I hope you never stand in your own way. I hope you don’t let your own thoughts belittle you or your actions stop you from trying to change or improve your life. I hope you always find the courage to take big risks or end bad relationships. I hope you always find yourself daring and dreaming. I hope you never let your fears define your life. I hope you always break all the rules and the barriers you set for yourself that limited you from living your life to the fullest.

-> Life Update: What I've been up to
The past few months felt like I've been swimming in negative emotions not knowing when and how I can escape the trap that I'm into. I couldn't do my school works well because my head is filled with thoughts that distracts me from working. I can't do my daily routine well because I always feel lile I'm tired and there's no reason for me to do my routine. I lost my sense of direction. I was scared and anxious. I was worried and I don't know why I suddenly felt that way.
Now, I feel better. Still not my best self but I am trying to regain the lost and wasted energy and I am trying to be myself again. I am focusing on what is important and what I have control over. I am taking charge of my day and doing once again my daily routine.
I hope everyone is doing well and you're all enjoying your activities. Hihi ✨

Being the Main Character of your Life.
Hello, hello! Welcome to my first post - about living your best life.
Tumblr media
Sadly, we can't star in a real Ghibli movie, however, we can live our lives like one. Here are a few ways you can live your life like a Ghibli movie.
1. Listen to music! It is scientifically proven that music makes you happier. Think of the music as the background music to your story.
2. Develop a hobby. Most Ghibli characters have some sort of hobby to occupy them in their free time, for instance, Shizuku has a great passion/hobby for writing in the film, Whisper of The Heart. Your hobby can be something like art, playing a musical instrument - whatever your heart desires.
3. Go outside. Many Ghibli movies have their theme set around nature and how important it is (i.e. Pom Poko, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind). Try to spend as much time outside as possible (even if it is only in your backyard).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Go on picnics/tea parties. Picnics and tea parties are wonderful ways to be in and enjoy nature. Of course, you can always have a picnic or tea party indoors. All you need is a blanket or mat (or not), food, and tea! That's all, it's pretty simple!
5. Keep plants. Keeping plants near your workspace or around you is a great way to bring a bit of greenery and nature into that space. Many studies have shown that keeping plants around you can make you feel calmer!
6. Don't compare your life with others. It's always tempting to look at the seemingly perfect lives of others and guilt yourself by comparing your life to theirs. However, this puts you in a very negative frame of mind and can lead to bigger mental health issues. Unless you are going to use their story or life as inspiration to where you want to be, it's better not to do this. It's also important to remember that, most of the time, you are only seeing the best little snippets of a person's life.
Tumblr media
Some quotes (from Ghibli Films, of course) to motivate you!
“Try laughing. Then whatever scares you will go away.”
- Tatsuo Kusakabe, 'My Neighbor Totoro'.
“Always believe in yourself. Do this and no matter where you are, you will have nothing to fear.”
- The Baron, 'The Cat Returns'.
“It’s not really important what color your dress is. What matters is the heart inside.”
- Kokiri, 'Kiki's Delivery Service'.
“Just follow your heart and keep smiling.”
- 'Kiki's Delivery Service'
“We each need to find our own inspiration. Sometimes it’s not easy.”
- Ursula, 'Kiki's Delivery Service'.
“They say the best blaze burns brightest, when circumstances are at their worst.”
- Sophie Hatter, 'Howl’s Moving Castle'.
"It’s funny how you wake up each day and never really know if it’ll be one that will change your life forever.”
- Sho, 'The Secret World Of Arrietty'.

Do you guys find time to treat yourself after a busy schedule?
While we are all busy doing things for school and work, let us not forget to take a break and just be with our self, enjoy the moment and free our minds from all work-related thoughts.
I think the best way to de-stress, improve our creative thinking process, stay more productive and balance our mental health is to take a good break. We may have more things in our planner or to-do lists but nothing will ever be great and fulfilling than having to take some time off and treat ourselves may it be a good cup of iced coffee, walk in nature, read a book, journaling or just simply staying still and pause. We all deserve to enjoy and do the things we love other than our work and education.
Happy friyey! ✨

