helloooo i have a prompt request if you dont mind!! can you please do one where peter takes mj to meet tony and she wasnt expecting tony to be so dad-like towards peter, and like she was planning to act so indifferent to tony but then once she saw how he is with peter she starts to get intimidated cause what if tony doesnt think she’s good enough for peter? but it all works out in the end anyway cause we all know mj is basically a mini pepper fjdjskd thank you 🥺🥺
Meeting the parents of your significant other is always nerve-wracking.
Meeting the father figure of your superhero significant other who is a now retired superhero who saved the work and is one of the most – if not the most – influential people in the world is even more nerve-wracking.
Meeting the father figure of your superhero significant who is a now retired superhero who saved the work and is one of the most – if not the most – influential people in the world on top of having anti-capitalism(-ish) attitude and been at protests against their company since you have been born can’t get any more nerve-wracking.
Luckily, Michelle isn’t afraid of a challenge.
When she agreed to go on a date with Peter, she wasn’t consciously aware that it could lead to meeting Tony Stark. It was partly because Michelle is very aware that quite a few High School relationship don’t even reach the state of meeting one’s parents before they fall apart, and partly because the idea itself of meeting Tony Stark was just as far away as meeting Beyoncé or Greta Thunberg.
But then their one date turned into two dates with then turned into three and more dates, then they added shy kisses with burning cheeks to the mixture, and before Michelle was even offered the chance to back out, butterflies start causing havoc in her intestines every time she so much as catches a glimpse of her boyfriend (her boyfriend!) and she realizes that she wants to spend as much time with him as possible.
Meeting May was easy. Michelle already kinda knew her from seeing her at Aca Deca competitions or when she dropped Peter off for a trip. May always has an easy smile on her lips and is quick to laugh, just like Peter, and there’s a certain warmth she radiates that makes Michelle want to curl up into her side and tell her about all of her problems.
But then, a couple of weeks later, Peter asked her if she wanted to meet Tony (not Tony Stark or Mr. Stark or Iron Man – Tony). Michelle had no other choice but to say yes because she knows how close they are. Well, she never really saw them interact, but the way Peter talks about him and the few snippets she heard from phone calls left no doubt in her mind that they are close.
The evening before she’s going to meet Tony Stark, Michelle is this close to freaking out and her parents don’t help. Of course, they don’t help – they went to protests against SI manufacturing weapons since they were teenagers and having a baby didn’t stop them, which is why there are so many baby pictures of her dressed in a onesie with the words STOP MAKING WAR written all over it.
And, yes, Tony Stark has changed a lot and isn’t the person who made a profit from war anymore, but that doesn’t mean her parents opinion has completely changed. Which is why her mother – a Psychology professor – keeps remind her of all the ways to establish her dominance and how to find out if he’s trying to mess with her, while her father gives her a quick refresher course in self-defense.
“Stark literally saved the entire universe.”
“Well, Ted Bundy was also really charming and nice, and look at what he did.”
“Dad, you literally cannot compare those two.”
(It’s that exact moment that Michelle decides she has to tell Peter her parents mysteriously vanished. Because she knows he will break up with her once he met them. And she’s not ready for that.)
But even though Michelle doesn’t share the extreme opinion of Stark her parents have, she still wants to leave the right impression – and that impression is that she’s not one bit impressed by him. So, when she walks into that small, absolutely not famous coffee shop to meet Peter and Tony Stark, she schools her face into a blank mask, and reminds herself of all the things her mother said the day before about coming off as indifferent.
They don’t see her immediately, and Michelle takes that chance to just look at them for a second.
That second is all it takes for her to realize that she’s absolutely not prepared for this.
Because she prepared for multi-billionaire Tony Stark, the invincible Iron Man, savior of the universe, one of the greatest minds of all time, the silver-tongued futurist who gracefully took an up and coming, overly eager vigilante under his wing.
