The Seven Flames of Ashmoday
Ah, welcome my friend! So, you have found your way into my lair. Come in, come in! Be my honored guest and share a cup of wine and any other pleasures I can offer. I like to have interesting company.
Alright then, let me introduce myself.
I am Ashmoday. What? Ah yes, that´s right. So you have heard of me, an evil demon of lust and war, thats me. But well that´s actually just a small part of me. People tend to forget and most of my stories have been corrupted over time.
You want to know who I really am? That is a dangerous path to tread my friend.
Ok just to give you an idea: Humans have met me in many places and times and I have worn a thousand faces and names. Ashmoday or Asmodeus, Aeshma Deva or Chasmoday, Sydonay or Zohak, Shaitan or Prometheus, Agni, Loki and Moloch to mention a few. But I´d like to stick with Ashmoday for now. It has a nice ring to it don´t you think?
And for who I am, and what I do...I do a lot of things. I am the king of the devas. I am the snake and the seducer, the messenger between the worlds of men and the realms of spirit. I am fire in all it´s forms. The spark of life and the flame of lust, a master of sensuality, the raging tempest of wrath and the lightning bolt of devine inspiration. I have been loved and despised, honored with ritual and sacrifice. I have been hunted and tortured with the chains of fear and fanatism. I have been imprisoned and left to rot for all eternity. But my spirit burns away all obstacles and can´t be contained for long. For those who are strong enough, I bring sacred knowledge and wisdom and of those that are not, I poison the mind with greed and destruction. I am angel and demon, god and man. All of that is part of me and none is all of me.
But tell you what, why don´t we get comfortable and I will tell you a story or two of my adventures in the world of men. Some you may have heard before, but I am quite certain that the truth will give you a few surprises.