My Student Life Lately: I am finally a senior in college! Attended our General Assembly online and my first major class for this sem.
Here are 3 things I am looking forward to this semester:
> A fun-learning experience. While most if not all of us are still having our online classes, it's really important to make learning fun and flexible. To not take everything too seriously and to make space for holistic conversations in class, catching up with other classmates, making group works extra interesting and to see online classes not a terrible set up but a new way of learning.
> Better time management. I'll be honest, the past two semesters were not really that fulfilling to me mainly because majority of the tasks I submitted were not really something I am proud of doing, I probably did the bare minimum in some of them because I was rushing to make it to the deadline. All these because of how poor I was at managing my time. I chose not to manage my time because all I did was binge watch Netflix while setting aside my tasks. This sem, I commit to managing my time well.
> Improvement. I wanna see how far I can go and which areas I can still improve. As a college student, I feel like it is important to track as well how much we have improved to know what exactly we should do next. I just want to do my best to also expect few improvements. Small wins if you may :)
I look forward to all these things because they are also the qualities or habits that I lack during the previous semesters. I guess mistakes really teach us good lessons for us to get better and be better.
I hope that we will all have a fun semester ahead and may we enjoy learning new things! 🧡

I used to get so overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information i had to remember for exams in school!!! Endless dates and names in history, formulas in maths, essay points for psychology, the list goes on! Here are the tips i use myself to help you retain all those facts and figures you need to remember - that have all been scientifically proven to help! ❤️

any tips for someone who wants to start writing?
Have fun! Always write for yourself first and foremost! Write what you enjoy, what interests you, what you like, NOT what other people might like. Don't worry if an idea seems silly or overly dramatic or if it has been done before. If it catches your interest, write it and see what happens!
Don't overload yourself. Writing, like any art form, is a skill that you will always be learning more about and improving upon. It is a life-long process so don't feel bad that you don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about writing immediately or even in a couple of years. You also don't need to write every single day. Take it at your own pace and practice what you learn and figure out what works for you.
Sign up for the Writer’s Digest newsletter.  It is free and the articles have a lot of useful information, not only about actual writing but also on all the other things needed to get published and make writing a career that they don’t teach you in school.
Find a writing buddy or someone you trust to read your writing. It is always helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off of and to cheer you on when you get stuck.
WRITE. This is self-explanatory but practice will make you better. The best way to get better at writing is to write the words. The story that has been written down will ALWAYS better than the one still inside your head because the one inside your head technically does not exist. Write it down and make it real.
READ. This is just as important as actually writing. Reading shows us how to write. It gives us inspiration and guidance. Examine your favorite stories and see what the author did to achieve a certain aspect.
Here's an ask about getting started writing here on tumblr (though the ideas apply to other sites as well).
Remember your first draft is not terrible.
And I also have a writing advice blog @writingadvice365 if you have any writing related questions. I also accumulate writing resources over there.
Happy writing! \^o^/

During the start of summer, I told myself to read as many books as I could without specifying how many books exactly. To my surprise while I was about to finish "Being Happy" by Andrew Matthews (which btw, I've read countless times already) I realized that I have already read 4 books! To someone who has a lot of things to do, I am proud of myself for being able to read more books this summer.
I am excited to share with you all the books I've read and the lessons I learned from digging all four of them LOL I can also tell that reading has become a stress reliever to me because whenever I feel occupied and busy with university and internship, I always end up reading a book and find it really relaxing afterwards.
I am proud of myself for this achievement and I am excited to read and learn more. ⭐

From being a Pessimist to BECOMING an OPTIMIST. The CHOICE was mine to make.
Evening Journal Entry:
While I was journaling a while ago, a random thought came to my mind. The thought was so timely. It was a flashback of the time when I was so done with myself being a pessimist always overthinking about situations and events that aren't even real and tangible. I remember I was sitting in my study table one night thinking about why I keep tolerating negative things and you know what they say "you attract what you think" and because I was such a negative thinker, I always end up seeing things the negative way. Always expecting things to turn the other way around. I was like "hoping" for negative things to happen. Something I was struggling for a really long time. That same night, I decided to change and shift my thinking. I started reading books, writing more often in my diary and journal asking myself questions in order for me to know myself more, I went to places I've never been all by myself and I started having faith for better things to come.
My learning? It was that most of the things we do in life are a reflection of our thoughts. When we think happy thoughts, we become happy. When we think about negative thoughts, we'll most likely spend the day terrified. To shift our thinking is our choice and as for me, it was the best choice I've made in life. The process was definitely challenging but that's how we all grow.
Good night. ⭐
