Other moments Boromir acted as a father to Merry and Pippin
Pairing: Boromir + Merry & Pippin
Requested: Yes (This is not exactly a reader insert , i don't know if you may want to write it but i'm asking anyways just in case you would. If you don't it's ok. I was going to ask you if you could write something about Boromir acting like a father to Merry and Pippin. I love those moments and we got so few of Boromir in the films. Thank you anyways. Your blog is very cool) -Anonymous
This is my first time writing a non reader insert fic. Hopefully it’s not so bad. This is also my second fic where Boromir is alive and never died. Just for this to work. Also, to the anon that requested this, hopefully the ending was decent enough. I didn’t know where to end it
When Boromir arrived to Rivendell to attend the secret council, he did not expect to be placed in a group of nine to assist Frodo in destroying the ring the same day. And befriending Merry and Pippin was definitely not what he was planning before they left Rivendell.
Merry and Pippin were the most sociable of the four hobbits. They never stop talking. Each day, they talk to all 7 other fellowship members. Some of the members can go a few weeks without speaking to each other. Merry and Pippin were not exactly the best at giving advice, but they were definitely good at making you laugh if they wanted to.
The two hobbits found Boromir to be the easiest to talk to if they weren’t speaking to Frodo and Sam. It wasn’t that they didn’t like the other members, they simply found Boromir the easiest. Most likely because he was the only one who not only listens to their ramblings, but even comments on it.
Over time, Boromir grew to care for them, to the point that he would sometimes forget Merry and Pippin are adults, not children. But they didn’t really care, they enjoyed the affection they were getting.
Right now, the two hobbits were running for their lives after Pippin threw a tomato right at Gandalf’s face. “Fool of a Took!” Boromir heard Gandalf scold, and he saw Merry and Pippin panting.
“Boromir!” Merry panted out, Pippin doing the same next to him, “He wouldn’t listen! I tried telling him to not mess around, but he only dragged me into this!” He referred to Pippin.
“Don’t mess around, Pippin,” sighed Boromir, and slung his arms around their shoulders, “all your giggling could draw an orc’s attention.”
“But Merry and I miss home, the Shire. And we mess around in the Shire. If we want to feel better, we have to do something that makes us feel at home. So we mess around here to feel at home.” Pippin reasoned, and Boromir gave a small smile.
“You don’t have to risk putting us in danger just because you miss home,” said Boromir, “I understand how you feel. If you’re homesick, you can always talk to me. It took me 110 days to get to Rivendell from Minas Tirith. And I went alone. At least you both have each other. And Frodo and Sam. To remind you of your own memories back home.”
“Whenever I’m not out doing something, I would mess around with my own brother as well, even if he didn’t really like what sorts of pranks I pulled on him. But you are on a quest, and the outcome will either be you live or it’s the end of the world, you can’t be so foolish when there are so many things, not just orcs, trying to kill us, and it is a serious situation. That does not mean you can’t be cheerful at all, it just means don’t be loud. And playing around is being loud and drawing attention to yourselves.” He continued.
Merry and Pippin nodded. “But sometimes we can’t help ourselves.” Pippin admitted. “I know you can’t at times, but try to control yourselves. And try not to touch anything.” When Boromir said the last sentence, he turned to Pippin, giving him a stern look.
-
“They took the little ones!” Boromir cried, running to Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas after he killed the one Uruk hai that was he was fighting. “Calm down, we will find them.” Aragorn said calmly, unsure what their next plan is. If the remaining Fellowship hadn’t figured out Boromir developed a soft spot for the two hobbits, they definitely already knew now.
Boromir had never been more distressed than he was at that very moment. He was defending Merry and Pippin well enough, then Lurtz the Uruk Hai came out of nowhere and decided to fight Boromir himself, starting by giving the man a good punch, throwing him off, and the orcs got enough time to kidnap Merry and Pippin.
Everyone was tired. They knew they couldn’t rest all day, but some of the wounds Boromir got from the fight were starting to make him feel sick, so they all sat for a couple of minutes before Aragorn spoke up again. “We will not leave Merry and Pippin to torment to death. We travel light. Let’s hunt some orc.” He declared, and Gimli cheered and Boromir smirked, and the Four Hunters ran into the forest.
-
Merry and Pippin, high after smoking pipeweed, were laughing together after telling each other a terrible joke. They turned their heads and grinned to see Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli on horses, approaching them.
“Welcome, my lords. To Isengard!” Merry cheered, standing up and doing a dramatic pose. Aragorn and Boromir gave each other a glance before smiling.
“You young rascals!” scolded Gimli, “that was quite a merry hunt you gave us. And we come here to see you- feasting and- smoking?!” Pippin looked at Gimli. “We are sitting, on a field of victory, enjoying a few well earned comforts. The salted pork is particularly good.” He stated.
“Salted pork?” Gimli asked, bewildered. Gandalf can be heard mumbling. “Hobbits.”
“We’re under orders, from Treebeard, who has taken over management, of Isengard.” Merry said.
-
“It’s great to see you alive, Boromir,” Merry said, holding onto him, “We grew worried about you, we actually thought that Uruk-hai killed you that day.”
Boromir chuckled. “I see you don’t have a lot of confidence in me, Merry. I am completely alive and well, as you already know.”
“I never doubted you for a second!” Merry exclaimed, feeling accused.
-
After the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, Boromir and Pippin frantically ran out to the fields again, looking for Merry. They were told to leave the dead, but Merry was nowhere to be seen. If he really was dead, they needed to at least know. Either way, they weren’t going to leave Merry out there alone.
Pippin recognized a familiar figure and started running to it. Boromir heard him running off, turned and recognized it to be Merry. He ran to help Pippin push the body laying on Merry aside, and Pippin held Merry as he looked at his slightly bloody face. “Merry! It’s us, Pippin and Boromir!” He pleaded for him to wake up, shaking him slightly.
Merry groaned a bit and opened his eyes, squinting a little bit. “I knew you two would find me.” He said quietly.
“Yes.” Pippin agreed, and Boromir didn’t say anything, only giving Merry a small smile and a nod.
“Are you going to leave me?” Merry asked, worried. They both shook their heads, to his relief. “No, Merry. We will look after you.” Pippin responded, and Boromir picked Merry up, giving him a piggyback ride while Pippin followed.
In the House of Healing, Pippin sat with Merry, while Boromir was speaking to his brother, relieved that Faramir somehow managed to survive despite being pierced with a couple arrows and their father tried burning him.
-
Merry begged Pippin to not go to the Black Gate.
“Believe me, Merry, I would never want to leave you, but this is for Frodo and Sam, to buy them some time.” Pippin told him. “If helping our friends means sacrificing myself, then I will gladly do it.” Boromir then came behind Pippin, which told him it was time for him to go. Merry looked at the now Steward of Gondor.
“Take care of him, look after him for me, please.” Merry begged, because everyone knew how much of a mess Pippin can be at times.
“I will. I won’t ever let you down on that, Merry.” Boromir reassured. He ruffled Merry’s hair, and then patted Pippin’s head as they turned and left the House of Healing, to make their way to the Black Gate.
-
Frodo woke up, in a white room dressed in all white. He sat up, only to see Gandalf in front of him. “Gandalf?” He mumbled, as last time he knew, Gandalf died when he fell. Gandalf only smiled and started laughing.
