AHHH THANK YOU!!! I'm so excited that so many people are excited about this!! Since I have to develop all the recipes myself its gonna take a while before I actually get to the designing part of the book. I've made a cookbook before for someone who had all their recipes all written out and finalized and that alone took me 11 months. But as I work on them, I'll post them on here for other people to try out and give feed back :)

42 Ingredient Nasty Burger Sauce Recipe

I figured this would be one of the most challenging recipes to create. As described in the show, "If those 42 secret herbs and spices in our nasty sauce overheated, it could cause an explosion that could take out a whole city block!" - Irving "Third Degree" Burns. And while I may be an amateur home chef, I don't know how feasible something like that is. BUT I did create a 42 ingredient burger sauce. Here are all 42 ingredients and the recipe!

Red onion

Thyme

Olive Oil

Garlic

Smoked Paprika

Brandy

Hot sauce

Ground pepper

Egg

Red or white wine vinegar

Salt

Neutral oil

Lemon juice

Crushed tomatoes

Water

Sugar

Sherry vinegar

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Celery salt

Mustard powder

Cayenne

Clove

Mustard seeds

Turmeric

Honey

Herbs

Honey

Beer

Cider vinegar

Cucumber

Onion

Distilled white vinegar

Cornstarch

Red bell pepper

Celery seed

Dill seed

Parsley

Dill

Fennel

Rosemary

Tarragon

And here is the recipe!

Nasty Sauce

1 red onion, finely chopped

Thyme sprigs

Rosemary springs

Olive oil

Garlic

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika 

Brandy

6-8 Tablespoons Mayo

2-3 Tablespoons Ketchup

2-3 Tablespoons Relish

Hot sauce, to taste

Ground pepper, to taste

Method:

In a sauce pan, heat olive oil under medium heat. Add the red onion and thyme springs, season with salt and pepper, and immediately cover and lower the heat to low. Leave to cook for a few hours, or until everything turns into a nice jammy texture. After a few hours have gone by, remove lid and discard thyme. Add in garlic and smoked paprika and turn the heat back up to medium. Add in the splash of brandy, and cook for 30 seconds, scraping up any burnt bits stuck to the pan. When the bottom of the pan looks clean, transfer the contents to a food processor with the mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish, hot sauce and ground pepper. Blend until everything is smooth and creamy and transfer to a container.

For the 42 Ingredient Recipe, you can make homemade Mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish with the recipes provided below.

Homemade Mayo

 - 1 large egg at room temperature

 - 1 tablespoon mustard

 - 1 tablespoon red or white wine vinegar

 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste

 - 1 cup (240ml) neutral flavored oil, grapeseed, safflower or canola are best

 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, optional

Method

In a small food processor, add your egg and blend for 20 seconds. Add your mustard, vinegar, and salt and blend for another 20 minutes. Scrape the sides and bottom and resume blending. As it blends, slowly add in the oil, drip by drip, until a quarter of the oil has been emulsified. One the mixture has start to come together, you can start adding the oil in a thin stream. Once all the oil has been added, continue to blend for another 10 seconds. Taste to see if it needs lemon juice, salt, or vinegar. If the mayo seems to thin, you can drip in more oil. Store covered in the fridge for two weeks.

Homemade Ketchup

 - 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes

 - ½ cup water, divided

 - ⅔ cup white sugar

 - ¾ cup sherry vinegar

 - 1 teaspoon onion powder

 -  ½ teaspoon garlic powder

 - 1 ¾ teaspoon salt

 -  ⅛ teaspoon celery salt

 - ⅛ teaspoon mustard powder

 - ¼ teaspoon finely ground black pepper

 - ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

 - 1 whole clove

Method

Pour tomatoes into a slow cooker. Rinse out the cans with the ¼ cup water and pour it back into the slow cooker. Add your sugar, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, celery salt, mustard powder, black pepper, cayenne and whole clove, whisking to combine. Cook on high, uncovered for 10 to 12 hours, or until thick. Stir every hour or so. Use an immersion blender to break down any chunks of tomato that did not break down in the cooking. Finally, use a fine mesh sieve to strain out any other lumps. Transfer to a bowl and allow the ketchup to cool completely. Taste and adjust for seasoning.

