Anime Review: Cherry Magic!

Spoilers ahead! GUYS CHERRY MAGIC ENDED TODAY 😭

Literally one of my top watches this 2024 winter anime season. It was so wholesome and cute and I squealed like a little girl (embarrassing.. I know) the ending was so so cute but I was really hoping for more:( but the way it ended makes me think that that’s it. I’m happy we got to see them married and live together although brief. I wish we got to see more of the side couple too:( but overall it was so so good

10/10 pls watch it’ll make u feel fuzzy and warm

Anime Review: Rurouni Kenshin 2023 reboot

just my opinions!!

(also disclaimer I know the author is bad, yes I did watch this but I do not support the artist whatsoever)

GUYS THIS WAS SO GOOD

I have never read the manga, nor have I watched the original ... oops. I can't compare but I can tell you that this was one of my favourite watches this season. I was so excited each week when we got a new episode, I was never bored and even though we got 24 episodes it wasn't enough. This was heavily slept on in my opinion, I heard barely anyone talking about this which makes me sad. Loved the characters and it wasn't even mc focused the entire time, we got side character episodes which I loved. I love the way Kenshin just inspires all of them, and the fight scenes were awesome. I could tell what was happening the entire time. I find some anime the fight scenes are so fast, and it looks like a blur, but I think whoever the studio was that animated this did a good job. The last episode left us on a bit of a cliffhanger so I'm praying that we get a season 2.

If you have yet to watch this, I highly suggest that you do.

BL Recommendation: It's Just A Dream Right?

This is one of my favorites, literally top 5 for me. The plot, the characters, the art and oh god the spice is unreal.

Follows Jungoh and Ibeom, Jungoh is looking for a part time job and goes in for an interview at a shrine. Thats where he meets Ibeom, a shaman who helps people with their nightmares by entering their dreams. Little did both of them know that Ibeom would cursed by a nightmare seedling, making him super aroused and the only way to tame it is to act out his desires. Jungoh, being Ibeoms assistant, helps him out with that.

I absolutely love this story, also I can't get over how pretty Ibeom is, I have a weak spot for pretty looking characters. Also, this story doesn't have your typical kind of spice, it delves into some pretty interesting kinks that I don't see very often and I'm here for it honestly. Also, I love how this is spicy but slow burn, like you see them do the snu snu often but it's just a good dynamic I think and it's not just all smut. I often don't like straight smut stories with no plot and the characters tend to be boring, trust, I'd never recommendation something awful like that. Worth the read :)

This was so cute, also I think the character designs are beautiful! Expecially Kanae <3

This follows Haiga and Kanae, set in college, Haiga joins a club and meets Kanae. Kanae plays guitar and is in a band, and after school you can find him working at a "spa". One night Haiga and his upperclassmen go out drinking and they tell Haiga to go to this spa, curious, he finds himself going and that's where this love story begins.

It's too short honestly! I wish there were more chapters, but I think it ended well and I enjoyed reading, I never got bored.

This one was pretty funny so if you like rom coms then I think this is the one for you. Sou and Tetsuji are rivals, they are both gang leaders and they both hate eachother, thats what they both believe anyways. In reality Sou looks up to Tetsuji so much but every time they get a chance to talk, Sou acts mean. (Hes literally just a tsudere)

I thought this one was super sweet and again I like the art, it's very lighthearted so if you want to read an easy-going story, I definitely recommend this one!

BL Recommendation: The Guy Inside Me

Status: Completed

This manhua is underrated in my opinion, it's a high school romance that follows Sheng Xu and Zhan Shao. Sheng is the smartest in the school and Zhan is the bad boy of the school who gets bad grades. One night Sheng catches Zhan coming back late to the dorms. As Zhan tries to jump down from the wall, he falls onto Sheng causing them to switch bodies.

Such a good enemies to lovers trope and I think the art is beautiful too. I love both of their developments so much and they're such a cute couple. Please read this if you haven't already!

BL Recommendation: Semantic Error

About a few months ago I started reading my first bl (boy love) and people weren't joking when they said once you start reading bls that you're going to be hooked. I can't believe I was missing out on all these great stories for such a long time! Anyways I thought I would start a little series where I talked about some of the bls I've read so far.

