Weird, specific things i associate with the umbrellas

Luther: The kind of hot sweat after you do something physically taxing, except you’re not tired, just sweaty, and your breathing feels kind of surreal.

Diego: Finding weird cuts on yourself and having no memory of when you got them.

Allison: Adrenaline fueled debates/arguments where you’re typing or speaking way faster than you knew you could.

Klaus: damn bro I mean Klaus just is an oddly specific experience/thing in himself Taking off your shoes, rolling up your pants or hiking up your skirt and jumping into a fountain. The splashes get your clothes wet anyways.

Five: When your lip bleeds way more than it needs to and you’re just stuck constantly wiping blood off your face.

Ben: Screaming an actual scream. Like the blood-curdling siren kind of scream you wouldn’t be able to do even if you actually tried under normal circumstances.

Viktor: Feeling the calluses on your fingers just for no reason.

BONUSES:

Grace: When you pull on a baste stitch and the fabric gathers into folds.

Lila: Chipping your nail polish by scraping at it absentmindedly.

Eudora: Walking in new boots/heels down a sidewalk (and feeling like you could kick people and it would hurt them).

Sissy: Swirling a glass of wine (regardless of whether or not you’re actually going to drink it).

Dave: Unspiralling a cinnamon roll to eat it.

Raymond: Being twirled during a dance but being taller than the person twirling you, so you have to duck down under their arm.

The Handler: The type of ponytail that hurts.

Reginald: When you get excited about something you did and tell someone but the person you’re talking to very obviously doesn’t care.

The mothers & their character

Musing on what we get to see of the Umbrella mothers, I have some thoughts. I wonder if the mothers were shown as deliberate reflections of their children?

Luther’s Mother. A confident business lady, giving or about to give a presentation. She shows leadership, confidence (that dress folks, YES), poise. Professional strength and intelligence. All things that Luther has aspired for.

Diego’s Mum. Shown in the home, preparing a meal. A home maker, caring, love language presumably acts of service. A reflection on how Diego always seems to have wanted to be a real family, with real connnections and care. His closeness with Mom/Grace. Also, knife skills.

Allison’s Mother - a teacher. And if my memory serves me, teaching geography/geology with a diagram of the earth’s layers on the chalkboard. A nurturer who works with youths/children, and who has the power to inspire and change lives with her words.

Klaus’ Mother - Amish. The simple, self-sufficient and religious life doesn’t seem a good fit at first glance, but when you look a little deeper I think there’s some parallels. Religion/Spirituality/Mediumship/literal crossing to the other side are all linked beneath the surface. And the self sufficient life style - Klaus has never really gone without. Whatever he has thought he needed or wanted (materialistically) he has been able to get, one way or another. He’s adaptable, a charmer, he always lands on his feet.

Five’s mother, the butcher. A professional who can get the job done, isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, but can work with precision. Ability to separate emotions from the job at hand. Also, excellent blade skills and good understanding of anatomy. A good parallel to Five’s ruthless fighting style and the professional pride he took in his assassination work.

Ben’s schoolgirl mom. Young, really starting to explore life, with years and years ahead of her. Too young to be thrust into motherhood, such a momentous change, regardless of the instantaneous nature of it. A reflection or mirror to her son, who was beginning to explore life outside of the academy and died too young.

Viktor’s mother. The aspiring olympic swimmer who wanted to rise above ordinary and compete with the extraordinary - something Viktor longed for for most of his life and formed a huge part of the S1 arc, and really still influences Viktor even in S3.

TUA 1, Ben

it’s the fact that at the beginning they introduce ben as some mysterious add on, a character that’s going to have a majorly sad backstory about how he died and etc.

then they just gave up and made him the chaotic neutral to klaus and NEVER told us how he died or what tf the jennifer incident AND WHO JENNIFER EVEN IS?! LIKE, HELLO?

ben in episode one fr was all ‘it’s not a phase mom.’ to episode two, realizing it was in fact, just a phase, mother grace.

S. One

we need to talk more about the one scene where luther sadly found out he was sent to the moon for no reason, causing him to go down and break into their dads liquor cabinet to drink his sadness away-

when klaus found him, it’s klaus, so he was making jokes about luther rebelling and going against reginald but once he found out why luther was drinking, he immediately dropped the goofy act.

he even sat luther down to talk his problems out and comfort him, letting his brother cry on his shoulder.

but when luther started to ask klaus to show him the ways of being, well, klaus, he immediately started to tell him no. why? because he genuinely didn’t want luther to turn out like him.

that breaks my heart yet also fills it with love all because we get to see klaus’s soft side and we get to see him caring for his brother instead of seeing his normal chaotic character.

once luther was at that rave having a girl grind on him, then, the girls bf going to attack him. the guy was buff, you could tell he would beat the shit out of someone, yet, klaus still attempted to tackle him just to protect luther and it’s just UGH!!

idk, that episode as a whole is my FAVORITE s1 episode but this part always has stuck out to me, even when TUA first came out, the scene is just always in my mind 24/7..

Ray

i love ray with all my heart and he was, imo, the best love interest of the show besides sloane and i’m glad to have him back..

just why does he have to come back due to a bad decision his wife made? why couldn’t he had just poofed back into existence </3

he was such a sweetheart and a leader, he didn’t care what happened to him during the cafe sit in and shoved a cop away from allison to keep her safe, resulting in him to be shoved onto a table then beat outside :(

don’t even get me started on the scene when he first asked allison out, she even spoke for him and it brought such happiness to his eyes. when he found out about her powers, you see genuine heartbreak when he starts to doubt her and think she used her powers on him.

s2 allison and ray have my heart in such a grasp hold. even with how BAD allison was in s3, if we get an s4, i just want a happy family between him, claire, and allison, even if she doesn’t deserve it. i literally just love ray so much.
