Its that time yet again boys, it's time for a new cosplay! This time I even made a full length build video to go with it!

This time it's Zora Salazar from Epithet Erased!

Huge thanks to my roommate for taking the pictures

In total this outfit took 106 hours to make, I dyed all the fabric in this outfit by hand, 3d modeled the gauntlets, guns, buttons, and all the other parts that couldn't be made with fabric. The lining is machine embroidered while the strips on the arms are hand embroidered. And now to highlight all the little details that aren't normally visible. For starters the lining of the poncho

Making this outfit I knew I wanted it to tell a story. I had the idea of making the lining of the poncho look like it was an old blanket that zora turned into a poncho. I asked jello what zora's favorite color was and he told me it was sunset yellow. So with that in mind I tore the lining up and sewed in some sunset yellow patches that I made using some fabric scraps. I also wanted zora's entire outfit to be able to change colors in the sun to reflect her sun powers.

For instance look at the color difference in the poncho between inside and outside. While all of the details change colors the sun is the most noticable. I also added a lot of details in like weathering. My favorite example of this is on the gauntlets and guns

And last but not least for details I want to mention is the scarf, spurs and hat.

The scarf took approximately 4 hours to cover both sides with the gold flower and leaf design. The spurs where a mix or filiment printing for the base and resin printing for the spike and caps. While not a true wolf I thought zora fit the maned wolf best due to their reputation for smelling, solitary hunting, and long legs. I also gave zora's outfit an overall sunflower motif for obvious reasons.

Black Clover Cafe AU

Based on a silly little post.

(Note: I’m not actually that well versed in cosplay restaurant culture. This is mostly just a shitpost. For funsies.)

Secre Swallowtail is the owner of Black Bird, a popular butler cafe.

Men in crisp, black suits. Varnished wood furniture. Fancy European style tea sets and table settings. There’s even a glasswork chandelier. It’s your typical aristocratic atmosphere for a butler cafe.

The men working at Black Bird aren’t just dressed as butlers but they also are assigned certain attitudes or archetypes to play into. Some are just kind of an exaggerated version of their normal selves while others really have to enter a character.

Sukehiro Yami is a “bodyguard” butler. A lot of his lines and mannerisms play up a protective persona. For example, he can ask to put an arm around a customer to guard them on their way to a table. He is also actual security for the cafe and has punched a guy unconscious to protect the customers. He’s the most popular butler.

Asta is the clumsy, “new hire” butler. He’s supposed to act meek and apologetic as he tries extra hard to serve customers. Also he’s not actually allowed to drop anything. At most he can bump into a chair or table (but NEVER a customer).

Finral is of course the flirty butler. Acting so suave for customers. He gives each lady a flower (never the same one twice in a row and they change with the seasons). His lines include him muttering “ah, but an esteemed lady/lord like you shouldn’t be seen with a lowly butler like myself.” Super cheesy stuff.

Gordon is the mysterious type of butler. He’s allowed very few “lines” outside of the standard “Welcome milady/master” or “As you wish.” It’s part of his charm, allowing customers to wonder what such a quiet, polite man like him is thinking. He gets extra points for being the only butler with prominent make-up (his black lipstick and eyeliner isn't as heavy as it appears in canon).

Henry is the sweetest of sweetheart butlers, the deredere if you will. He’s never failed to make a customer smile. Gives lots of compliments, similar to Finral, but with platonic intent. He’s also the one who writes the menu, making everything sound as delicious as possible.

Gauche is the harsh, “tsundere” butler. Instead of saying “it’s not like I like you” he would say “I didn’t choose to serve you.” 😆 But he always follows up with a small smile and “But I’m happy to do so now.” Also serves as security for the cafe.

Zora’s butler persona is meant to be a bit of a sadist. He gets to have a bossy attitude with customers. “You will drink this tea and you will like it” or “What makes you think I’ll take your order?” are things he might say. “Mocks” customers for how much they rely on him.

Nacht’s archetype in the cafe is basically a possessive yandere. Warns customers not to let any butler but him serve them and to appreciate all his hard work, because he only does it for them.

Fuegoleon plays an stern butler, not smiling and always insisting on his “duty” to the clients. He speaks very kindly to customers despite that. He has to fight back smiles because customers are so happy to see him and that makes him happy.