Starting off basic and strong we have Semantic Error, its an enemies to lovers trope which is probably one of my favourites and this book is seriously so good. Its popular for a reason, they even made a K drama which I have also seen and even though there are some differences between the two I absolutely loved the drama. If you're a fan of this but haven't seen the drama yet, I highly recommend that you watch it.

For anyone who is reading this post right now and doesn't have a clue in the world what this is, then let me explain. It follows Sangwoo Choo, a college student who gets stuck working in a group project. Sangwoo is very adamant on following rules and being a good student, his partners for the assignment end up not doing any work and so to spite them, Sangwoo does all the work himself and leaves them with no credit. Jaeyoung Jang, one of his group project partners, ends up failing the class and because of that he can't graduate. After figuring out Sangwoo was the cause of him not graduating, Jaeyoung constantly bothers Sangwoo in an attempt to get back at him.

This is one of my favourite stories, i just think their dynamic is so good and the art is also very pleasing to the eye. Please read this if you haven't yet, its worth the hype.

Anime Review: Attack On Titan

Special episode 2 - The final

The final episode came out on November 4th and it was about an hour and a half long. I watched all the way till the very last second and I know some people were disappointed in the end, I can't say that i am. I actually thought the last episode was amazing, I mean the entire show is really amazing but I think the ending was perfect. So many people wanted Eren to win but I don't think that would've been a good ending. We see in the end sequence how war is inevitable, but that doesn't just mean Eren died for nothing. Eren achieved his goal in the end, his friends got to live and die in peace and he eradicated titans from their lives. Of course peace couldn't last forever though and thats what we see at the end, and Eren knew that. Also ive seen some people being confused about how Mikasa was able to free Yimir in the end. We find out that Ymir was in love with King Fritz, and by being so, she was enslaved to him. Now taking a look at Mikasa, also in love with Eren, Ymir saw this and saw how Mikasa was able to love Eren but make her own decisions and save humanity over him. Thats how Mikasa was able to free Ymir, she was able to do something Ymir couldn't.

Manga Review: Wolf Girl And Black Prince

These are my opinions

Wolf Girl And Black Prince is a manga series with 16 volumes and even ended up getting its own anime. It is labeled as a shojo romance and has become one of those "classic shojo must reads" and thats exactly why I read it.

The actual plot is nothing special, it follows Erika (the wolf girl) and Kyouya (the black prince) and they strike up an interesting deal with one another. It all started with Erika lying to her friends about having a boyfriend, when in actuality, she didn't. They ask to see a photo of him one day and thats when they start to doubt her, so in order for her to keep her lie, she snaps a photo of a random guy which happens to be Kyouya. Turns out Kyouya and Erika attend the same school and she eventually asks him to be her fake boyfriend. Kyouya agrees but has one condition, that Erika be his "wolf girl" pretty much saying he wants her as his pet dog.

I really wanted to like this, and at a few points I did. Kyouya is the shittiest red flag I've seen in a shojo so far. I like some red flags but this was one I could not get behind. Due to this, i thought his development would be great, I've even been told that his development is good and he gets less icky. Ive been lied to, there was a point in the story where I actually thought he was almost redeeming himself, but then he went back to being a shitty manipulator/gaslighter again. Erika literally put up with emotional abuse and it made me frustrated. Whenever he was a huge dick she'd forgive him and run straight in his arms EVERY SINGLE TIME. There are so many scenes I could bring up that made me infuriated, like when they went on a date and Erika wanted to look at the cherry blossoms. Kyouya was being such an ass to her, it always seemed like he would never put in much of an effort to do want she wanted to do. Also when Erika worked at the cafe to help out Takeru and Kyouya got so mad but then proceeded to work there and do the exact same thing she was doing.... 😐FUCKING HYPOCRITE

The thing that irked me the most though, was when she had decided what she wanted to do after they graduate. The plan was to attend school near Kyouya, if im not mistaken, but that was until she found something she was passionate about, a future career. Kyouya being Kyouya made her feel guilty and awful for wanting to leave, saying things like he was going to break up with her if she did, forcing her to stay. It had to take Erikas friend to slap some sense into Kyouya and tell him he's a piece of shit for saying that to Erika, for him to actually go and apologize and tell her to go follow her dreams.

