Some of your books make it seems like you believe in actual literal magic, do you? ()
I can write down a few words and make people thousands of miles away, whom I have never met and will never meet, laugh tears of joy and cry tears of true sorrow for people who do not exist and have never existed and never will exist. If that isn't actual literal magic I don't know what is.

~ A Moment
A moment may come and go without naught but a glance,
And yet may upon the mind impress an endless scar;
A chamber of remembrance that forever enshrined the wound
Which rots and turns and brings old pains anew
With the vigor and strength of a thousand new stings.
These tribulations of past experiences never cease nor fade
And in the glowing heart of heartaches cause,
sits a chair for ceaseless viewing of the moment
To ponder it's intricately designed despair in marvelous new ways.
Such is a moment's power when trust is shaken in the soul.

~ Loneliness is a Cellphone
Loneliness is a cellphone,
Connected to everyone
without a reason to speak.
Apps for likes and subscriptions,
stranger's praises for something
made in an empty room.
Services and fees
we pay for with our time
and courtesy,
only evidenced by "seen" and "read"
Loneliness is a cellphone,
filled with pictures
of people we know,
people we don't,
and those we never will.
Filled with numbers
that represent every absence
and every conspicuous void-
like a hit-list of friends
you won't hear from.
Loneliness is a cellphone,
a million chances to speak
and no reason to talk-
A thousand calls to make,
and no one to see-
A hundred people to like,
and no one to know-
A friend online,
and a single-word sentence.
Loneliness is a cellphone,
Fully charged---

~ Last Nights and Late Mornings
I kissed her on the head,
Flew through the night
As a mistress and a bedpost,
Knawing on vile choices
In a gloom stretching out before
A sun risen to shine
It's sorrowed eye upon
The writhing excesses
Of the wretched thing,
That which is me.
As the steeples, -
Their brightened spearheads
Held aloft to the coming Sun,
Welcome armies beneath their point,
My transgressions yearn
For the point to Pierce me,
A final church session
To learn to puke beautifully.