But what she’s seeing is… well… a dad. There’s this incredible soft and genuine look on his face that’s so full of love that Michelle thinks she might have stepped into a parallel universe or something. He’s enthusiastically listening to whatever Peter is telling him and then, then he even licks his thumb and rubs something off Peter’s cheek. Michelle is too busy having a small panic attack to be amused about Peter’s complete embarrassment.
This isn’t what she prepared for. Not at all. She’s not prepared to be judged by him if she’s good enough for the kid he clearly sees as his own – it was supposed to be the other way around! And what if Tony doesn’t like her? What if he thinks she’s too rude or straight forward or if her interest in conspiracy theories is too weird or if all those history details about people getting murdered at famous landmarks is creepy or what if he finds out what her parents think of him?
What if Tony declares her not good enough for Peter?
Just when the thought of turning around and leaving crosses her mind, Peter spots her. “MJ!” he says, waving her over.
Steeling her spine and reminding herself that Michelle Jones does not back down from a challenge, she walks over to them. Originally, she had her entire introduction planned, calling him Dr. Stark because she knows he doesn’t like it and because she wanted to show that she’s not afraid of going against his wishes.
Now, all that comes over her lips is a meager “Hi.”
“MJ, that’s Tony. Tony, this is MJ.”
“Kiddo, I think that was very much unnecessary,” Tony comments with a smirk and a good-natured roll of his eyes. “Do you know how much I already heard about her? I could write a documentary about her.” And then, to Michelle’s shock (even though she clearly should’ve expected it), Tony stands up, holds out his hand (his human hand, not the robotic prosthetic and there are a million thoughts running through her mind if it’s for her benefit or his) and smiles warmly at her. “It’s an honor to finally meet you, Michelle. I heard a lot about you.”
Michelle prides herself in always keeping her cool.
But that particular ability fails her right now. With burning cheeks, she takes his hand, giving it a quick squeeze and hoping he won’t notice her sweaty palms. “Y-Yeah. Likewise.” If Tony notices her nervousness or sweaty hands, he doesn’t mention it. Instead, they sit down, all of them ordering some milk shakes (Michelle seriously doubts she can consume anything, she feels like she’s already this close to choking on air or throwing up, but she doesn’t want to be rude).
For the next half an hour, Michelle is a witness to something only a few selected people are privileged enough to see – the real Tony Stark. The one that makes stupid jokes and laughs about Peter’s stupid jokes and complains about the parents at his daughter’s day care and talks about finding the perfect recipe for some soup and taking care of their pet alpaca and growing goji berries.
He’s so completely not what her parents have always told her that Michelle has no clue what to do. There are plenty of times both Peter and Tony try to engage her into the conversation, but it’s like a cat got her tongue and all she manages are some unintelligible answers.
And it gets so much worse when Peter excuses himself to go to the bathroom. Every single atom in her body wants to scream at him to not leave her alone with Tony, but in reality, no sound leaves her lips.
The second Peter disappears behind a door, Tony turns to her and she feels like the prey of a predator. Her father’s comment about Ted Bundy crosses her mind and she wonders if Ted Bundy also talked about growing goji berries.
“So,” Tony says, drawing the single syllable out until it turns into five, “you’re a lot quieter than I expected. I mean, Peter did say that you don’t talk as much as he does – though, frankly, I don’t know how anyone could talk as much as him.” Michelle doesn’t know what to say to that, so she doesn’t say anything at all. Which is not a new tactic. “You’re nervous.”
She’s somewhat aware that she nods.
Tony exhales and his shoulders drop a bit. “That’s alright. I’m nervous, too.” That statement totally baffles Michelle, but once again words fail her, which is why she only blinks. “I know Peter likes you a lot, and I also know you have very strong opinions. Which include certain things I did in the past.” As if it’s actually a big deal if some random teenager approves of him, Tony gives a nervous shrug, a somewhat shaky smile on his face accompanying it. “Even though he doesn’t say it, I know he wants us to go along. And, well, I know that a lot of people can’t forget what I’ve been like before Afghanistan.”
“You’re not what I expected,” she finally blurs out.
Tony waits for a second if any more word vomit will follow, but when she doesn’t say anything else, he asks: “Is that good or bad?”
