather easily," I said giving the most attentive of them all, Kollos, a small, hopeful smile. "You are my last hope. Surely there's a way we can resolve this situation today...?"
Truthfully, I was probably being a little too obvious with my praise, but in my social encounters with Vulcans, I found that it was sometimes necessary to lay it on a bit thicker than normal. I could have been imagining things, but I could have sworn that a faint, green blush was rising in his cheeks and the tips of his ears.
"T'sai, we have already heard and denied the appeals of both the other candidates from your selection pool," Administrator V'Las intoned from his seat at the center of the long table. His cold, steely blue eyes watched dispassionately as I took a steadying breath. "What makes you believe that we should rule differently in regards to your case?"
Okay. Okay, not all hope was lost. The other two apprentices were men. I was familiar with them and their unfortunate personalities. They likely came in here brimming with arrogance and puffed-up theories which had no logical basis. They likely assumed that they would be granted the extension they sought once the Ministers recognized their brilliance. I needed to use a different tactic.
"I have no logical reason to believe that I deserve to stay more than the others. I do, however, believe that this council is wise enough to distinguish between a theory concocted of assumptions and one based on solid research. Each of you gentlemen has an achievement-filled career prior to your current appointment. To accomplish everything that you have and also serve your people in so selfless a manner...I must admit that I admire your dedication," I stated, allowing my eyes to skim over each in turn. Minister Kuvak looked practically stunned. "I only hope that one day, I will be able to say that I attained even a fraction of your success, and I firmly believe that my continued apprenticeship with Osu T'Van will be instrumental in giving me the best chance at accomplishing that lofty goal."
There was silence for a long, tense moment, then came the rustling of fabric. Minister Kollos stood and made his way around the polished wooden table, pausing only a few feet in front of me. How was one man that broad? His robes were clearly tailored to hug his figure closely, but really, the further reminder of how much he towered over me made my breath hitch.
"You present a convincing argument, t'sai," he said in a voice as deep and smooth as top-shelf whiskey. "We will deliberate and inform you tomorrow of our decision."
Wait, it was over already? Throwing caution to the wind, I took a few slow steps closer to him and bit my lower lip.
"Thank you for your consideration, osu, but...is there anything more that I could do to convince you to decide in my favor?" I asked looking up at him and batting my eyelashes as my fingertips brushed lightly over the back of one of his hands. Kollos's eyes widened, but he didn't protest or move away. His jaw clenched, and his gaze darkened significantly. "Anything at all...?"
"T'sai...you needn't feel pressured to take such actions," Kollos stated, but he didn't move away. The other Ministers likely had a good view of how scandalously I was touching a member of the Vulcan government.
"We would likely rule in your favor regardless of your personal persuasion," Kuvak called, but despite the concern on his face, there was hunger lingering in his gaze, as well.
"If she feels the need to seduce us to make certain of our decision, who are we to stop her? Proceed, if you wish." Administrator V'Las posited as he leaned back in his chair. Minister Kollos's free hand turned my head back toward him and he looked somberly into my eyes.
"You don't have to do this." His voice was barely above a whisper, but the vehemence in his voice made up my mind for me. The two younger Ministers who sat at either end of the long table seemed to have no opinion on the matter, choosing instead to defer to the wisdom of the three more experienced members of the High Command.
"I want to, osu," I replied firmly, and in a flash, Kollos had spun me around, pressed my back against his front, and curled his fingers with mine.
"Are you quite certain that you know what you are doing?" Kuvak called as he shifted in his seat. "Humans are fragile–"
Kollos's warm breath caressed my neck, and a quiet moan escaped me. Any further protests Kuvak might have had were silenced and replaced with slow, hungry exhales.
I vaguely noted one of the younger Ministers ordering the whole council's schedule cleared for the next two hours.
"Is this what you originally planned to do when you made this appointment with us, girl?" V'Las called as he stood and made his way over to us. I couldn't bring myself to answer. Kollos's hands had already begun to wander, divesting me of my robes and exploring my curves as his colleagues watched. "Look at me."