Homemade Mustard

 - 6 Tablespoons mustard seeds

 - ½ cup mustard powder

 - 2 teaspoons of salt

 - 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

 -  2 tablespoons honey (optional)

 - ¼ cup minced herbs such as parsley, dill, fennel and tarragon.

 - ½ cup water or beer

 - 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar

Method

Using a mortar and pestle, spice grinder, or a bag and meat hammer, grind the mustard seeds, leaving them mostly whole. Pour these into a bowl with the mustard powder, salt, turmeric, honey or herbs. Pour in the water or beer and stir well. When everything is incorporated, let it sit for up to ten minutes. The longer you let it sit, the mellower it’ll taste. When you’re ready, pour in the vinegar. Pour into a glass jar and store in the fridge for 12 hours before use. This will keep for one year.

Homemade Relish 

 - 2 cups finely chopped cucumber (about 3 Kirby cucumbers)

 - 1/2 cup finely chopped onion

 - ½ cup of red bell paper, finely chopped.

 - 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar

 - 1/4 cup sugar

 - 1 Tablespoon of celery seed

 - 1 Tablespoon of dill seed or dill weed.

 - 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 teaspoon water

 - Salt

Method

Set a sieve over a bowl and place your cucumber, onion, red bell pepper, and ¾ teaspoon salt and allow it to drain for 3 hours. As the salt mixes with the cucumber and onion, liquid will release. After the three hours, wrap the cucumber and onion in a kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible. Set aside.

In a small saucepan, heat the the vinegar, sugar, and ¼ teaspoon salt to a boil until the sugar has dissolved, and there is about ½ cup of liquid left, about 3-4 minutes. Add the cucumber onion mixture and simmer for about 2 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer for another minute, stirring. Transfer the relish to a bowl and chill, uncovered until cold, about 1 ½ hours. The relish will keep for one month.

Omg YES!! I am so thrilled with the response I’ve gotten on this. I will accept any help! I’ve got a lot of down time over the next month so I am going to start working on recipes. I will say cookbooks do take a long time to make. I’ve made one before and that one had all the recipes made I just had to format it and design it and that took almost a year!! As I make recipes I will definitely post them and you can send me your thoughts!

I’m gonna have some down time while I’m recovering my surgery so I’m gonna start researching and writing recipes.

@goodfish-bowl I was thinking for the ecto latte it may be matcha but somehow with lime in it??? Idk if that would be a good flavor combo hahaha. BUT if I were to make an alcoholic drink I could definitely use the green Hawaiian Punch, that would be amazing. I do have a decent amount of culinary knowledge. I’ve been teaching myself to cook and bake since 2016, paging through cookbooks and the some of same texts they use in the Culinary Institute of America.

It will take a while though to make this into an actual cookbook. I’ve written one before - it was a fan made cookbook for a YouTube show that’s no longer available because they got copyrighted. So I took all of their recipes and formatted it into a book with pictures from their show - but even that took 11 months to do. I’m gonna be starting completely from scratch here, and it’ll have to be when I’m not at work, working on my own self taught culinary education, and hosting (I also host dinner parties for strangers).

I’m also not a graphic designer. If anyone who does do DP art and wants to partner up with me for this project that would be so awesome. My knowledge is just straight copy/paste, screen shotting and cropping lol. But that’ll all come after I’ve written and taste tested the recipes.

In the meantime I can post my progress on here and put up some recipes for y’all to make at home! Thank you guys so much for the encouragement 😊👻

Danny Phantom Fanfiction.Net Fic Recs

We’ve been getting lots of new phans joining the phandom or not knowing where to start their search for curated phandom content. There’s a lot of content out there and we have stories and comics shared on sites like FanFiction, DeviantArt, Archive of our Own, Tumblr, and so many others.