Michelle thinks about it. “You’re a lot more… domestic.”
She didn’t expect the booming laugh that suddenly fills the small coffee shop. She doesn’t think she ever heard Tony Stark laugh like that in an interview or somewhere else. “You know what?” he says when he calmed down. “Twenty years ago, I would’ve taken that as an insult. But now? I like being domestic. And retired. Even though it gives me plenty of time to worry about a certain spider doing way too reckless stuff.”
“Tell me about it,” she mumbles, the words out of her mouth before she can stop them. However, Tony gives her an encouraging look, and she reminds herself once again that she’s Michelle Jones and not afraid of a challenge. “There was this one time he dropped onto the fire escape by my window in the middle of the night, and-”
Tony and Michelle bond over looking after their favorite spider themed vigilante, much to Peter’s dismay, because neither of them really care if he gets embarrassed by it – in fact, they seem to encourage it.
A couple of hours later when they leave the coffee shop, the tension in Michelle’s shoulders is completely melted away.
“It was so nice to finally meet you, Michelle,” Tony says with a smile, squeezing her hand once more.
Michelle gives him a small but genuine smile. “Call me MJ.”

Perfection
Dad!Tony
Word Count: 1,582
Request by: @shady80smusicsingercolor
Summary: A lesson on perfection.
A/N: Sorry that’s it’s been a while guys! Even with being less busy I’ve had a lot going on and a lot less motivation to write. Sorry also that this request took so long for me to fill.
Perfection. Noun. The quality or state of being perfect such as freedom from fault or defect, i.e., flawlessness. An unsurpassable degree of excellence.
It is what you were meant to be. What was expected of you. You had to do everything to perfection. You had to be perfection personified, otherwise what was the point?
Except you were far from it. You were only human after all.
‘Y/N Stark’s transcript released, heir to Stark industry only has a 3.0 GPA’
‘Tony Stark’s daughter caught arguing with paparazzi’
‘Y/N Stark’s skincare routine for dealing with severe acne’
They went on and on. Every possible flaw they could find would be picked on. Even when you strived for the top, for perfection. So why was it that even when you pulled your grades up, even when you weren’t actually arguing with the pap, and you bought the best makeup to hide any blemishes on your skin, they still picked at you.
It hurt. Why didn’t they understand you were a 16 year old girl who just wanted to live her life and not be criticized 24/7.
What used to be a problem you could ignore seemed only to grow. It was gradually becoming a cesspool in your mind of negativity.
Tears made their way down your cheeks one afternoon. It was a big fear of yours, dating. But this one guy who you really liked had asked you out. You thought everything was great. But that afternoon he broke up with you. It hurt, he was only the second guy you’d ever given a chance and yet he took your heart and smashed it.
He said it was because he didn’t like the speculations in the tabloids about you, that all your negative traits they talked about seemed true and he didn’t want to be with someone so in the spotlight.
It broke your heart so much that even though you had 3 classes left in the day you lied to the school staff saying you were feeling ill and they called Happy to take you home.
You held yourself together long enough to make it to your room at the compound before you broke down.
But just your luck you only had about 5 minutes of peace before there was a knock on your door.
You held your breath to keep from sobbing again. You didn’t want to talk to anyone and you knew that no member of the team would stop from entering if they thought something was wrong.
“Y/N?” Steve called, knocking softly again.
You didn’t answer him.
He sighed behind the door, he knew you were crying, he could blame his perfect superhuman hearing, but he knew he’d be able to hear you no matter because you were just across the hall from him.
“I’m coming in,” he warned, opening your door.
You buried yourself deeper into your pillows. “I’m fine Uncle Steve, I just want to be alone.”
“You don’t seem fine, sweetheart,” He argued. “What’s going on?” There was a dip in your bed beside you, and a hand stroked through your hair.
The gentle touch brought another sob out of you. “Why-why am I like this Uncle Steve?”
Steve’s frown deepened. “What do you mean?”
You sniffled and pulled your head up to look at him. “Why do I have to be like this? S-so imperfect.”
