"It's been a real slice!"

10 years! It's been 10 years! And Meg has started it all! :3

And in fact, the Meg on the left was repainted almost exactly 10 years ago! It was one late June or early July day that I looked at my Mattel Meg and just didn't see "Meg" in her. Which is why I did some research and found a pic by @lulemee of a different Meg doll - at first I thought it was another factory doll until I realized that she was in fact handpainted! And I loved it! So, having some acrylic paints and brushes myself I thought I'd give it a try. Well... I told the story several times and I think by now you might be able to see yourself what might've gone wrong with 2013-Meg :D

I did try to repaint another Mattel Meg a couple of times...some more or less finished, others I left as a work in endless progress. I just didn't like the Mattel head very much. I also tried to make a Meg out of other doll heads twice, with parts resculpted..but I never really finished anything until finally the disney store released several Meg dolls! I'll show you all of these so far unreleased but unfinished Megs soon, so stay tuned :3

So, after all these years, I finally dared to take on another Mattel head! And tbh with you, I did struggle a bit and restarted several times. I don't know what it is with this head, it's just cursed xD But I do actually like how Meg turned out in the end and I hope you like her too :)

I don't know about you..but I'm feeling 22 :D No for real, as a kid I thought that Derek and Odette already had their coronation to be king and queen when they married at the end of the first movie...they get the crowns at least and Odette technically would be the heir of her fathers kingdom. But I already got confused when the second movie came around and they still referred to both as prince and princess.

Well, whatever they were, now it's official: in the 11th movie they finally have their coronation! And Odettes dress, once again, was very inspiring to try another redrawing. As you might know from my previous redrawings...I just don't feel "Odette" when she has short sleeves :D The dress is very pretty though! Yet I tried to take more inspiration from her look in the original movie and kinda combined elements of her wedding dress with her "This is my idea"-dress, while still keeping a bit of the flower theme of the official dress.

Another thing I just couldn't accept is her heart necklace being silver instead of gold. Maybe it's supposed to be another necklace, but I feel like Odette wouldn't switch that one out and rather not wear any necklace at all.

While I get that it compliments the look it still felt wrong. In order to have another gold element in the look I used the same color for the gems on her crown...which is also borrowwd from her wedding look aaand also has another backstory that I thought of which I will come back to in the third and last redrawing, so stay tuned :3

So there's been a new Swan Princess sequel so naturally I had to do another one of these redrawings! It's been a while after all :3

The original picture is from the 11th CGI sequel "A Fairytale is born". And truth be told.. I genuinely enjoyed that one! Compared to the first couple of CGI movies the animation got better, the story felt fitting to the lore of the first movie and Nina Herzog again did an amazing job voicing Odette - and singing again this time around!

Now.. in order to enjoy that one you might have to watch most of the other CGI movies, as there are some characters that tie into these.

Anyway, even though the animation is better I thought we could still take a look at how Odette could've looked like if the movie was tradionally animated. I did the sketch by hand and colored it digitally, trying to stick to Odettes original color palette.

This one was quite simple, as she wears the dress she also had in the original movie - but don't be disappointed because there's more to come! There are two more of these I'll prepare that will be a bit more experimental regarding outfit choices and look. So stay tuned :3

Vanessa is always a lot of fun to work on - I actually started another one a while back, using Belle as the base. You can see her in my work in progress story highlights. She was basically supposed to look like the one you see right now - So maybe I'll use that Belle one to actually make a new Belle repaint one day :3

So here's the next addition to my personal signature dolls to celebrate my 10 years of repainting: Vanessa!

This time I tried to somewhat recreate the look I once gave her back in 2015, but using the new Vanessa doll from last year.

The old one found a new home long ago and was the very first one to do so! Due to this milestone Vanessa sure deserved to be part of my personal lineup :)

"Flipping your fins you don't get too far, legs are required for jumping, dancing. Strolling along down the - What′s that word again? Street!"