Soon after, Merry and Pippin appeared at the doorway. They stopped when they saw him awake, then ran straight to him, engulfing him in a tight hug. A few seconds later, Boromir was next to appear, smiling slightly. Frodo grinned when he saw him, telling the man Frodo already forgave him about the one time he tried to take the ring from him.
Behind Boromir was Gimli, who was cheering and clapping at the same time. Then Legolas appeared, and Aragorn came in as well. A few minutes later, Sam arrived, only stopping at the doorway. Frodo and Sam stared each other, then smiled at seeing each other.

Next Caller Pt 31
Tumblr media
The door bell ringing had the birds all wishing you safety on your travels once again after their third inspection of the new beds making Dot and Darling curious for who might be sleeping in those beds when you lived alone instigating stories from Belly of the small family you had far away. Upon opening your door you flashed a grin to the man you didn’t know only to watch him accept hold of your bag while Fili and Kili popped out of the open door of the van shouting, “Come on Jaqi! Uncle’s at the airstrip already!”
Nodding your head you stepped out locking up the front door after confirming that you had locked all the others and covered the windows aside from the ones looking into the back yard then turned to join the others in the van. Grinning again you eased past the front row to sit in the back beside a duo of teens you didn’t know locked in a debate with the trio behind them making you look out at your house hoping the whole clan wasn’t this way. “So, Auntie, heard about your new beds.” Kili’s grin split wide in Fili’s deep smirk.
Turning your head you stammered, “Beds, I have beds.”
Fili asked, “Uncle Dwalin said you got six new ones?”
“Um, nine, actually, four bunk beds and five platform frames.”
Kili nodded, “So no mattresses yet?”
“Just for the bunk beds, but that was only because I wouldn’t be able to get them in myself, it was part of the offer that they would put them in for me after building it.”
Fili, “Well the sooner you get them the sooner we can crash at your place.”
Kili, “But no rush either, can’t rush perfection.”
The argument picked up and you said, “I thought Mal would be riding with you.”
Fili shook his head, “No, she stayed at Bilbo and Dwalin’s last night to park her scooter in their garage for the trip, meant to rain while we’re gone.”
“And there’s room for us all?” The pair chuckled and you said, “Right, first woken, bound to have an old home.”
Kili said, “Don’t you worry Auntie, tons of room.”
Fili asked, “So Dot’s pleased with Roac?” Clearly changing the subject.
You nodded, “Yes, the other day said she might not, draw it out, I think, was how she put it. She does like him it seems.”
Fili, “Cool, cool. Uncle said when their young are grown we might choose from them.”
“I don’t mean to-,” They nodded to convince you to keep going when you stopped talking, “Are you home enough? I mean I doubt they would take well to pits at races. Too loud, isn’t it?”
Kili chuckled, “We would have to adjust things for them surely, might have to wait for the second clutch perhaps, but they wouldn’t want for-,”
You shook your head, “That’s not what I meant. Just, I know how hard Belly took to my long shifts at first. And I know how badly they might make you pay for it.”
They chuckled again and Fili said, “Ah, yes, we’ve seen the wrath of Ravens, Amad’s had to be one of the moodiest when Adad’s was courting her. From the tapes she was unrivaled in fury.”
“Almost makes you wonder how they manage to mate at all.” Making them chuckle again. The rest of the way they asked more questions about the Aviary and their take on how your birds were thriving.
Joining other vans you pulled into the private airport entrance eyeing the silver blue and black plane nearly the size of a commercial plane by your guess. Following the brothers you led the bickering siblings who made their way over to Bombur’s brood, curiously following the pair you entered the smaller security point seeing your bag being wheeled in on a cart. Lost in the mix of people you waited in the line only to step forward seeing the teens being called away quickening you through the security point. A beep from the metal detector however had you flashing a grin to the curious security attendant who you stepped aside for them to wand you. For a moment the crowd stole glances only to shift their gaze to ripple the word of the flash of your belly revealing the piercings earning an awkward throat clearing and hand gesture from the guard freeing you to move on.
Past that you claimed your satchel again easing your necklace into it again and joined the Durins past that point in the mini lobby where Frerin came out of nowhere easing his arm around your back saying, “Sis, we have your ticket.” Up to the desk you went handing over your ID that once scanned you took back along with your printed ticket making Frerin rumble while the sticker for your suitcase was being tagged, “You’re in our row.”
“Our?” You asked joining him in his gentle grip leading you out onto the actual runway in the line to board.
“So I hear from Dwalin you have a hell of a surprise for us.”
“I suppose, ya.” Peering up at the steps anchored beside the plane you inhaled then took the first step following the line of backs into the plane.
Nearly to the back you turned to your left spotting Roac in Thorin’s lap in a carrier squawking out to you, “Jack Rabbit!”
“Hey Roac,” shifting your gaze you flashed a quick grin to Thorin, who you squeezed around his legs he spread out so you could take the seat in the middle then sat so when Thorin stepped out Frerin could walk past you easily in the tuck of your legs up to your chest.
When the pair settled again you looked to Thorin as he asked, “I heard construction went well?”
You nodded and said, “Ya, they did a great job, and with the bunk beds they had three feet left on the wall so they said they’d add some shelves to fill in the space.”
Thorin, “That’s great.”
Frerin asked as you settled your satchel under your seat, “Anything else new?”
Dwalin in the aisle as you sat back again said to his cousin, “No spoilers now, you can wait to find out like the rest of them.” Flashing you a wink while Bilbo and Frodo took the row to your left.
“Is it just your family on here?”
Thorin replied, “Well, Dis, Vili and his sisters are taking the train, same as our two other far along expecting Dams.”
Glancing up you flashed a wave to Gloin responding to his and smiled at Gorgo as she said, “Hi, Miss Pear.”
“Hi.”
“We can talk later,” she said passing you to settle in her seat.
The eager tone making you whisper to Thorin, “Have I done something?”
Thorin shook his head, “No.”
Frerin, “No doubt just eager to get to know you better.”
Thorin, “Don’t worry, we won’t let her hound you on the show again.”
Frerin had you looking back at him in the starting of the engines, “Until then, we have a great family favorite film.”
It was just a few minutes and you were taxiing out for take off and almost instantly Thorin’s free hand engulfed yours on your lap for a sudden ascent luring a squeak from Mal signaling that she and the boys were somewhere ahead of you. Once in the air Roac settled back onto his belly and he rippled into a series of questions asking about Dot and anything you might have learned about her habits or favorites he might embrace on his visit on Monday.
Not long after when the film kicked on he turned to speak with Dwalin’s raven allowing Frerin to help you bring out and put on your headphones to watch the film still with Thorin refusing to let go of your hand. Just buzzing with questions and all he wanted to talk about after just missing a single day talking to you. The contact was enough for now and smirking to himself Frerin caught your narrowed gaze and shift closer to his brother’s arm to focus on the film only to grab his elbow when it suddenly cut off for the landing video.