William is a straightforward gentleman archetype. Bowing and pulling out chairs, stuff like that. One gimmick he has is reciting poetry to customers. He’s the second most popular butler at the cafe.

Rill’s butler persona is haughty and a perfectionist. Always claiming his service and even those he serves are a cut above the rest. He also will occasionally play the piano to enhance the classy atmosphere.

Nozel is almost a blend of Gauche and Fuegoleon, stern like Fuegoleon and abrasive like Gauche but also displays an aloofness that neither portray. He's genuinely surprised with the popularity of his frigid persona. He was originally set in the “yandere” role before Nacht came along (and he’s very glad to be out of it).

Yuno isn’t a waiter. He’s too shy for it so he cleans up after customers (still dressed as a butler for aesthetics). Customers are really upset that he never serves as a waiter.

Magna and Luck definitely aren’t butlers either. They’re in the kitchen stacking and cutting sandwiches, as well as baking the various desserts on the menu.

Klaus and Marx are in charge of the drinks. Marx mostly works with the teas while Klaus focuses on the types of coffee they carry. There are non caffeinated drink options but the tea and coffee is highlighted as part of the aesthetic.

Jack is the head chef of the establishment. From the quiches for lunch to the pan-fried meats for dinner, Jack's got it covered. He's also got his fancy knife work which turns plain fruits and veggies into works of art.

Secre makes sure the uniforms get changed every once in a while to match the season.

Each employee actually goes by a different name while at work to protect their identities. That goes for the kitchen staff too despite never being seen in the front of house.

Nacht actually has extra identity protection by wearing a wig since outside of work, he’s actually still bleaching his hair like a delinquent.

Also, each employee has a “signature dish” on the menu based on their butler persona and a food they actually like.

everybody talks in their normal voice, no character voices, no additional accents

alan tudyk is just every background character that would be a recycled model. daniel exhausts his dialogue options and alan just repeats himself like four times. daniel walks away and someone else asks alan a question and he repeats himself again and is like 'wait you're someone else, hang on' and starts his dialogue tree over in the background

Andrew Koji plays sheik and Kristen Schaal claims he was her the whole time and Daniel's like, 'no it definitely wasn't' and she's like 'yeah it was, you just didn't recognize me because i put my hair up. i'm very clever.'

The Great Deku Tree is a puppet voiced by Sir Ian McKellan. Patrick Stewart plays Kepora Gebora. While Ian is trying to impart the legend, Patrick keeps interrupting him with corrections until the Deku tree up and dies in protest. Patrick takes this as a win. Daniel is horrified.

Will Ferrel plays the King of Hyrule. I have no guidance for this one it just feels right.

Kepora Gebora turns into Rauru and Rauru is played by Christopher Walken

Kumaildorf is just trying to get a teensy bit of world domination, as a treat, is that so much to ask

OK SO. poking around the property of hate comic yes yes. BUT BOTW OCS??????

i dont have a lot (yet) but i do have some! and some are more for funsies than others

first ones!!!!! the court poet and kass’s mother! i have an unfinished sketch of these two. the poet probably went a lot with zelda for shekiah tech escapades, so he probably knew purah robbie and link by proxy. i think hes heard of impa but hasnt really Met met her.

kass says that the poet knew a bit about ancient civilizations, though i dont know if he was actually interested in them? im taking this as he studied rigorously on them for a bit until being a poet/creating art became more of his priority. also because im not having link and zelda be interested in each other romantically thatll beg the question if the poet is still classist, which is a very funny thing to say out of context! for me i think he still is, its just more of an internal thing. (though i dont know how that will work with his upbringing? also i dont know how thatd work in general- in botw there wasnt really an upper class ? maybe the soldiers or knights were but the rich arent really depicted in that game (which makes sense considering the calamity), but i dont know how id translate into pre-cal. are class structures Exclusive to castle town and the closer you are to the castle the more likely nobility will exist. does the same apply for other races like the zora or gerudo..) i think he was raised in castle town but wanted to learn more about his heritage as a sheikah