I still enjoyed reading some parts, but imo this is just too problematic for me to enjoy fully. I just can't stand Kyouya most of the time. I will definitely not be watching the anime either. I'm not sure if i'd ever suggest this to someone, I mean unless they like really toxic stories 🤷‍♀️

It just blows my mind that people actually like him or fan girl over him (no offensive if you're one of those people, you like who you like i guess) but I don't think its okay for any man to treat a women so poorly like that. I know this is fiction, but I know when I was younger, i would look at men like this and truly believe that i needed a man like that or thats how relationships are. I think reading this as adult is fine because we know better. I much prefer healthy relationships though and will most likely stick to that after reading this.

New Manga Alert!

So I started a new manga the other day, its brand new, only one chapter so far and boy do I have some things to say.

So I'm going to give a rundown of the entire chapter. Shino (the FL) and Seno (the ML) used to date back in highschool, super in love blah blah, and then Shino(FL) finds out he's moving. (Keep in mind she finds out from someone else) Anyways so he's all like lets break up and so they do. Now we are transported to the future where Shino is in university now in Tokyo! I forgot to mention that Seno(ML) plays the guitar and shit and because of that Shino I guess developed a love for music more. Shino goes to a music club at this university and guess who she sees, smacking lips with a girl.... the janitor.. no of course not, Its Seno. (Jeez i'm sorry, I think i'm a comedian or something, bear with me here) So obviously seeing your ex is awkward, especially when they're swapping salvia with some chick you don't know. After this interaction they end up sitting with the other club members and are kinda introducing eachother. Seno literally tells the other club members that he barely knows Shino at all, they just went to the same school before. At this point, Seno was getting on my goddamn nerves. Also he just acts like hot shit too and its freaking annoying. Shino just kinda goes along with this, and as the night goes on, a club member tells Shino they should go grab a drink and seeing this, Seno comes to her rescue. Wow, thanks a lot you pompous ass... you can tell that I love this ML lmao. But no in all actuality it was a good thing, but instead of redeeming himself, he just goes ahead and made me dislike him even more. He literally insults her by saying

"no wonder guys target you when you're being all friendly like that"

😐

Like yeah okay bud

At least at this point the FL knows better and is able to stand up for herself, telling him to fuck off pretty much. Does Seno leave her alone? Hmmm no instead he flirts with her and confuses the hell outta her. And to end this cake with a cherry on top, he proceeds to ask her if she wants to start over and if they want to head to his place or a hotel. I mean my jaw dropped when I first read that. I will say im liking this FL though, she knows her worth and isn't afraid to say stuff to him. I'm really hoping it stays that way. Forgot to mention that she rejects him but then he kisses her and that's the end of the chapter! Yeah so the ML isn't my favourite to say the least, but I have read and watched many things and there is a thing called development but at this point I just find him so not attractive. Words and actions speak volumes here and i'm so over reading toxic relationships (I still read them though... that's a me issue)

I like the exes getting back together trope, i think it can be wonderful and cute if done right but so far I'm very iffy about this but I will continue to read it. Really hoping for some great character development with Seno and I really hope that the FL doesn't cave to his disgusting behaviour.

2023 Spring Anime Review: Hells Paradise

Wow! I feel like I haven’t posted in forever, I've been so busy lately that I didn’t really even have time to post but I’m back! I know we are well off into the summer season now and Hells Paradise has been ended for a little while now but I have to make a review because this show is incredible. I haven’t read the manga so I can’t base anything off of it. Can we talk about how good the character development is, I mean each character is so well written and they all have their strong points and weak points. Gabimaru in particular is so likeable, there is so much to his character and his motivation being his wife is so cute ngl. Although the whole thing with his wife being an imagination?? I mean I don’t know whats happening with that ( since it was like at the end of the show that they said that ) but now I just want a second season even more. The twists and turns in this story made me love it even more. I was so engaged watching this, craving more and more. 

The art is amazing its so colourful and pleasing to the eye and the animation went hard. I mean shout out mappa because they’re being worked to the literal bone. The fights scenes were great as well, I really am impressed. 

Overall this is a great anime and if you haven’t watched it yet, what are you doing? WATCH IT :)