Opening my eyes - I hadn't even realized that I'd closed them - I found the head of Vulcan High Command breathing heavily and palming the growing bulge in the front of his robes. Once I was fully nude between them, V'Las freed his erection and guided one of my hands to grasp him.
"Make yourself useful, then," he growled, and I looked up at him as innocently as I could.
"Wouldn't you prefer my mouth?" Both men let out a groan, and soon I was speared between them. The broad-shouldered Minister Kollos thrust into me from behind, grasping my hips tightly so I wouldn't fall, and Administrator V'Las grasped my hair, pushing himself farther and farther into my throat.
Moaning around the lok in my mouth, I fell apart when Minister Kollos rubbed my clit in quick, deliberate circles. V'Las practically shouted his release moments later, shoving himself deeper in my throat as he came.
When he finally pulled away, Kuvak appeared before me looking both concerned and aroused.
"Are you alright?" He murmured, but instead of answering, I pressed a soft kiss over his own clothed erection. After a split second's indecision, he began fumbling to free himself. Grasping his hand as I took him into my mouth, I relished the skill in Minister Kollos's fingers.
He brought me to orgasm twice more before he spilled himself. Kuvak came a moment after him, and I swallowed his pleasure. The sound of hurried footsteps made me open my eyes. The two youngest Ministers, who had until a moment before been stroking their lengths to the show before them, now stood in Kuvak's place and groaned as erupted.
Hot ropes of their come splattered across my cheeks, and after a few quiet murmurs of gratitude, it was over. Kollos helped me to my feet, handing me a cloth to clean my face. I was attempting to replace my clothing in some semblance of the order it had been in prior to our tryst when V'Las spoke.
"T'sai, I think I speak for all of us when I say that should you need any other requests granted in future, you need only come to us and we shall ensure that you are not refused," he paused, "assuming that we have more sessions like today's, of course."
Kollos laid his hand lightly on my shoulder.
"You are not obligated to agree to that. We would grant your requests whether or not we repeat today's activities," he said with a glance of reproach at the Administrator.
"And you will receive your official extension notice this evening," one of the two younger Ministers called.
"I appreciate your concern, Ministers, but I'd be more than happy to come back do this again," I replied. They all seemed rather pleased to hear that.
As I made my way back toward the elevator, a familiar head of blond hair appeared next to me. Jana looked like the cat who got the canary. Clearly she'd guessed what happened.
"I'm just going to assume you're getting that extension. So...knowing how much the Ministers appreciate a steady routine, should I set up an appointment for the same time next week?"

This is perfect!! I love your style of writing, thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Heya! Can you make a cute short fic with Q? I've been obsessed with him lately, anything should be perfect!
Cultural Differences
Pairing: Q x fem!reader Fandom: Star Trek: The Next Generation Words: 2080 Warnings: Hurt/COmfort Summary: Sometimes it is better to ask for the reason for an extraterrestrial ritual. Often it is better to do this before the ritual, otherwise you will come back with an omnipotent being as your husband. A/N: Thank you so much for your request, I really hope you like it. I feel like this is not the best thing I've ever written, because I find Q difficult to write, but I really tried.
Tumblr media
Frowning, she stared at him from narrowed eyes as she did her best to remain calm and stop herself from smacking the smug grin off his face: " I'm sorry, what?" She truly hoped she had misheard and the all-knowing being/her lover before her, had not said what she thought she had heard. "I asked when the honeymoon was scheduled to start." She was pretty sure the confusion on her face was more than evident. "Where the hell did you come up with honeymoon? You do know what that is, don't you?"
Offended, Q pursed his mouth and jumped up, clapping his hands. "Mon amour, you insult me. Of course I know what a honeymoon is. I am Q, I know everything." He stepped towards her, bent down to take her face in his hands, and smiled his most charming smile, which usually made her heart pound, but now more than upset her. "It's a time for a newly married couple, to spend together." He pulled her up an
With great effort, she tried not to let her shudder show and looked up at him sceptically. "Have you not noticed your mistake, O all-knowing Q?" Her voice was mocking, something she would never have dared to do in his presence at the beginning of their acquaintance, for fear of being turned into a frog. "Maybe I'll have to give you a bit of a jolt: Newly. Married. Only people who have just got married go on honeymoons. We're together, not married, Q."
