My sister and I just completed these One of a Kind custom handmade 11" doll set of The Family Madrigal! They are fully customized, super detailed and all handpainted. The female members even have real eyelashes and lace trimmed pantalettes underneath their custom made dresses!! Their hair has been painstakingly styled to look just like they do in the movie! All 6 characters' attire are super detailed, with patterns and trimmings just like in the film, and where needed, enhanced with lace embroidery, flowers, along with faux gems and faux pearls. Bruno even comes with 2 small rat figures in his hands!

So I got up this morning and was making some coffee, when I spotted the tiny tea set my mom has by the window. Fleeting thought of "I wonder if my Bruno doll can hold one..."

A beat. Sip of coffee.

"OK, I have to know." So I grab the doll, and it fits on his thumb! Of course, the situation escalates, and I'm cackling at my toys, letting my coffee get cold.

I am actually so insane about Bruno Zero. He was born as a slave made to be hunted for sport and then forced to be a butler after he survived. And then Gallerian was the first person to treat him like a human being and free him from the Freezis family and even so he chose to become Gallerian's servant because he genuinely wants to be by his side. He compares their relationship with Allen and Rilliane's and says he would die for him. And even when everyone else leaves him and Gallerian starts accepting bribes from the family that enslaved him in the first place, despite saying that taking down the Freezis family was his deepest wish, he still stays because of how much he cares about him. My god, the WRITING!!!

At last, he is finished! My repaint of the Disney Bruno Madrigal doll is complete, and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Let's go over the flaws of the original, and how I fixed them. Remember, this is my repaint, and my interpretation. If you choose to do this yourself, feel free to veer off from what I did. Just have fun with it!

Now don't get me wrong, the head mold looks incredible! I really do love it, I just wish they hadn't given him such a dead stare, lol.

I mean, his eyes aren't even brown! One can argue all day long, but comparing his to that if his sister Pepa makes it quite obvious that he has green eyes. The eye bags are also tragically understated, lol.

It took so many layers of white to make them opaque and smooth enough for my perfectionism. Ngl, he kinda looks possessed XD

Who said doll customizing was always graceful? If Dollightfull has taught me anything, it's that this kind of project is... interesting.

Here's what the clothes looked like before. As you can see, lackluster at best. The sandals were also just a plain gray color.

I painted them brown, and also added the triangle design on the straps. (Also my signature on the bottom!)

Here are the clothes now! As you can see, I added buttons with globs of paint, a breast pocket, and a belt to the pants. This gives the illusion that the shirt is tucked into the pants, rather than it being one piece. The only change I made to the poncho was cutting the tassels, which made a big difference.

And here's the head and face! I painted a more realistic hairline, connected the facial hair print to the hairline, and added details to the beard. I completely repainted the eyes, and added blushing where needed. I also deepened the purple tones beneath his eyes.

Here he is, completely finished! I had fun with this, it was an interesting change. I'm also much happier with this than the original; he looks much closer to the movie version. Let me know what you think!

Encanto 2 Mára Doll

After the tweevils I thought to make another mockup of a doll concept this time of my Encanto oc Mára. I made 2 variants one regular and one "100th anniversary". Disney won't gain any money from this anyways and I need something physical for Mára since I talk about her a lot

Since she's Bruno's love interest she obviously wears green, but a dark green with purple as accent. This tricks the villain into thinking she could be the villain. The ombre skirt matches Mirabel's. Her design is sleek, chic and lacka the paterns and bright colors the rest of the Madrigals have. Essentially she is the modern city slicker to the Madrigal's traditional yet vibrant lifestyle.
