I like that your character learned to find love again. I think its kind of sad that more things dont have characters being in real love, losing it, then loving again, without somehow dismissing the first or the second. Like we act like the second is cheating on the first or the first wasn't real.
Thank you! Honestly with how long lived Mask is, it just made more sense for him to have more than one serious relationship. Tbh is probably a bit odd that I've only given him two. I imagine he's had odd flings and short lived things, but nothing quite like those two.

Mercy, high ranking member of the Intelligence Department in the Brand. Mask's second in command. I got a little lazy with parts of this one by the end, but still. Love this NPC very very much.

So which one did he love more?
Context: Mask is a human that has been alive for 300 years now. He is still human, he's not an elf - he thinks like a human, acts like a human.
There was probably about a century between Jandaars death, and the time he met Talrean.
He loved both of them very much but in different ways.
Jandaar was someone he had a long, happy life with, even if in the end Mask made the worst possible choice in the end that he could. Jandaar was cold at times, he was a no-nonsense man who was willing to call Mask on his bullshit. Jandaar challenged him, they bickered (lovingly). Talrean is someone Mask met when he was at his absolute worst, he was cynical and pessimistic and selfish. Talrean brought the best of Mask out, and Mask saw Talrean as a representation of the best the world had to offer - someone to treasure, to protect. Talrean was literally distributing all the food he had to starving people in a city under seige when Mask met him, and Mask had to decide to share his food with Talrean to make sure he kept eating. Both made Mask a better person, Jandaar by talking and challenging, Talrean purely by example and gentleness. Mask was unfortunately right, Talrean died young. In some ways, that makes Talreans loss more painful. Talrean will always be the potential - the "what if"... Jandaar represents forgiveness to Mask Talrean represents hope.

I thought your character was with the human guy, who's the lizard?
Jandaar (the human) was Masks husband, they had a long happy life together but Jandaar did eventually die (I believe the story of this is somewhere else on my blog). Talrean (the dragonborn) was another lover of Masks at another point in time - still long before the Brand.

Been thinking about this relationship from my dnd characters backstory a lot lately. This is pre-brand.

Whats the symbol on his hand?
The mark on the back of his hand is a tattoo he was given in prison, after being convicted of multiple counts of housebreaking. Its the holy symbol for the goddess of order, and something most prisoners in that are of the world would be given (I want to be clear, its not specific to Masks crimes). It's meant to be a constant reminder to them, and everyone around them, of what they did. It essentially shows that Mask is an ex-convict.

Why do they let Mask be a mercenary if the risk is so high?? And whats wrong with him that he chose to do it? (I want to study him under a microscope it sounds like he makes such bad choices)
The Brand is known for taking practically anyone whos willing to put in the dedication to the company - its a line of work where you are very unlikely to live to old age regardless of if you are cursed or not. I imagine they took it as he's a full grown man able to choose if he wants to risk permnant injury working for the company - same as anyone else. As for why Mask chose to sign up when he knew how much risk it would be to him - he didn't have many other places to turn at the time. When Mask joined the company he was illiterate, dirt poor, recently released from prison and a recent amputee. The skills he'd used in life before the company to get by were things like hunting or theivery - things he needed both hands to do the way he knew how. Emotionally, he was at a point where he wanted to dedicate himself to something that he couldn't run away from. He knew the Brand would give him a new arm, and something of a purpose. I don't think theres any risk free choice he could have made.

Feral cat energy on that man. How'd he get all those scars and things?
Lmao idk how to take the "feral cat" comment. Most of ths scars are standard wear and tear, he's been a mercenary for over a hundred years, they're almost entirely battle wounds. Because this is DND theres more than standard blade wounds, some of them are from spells or fantasy weapons. He was on a campaign with the Brand, fighting Yaun-ti on a jungle continent, when he got he acid damage to the face. I do have stories attached to almost all of them, but we'd be here all day if I were to go through how he got all of them and I'm not sure you really want that.

I wanted to draw Mask uncovered, looking at some of his scars, wounds and tattoos. I'm just assuming this needs a tag for violence even though the gore isnt very realistic. I know some people have been following a while and seen a lot of my character Mask - but for those that havent. This is Mask, my dnd character, head of the spy department for a mercenary company - The Brand. He's cursed so that some of his wounds never heal (he doesn't yet know which parts of his body the curse effects or how fast its spreading). Drawn here for once without his prosthetic arm.

apparently forgot to share this! My character Mask got a uniorm upgrade to go with his rank of Senior officer (head of intelligence department). Its been very fun kind of working on different outfits and developments of this character over time!

Been replaying cult of the lamb lately, and since we're moving house I wanted to do a little postcard sized drawing for part of our games display. It's simple but I only have an hour or two at a time to draw atm.

I did a couple of character redraws which was partially "Wtf are those proportions" and partially "can I match the style of these and blend my art in." For Catwoman I think I blended her in quite well. Heavily referenced the lines here obviously since I wanted it to look like it matched but I did redraw from scratch.

For my partner - not any particular character or anything, just something kind of neon, a very specific vibe I dont have the words for.

This is one comic page just to play with some visual story telling elements. Its taken from a moment in a session 0 of the dnd campaign Im playing in, during the autopsy of my characters mentor.  It has its flaws, I’m not a compic artist, but I do like it quite a lot :)

Confused. Is your friend a man or a woman? You used both she and he when you mentioned them.
My friend uses she/her pronouns. Her character, Fracture, uses he/him. I used the relevant pronouns when talking about her vs her character.

I've never considered playing a disabled dnd character before! I love that the disability integrates into your characters aesthetic. The prosthetic is so personalised and so cool looking. Just one of those designs thats super solid and stays in the mind. From what you've said about the character before it sounds like he fits some of my favourite niches. Thanks for sharing and ignore the brainrot asks you've had before.
Thank you. Just, really thank you. I can't take all the credit for the latest design, my friend who is playing the party artificier, Fracture, very kindly jumped on a call with me and talked out ideas. Considering the arm is getting rebuilt in the story I wanted her to be involved, her character is the one thats going to make it and elements of his creative side should be there. This might be one of the first nice asks I've gotten about him - people get really hung up on his queer identity and the disability, and use that to frame how they view the snapshot I've shared. I know its a vocal few, but its still so nice to get this message.