“Nobody’s perfect, doll. What’s got you so worked up about something like that?”
Sobbing you continued to hide in your pillow. You shook your head in response.
“Y/N, listen, I want to help you but I can’t do that if you can’t tell me what’s wrong.”
You were quiet for a while, in that time you managed to calm some. At least enough to pull your face away from the wet pillow.
Steve stroked your hair the whole time, hoping the contact would help relieve some of your stress.
“I wish I was someone else,” you whispered. “I wish dad never kept me, so I could just be normal. Why-why does everyone expect me to be perfect? Why do they make it hurt so much?”
“Hey,” Steve stated. “You don’t mean that. Your dad loves you. No family is normal. No one is perfect, like I said. You might be different because of who you are but don’t see that as a downfall. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be you and anyone that tells you otherwise is wrong.”
You shook your head and pressed your face back into your pillow. “You don’t get it Uncle Steve… you don’t have to worry about how-how your skin looks, or what other teens think about you, or how smart you aren’t just because your dad is a genius- I-I hate my life, it’s not fair. Everyone thinks I have the world because of who I am but no one ever stops to think about how I feel about what they say about me.”
“You can’t let others control how you feel, doll. Do you think your dad would be so successful if he cared about everything every person that doesn’t have any impact on him said?”
“I’m not my dad!” You shouted, wincing because you hadn’t really expected it to come out that way. A soft whimper left you and you curled more in on yourself.
Sighing, Steve leaned down and kissed your head. “No, you aren’t. I just meant that you shouldn’t care for anyone else's opinions of you except for those that matter.”
You thought over his words and while you knew he was right, it still didn’t take away your pain. It did help you feel like you mattered to anyone as anything other than what your imperfections showed.
An alarm going off on Steve’s phone had you pulling your head up slightly.
He shut it off with another sigh. “I might need to go, sweetheart. But I can stay if you need me to.”
You shook your head. “I really just want to be alone, Uncle Steve…”
Nodding, he offered you one last kiss to your head before making his way to the lab.
He divulged everything to Tony, who quickly made his way to you.
He didn’t bother knocking, he just opened your door and walked in. “Sunshine, what’s going on? Your uncle betrayed you and told me you were upset.” He laid down beside you, and started to try to remove the pillow from your grasp.
The second the door opened you whimpered and clutched your pillow tight. You knew you shouldn’t have told him. Of course he’d send your dad. You ignored him and favored clutching your pillow to keep him from taking it.
“Fine, keep the pillow. But you still need to talk to me. What’s got you so down?”
You mumbled into the pillow.
“Huh? Was that-, was that my baby girl trying to talk to me? I couldn’t hear her past that pillow over her mouth.”
Whining you pulled the pillow away. “Nothing’s wrong, dad. Go away, I just wanna be alone.”
“Nope, not gonna work. Tell me, why do you think there's something wrong with you? There’s not by the way but I want to know why you think there is.”
You sighed, your eyes stung with tears again. “Tommy br-broke up with me because of the stuff the tabloids have-have been saying about me… I-I don’t care that he broke up with me… it’s-it’s the why. I know I’m not perfect… but why do they have to pick at that? Why do they have to remind me that I’m not a genius, I have bad skin, I’m not pretty, I don’t have any talents, I don’t dress right, I give the pap attitude-“
“Whoa there, sunshine!” Your dad cut you off. “None of those things make someone perfect. You are perfect. Want to know what makes you perfect?”
“You’re my dad, of course you think I’m perfect.”
He chuckled. “Well, no duh. But that’s not what it is. You’re perfect how you are because it is who you are. It’s all the good you do for the world and others. It’s how you love. It’s how you try so hard at everything you do because you want it to be perfect. But just because stuff isn’t perfect, doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Want to know something?”
“Hm?” You mumbled.
“The pap plucks out people's flaws and insecurities to show all the jealous people in the world that just like them they’re their own person. And to make them jealous because I guarantee you the majority of the people out there don’t believe the tabloids anyway. And you shouldn’t either, sweetie.”