kass’s mother is Just Some Guy. shes skilled in the sword, cannot play the accordion to save her life, and i like to think she was a mail person. she would probably do things reserved for warrior rito without permission and simply outrun consequences if there were any (likely social consequences, but otherwise i dont know how theyd stop her). she and the poet are friends (no i dont know how they met yet, and no i do not know how itd work with classism. the poet thinks kass’s mother is the Odd One Out and the rest are filthy low-life peasants or something and she sucker punches him. however they would still be friends despite the classism . being friends with the poet but shes shaking her head constantly to show she doesnt condone being nobility)

next is sheik! they r here more for fun than anything else. i think they were a shekiah assassin/warrior who just really liked sheik from the legends so they strived to be just like them. basically a teen finding out about naruto and consistently cosplaying as kakashi for the rest of school (/positive). they have a Mysterious and Cool persona, like the know more than they do, however that is a complete lie and if anyone spent more than a second of time with them Theyd Know. so to avoid that sheik basically just dodges social interaction the best they can. i dont think most people know they exist as theyd probably be a knight guard and guard in inconvenient places. i also like to think that theyd guard/spy on link specifically, but that depends on how important you think the royal family would view the hero/master sword as, and how paranoid youd think theyd be. otherwise every time theres no guards except link dont worry its simply shiek theyre just out of view of the camera hiding behind a rock or something similar

i also have links mom and aryll, though i dont have too much to say on them. they have roots in lurien/faron (and that may? be apparent once i design them including link) but i hc that they live in hateno and link visits yearly. aryll is younger and keeps asking for impractical souvenirs. stuff from savage lynel gear thats too heavy for her to carry or a brick from the castle. she’d think mipha is the coolest person on the planet, and would want to learn spears because of it. she’d also want to meet the champions and keep asking link to bring them over (he does not </3). but otherwise shes doing her own thing. she probably knows sword stunts/tricks due to link but isn’t knowledgeable in fighting itself. if someone Were to fight her she’d simply bite them <3. losho harbor is probably a notable spot for Family bonding (boat rides or sand structure making) however yeah not too much to say! good mom and good sister

the rest is misc ocs i know Exist but have done 0 (zero) things for . this includes making characters for. basically knights, maids, townsfolk, and people who have relationships with the champions (like mentors or friends). yeag 👍

Was bitching to a friend about how often beast races get shafted in fantasy. BOTW/TOTK: We only see TWO zonai, the rito's town and population are TINY, the zora /are/ better off tho sadly totk fucked up the story there. Elder Scrolls: No main series beastman game yet (online doesnt count), you cant even marry any khajit in Skyrim. Been watching a friend play Sun Haven and the "monster" bachelors are just a dude with wolf ears/tail and a dude with horns. Feel like most beast races are just furries or humans with beast parts. Female beasts are always humanized the fuck out of. It's just so tiring and boring!! I'm sick of humans and elves and dwarves and shit!! "Humans are interesting bc they're resilient despite their short lives and brave and blahblah--" do not care!! I am a furry I wanna see interesting new races!! The guy in my icon is a shrimp man!!

It's like 'my goodness, you have a fantasy setting and you prioritize the humans. Sure, alright'

And this isn't like a recurring conversation that I see in online D&D spaces (i.e.: 'Really? All the creative power in tabletop gaming and you choose to be a human? Fuck out of here')

But more 'if you are presenting a piece of media in a fantasy or scifi setting and you establish that there are many different races and worlds/cities in that setting... Just to force the player/viewer/reader to spend 85% of their time with humans... Why did you even bother adding in the other races/worlds/cities?'

And everyone already knows my feelings on 'Instagram Cosplay Thot #93'-style monster/nonhuman design, so we don't have to retread that.

Op-Ed: Megan Thee Stallion Is Owed a Massive Apology From Too Many Black Folks

Black folks, we need to have a real chat.

Today, after a whirlwind trial filled with inaccurate reporting and malicious viewpoints, a jury found Canadian rapper Tory Lanez—born Daystar Peterson—guilty on all three charges in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Specifically, he was found guilty of assault with a firearm, negligent discharge of a weapon and possession of a concealed and unregistered firearm in a vehicle. 

Zora Neale Hurston once wrote, “if you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.” Although she spoke of the silence of Black figures and voices by way of white supremacy, the Black community exerted this same violence in the case of Megan Thee Stallion. 

It's true that we often shy away from critiquing ourselves—meaning our community—as we receive a great deal of finger-pointing externally, but we cannot continue moving like this. This message is direct to you, Black people. 

