One thing I never see people talk about is in S4 when Aaravos possessed Callum and started speaking through him
Literally the first thing he did is turn to Zubeia and tell her she looked young and ravishing.
Dude showed up, possessed a child, hit on a dragon in front of her son, insulted everyone and then left
What the fuck

“My dear prince Azymondias…..” 💙⚡️
An redraw of an old TDP art I’ve did back in 2020. The Zubeia and Zym piece was probably one of my first TDP fanarts I’ve ever made and remains being one of my favorites still.
If Claudia didn’t exist, I could easily say Zubeia is my fave. She’s my second favorite character of all.

My Dragon Prince Boards season 5 part 2
(I love Soren, he is my golden boy <3)
Episode 505
The first sequence of the episode is mine, when Callum, Rayla, Zym and Ezran are talking about their next steps.
This one was hard because the space at the top of the Storm Spire is so Small the character barely fit, hahahaha.
I enjoyed 2 things the most about this sequence, first the little moments of Rayla and Callum on screen. Building and working trough their dynamic on the season was a fun challenge for all the board teams. I tried to channel "Proud older siblings" on this one (after all, look how much Ezran has grown!)
The other thing I enjoyed is the difference on their approach for Callum and Ezran. Callum choosing the "quicker" (?) option of killing Aaravos, Ezran staying firm on his ideals of no violence. A interesting dynamic.
My next sequence was with Zubeia and Soren.
I love Soren, he is hands off my favorite character of the show (Amaya and Janai are tied in a close second place!) Jesse Inocalla is a fantastic voice actor, his range is incredible!
I also love his relationship with Zubeia. This two are best friends, and no one can convince me of the opposite!
Next sequence is with Claudia and her team. Viren is awake, but catatonic, and Claudia is starting to lose hope.
Again, Terry is too good for this world <3
Next sequence is a Karim one. This little rat, I love/hate this man. This is a small sequence when he tells Pharos about his plan to get the Sun seed to heal Sol Regem. A funny thing to do in this episode was work on Karim's body language, keep him regal all the time, stiff and dramatic. A lot of controlled hand gestures, such an idiot <3
Then I had the sequence when they arrived to the Blood Moon temple.
Again, more dramatic shenanigans, and fun lighting. Karim is just a drama queen.
My last sequence of the episode was with corrupted Zubeia :(
So those where my sequences for episode 505. Next post will be for 508!

Let's talk about the parents in The Dragon Prince
I mean, many people know classic 'dead parents' trope, but in tdp almost all parents have a desire to sacrifice themselves and die (or 'die'). Like, the only living parent in the story currently is Zubeia. The exception is Lissa, Viren's wife, about whom there is not a word in the series except briefly in side stories and books, and Etari, who is literally ghosted (got it?) his adopted child.
Aanya's parents - tragic sacrifice
Rayla's parents? Tragic sacrifice (at least they're not completely dead)
Runaan? Same
Sarai? Tragic sacrifice
Avizandum? Yap
Even Ibis, if he can be considered a parental figure
Harrow? Sad man just tired of this shit
Viren? THIS GUY TRIED TO DIE LIKE 4 TIMES (titan mission, sacrifice for Harrow, got kicked off the mountain and divorce)
Even Zubeia considered giving up in her fever dream
This is not a criticism, just if you're going to have kids in Xadia, make sure you're a boring no name with a few lines and then maybe you won't die a tragic death to advance the story or your children’s personal arc, like Ellis's parents (she's surprisingly independent, maybe her parents are dead too, who knows)

some people’s negative critiques about the dragon prince are literally so fucking stupid like “why couldn’t they just do this so that wouldn’t have happened, they wouldn’t be in danger!” / “why was there so much deux de machina???” / “they could’ve just done that to make their lives easier!!!” / “x character made such a dumb decision”
it just makes me question, have you never, in your life, watched a fucking show? do you want the series to be two episodes long or something? how will the plot exist without some drama. the main characters are teenagers, they will make mistakes! and deux de machina has been a writing technique since before fucking christ, why are you so surprised about it being used now??

If the Xadian leaders had like a once-in-a-century tea party or something, Aaravos 110% flirted with Queen Aditi and Zubeia.
Aaravos: Zubeia! Ravishing as always, I see.
Avizandum: Get away from my mate, elf. *narrows his eyes*
Aaravos: oh? You're Zubeia's mate? *grins* how unfortunate for her.
(Can totally see these two disliking each other well before Aaravos' imprisonment xD)