“But-“
“No, no buts. Listen, I love you. The only opinions from others that you should care about are the people that you care about. If you care about every last opinion of every person, well you’ll never feel good. You should only care about the ones that really matter. Got it?”
You sniffled. You both knew it wasn’t a complete fix, but you nodded your head, knowing that your dad was pretty right. If you cared about every last person’s opinion of you, of course you’d never be happy. But you already knew that the people that you cared about the most and the ones who felt that way about you, well, those were good. Those were the ones that made you who you are. Perfect or not.

Happy Father’s Day to all great dads and father figures!
Decided to do something quick and wholesome (or sappy, really) for a change. This is tony in my Prosthetic!tony AU, in which tony stark actually survives the snap, mostly because I wanted to have both peter and Morgan with a living tony. Morgan is the artist in the family.

Peter, to Morgan, as he got ahold of Tony’s cellphone: Okay Morgan, let’s prank call one of your dad’s contacts!
Morgan, giggles: Oh! Prank call grandpa!
Peter, stares in confusion seeing the contact name ‘Daddy’ on the phone: grandpa? But Howard died—
*Press the contact number, starts ringing before the line picks up*
Steve: hello?
Peter, quickly hangs up:(0.0)
(Idk if someone made a similar post to this. If so, I am sorry, did not do it on purpose. Full credit to them if there is a similar post to this)

For a headcannon peter yelling trust fall in the worst places and tony running to catch him
•  God tier idea. It kinda becomes a challenge. Where can Peter jump, what’s the most dangerous stunt he can pull, and how fast can Tony get to him?
•  Peter will intentionally climb the tallest buildings around, then right as he’s about to jump, he calls Tony.
Peter, on the phone: Hey, Mr. Stark!
Tony: Hi, kid. What’s up?
Peter: Oh, you know. The usual stuff.
Tony: Cool, cool—
Peter: Oh, by the way *throwing himself off the edge of the building* *over the sound of rushing wind* TRUST FALL
Tony, scrambling to the nearest suit: FUCK
•  Sometimes it’s at the end of an exhausting battle, just when everyone starts to catch their breath, right when Tony throws himself into a chair to relax. From across the battlefield, he just hears, “HEY, MR. STARK!” His adrenaline spikes SO fast. Like, imagine a scream waking you up in the middle of the night: fucking HORRIFYING.
•  And Peter has a parachute in his suit, so really, Tony could just flip him off and let the kid fall, but... he REFUSES to admit defeat. Tony Stark builds the strongest weapons known to Earth, and Peter thinks they’re not fast enough to catch him?? AND FUCK GRAVITATIONAL PULL, TONY CAN BEAT THAT, TOO.
•  Oh, plus, Peter absolutely poses on the way down. Dabbing. Air guitaring. Pretending to yawn. Putting his arms behind his head like he’s lounging. The TikTok shy pose. 🥺👉👈 Whatever meme is currently popular, he’s doing on the way down.
•  In general, he’ll pull the most dangerous shit JUST so he can make puns about it.
Peter, leaping into a burning building: HEY, LOOK, MY SKILLS ARE ON FIRE!
Tony, yanking him out by the scruff of his neck: Stop it, you’re embarrassing me.
•  Peter particularly likes pestering Tony like that when he knows Tony is busy. An interview? A date with Pepper? Is he working on a delicate machine? Peter calls him at that precise moment. Imagine Tony standing on a stage, giving a speech, and over the crowd in front of him, he sees a little blob of red and blue stepping off a building. Imagine him angrily throwing his fork back onto his plate in the middle of his date with Pepper and dragging his phone outta his pocket. Imagine him fumbling with a half-finished piece of machinery as he sprints to his suit, muttering, “Fuck, fuck, fuck.”
•  Peter doesn’t know the havoc Tony caused in his rush to complete the trust fall, doesn’t know how angry Pepper is about Tony leaving RIGHT when they were about to order dessert. But the way Tony cusses him out when he gets there brings Peter GREAT satisfaction. He LIVES to create mild annoyances.
