Check out my original composition, "The Verdict".
While writing this I imagined someone walking into the courtroom, suspense in the air, awaiting their sentence, and looking back at what they've done. The brass section represents the judicial system speaking and making their decisions. Afterwards there is a period of anxiety and pleading on the defendant of the suspect, but the judge is steadfast on their decision.
Things I learned...
I employed deceptive cadences and key changes in this piece. My first draft was kind of boring! It went through the same cycle of chords the whole way through. So I decided to use these devices to make things more interesting.
Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy! :)

A Long Overdue Introduction...
Hello Tumblr World!
I just wanted to officially say hi and welcome to my blog! It's a bit long overdue, but I figure better late than never :)
A little about myself... My name is Alicia, I'm 24 years old, and live in New York City. I graduated from NYU for Music Technology and currently work full time at a pro audio sales company. I love composing and sound editing. Also, I play violin, and little keyboard and guitar. My ambition is to work on music and sound for film/tv or any visual media.
A little about this blog... My goal for this blog is to share some of my music and projects with you, and share some thoughts as I learn things along the way. I'm honing my skills and learning about the business any chance I get, and hopefully things I pick up will help you if you have similar interests.
To my first few followers and listeners, thanks for taking the time to listen to my music. I hope you like it, and I plan on posting more music and thoughts on a regular basis.
Thanks!
-Alicia

Sculptures by Philippe Guillaume.
The artist uses the theme of music in these wood sculptures as a way of expressing human nature and needs. He aims to reflect the concept of dreams, illusions and reality in his work.