Now it was up to him to look confused, an expression she rarely saw on his face, and would have more than enjoyed under other circumstances. "We ... are, though?" "Oh," she laughed out, having to hold onto the top of his uniform to keep from falling. "Oh no, we're not. Believe me, my dear, I would remember such a ceremony." A frown took up residence on his face and slowly her laughter died away. "But... you said that you ..." Q seemed distracted and instantly she felt bad and took his hand.
"Hey. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, honey. I didn't mean to say I wouldn't. It's just..." Q interrupted her. "The ceremony was three hours ago. How can you not remember that?" "What?" All humour had disappeared and she was back to confusion. "Q three hours ago we were on the planet doing this strange water ritual that the inhabitants insisted on because they believed we were the incarnations of the divine royal pair before the Captain had had a chance to... oh my God."
She stared at him from widened eyes. "Q. Please tell me we didn't get married down there." He fell silent. "Q!" "You told me not to tell you," he returned, staring at the floor in a huff, his arms crossed in front of his chest and his mouth twisted into a pout.
She was at a loss for words. Of course she loved him, they had been together for years, but this? A wedding? Without even knowing about it? She sank down on the sofa and lowered her head into her hands. Now even the stupid grin from him, throughout the ceremony made sense, or the surprisingly passionate kiss after it. For a few minutes Q was actually silent before he spoke up again. "I thought you knew." His voice was low and he sounded guilty, a register of voice she had never heard on him before. She looked up. "How the hell could I have known about this! It was a first contact mission! I thought it was some kind of welcoming ritual."
"Aren't you the ship's anthropologist?" Gradually she became more agitated and jumped up. "I like to say it again, FIRST CONTACT MISSION!!! We knew nothing about the planet except that it was warp capable, though still believed in the old gods. That was it. How was I supposed to know about this ritual?" Q started to reply, however, she waved it off with a snort. "You can save that." With long strides she walked over to her door. "Where are you going?" "To blow off steam," she hissed back, giving him a cold look as he tried to follow her. "Alone."
He stuck his chest out and leaned down to her. "I am a Q. You cannot command me mortal." His words hurt more than she had believed, yet she only jutted her chin. "Stay away from me and leave me alone for this moment so I can think or I swear I will never speak another word to you." She was angry and Q knew it, however he didn't seem to believe her. "You wouldn't be able to bear that. You love me too much for that."
All he earned was another cold stare before she continued her way down the corridor. "Mon amour?" His call reached her ears before the turbolift doors closed, yet she did not respond. For the moment, she needed her peace. Apparently Q seemed to have realised that too, because contrary to her expectations, he had not followed her into the lift, for which she was grateful to him. Q had been right. She would never in her life be able to stand not talking to him again.
Her path led her to the botanical garden and only there, on one of the benches, hidden behind one of the huge rhododendron bushes, did she allow her frustration and fear and all her other feelings to run free and ruffle her hair. Married! Her! To Q!
She wasn't arrogant enough not to admit that she hadn't imagined it at least once, however, she had usually swept those ideas aside quickly because the idea was ridiculous. Q, the Q, capricious, omnipotent and as old as time itself, as a husband who dutifully waits at home for his wife to come home, with meals cooked and quarters freshly cleaned? If she hadn't felt so much like crying, she would have laughed. Just the idea of Q in a relationship was bizarre and she was the other part of that relationship.
"Are you all right?" Startled, she started up and looked into the questioning and kind face of the android in gold uniform who was looking at her. "You look like you're not well and as a friend, I was wondering if I could offer my help." A small smile crept onto her lips. Data really was a case in point.
Sighing, she shook her head. "I'm afraid not, my friend. This is a problem between me and Q." "Ah." Data tilted his head in understanding. "You are experiencing emotional misery due to a problem in your relationship." He settled down on the bench beside her after a moment's consideration. "However, I am sure that you will overcome this crisis, as you did the many crises before it."
