"Naranya, laimun, azzaytuna". Inspired in our andalusian legacy. Those in the title are the arabic words where spanish naranja (orange), limón (lemon) and aceituna (olive) come from. These dry farming trees are fundamental in our culture and gastronomy: adequate to our climate, delicious and full of medicinal properties. It also features a tartessian star.
All repurposed fabrics.

I was given this yellow sweatshirt with a big meh logo on it, so I made a quilted patch and now it's a favourite!

"Mal de hartura" (word play based in the spanish expression for altitude sickness; "hartura" (weariness) sounds like "altura" (altitude)). 31 x 23". Hand pieced, embroidered and quilted.
Did you know altitude sickness and anxiety share a long list of symptoms? Palpitations, nausea, dizziness, headache, hand tingling, insomnia, reduced coordination. In altitude sickness the body hasn't enough time to adjust to low amount of oxygen at high elevation; in anxiety attacks the brain thinks we're in danger and get the body into a fight-or-flight response. In both cases the shortness of breath is real.

Lately I've been alternating the needle with other tools since my partner and I have bought a plot of land in the mountains and there's so much to do/learn/fix. Luckily, Nature provides and I could improvise a thimble with an acorn cap.