Tumblr media
A gentle squeeze on your hand later and you shifted up a bit removing your headphones that you added to the seat pocket in front of you while Thorin and Frerin did the same. Safely you touched down and mingled through the crowds of Durins used to the task of filing out into the next fleet of vans. Though between the identical duo you filed onto your own row for the ride to their family home in Erebor dubbed their Summer Home. Past a long stretch of green you leaned forward in front of Frerin deepening his smirk that split open in a laugh as you eyed the yellow palace of a summer home and muttered, “Summer home. And I’m a hippo.” Looking at Thorin you said, “Summer home.”
Awkwardly he grinned at you, “I never said summer home.”
Looking out the window again you sighed, “I suppose I can’t say much as I inherited a castle on an island.” Glancing at Frerin, “Know anyone that wants to buy an island? Kind of hard to sell…”
Frerin chuckled, “Might as well hold onto it, never know when you need an island to fly off to.”
“It’s surrounded by volcanoes, half the year you can’t fly there.” They looked at you as you said, “There’s an underwater railway.”
Thorin rumbled, “How does that work?”
“Not well, keeps flooding.” Making the pair chortle, “And no one sails there, kept getting shot at.”
Frerin, “So you need a good boat, yacht maybe. We have a few in the family that are always up for borrowing.”
With a shrug you replied, “Doubt I’d ever get time away, takes three weeks to sail there from Tirion.”
Into the grand courtyard you were driven and seeing the man with the large beard topped with a zigzagging set of beard accents in a powder blue shirt and tan pants beside a heavily bearded Dam in a flowy pale blue dress. “She’s wearing a dress.” Beside them a younger duo in similar styled clothes, though the female clearly a Dwobbit by her larger feet and shorter stance, “And so is she.”
Frerin patted your hand on your lap saying, “You are dressed well. Jean shorts and a flannel is your look.”
Thorin, “We’re all in jeans.” Opening the carrier allowing Roac to fly out with one of the teens exiting to take the carrier to add to the to others.
Huffing quietly you climbed to your feet and joined the others out into the courtyard, or at least that was the intention, stepping on a seatbelt dangling lowly your foot slid and behind you Thorin’s arm scooped around you making you squeak in your near fall. Just a moment he held you in your awkward stance while Frerin turned to free your foot in Thorin’s stepping down before the pair righted your shirt and hair with Gimli behind you passing you back your bag you dropped. “Thanks,” you whispered and the trio nodded as the elders on the steps waiting to greet you took in the momentary embrace and the settling of Thorin’s hand on your lower back guiding you along to join the others again. Hints of grins spread with corners of mouths ticking up in the noticed gesture and attention that the supposed bachelor for life had shown you as you adjusted the necklace that most had already heard whispers about from Thorin.
Tumblr media
Each of the four on the steps greeted each guest and welcomed all of you. Once your trio had reached them you flashed a grin to the four between the hugs the brothers gave their relatives. Then eyes shifted to you and Thror stated, “Miss Pear, we’ve heard so much about you.”
Thrain asked, “Or should we call you Mafioso?”
“Up to you.”
Diaa asked, “What do you think of our family home?”
“I like your, fountains, very exploding, really goes with the, yellow, stone.”
Niro chuckled and said, “Well I look forward to speaking more with you at the dame dinner tonight.”
“Dame?”
Thror smirked saying, “Our ladies have supper together on our opening night and we group together for desserts in our back balcony ballroom.”
“That another donkey day thing?”
Diaa chuckled saying, “Not a Dwarf tradition but one for our clan. Do not worry Dis has ensured you are at our table along with young Mal for familiar faces.”
“Thank you, guess I’ll, ya,” the group tried not to chuckle in your continuing up the steps to the door where you spotted Dis waving to you.
Dis’ grin spread and she called out, “Jaqi, come see place.” On the landing you caught her waving her hand to the guys saying, “Off you go you two, dames only.” Looping her arm with yours while you glanced back unable to spot Mal, with only Gorgo hugging the welcoming four to trot up the steps following after you both. “Now, quick tour, I know you will love our inner garden especially, it’s where we keep our Raven dwellings, similar to yours I hear. We have seen the video of your Zebra Striped in his mating dance, we are all so glad that his line is continuing.”
“Ya, well Darling really is the one they were glad to have mated so well.”
“Darling?” she asked with an adoring grin and you nodded.
“Yes, she’s older, actually refused non striped suitors before, so catching Belly in the video chat for the owls was just by chance really. Though I do have to admit,” lowering your voice her grin seeped a bit deeper, “It was a bit hard to watch his dance.”
At that she giggled, “It always is, just wait until Roac pleases Dot, you might have to leave the room.”
“It was so bad, he’s so sweet, and she just-,”
Dis nodded, “I know, trust me I know.”
Gorgo asked, “How are your Owls? Have the couple remained in their nest?”
“Yes, actually, from what they’ve told me their home has too many females so they said if their daughter takes to Kuu then they would leave her with me and take their sons.” That parted their lips, “They would visit of course-,”
Gorgo, “They trust you with their daughter, that is huge. Especially for them to choose not to have her pair with a wild owl. That is immense.”
“I know, it was a shock enough they let me touch their eggs and listen to them.”
Dis, “Touch-?”
Gorgo, “How big are the eggs?”
“Watermelon, almost. Just under. I think it’s mostly what I’ve set up for my own birds that they liked. Wouldn’t need to suffer through harsh winters or predators for eggs.”
Dis, “Not to mention they would have you to protect them.”
“They’ll be bigger than me soon enough, he’s already nearly to my shoulder.”
Dis looked you over asking, “I heard from Dwalin you have a surprise for us?”
“I mean it’s not, like huge, but we got in stickers of the Countess Beatrice at the station. I have 17 sheets in my bag for you guys to divvy up.”
Gorgo, “Seriously?!”
You nodded and looked at her when her fingers rested on your arm, “Ya, the guys were thinking maybe doing a new character a month, just have to pick which one. I thought maybe Wolsey.”
Gorgo, “What about Bunny?”
“Far as I know for the show it was just going to be like on the add, a hand holding a phone and bunny ears around a chair.”
Dis, “Interesting take.”
Gorgo, “Well I can’t wait to see them.”
“Whenever I find my bag later I can get you both a sheet, there’s four per sheet.”
Gorgo, “I do certainly love hearing the updates on Durin’s courtship.”
Mili walked up beside Tili on your way out of the garden joining the ladies for the line to the ballroom set up for your Dame Dinner. “But of course the question is how much of their story is in this fabled book of Bunny’s.”
Weakly chuckling to yourself you said, “No spoilers.”
Gorgo said, “Shouldn’t be too long, just have to settle a day I can read through the draft to rate it then we can send it to print.”
“The guys mentioned it would be sometime after you’re back from your vacation.”
She looked you over, “Vacation?”
You nodded, “They said you’re off a week after this weekend.”
Gorgo, “I’m not going anywhere, if Ecthellion is worried about that you can tell him I would have ample time to read through the book next week. They just give us weeks off through the year to allow us rest.”
“Wouldn’t that be beyond the point of resting?”
Dis chuckled saying, “We’re a lot like you, time off is sometimes more dreaded than hectic schedules.”
The elegantly decorated ballroom sat waiting for you with the other ladies curiously looking you over in passing them to one of the far tables where you spotted Mal seated beside Balin’s wife and daughter. Around the table you were introduced to the few ladies you didn’t know being settled beside Dis across from Mal. While you guessed she might be the one in need of rescuing from the clan interrogation only, once Niro and Diaa returned you found yourself being added to the mix. First questions of your former animated show came up and then questions of why you had stopped singing had you halting a moment then answering, “I mean, I still do. Gran is working on a few songs left on her new album. Professionally it was only for her requests that I did perform. Outside that I really don’t think that’s the field I would stay in.”