So, while this is not a comprehensive list, these are some of the works I’ve loved over the years and I highly recommend from Fanfiction.Net (which I know is hard to explore). Hope you enjoy!

2004-2007: The Canon Discovery Era (aka when the show still aired)

📖🔹 “A Secret Uncovered” by @darthfrodophantom || Danny’s transformation is caught on tape, revelation chaos ensues. (Currently being cross-posted on AO3). Also, Darth is back in the phandom and has even joined different phandom events and really cool projects, like the DP AU Zine. She also wrote another awesome story, one of the first dissec-adjacent stories, “Tortured Truth”.

📖 “Unmasked” by WingsOfMorphius || Valerie & Phantom get stranded, learn more about each other. One of the first Val-centric stories I remember. WoM was an icon back in the day and has many awesome stories (but consider a few of them will remain incomplete, such as 🔹"Moments of Clarity" or 🔹"Gender Confusion").

📖 “Estrelas” by Shimegami-chan || Sam finds a ghost in her grandma’s attic. One of the first stories to expand on Danny's immortality.

📖 “Running Blind” by Dejah Thoris of Mars || A CSI crossover, featuring a runaway Danny Fenton. It's a long one-shot that doesn't necessarily require you to know the CSI characters to enjoy it.

📖 “Like Son, Like Father” by Erratta || As Jack's trying to understand his son’s problems, he turns into a half-ghost. One of the few halfa-Jack stories I can recall.

📖 “A Thermos for Valerie” by Bluemoonalto || Danny (as Fenton) tells Valerie he knows about her being a ghost hunter. One of the best Val reveals I've read.

📖 “Playground Philosophy” by Epona Harper || Maddie and Phantom bonding at the playground. It also has a sequel (“Fuzzy Logic”)

📖 “Complications” by HiddenAuthor || Lots of worldbuilding as Danny’s powers increase. It also has excellent sequels! “Exceptions”, “Hopes”, and 🔹 “It’s in the Genes” (the last one is the only one incomplete).

📖 “Anathema” by Firefury Amahira || Dan’s POV for the events in the TUE timeline. Companion pieces: “Jeremiad” and “Benediction”, which are all written exquisitely.

📖 “Phantom’s Sketchbook” by AkoyaMizuno || One of the phandom early classics. Mr. Lancer finding Phantom’s abandoned sketchbook and learning more about the ghost.

📖 “Do Superheroes Exist?” by Golden Lunar Eclipse || Danny’s secret revealed to the world and the aftermath after it gains media attention.

📖 “Heartbeat” by Evilevergreen || Danny never realized until now that his heart stopped beating when he turned ghost. A heartbreaking Danny/Valerie fic (with a darker sequel, too).

📖 “Unexpected Revelation” by TallieCat || Maddie waits in Danny's empty room until he crawled back through the window in the middle of the night. This one started like a one-shot was then continued years later!

📖 “Ghostly Emotions” by Invader Johnny || TUE alternate ending where Danny loses his memories and Ember tries to take advantage of that. A Danny/Ember fic.

📖 🔹 “The Ultimate Hero” by moonymonster || Alternate TUE ending in which Clockwork doesn't interfere and Danny (spoiler) becomes full ghost.

📖 🔹 “Anathema's Abode” by Twisted Creampuff || AU that takes place in a secret war, where Sam meets a ghost hybrid who could help them win the war.

2008-2012: The 100% Post-Canon Era (aka dissec and fix-its)

📖 “Lab Rat” by AnneriaWings || Danny under his parents’ scrutiny on the lab table. For many this fic marks a before and after in terms of dissec fics.

📖 “Infinite Potential” by MyAibou || Post-canon exploration (including PP). MyAibou’s stories are amazing. Check out “Ghosts in the Closet” as well.

📖 “Masks” by @cordria || A story examining Danny’s relationship to the human race. Cordria’s stories are so varied and all so wonderful to explore.