She glanced to the side. "I'm not so sure about that. This isn't about a prank being played or the fact that he thinks I'm a little too reckless on missions." She swallowed. "When we were on this planet, before you could bring us up, we had to participate in a ritual that was apparently a wedding ceremony. And he knew, but didn't say anything!" Date nodded slowly. "And you're upset because you don't want a marriage with him." "What? No!" "So you do desire this marriage with him?" "No!"
Data looked confused. "So you don't wish for marriage, but equally you wish for it." Again she sighed. "Data, I'm not mad about the wedding itself. I mean, sure I'm a little pissed about that too, but it's much more the fact that he didn't tell me." "You feel like he took away your choice." "Maybe." "Have you talked to him about it?"
She stared at the floor in front of her. "Not really. I rather... well... rushed out of our quarters because I needed time to myself." Data hummed in agreement and rose. "Perhaps you should talk to him about it then. Counselor Troi has explained to me that the key to a good relationship and marriage, is communication." She winced slightly at the word 'marriage', but still had to smile at the idea that her synthetic boyfriend had received relationship advice from the ship's Counselor. Whatever for. "Perhaps."
Data nodded goodbye and left her alone. For a few minutes she tried to compose herself before she spoke his name softly, barely audible. "Q." Within a split second he appeared in a flash of light before her, on his knees and his hands held into a praying pose. "Mon étoile, please forgive me. I promise you, I really believed you knew." He almost hugged her legs. "Please don't leave me alone. I can't stand this without you. I'm sorry, I really am. Tell me what you want me to do. Whatever you want me to do, I'll do it."
Shocked, she stared down at him. "Q, you haven't been alone for fifteen minutes!" Q just shook his head. "Fifteen minutes too long." She sighed and gently tugged at his curls to lift his gaze to her. "I want to talk to you. And for that, you need to be calm. Sit down, please." She gestured to the seat next to her where Data had been sitting until just a moment ago and Q complied with her request almost instantly, even seeming nervous by his standards, which made her feel a tiny bit guilty since she had never seen him so upset.
There was silence between them before Q dared to raise his voice. "Are you still angry with me?" "I don't think so." She shook her head and folded her hands in her lap. "I'm disappointed, though, Q." He let out a small whimper. "That's almost worse." "Q, I want you to understand that I'm not necessarily upset because we got married. To be honest, it's something I personally wouldn't object to." She reached for his hand and ran her thumb over the back of it. "It's how that bothers me."
"I know you believed I knew. Still, you should have asked me Q, at least to be sure. By not doing so, you took away my chance to make a decision. Not that I would have said 'no' to a wedding," she added quickly when she saw the sad expression on his face. "However, I would have preferred that if we had decided to get married, that it happened with the full and conscious consent of both of us, in the presence of the people we care about. And not on a foreign planet, surrounded by strangers who think we are incarnations of their gods."
Carefully, she pressed a kiss to the back of his hand. "I love you Q, I really do. But you must understand my point of view."
For a few moments Q was silent before he nodded slowly. "I understand you, mon amour. And I'm sorry. I should have asked and made sure you knew what you were getting into. I should have thought about the consequences my actions could bring instead of just thinking about myself and the opportunity I was presented with." "You should have," she admitted, smiling gently at him.
He smiled slightly sheepishly and she thought she had rarely seen him so shy and vulnerable. "If it makes you feel any better, the Ajghasti ceremony is not legal under Federation law anyway. So strictly speaking, we're not married after all." Relieved, she exhaled. "Thank heavens for that. I really hadn't wanted to get married like this." Q glanced to the side and she could tell he was trying to mask his hurt, so she leaned closer and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I'd really rather marry you in a decent way, surrounded by friends and family and who knows. Maybe I can get the Captain convinced to perform the ceremony." By now Q was staring at her wide-eyed. "Unless you've had enough of married life after all, after just over three hours of it."
Q jumped up, pulling her with him and twirling her around as a laugh escaped him. "Oh, mon amour, you shouldn't have said that. Now I guarantee you won't get rid of me." Dizzy from the spinning, she clung to his arms and smiled up at him. She was sure the heat had darkened her cheeks, however, her eyes shone with joy where a few minutes ago there had been anger "That was the plan."