Niro, “That does explain a great deal on the matter, we do prefer voice over or possibly animation for you. It is no wonder the show is such a hit with talent like yours on staff.”
“Thank you,” you said bringing your fork up to your lips.
Giggles however won out as Mal tied you into a discussion on the guys starting to plan a birthday gift for her all with their own gifts wildly off base. Inside the lounge for the bathroom with private toilets enabling use for more than one with Dis and Gorgo waiting while you giggled through her last offered gift. “A poinsettia blanket. A knitted one at that in thick wool.”
“Blankets are sweet,” you giggled out drying your hands.
“Yes but then Ki mentioned a matching hat.” Covering your mouth you squeaked through your tries to muffle your laughter making the ladies grin wider while Mili and Tili washed their own hands while you went to plop onto the lounge beside Gorgo making Dis smirk wondering if you were just at ease or getting a bit tipsy from the wine.
“Phone.” Giggling still she handed you her phone she pulled from her pocket and finding her voice memo app you had the mouths of the Dams opening at your mini argument between the Countess, Wolsey, Frenn and Adriana hinted with Bunny as well. The flawless switch between them and on point accents left them stunned with how many of the characters you voiced. Each offering more suitable gift ideas that you drug over to a text to the boys group messages then you made a popping sound with your lips. “See how that gets them turned around.”
Mal giggled saying, “At least you picked their favorites. Doubt they would have listened to Holm.”
“Oh! I didn’t even think of that! Oh I could do so many things with that!” Mal giggled again and you tapped Gorgo’s arm, “You know I was at the market the other day and this lady was railing into this teenager trying to say that Horun was actually going to race off with the Tibelt from its crew.” Dis nipped her lip wondering if you would confirm how she suspected you had been attached to this story.
Mal scoffed, “How could they think that?!”
Gorgo said, “That is just absurd.”
“Exactly, and the girl was near tears so I tried to help her and set the lady straight,”
Mal shook her head, “Oh I doubt she listened. Never do, even I’ve gotten into a few arguments.”
“I mean, what the hell would I know, I only wrote it, but don’t mind me. Let them run the show and next Holm will be waltzing with the head of the Ironfist clan on their betrothal ceremony.”
Gorgo looked at you still stunned asking softly, “You wrote it?”
In a sigh you looked to her and your head tilted nearly resting on her shoulder, “I’m so tired, it’s so tiring. All the guys keep asking, but it’s no fun making you chase your tails. Everybody keeps saying to make friends and Mal says roots, to try and face the winds and you’ve got a brain, and I would feel bad lying, and it’s such a good story. You’ve been waiting five years, I’ve had it nearly 800,” her lips parted, “8, hundred. It’s hard enough keeping the next show mum from this ball of fire over here,” you said bumping into Mal’s arm making her grin inch out starting to catch your possibly tipsy vibes. “It’s crazy.”
Looking at the closed doors hearing muffled shouts and raised voices Mal giggled saying, “I think they got your message.” Making you giggle.
“Do I smell blackberry crumble?”
Tili still grinning madly at your big reveal offered you her hand to help you up asking, “I have to ask, where did Bunny come from?”
On your feet you asked, “The name or the character?”
Mili, “Name.”
“Jaqiearae means Jack Rabbit, in Vanyar that’s what we call bunnies. Naneth used to draw me bunnies that I used to hide from the guards, including the one I got tattooed on my foot, and when I changed my name that’s what I picked,”
Gorgo asked standing up, “So with the book, what happens if your name comes out?”
“It might, but for the time being, I’ll take what I can get and hope the work speaks for itself and my old name won’t matter.”
Dis, “If I can ask, your sister, the one in the story that outed that clan,” your eyes on hers alone had her pausing and saying, “It wasn’t your sister.”
“We filed a copyright for the show, the clan demanded 75% or they’d out my name. I called their bluff. We had rules, my cousins and I, monthly scheduled check ins or our letters would be published by a friend. He’d been aching to post that story for centuries.”
Her hand settled on your arm and you shook your head, “He was a sperm donor and a leech. Nothing more. As cold as it sounds.”
Mal said, “It’s not cold,” rubbing your back, “They didn’t deserve you.”
Gorgo, “Are there still many after you?”
You shrugged, “Time will tell, for now their friends aren’t bothering with me. I doubt they passed on my name, they were more physical not financially based.”
Dis eased her arm in yours, “Time for sweets.”
“Just keep me from brownies or things might get ugly,”
Mal snorted behind her hand making Dis looking at her, “You did only eat half at the last time Fred brought in boxes of brownies for the holidays.” Looking at Tili she said, “They are addictive. And Tina’s cookies.”
“Oh,” you said making the ladies giggle at your conversation switching to your favorite sweets and sugary treats lasting until you joined the men on the balcony ballroom that hastily pocketed the phone they had again listened to the message. Behind them Thorin couldn’t help but grin seeing you with a content shimmer across your skin in the creeping moonlight. Up to the table Dwalin waved you over to motioning to the empty chairs you walked while Tili hurried to fetch a tray of desserts while Balin brought more wine.
Giggles with Mal on possible plans for her birthday plans the guys kept making wilder and wilder only bleeding into louder laughter that lingered luring out more adorable squeak and snort triggered grins at the pair of you. And through your next trip to the bath and back again where you ended up laying your arms on Thorin’s shoulders peering down at his dessert he had just finished. “What is that?”
Lowly chuckling he named the treat only for your chin to plop on top of his head in an uninterested sigh making the men around your pillow trying not to grin dopily only to have Dis say, “Thorin why don’t you take Jaqi to bed.”
“There’s so many people, I get a bed? A couch would be fine.” You said straightening up and lowering your hands allowing him to stand up.
Lowly he rumbled, “You are getting a bed.”
Dis grinned saying, “Amad put you both in the teal room.”
Thorin’s brows inched up, “Both?”
Mal said, “Aww,”
Fili said, “No fair, we’ve been bunked with Tiln and Ropn.”
Dis gave them a pointed gaze then eyed Thorin as he asked, “What about Frerin?”
Frerin chuckled out, “I sleep in my briefs or in the buff you don’t want me bunking with her. Mili and Tili are in mine.”
Mili said, “Besides Ori has your usual room and you know he needs his humidifier.”
Dwalin chuckled out, “Plus, no harm possible he’s got a snore able to scare a moose.”
Giggling out you said, “Bold of you to assume I’m not more terrifying than a moose.”
Frerin chuckled out, “Oh we have no doubt about that.” He smirked at his brother then to you again, “You’ll enjoy the teal room I bet, really comfy.”
Thorin huffed then looked down at you in your poke to his middle, “Looks like I get to see you in your socks after all.”
Inhaling sharply his hand settled on your back as his cheeks prickled making his family chuckle in Fili and Kili snuggling around Mal for the last few moments catching sight of Bombur’s oldest girls who she would be rooming with. “I’ll show you in.”