Leading up to this trial, Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, was met with such vitriol and disgusting hate for her decision to come forward against Peterson. As a result, she received death threats, has been slut-shamed, and was questioned about whether or not she was harmed and wrongfully disrespected for something she did not do to herself. Above all, an enraging level of misogynoir—a deeply inherent contempt, prejudice and dislike of Black women—was displayed across our community by not just Black men, but Black women and gender non-conforming folks as well. 

This hatred of a Black woman with status, popularity and security in her being is not uncommon though. Famed track star FloJo even experienced it at the height of her career. There is a certain threat felt about Black women with the aforementioned traits as it goes against the constructed notions of subservience expected of her, both traditionally and historically. 

This is a devastatingly overdue conversation we need to have in our community and not shy away from. As Malcolm X observed, the most disrespected person in America is the Black woman. Comedians cosplaying and mocking the worst parts of our women, the Tyler Perry shows that are unforgivingly crude in their depictions of us, and the misogynoir think pieces, podcasts, social media posts and blogs—they all profit off the disrespect of Black women. 

If you are familiar with Megan's story, then you are aware of the compounded hardships she has experienced, especially as of lately. In court, she admitted to even having suicidal ideations because of the treatment she has gotten from people. This is unacceptable. 

Is the placement of Black men on pedestals more important than the livelihood and well-being of others in our community? 

This is not to say that the Black man is not deserving of protection, but it does not evade the need for total accountability. From the #MeToo Movement to women's rights, it seems that the over-glorification of Black men has emboldened many, regardless of gender, to be dismissive of the lived experiences of Black women. And we know where this comes from and what it is rooted in. But it does not mean that we cannot evolve or progress past such archaic thinking. We can no longer choose to stand by folks simply because of our connection to Blackness. It's not an "anti-Black Man agenda" or a need to vilify them. This behavior that our community has incessantly normalized is harmful and almost cost a young woman her life and dignity.

Now that Peterson has been found guilty, after two years of people caping for him blindly and wishing ill against the "Hot Girl," she deserves so many apologies from so many of us in the Black community. 

All in all, Megan needed our support and too many of us failed her. Outside of the persona of who she is, Megan Thee Stallion is a Black woman who was victimized and ridiculed for coming forward about her mistreatment. Instead of being shown love and compassion, rappers wrote diss tracks about her, Black women shunned her from their so-called beloved sisterhood and unsolicited judges of public opinion deemed her unworthy of justice and care. 

Unfortunately, this decision regarding Tory Lanez/Daystar Peterson will not bring her peace or real justice. She will continue to be seen as an outcast by a vast amount of people globally although she was the one shot. 

Let this trial be a lesson about the importance of discernment when it comes to the media sources we consume, the words that come out of our mouths and a reminder to question your internalized misogynoir when situations like this occur. Analyze the ways in which you perpetuate hatred against Black women, may it be purposefully or not, so that you can properly show up for the Black women in your own respective lives. 

No matter what happens after this guilty verdict, we should hope and pray that Megan Thee Stallion is uplifted by genuine people who hold her in the highest regard and will protect her.

I’m sure we all would’ve loved to see a black journalist get this same level of attention and accolades but that’s just not how it worked out. Urban media took Tory’s side despite his piss poor case. You anti bw cocksuckers have nothing to blame but yourselves Y’all dropped the ball heavily.

And that goes for urban media/black celebs that never acknowledged the situation until after the verdict was read. Not one of those fake af journalists urban /black media outlets nor those biiich arss celebrities (50 cent, Drake and akademics among others. )was correct throughout this whole time only a white woman was getting respect for being ethical and honest.

This case could have really been the one to open the door for black journalists! But instead they wanted to be the first with the "tea" an be apart of the trauma already being invoked upon a black woman while sucking on the peen of a violent degenerate

These gossip girlies and these biiich arss celebrities are going to the deepest pits of hell and for what? Two years of slutting themselves out for a little demon with violence tendencies and toxic masculinity? Talk about Huge opportunity wasted a disgrace and insult to credible and legendary black journalists and a disappointment to hardcore fans of faves who were willingly throwing away hard work and integrity to be such a whore for a demonic little man and dehumanize a bw smh!