I told you in my last post we'd have something to celebrate this year. In fact there are quite a few things to celebrate: Frozen turning 10, Disney turning 100 and - drumrooooll! Me, repainting for 10 years :O can you believe it? Time truly flies and it doesn't even feel that long. Sure I took a couple of breaks in between but yeah, in the late summer of 2013 I repainted my first doll ever. Maybe you remember that one, maybe you don't. But don't worry, we'll have another look at the first one soon :3

To celebrate I chose dolls from the past 10 years that I kinda consider my personal signature dolls. Either they have a significant backstory attached to them, they mark some kind of milestone or they simply have a personal meaning to me.

I'll either create an entirely new version of each of the chosen dolls, like with Ariel here, or I'll try to recreate the look of the past work which will be fun :3

There won't be one doll from each year, simply because I don't see the need to update dolls from the more recent years. But there will still be two newer ones that will get another version :)

For now I'll focus on that plan but depending on my state of health and how far I progress with the anniversary dolls, I'd also love to repaint one or two entirely new dolls like Asha from Disney's upcoming 'Wish' (looking SO forward to that one 😻). I might also consider doing a new tutorial later this year as well as a give away if we reach the next instagram milestone 😏

Long time no see my friends :o I'm so sorry I was inactive for so long but I've been sick since late November and was physically not able to paint or to do anything useful really. I'm still not fully back to health but I'm finally able to slowly, very slowly get back into doing things - it's still very exhausting though.

Anyways, I hope you'll be patient with me as I still have to be very patient myself. But wait! We actually have to celebrate something this year :3 I'm gonna tell you all about that in my next post, so stay tuned :)

Happy third Advent Sunday everyone :3 it's snowing right now where I am so it's a perfect day to let Elsa show herself!

I just couldn't go a year without repainting any Elsa and this one is very special to me as I still love her coronation look the most and I only ever did one disneystore version forever ago which isn't in my collection anymore.

The before doll was a OFA Elsa that I bought for a buck at the fleamarket 3 or 4 years ago.. It's not the exact doll seen in the before pic, I just didn't take a proper before picture back then. But mine didn't come with clothes and part of her hair was chopped off so I had to reroot her. Due to the fact that I still had the coronation dress from the first deluxe set she just had to be in her coronation look :3

This summer I finally managed to repaint her, so she's been finished a while ago. But December seemed to be a more fitting time to post her :3

"I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss, and a prince I'm hoping comes with this.."

I remember you guys asked for her a couple of years ago when I shared some work-in-progress-dolls in my stories, and here she finally is: Giselle!

I actually started her all over, using a different head than the Ariel one you can see in my story highlights. I originally bought the Aurora head to try for Anastasia but I kinda got Giselle-vibes off of it so I wanted to use it for her instead (I wasn't really happy with the Ariel sculpt anyway..). The hair was also kinda an accident. It used to be sunlit blonde nylon hair by @dollyhairofficial which I originally dyed to match Pepa's shade.. But again, I got the Giselle-vibes :D

I'm a little late to the party but I finally managed to put the photos of Mirabel together that @sewtuft so kindly took for me :3 head over to her instagram to see the entire journey sewtuft took with creating this incredible doll. The dress and accessories are just beyond amazing and so detailed! I'm still super honered she let me do her face 💜

I ended up readjusting her hairstyle as well as it got a bit wild on the journey here. I hope I did justice to what @beautifuldisneydolls originally had in mind for her.

The last of my Anastasia trilogy :3 but if you've had an eye on my stories you already know there's more to come ;)

This one is very dear to me as she's technically also the very first Anastasia I did back in 2016. I used the exact same doll for the new one, removing the old paint and letting her glow up. I don't dislike the old doll but I guess you can definitely see the improvement of quality over the years, both in the paint and hair job as well as the photography. I actually dyed the hair of the 2016 one with acrylics and apparently I wasn't in the possession of gem stones for the choker necklace back then :D

Finally revealing number 2 of 3: Anastasia/Anya in her elegant look, ready to watch the russian balletAgain, this one was super fun to create! I wanted to give each of the Anastasia dolls a different expression and because I didn't want all of them to show their teeth, I painted her lips to look as if they are closed.I remember a childhood classmate of mine had the original Anastasia in that exact velvet version of the dress and I always envied her for it unfortunately I never had any Anastasia doll as a child