“Ooh,” one little utterance from you in the first hall off the main room leading to the courtyard you were just in and he felt his grin easing out again. Small tidbits along the way were pointed out to you on the mini tour as his hand remained on your back slowly working its way back to your side. Outside your assigned room you spotted the slip of paper eased into the gold nameplate frame ‘J Pear & Thorin’ “Is there more than one Jaqi here?”
You pointed at the slip and he eased open the door saying, “Jaqliene, Gran prefers hyphenating.”
Tumblr media
Inside the teal coated room with walls and rugs over the marble floor in deep teal around the teal, silver and white striped beds while Thorin eased the door shut you smirked. “Ooh,” on top of the stools at the foot of your beds were your bags and you went over making his brow inch up until he saw you pull out an envelope and a sheet you passed to him luring out his curious grin. “Stickers.”
“Oh, these are incredible,” he said inspecting the stickers closer then glanced your way saying, “You can have the bath first to change if you like.”
With a nod and a giggle you were back in your bag to grab a pair of shorts then turned for the bath, holding in your giggle at the overly teal bathroom. Laying the shorts on the counter you lifted a foot to remove your shoes and socks, setting those down to wiggle out of your shorts to pull the other pair on with your flannel added after. In the mirror you looked at your messy bun to help find your hair tie that you managed to ease out before weaving your hair into a simple braid you tied off then gathered your things to head back into the room to add them to your trunk finding he’d already turned down the sheets for you both. In catching your eye again he said, “They have some tricks to keeping the sheets in.”
Moving to the foot of his bed he grabbed the pair of shorts there, “What is your usual room like? I’m guessing blue.”
Lowly he chuckled in your teasing grin, “Silver and blue, like most of the family rooms, guest rooms are more adventurous.”
You nodded and moved to the bed that you hopped up onto the end of to sit down saying, “Well just too bad you bumped in with me then and you miss out on your own bed.”
“I didn’t mean it like that. Just normally they wouldn’t leave us alone.”
“But you can snore away a moose.” You teased and he turned to the bath.
“Back in a minute.”
“I’ll yell if I see a moose.” His chuckle broke off in the closing of the door and exhaling deeply he got to stripping while you eased back on the bed to slide your legs under the covers you pulled up to your waist feeling the cool air in the room gathering again. wiggling down you lifted the covers to your chin relaxing on the pillow, only feeling your eyelids drooping shut.
Stepping out shirtless Thorin peeked into the room only hearing a content sigh from you making him smirk that you’d already fallen asleep avoiding the awkward silence of waiting to sleep near someone you aren’t used to doing so with. The start of bumps rising on his skin luring him to his case adding his things before climbing onto his bed, after a final glance your way he reached over to shut off the lamp between your beds then laid back. Closing his eyes with the covers pulled up before rolling onto his belly grumbling at the chill that with his usual fireplace having room could have kept away from you.

Alone at the dance - Pt 6 Greenwood
...
Trip to Greenwood
Word had spread quickly that Thorin’s celebration would be a Masquerade Ball. Everyone eagerly searched for their perfect outfit and matching masks, hoping to honor their King with good choices to add to the splendor of Erebor. You had made it through your shift in Dale when you found yourself cornered by 3 Dwarrows. This had been happening more and more since the Dwarves learned of your boys and the fact that there was no Man to claim them had left you the target for their comments and hateful gazes.
Dwarrow 1, “I hope you're not going to the Ball.”
Dwarrow 3, “We don't need your kind there.” looking you up and down with disgust.
Dwarrow 2, “You’ll only spoil the hard work of everyone else. We don't need you and your shabby dress there dimming the shine of ours.”
Dwarrow 1, “I wouldn't even bother with an invitation.”
Dwarrow 2, “I wouldn't even allow you as a servant. Far to high a rank for someone like you.”
You, “King Thorin invited me himself, He expects me to be there.” You tell them as you shove past them.
Dwarrow 3 grabbed your arm and spun you around, gripping your arm tightly and pointing an uncalloused finger at your face, “You will not speak to the King.” jerking your arm, “And you will not dress above your station, whore.” Giving you a smug grin until she felt the arrow that Tauriel had fired at her, slashing open the back of her hand that was gripping your arm. She released her grip and looked past you to see Tauriel and Legolas and the 5 Elf Guards behind them, with bows drawn, ready to fire.
Legolas, “You will not touch her again.”
The Dwarrow gripped her hand tightly as her friend wrapped her handkerchief around her wound before tying it, shooting a glare at Legolas, “You have no right to tell me what to do Elf!”
Tauriel, “He is King Thranduil’s Son, and SHE is a member of King Thorin’s Company, She deserves your respect!”
Dwarrow 1 scoffs, “She deserves nothing. She spread herself like a common dog, those bastards of hers don't deserve the dirt covering them. They especially don't deserve the kindness of the King and his family!”
Dain and Thranduil both step out from behind the building just past Legolas and Tauriel both glaring at the group of Dwarrows, who Dain recognized at once as 3 wives of Dwarves from a Dwarf Kingdom to the south. The Dwarrows all bowing to King Dain lowly as he stepped over to them. The Elves all lowered their weapons as he passed them, he whispered something and the Dwarrows’ mouths all dropped as he ordered one of his guards to take them away.
He quickly turned and walked over to you, giving you a gentle look, “They will be dealt with and sent home. Insulting you and your sons is beyond any defense.” He placed his hand softly on your shoulder, giving you a deep and serious gaze, “This will not happen again. No Dwarf will insult you again. I will make sure of it, Thorin has power yes, but with my word behind it no one will dare insult you again. Especially after your fiery haired friend over there, certainly an interesting addition to our Family.” giving her a quick glance, speaking to her, “Your actions will not be forgotten when its my turn to give consent to your union with Kili.” Turning back to you, “This will not happen again. I am deeply sorry for it happening at all.”
You give him a quick smile, “Thank You King Dain.”
He shakes his head, “None of that Lass, just Dain from now on, you are by far my superior, title or no title.” he takes in a deep breath and lets it go, glancing in the direction that the Dwarrows were taken, “I will see you later, until then, I know you'll be safely looked after.” giving you a gentle smile before he walked away.
Thranduil was quietly getting the details of what he missed from a guard, fighting back the urge to kill them, he could clearly see them off In the distance, easily handled. Not a problem for him at all, but he could not intervene now that Dain had claimed them, but the urge still burned inside him, searing pain coursing through his hands, every inch of them screaming to take his Sons bow and arrows, the only possible chance of silencing it.
He turned to you, his face gentle and kind as he walked over to you, speaking in Elvish, “Are your sons at home?”
You gave a small smile and shook your head as a tear snuck its way down your cheek, the guards all stepping and blocking the view of the Dwarves nearby. Thranduil gently reached out and wiped your tear away, unknowingly causing another to fall, dripping over his fingers as you forced down your feelings and he wiped the second away as you said, “They're at Bilbo’s in Elles. Playing with the Gamgees and Bracegirdles children.”
His head tilted to the side as he gazed down at you placing his hand at his side again feeling the warmth of your tears on his fingers causing the pain to pulse through him again. “How would you like to come to Greenwood?” giving you a small smile hoping you would come.
You give a small smile in return, “I will have to change.” looking down over yourself, “And bathe.” forcing out a small half hearted laugh.