📖 “Karate, Judo, KungFu, What was That?” by Artgirl4 || Maddie trying to figure Danny out after she sees he has more fighting skills than she thought.

📖 “A Note From the Resident” by The Light’s Refrain || Danny wakes up one day to a clean room and a disturbing note. This is such an eerie take on his ghost half, I love it.

📖 “The Scrapbook” by Dragon Elexus || Maddie finds Jazz’s scrapbook about Phantom and stumbles upon some secrets.

📖 “The Truth Game” by Paradise-Whispers || Val and Danny are stranded after a field trip and play a truth game.

📖 “The Social Game” by Chaos Dragon || The A-listers discover Danny’s secret. Decide to do something about it.

📖 “Going Up” by Danny Phantom SG-1 || Danny has to help a fellow ghost move on, but it's not just any ghost. It's family. Really beautiful but heartbreaking one-shot.

📖 “Ten Minutes to the End” by @phantomtwitch || Suspenseful one-shot. Time is running out and the key to everyone's survival literally rests in Jazz's hands... This author is also currently writing a wonderful hazmat au / no one knows au named "Echoes"

📖 “A Batch of Cookies” by jadedbluerose || Maddie bakes a batch of cookies with a secret ingredient.

📖 “Complications” by @ladylynse || Valerie's trying to come to terms with the realization that Vlad Masters is Vlad Plasmius. An amazing Val-centric fic.

📖 “Family Adjustments” by dpluver || A collection of post-PP drabbles focusing on Fenton family bonding. This is another amazing example of how people tried to handle stories taking Phantom Planet into consideration.

2013-2019: The Fanon Explosion Era (aka enter Tumblr and the phandom lore era) - Note: Most new stories moved to AO3 but some were crossposted here.

📖 “Doorbell” by @sapphireswimming || She kept waiting for him to walk through the front door... A hurt & comfort story. Sapphireswimming has so many wonderful stories and micro-stories to check out as well.

📖 “The Janitor” by @currentlylurking || Casper High's janitor finds Phantom bandaging himself up in the janitor's closet. A lovely look at one of many minor characters in the show.

📖 “Nexus” by HappyLeif || When Danny is injured and desperate and backed into a corner, Clockwork passes him the reins. This author is one of my all time favorites and this story has such exquisite Donnie Darko vibes. Please check out all their other stories if you can.

📖 “Captive Audience” by LunarMothim (aka thickerthanectoplasm) || Phantom finds himself trapped with Jack and Maddie during a ghost hunting retreat. One of the stories that began to apply the ghost speak lore.

📖 “A Jock and a Hard Place” by AnneriaWings & Haiju || Danny & Dash are trapped in a janitor's closet during a ghost attack while they're alone at school. Things don't look good for Danny. A brilliant one-shot.

📖 “Phantom of Truth” by Haiju || Maddie works with the GIW to study Phantom. Also with a sequel "Shadow of a Doubt". An angsty phandom classic in the dissec genre.

📖 🔹 “Of Field Trips and Phantoms” by Ironinkpen || Fieldtrip to the Ghost Zone with lots of delicious shenanigans.

📖 “Shift” by CaptainOzone || AU in which Danny's secret is revealed to the world before he ever steps foot in Amity Park. A wonderful "everyone knows" story.

📖 “Karma has a Sense of Humor” by Vitaliciouscreations || A oneshot featuring Danny, Mikey, Nathan, and Lester and the way karma has a funny way of working.

📖 🔹 “Possession” by Hybridkylin || The state of being controlled by a demon or spirit. In this case, what happens if Phantom possessed Danny.

📖 “A Snapping Sound” by @leda-x || AU where Sam finds ghost stories and mysteries to reveal in Amity Park. A really exquisite horror story and a beloved phandom classic as well (I still cry that I couldn't buy it in print).

📖 🔹 “Experience is Everything” by Anne Camp aka Obi-quiet || A 29-year-old Danny is sent to the past in his 14-year-old body after he first gained his powers, where he tries to do things differently.