AH SO CUTE I'm so in love 😭😭😭 please put me in your tag list ❣️

Fandom: Star Trek: Enterprise Pairing: Doctor Yuris x Reader Words: 1076 !!!!! NOT MY GIF !!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Yuris had to admit that he had not really had it easy in the last few months, if not the last few years. Ever since it had come out that he was a melder, his life, as he had carefully and cautiously put it together, had shattered into thousands of little splinters. He had been forbidden to practise medicine on Vulcan and Vulcans, he had lost his profession, been ostracised and his wife, based on Vulcan law, had filed for divorce.
He could have protested, but he did not. Their marriage had never been a particularly happy one. They had got along, but T'Pola had never had any sympathy for him. Yuris had let her do as she pleased. A few times Yuris had thought about whether he could have done something differently, on the Enterprise as well as on Dekendi III, but he always quickly brushed these thoughts aside. The consequences on his part might be unpleasant, but he had done the right thing and that was all that mattered in his eyes.
Since there had been no life worth living on Vulcan, he had taken his few belongings and moved to the planet that would not punish him for his abilities and had actually welcomed him with open arms, to use a figure of speech. Earth.
At first they had been a little sceptical as to why a previously highly respected doctor from Vulcan would want to live on Earth, but they had put those doubts aside after, to Yuri's own surprise, not only Subcommander T'Pol but also Captain Archer had stood up for him. He had been offered a position in San Francisco, Starfleet Headquarters, but he had turned it down. He had been forbidden to practise medicine on Vulcan and did not want to run the risk of having to treat a Vulcan after all.
Fortunately, he admitted to himself as he hurried down the streets of Canterbury, his bag in one hand and his umbrella in the other to protect him from the falling rain. Yuris admitted that England was perhaps not the most logical choice for a Vulcan, however he had no regrets. The people were friendly and if they judged him, they did so quietly and even after the Xindi attack, he had hardly had to contend with xenophobia.
In addition, his skills as a doctor were appreciated and praised so highly by many that by now even patients from outside Canterbury flocked to his medical practice, which was only a ten-minute walk from his house.
The most significant point for his satisfaction, however, he had to admit, when he unlocked the front door and put the umbrella in the appropriate holder to dry, was the person waiting for him on the sofa, absorbed in reading and with a cup of tea in his hand.
He quickly brushed off his coat and shoes and washed his hands to get rid of the last smell of disinfectant before stepping quietly into the living room. As expected, she was sitting on the sofa with her back to him, her legs drawn up to her body to balance the book on them, while her hands clutched the teacup to warm themselves against it.
She looked up at the sound of his footsteps, smiled and put the book and cup aside and extended her hand towards him, her index and middle fingers extended, forming the ozh'esta. Willingly, Yuris returned the gesture by touching his fingertips to hers and closed his eyes for a moment as his mate's affection and calm poured over him.
"Nashaut, Adun'a," he murmured softly, leaning forward and kissing her forehead. Now it was up to her to close her eyes with a smile. "You're home early, Yuris." She slid forward a little so that Yuris could squeeze between her and the back of the sofa, allowing her to lean against him, which she did more than willingly.
"There was nothing more to do at the doctor's office and I was sent home, ashayam." Gently, he stroked her head before burying his nose in her mop of hair.
He considered himself more than fortunate to know her and even more fortunate to be able to call her 'mine'. He was even fortunier to have gone, against the protests of his logic, to the village festival that was celebrated there every year.
Yuris could remember, as if it were yesterday, how clearly overwhelmed he had been with the whole situation until she had gently touched him on the shoulder, aware of the fact that Vulcans mostly avoided touch, and quietly asked him if everything was all right.
He remembered how she had led him a little aside, away from the loud conversations and shrill singing that had made his ears ring. How she had smiled at him and offered to lead him to the slightly quieter corners and had stayed there with him instead of leaving again to enjoy the festival herself.
He hadn't known it then, but she was his k'hat'n'dlawa, the other half of his heart, his soul. He didn't have to think about that for long.