Thranduil nodded, “Surely you could use a break from Dale, for a few days at least. We will escort you back home to change and bathe, then we can get your Sons if you like.” You smile and nod again as they lead you away. Nori walked out from behind the building behind you along with Bifur, both giving each other a quick glance before they headed to find the King. Within the hour word had spread through the Mountain and Dale and the screams of The Company and especially Thorin could be heard through the Mountain, that alone would have ensured that you would never be treated that way again.
...
You quickly bathed, scrubbing yourself clean and drying off, noticing your glowing skin in the mirror. It was so exhausting for you to keep your glow dimmed around the Dwarves and the Men of Laketown. You drew so much attention when you glowed you tended to entrance the Men and Dwarves around you. The Hobbits all were mostly unaffected but your glow came from joy and peaceful feelings, so it spread quickly from Hobbit to Hobbit, the Elves finding you like living starlight, to be cherished and protected, by the glow of your eyes alone knowing your power and age, the closest the younger Elves who had never seen Valinor had come to seeing Varda in their lifetimes.
Even Thranduil had not seen your full shine, but you hoped you could show him during your break, hoping he wouldn't be scared of you or perhaps even locking you away to keep it to himself, the latter making you chuckle causing another glow to run across your skin, imagining being sent down to his dungeons again. You dried yourself off and got dressed quickly, packing the boys things as well, rejoining the King who was causing his fingers to glow making a small hidden rose bud in your garden to bloom, opening it for a small bumblebee to land on happily, smiling as he heard it hum happily in thanks. He turned and saw you cleaned and closing your door behind you, giving him a small smile. He looked you over happy to see that your mood had improved greatly, “Are you ready?”
You gave a small nod, “Yes.” Looking behind the King to see his Elk sniffing one of your honeysuckle patches before lifting its head and bowing it slightly to you as a Hello. You walked over and stroked his head as he lowered it to you, Thranduil smiled and asked, “Would you like to ride him?”
You glanced up at him curiously, “I can't take your steed from you. He's far too gorgeous, he’s meant to bear a King.”
He chuckled as the Elk turned and he gently lifted you up onto his saddle, leading the Elk to Elles, “Let’s go get your Sons.” Giving you a quick smile as his group behind him followed after you, all relaxing as they saw their King happy once again by your side. Your ride was enjoyable as you stroked the base of the Elks neck as Thranduil stroked just below his head. You let out a giggle as you noticed Thranduil was at your elbow now.
He glanced up at you, making your smile grow, showing your glow a bit more, making his heart beat faster as he looked at you, “Hmm?”
“I’m taller than you. Now I think I know how you see the Dwarves.” giggling again as the King and the Elves chuckled around you. Your eyes locking onto the face of the smiling Elf King, wondering why you were the one who could draw it out of him, seeing how deeply he relaxed around you.
The Boys were happy to be lifted on the Elk in front of you and enjoyed the ride through the forest. Your light and the spreading green from Elles had woken his forest bringing the animals back again, flowers running around the pathway ahead of you making your heart fill with joy. By the time you had reached the gates the moon was rising and your glow had started to draw the attention of the Elves, quickly glancing at you in awe, noticing the mithril swirls running over your skin as you passed through the beams of moonlight slipping through the leaves above you sparkling brightly then disappearing as the leaves blocked the moonlight again.
Thranduil happily showed you and the boys through the main parts of the Kingdom before having dinner, the boys ran through one of the inner gardens for a bit until they started yawning. Frodo headed slowly to Thranduil and raised his arms, Thranduil’s heart melted as he leant down and picked him up. He curled up under Thranduil’s chin starting to fall asleep as Estel wrapped his arms around your legs, you bent down and lifted him and followed Thranduil to their room and gently placed them into the Hobbit beds Thranduil had sent for. Thranduil gently took the hand that Frodo was still gripping his with and kissed it gently before pushing back a curl away from his eyes, stepping over to Estel and doing the same, telling them your room was right next door, as you tucked them in and pulling out their sleeping crystal, blowing on it to make it glow and kissing their heads before you left.
He gently placed a hand on your back as you walked to the door and gently closed it behind you. Tharanduil led you out to a private garden and smiled as he saw your glowing skin under the moonlight, knowing it could glow even brighter, wishing to see it glow fully. You ran your fingers over a flower that turned towards you, “I’m sorry.”
Thranduil stepped closer to you, his smile dropping a bit as his eyes searched your face hoping for a hint about your words there, “You don't owe me an apology. For anything.”
You looked up at him trying to fight back the tears trying to bubble up, “For not mentioning my boys. I’m sorry.”
Thranduil smiled again as he took another step towards you, “I know how badly it must have hurt to leave them behind.” He brushed back a stray curl of your hair behind your ear before lowering his hand again, deepening his gaze, “You owe me no apology. I nearly started a war today, I could have easily taken them down. It would have been worth it, after what they said.” he gently placed a hand on your upper arm where she had grabbed you, gently rubbing the spot silently searching for a hidden wound. “About you and your boys. Honestly, Dain would have supported me, I believe.” making you chuckle.
“Had they been there...”
“They would have never heard a word. I’d have made sure of it.”
You stepped forward, making his hand slip off of your arm as you wrapped your arms around him hugging him tightly. His eyes closed as he wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly as you leaned your head up and kissed his cheek, sending sparks through his body, you listened to his skipping heartbeat and whispered, “Thank You, for everything.” squeezing him a bit tighter as he let out a small chuckle and gently kissed the top of your forehead before resting his head against the top of yours, wishing to stay like that forever.
But after a few minutes you reluctantly slid your arms back, as he held you for a moment longer before slowly releasing you. To skip the awkward moment after your hug, you turned and continued your stroll through the garden as you felt his fingertip brush your hand. Gently reaching out and sliding your hand into his, making his smile grow, feeling his pulse through his hand, he turns and sees your full glow, not shining out for the world, but holding your hand he can see it, loving every moment, his living starlight, the keeper of his heart as you smiled up at him and he gently raised your hand to kiss it before lowering it again, sliding his fingers between yours, feeling your heartbeat matching his, sliding his thumb over the back of your hand.
Leading him to a small hidden bench, sitting down on it as he joined you smiling at you, pushing your hair back over your shoulder, as you gently lifted a piece of his hair and held it under the moonlight, watching it glow as he whispered, “Are you going to the Ball?”
You looked back up to his eyes, dropping his hair, “I’m not sure.” giving him a small smile.
“I would very much like to escort you if you do decide to go, if you don't mind.” holding your hand safely in his and stroking the back of it with his other hand as he waited for your answer still smiling at you lovingly.
You chuckled, quietly taking in a deep breath before releasing it, “I suppose I’ll have to dig out one of my dresses then.” watching as his smile grew. “You’ll go with me?” You nodded, “You'll have to let me know which color to wear, you've been to Dwarf celebrations before.”
He chuckled and glanced at the flowers around you that had all started to bloom fuller near you trying to remember their common colors, “They mostly wear dark blues, green and reds, but mostly when we attend they prefer it when My people wear lighter colors. Mostly pale blues, green, silvers sometime yellow as well.”
“So which side am I to choose then?” giving him a small smirk making him chuckle again.
“Whichever color you like.”
“I have 2 light dresses, one plain grey one, too plain for a ball though. It’ll have to be my pink one then. It sparkles. I’d just need to make a mask to match it.”
He smiled again as he imagined what style of dress you would wear, picturing you in every shade of pink he could think of, trying to place which best suited you as he whispered, “Pink.” glancing back up, locking eyes with you again, “Bright Pink?” You shook your head, “No it’s more of a pale pink. I can show you if you like.”
“No, I think I’d rather be surprised when I see you, on the night of the Ball.” making you chuckle quietly, “Which color will you be wearing?” giving him another smirk, “Let me guess, Silver?” making him laugh again, “Most likely. But I do have a pale bluish violet Robe that would go well with your pink.” His gaze fell again as he mentally ran through his wardrobe as he stroked your hand absentmindedly, whispering, “With the silver boots, and matching wrap.” Matching your eyes again, “What jewelry are you wearing?”
“My purple ring I always wear and maybe my acorn necklace, My purple sapphire earrings, and I have jeweled beads and clips for my hair.”
He nodded his head trying to picture how your hair would be arranged, “I’m sure you will draw every mans attention as you enter.” causing you to roll your eyes, he turned your chin so you faced him again, “You are gorgeous, everyone can see that. Every man will be watching you all night as I spin you across the floor.”
“How anyone could notice me when you're wearing purple, and glowing so brightly, Taule.” Smiling again as he let out a quiet chuckle, “Taule?”
“Great Tree.”
He chuckled, “I know what it means.” chuckling again, “Why Taule?”
“Your height for one, along with your crown, besides Greenleaf Son of the Great Tree, King of Greenwood has a nice ring to it.” your answer making him laugh loudly before breaking into quiet chuckles, “I suppose it does. I like it. Of course you could call me anything you like.” bowing his head to you slightly before chuckling again, before continuing “Is there anything you wish for me to call you in return?”
“Anything you like.”
He smiled and nodded his head slightly as the word, “Tarinya” (My Queen) screamed through his heart,  he drew in a breath and released it as he said, “Lapattári perhaps, seems fitting since the Company has referred to you and Bilbo as rabbits before.” (Rabbit Queen, Queen of Rabbits) You smiled as you said, “I like it. But the Queen part is a bit much though.” He smirked again, wishing you knew how deeply he wanted to claim you as his own right now, screaming it to the world that he loved you and your boys with every beat of his heart.
“Dain was right, you are certainly above any title that anyone could ever give you.” making you chuckle again, “I’ve never met someone with a heart like yours. Queen is nowhere near your status or power, you certainly deserve it though.”
“You both have such a large impression about me.” feeling his hand grip your hand tighter, “But I’ll give in, since you outnumber me.”
He whispered, “Good.” as he raised your hand and kissed your knuckles, “Would you like tea?” You gave a quick nod, as you started to stand with the King, still gripping your hand as he led you to his tea room near the boys room on the Royal floor. Enjoying your tea, sharing loving glances as you spoke, The King smiling as your eyes started drooping and you rubbed them, letting out a small groan. He chuckled and stood offering you his hand again, “Let’s get you to bed, you need rest.”
Leading you to the room between his and your boys’, showing you inside pointing out the restroom and the closet he had fully stocked with extra sheets and clothes your size if you needed them and pointing out the new Hobbit mattress he got for you. You removed your boots and socks, set them by the foot of the bed. Before turning to leave he heard you asking, “I know it’s...” he met your gaze raising his eyebrows, “Hmm?”
You gave a small smile, shaking your head, “Never mind.” He merely stepped closer to you and tilted his head closer to yours, grabbing your hands gently, “You can ask me anything.”
He watched as your courage grew in your eyes as you asked barely above a whisper, “Would you stay...please?” He nodded, “If you like.” Still keeping his face closer to yours for a moment, enjoying the closeness of yours you leaned up and kissed him on the cheek, hearing him let out a quiet gasp. Seeing his eyes run from your eyes to your lips as you pulled your face back a few inches, he closed his eyes and rested his forehead against yours as his hands ran his hands up your arms as you closed the distance kissing him gently. He quickly leaned into the kiss deepening it as you slid your hands around the back of his neck under his hair, wrapping your arms behind his neck as you stood on your toes so he could straighten up a bit as he wrapped his arms around your back holding you closely against him. Only breaking from your passionate kiss as you heard a small whine from the boy’s room. Turning to face the door adjoining your rooms as he loosened his grip around your back as you lowered your arm and headed for the door with him closely behind you.
You moved quickly to Estel’s side as he tossed under his sheets, whispering quietly in Hobbitish, “I’m here little one.” as you brushed away his hair and he sprawled out slipping back into a happy dream once again as you kissed his forehead, glancing at Frodo seeing Thranduil gently rubbing his hand over his back watching him settle back again as well, glancing up at you giving you a small smile as you headed for the door as he followed again shutting the door quietly behind you. Gently grabbing his hand again making his smile grow again, watching you lead him to the bed as you sat on the foot of the bed.
He released your hand and sat down next to you and started removing his boots, setting them next to the bed as he reached up to the top button of his long silver shirt, “I have another shirt under this one. If you don't mind...”
“It’s fine, I don’t.” Watching as he stood again, unhooking the decorative pin at the base of his neck then unbuttoning the dozen or so buttons running down his chest as you giggled, making his smile grow as he looked at you, “You are far more patient then I am to have that many buttons on your shirts.” quietly chuckling as he unhooked the four buttons down his wrists before sliding out of it. You quietly unbuttoned your small vest, folding it and setting it at the foot of the bed. Watching him walking over to the chair near the window and laying it across it, pulling off his crown and laying it on the chair cushion. Giving you a good chance to see his glowing skin in the moonlight pouring through the window, seeing the outline of his muscles through his thin long sleeve white shirt with ties under the neck as he rolled up those sleeves and smiled at you again, seeing you glowing gently in the moonlight as you smiled, heading back to the bed. Kneeling on the edge as he walked over, kissing him again as he ran his hands around your waist, then resting his forehead against yours again as he whispered, “I’ll stay on top of the sheets.” before you could say anything he continued, “Let’s sleep, alright?” You gave him another quick kiss, feeling him restrain himself from pulling you back against him and kissing you again.
You pulled back, standing on top of the bed and walking to the head of the bed, dropping down near the pillows in the center of the mattress as he crawled over the bed after you. Dropping down next to you on his side as you pushed your feet under the cover settling yourself under them as he covered you, snaking his arms around you as you turned away from him, feeling him press himself against your back holding you tighter as he whispered, “I love you.” into your ear as he tangled his fingers with yours. You kissed his knuckles and whispered, “I love you.” feeling his heart skip as he kissed your neck and settled his head behind yours, both of you settling in to sleep.
As the sun crept in through the window you felt Frodo squirming into your arms and Estel squeezing between you and Thranduil, both giggling and loosening your grips so they could curl up with you, all slipping back into sleep for a few hours until a small knock sounded on the door. Frodo and Estel both popped their heads up, you quickly slipped out of bed walked to the door and opened it to see Legolas, gave you a quick smile, “Have you seen my Father?”