Yuris remembered how much he had regretted not asking for her name that evening or for another way to stay in contact with her. And it was only when his thoughts had refused to let her go and her face danced and laughed in his mind's eye that he had realised what had happened. Shon-ha-lock. Love at first sight.
He could remember the momentary fascination that had come over him, followed by a despair so deep that it had brought him to his knees. Never in his life had he felt or even imagined such... emotions and now that he had, it was gone. He had been all the happier when she had wandered into his doctor's office one day to accompany her elderly neighbour.
Yuris did not know what had made her decide to talk to him again, but he thanked all the deities he knew and had heard of that she had done it, so that now, four years later, he could hold her in his arms.
Careful not to hurt her, he rested his chin on her shoulder, which prompted her, now engrossed in her book again, to gently run her hand through his hair, eliciting a purr-like sound from him, which she had told him she found very endearing. "Thank you, adun'a." "For what?" "For choosing me." "Always."

This is extremely romantic for me, this is so nice Sky! Please write more, it's pleasant to read your stuff 😋
HD Adam Hurst: 'Seduction'
youtube
*My imagination is being overactive this early morning, and this beautiful piece by Adam Hurst is what I thought of Sky playing for her Romulan lover. I can imagine Vreenak enjoying music like this🥰*
The sun was descending behind the lush, green hills of Romulus, painting the sky in an elaborate canvas of rich, fiery hues. The Romulan Senator, Vreenak, stood on the terrace of his grand estate, his piercing eyes gazing out upon his expansive gardens. His thoughts were far from the political intrigues and interstellar power plays. Tonight, he had a different agenda.
A soft sound of footsteps echoed through the garden, and Vreenak turned his attention towards the source. There, under the violet sky, emerged a figure of a woman. Her name was Sky, a human from planet Earth. Her fiery auburn curls caught the last rays of the setting sun, making her appear as if she was ablaze. She was a vision of ethereal beauty, and Vreenak was captivated from the first moment he laid eyes on her.
Sky was a renowned cellist on Earth, but her enchanting beauty and captivating demeanor had drawn Vreenak to her even before he had heard her play. Now, she was here on Romulus, a guest in his world, a world that was vastly different from her own.
Vreenak approached Sky, moving with a grace that belied his imposing figure. He was a tall Romulan, with stern features and a commanding presence that was a testament to his position in the Romulan Star Empire. Yet, in front of Sky, he was simply Vreenak, a man entranced by a woman's charm.
He took her hand in his, his touch gentle, and guided her to the ornate stone bench under the sprawling branches of a Romulan t'ling tree. Its violet blossoms were in full bloom, their sweet fragrance filling the air. The bench was situated in such a way that they had a stunning view of the setting sun and the gardens, bathed in its fiery glow.
Vreenak leaned in, his voice a low whisper in Sky’s ear. His words were in her native tongue, English, a language he had learned especially for her. "Would you grace me with a melody from your world, Sky?" he asked, a seductive lure in his voice. "Play for me on your cello?"
Sky looked at him, her emerald eyes sparkling with anticipation. The request was unexpected, but she felt a thrill at the thought. She had brought her cello with her to Romulus, a piece of her world she carried wherever she went. She nodded and rose from the bench, moving towards the case that held her instrument.
Vreenak watched as Sky took her cello, the instrument seeming almost a part of her as she held it. Her fingers started to move, plucking the strings with a gentle grace. The music started slow, a hauntingly beautiful melody that seemed to echo the hush of the twilight.
As Sky played, the two of them, a Romulan senator and a human cellist, were lost in a world of their own. As the last rays of the sun disappeared behind the hills and the first stars of the Romulan night sky appeared, they were but two souls bound by the enchanting rhythm of the cello and the fiery glow of a shared sunset.
@starrynightgardens @bigblissandlove1 @deepspacedukat @creature-of-the-stars @toebeans-mcgee @wafflingchemist @akamitrani @foreverforty2 I hope you guys like it. My first ever attempt at a short story fic. Thought I'd start slow, and not overwhelm myself. Inspiration comes at the oddest hours lol