You stepped back and he quickly spotted his father being tackled and tickled by the boys and laughing as he wrapped his arms around them and spotted his son, giving him a large smile as he said, “Little Leaf, you found us.” You gently grabbed Legolas’ arms and pulled him inside the room and led him to the bed, giving him another gentle push to climb on and join you all, piling on top of the King, joining his new brothers, gently holding down the King as they tickled him. You sat on the edge of the bed watching and laughing until you heard another knock, the fun continuing as you opened the door again to find Tauriel giving you a nervous glance. “Have you seen the King and Prince?” Your smile grew as she heard the laughing from the other side of the partially open door. Tauriels’ body relaxing as she had found them, continuing, “Breakfast is ready, whenever you want it.” Giving you a small bow as she turned to leave.
You giggled and headed back for the bed again, Thranduil smiled and asked, “Who was that?” In between laughs as his son had turned and released him, glancing at you curiously.
“Tauriel, breakfast is ready.”
“Ahh.” He lifted Frodo and Estel into the air above him as they giggled, before lowering them and kissing their foreheads and wrapping his arms around them, “Are you hungry?” They both giggled and answered, “Yes.” as you leaned in and kissed their noses as they giggled again as he lifted them up, giving Legolas a quick peck on the forehead as well, as he climbed to the end of the bed and carried them to the Dining room. You quickly gave Legolas a small side hug as you pulled him off the bed, out of his stunned state, his Father had not kissed his forehead in nearly centuries, joining your side as you followed the King as he laughed and joked with the boys along the way, catching the attention of every Elf along the way.
Legolas leaned in, “What has happened to him?”
“He asked me to Thorin’s upcoming Ball.” He raised an eyebrow at you, “I said yes.” He gave you a smirk as he whispered, “And?”
“He told me he loved me.” making his smile grow even larger, “And I said the same.” He leaned in closer again whispering even quieter this time, “And?”
You giggled quietly, “I kissed him.” Making him chuckle as his smile spread even wider and he wrapped an arm around your shoulder resting his head against the top of yours whispering, “Welcome to the Family.” rubbing your arm quickly before pulling back before you reached the dining room to see Thranduil settling the boys into their chairs and pushing them closer to the table as they stood on them and poured food onto their plates and quickly helped themselves, earning a few chuckles from passing Elves who wandered through the Kingdom at great distance from their destinations to catch a glimpse of the first set of children in Greenwood for centuries.
For the rest of your trip you spent it laughing and playing with the boys and Legolas, getting to see his childhood Father once again, feeling himself slip back into his playful youthful self as he chased and crawled around with his new brothers, giving you and the King some time alone a few times a day. Settling the boys into bed each night and sharing yours with the King, being woken by your three boys each morning after and heading to breakfast again, the King refusing to work at all. Once the Council found out why, they postponed the meetings and left their King to his happy new growing family, all cherishing the new found joy of their King along with their regrowing Kingdom and everyone admiring your full glow.
...
The day you left Thranduil could barely fight the urge to lock you away as he placed you on his Elk again and led you back to your home. Never letting go of your hand as he walked next to you as he joked with the boys and made faces at them along with Legolas on your other side. Once you reached your house you spotted the group of Hobbit children and large rabbits who had been tending your garden while you were away turn and wave at you. Frodo and Estel waved in return, giving Thranduil and Legolas hugs as you stopped, both of their faces dropping a little as they asked, “You’re leaving again?”
The King and Prince both not wishing to overstep by inviting themselves, you bumped Thranduil’s shoulder, “You can both stay if you like. As long as you want.” Making their smiles and the smiles on the boys faces grow and they happily bounced after giving you a quick kiss on your cheeks, “We’re gonna go play. Love You.” as they climbed down with the help of The King and Prince and they happily joined their friends as Thranduil wrapped his arms around you and helped you down giving you a kiss on the cheek as he did.
Letting his Elk wander through your city freely as they followed you inside. You set your bag on the hook by the door, glanced down to find 13 pairs of boots and coats piled onto the hooks and along the wall, and you heard Thorin clear his throat as he walked from your sitting room, into the front hallway and walking closer to you as the Dwarves all poured out behind him, all giving you nervous glances and smiles.
Thorin, “I...” You giggled and wrapped him in a hug, which he quickly returned and told him, “Thorin there is nothing you have done to have that look on your face.” pulling back to see a small smile cross his face as he nodded, you peaked over his shoulder and pointed a finger at the group, “Same for you.”
You shared the tea that Bilbo had prepared as they asked you how your visit went, each sharing stories about your time away and their plans for the upcoming Ball. Each running their eyes between the King who had his arm firmly wrapped around your back and fighting their smiles as the conversation continued on. Eventually breaking up as Thorin got called back to Erebor taking the group with him to give you time alone with your King.
Tauriel and another group of Elves arriving with the things the King had packed before you had left, hoping he could stay with you. Thranduil and Legolas both setting their things down in their room as you cleared the dishes before putting up the boys things. Legolas nudged his Father, “Why don't you put your things in her room? I’m sure she won't argue.”
Thranduil fought back the urge to as he glanced up at his Son, “I’m not going to assume anything, If she wants me there, I will, but not unless she asks.”
Both dropping their bags and helping you put things away as Legolas heads out to go join the boys and their friends. You caught a glimpse of Thranduil’s bag as you. passed the door, he caught your gaze and gently grabbed your arm turning you to him, lifting your chin, “I didn’t want to assume that I could just drop my things on your bed.”
You stepped closer and pulled him down closer to you and kissed him, feeling him. wrap his arms around you, lifting you and carrying you to a chair setting you in his lap running your fingers through his hair as a knock sounded on your door earning a groan from both of you as you went to answer it. Finding a Dwarf with a note from Dain for The King, who had walked to the door behind you, taking the note and reading it before saying he had to go, giving you a loving gaze out of sight of the waiting Dwarf, longing to kiss you goodbye but bowing his head to you as he left.
...
You roamed through your garden inspecting it and admiring the glowing boom of the flowers as you spotted Legolas and Tauriel both joining you with smiles on their faces.
Tauriel, “So Jaqi, Have you decided on your dress for the Ball?”
You, “Yes. I’ve planned out my wardrobe and started putting my mask together yesterday.”
Legolas, “I suppose you shall turn some heads with your choice.”
Tauriel, “Of course she is. Even just to spite those Dwarves who had been making comments about you. And on the Kings arm you’ll certainly be in the finest dress available no doubt.”
You giggled, “Oh you have no idea. I’m going to bring the thunder.”
Both of them raising their eyebrows, as they looked at you.
Legolas, “Thunder?”
You, “Everything is normal then all of a sudden, BOOM, There you are. The Thunder.”
Tauriel, “Oh I like that! The Dwarves will be happy to know that.”
...
Thranduil happily returned and changed into more comfortable clothes as he joined you and the three boys having luncheon, accepting the plate you offered him, kissing you on the cheek as he sat next to you. Smiling through the meal at you lovingly, before taking the boys outside and chasing them through the gardens as Legolas helped you clean, telling you about his new friend Gimli, Son of Gloin, sharing stories of his duel he had challenged the Prince to, both breaking into a tie before stopping. The smile never leaving his face as he told you more details about him, surprised that Gloin even with his seemingly endless his comments on his Son, had missed some details and stories.
Carefully tucking the boys into bed at night as Legolas went to bed as you and Thranduil shared a few kisses before once again he had curled himself over the covers on your bed around you.
