i have a small headcanon since im shorty no kidding im 5'3 how the slasher will react to an s/o who the same height ?
Ooo first request let’s go!!!
I’m just gonna do my main boys if you don’t mind :>
Bo Sinclair
He teases you A L O T, thinks it’s cute
He may pick you up?
Like hoist you over his shoulder and walk around, he likes the height difference!
Kisses your forehead, yes.
“Darlin, your the size of a damn muskrat, and Yer talkin’ to me like that?”
Still will get mad at anyone else for commenting on your height, only he’s allowed to do that.
Vincent Sinclair
Not the one to pick you up, only if you want him to of course.
Unlike his twin, he doesn’t tease you that much!
He will bend down to kiss you on the lips, he just feels it’s more intimate…
Thinks it’s cute when you pull him down for a kiss or hug.
“My love, your as beautiful as they come.”
Also will get irritated if anyone comments on your height, maybe not as much at Bo, but he’ll still get mad.
Lester Sinclair
Your pocket sized!!!
Thinks your adorable -
There’s a chance he might try to pick you up- it’s mostly for hugs though, you ain’t that much shorter then him!
Definitely will tease you every now and then, but there’s no malice behind it! If you ask him to stop he will :)
“Sugar! Get down from there! You’re gonna get hurt!” You, climbing on the counters to get chips
Again, only he’s aloud to tease you about your height, will throw something at Bo if he says something.
Thomas Hewitt
Thinks your fake a first, you are… Itty bitty…
Very gentle with you, afraid he’s gonna break you! Of course, your not as fragile as he thinks you are ^^’
Definitely will pick you up for a hug
Doesn’t have a teasing bone in his body, will treat you like royalty!
*huffs at you climbing the counters to reach something* he doesn’t want you to fall and get hurt!
Pummels Hoyt if he says anything, doesn’t have to worry about his momma, she likes you! Glares at Monty if he shares his opinions on your height.
Bubba Sawyer
Lord have merthy, this man might suffocate you! With affection of course!
Forgets his own strength, and also forgets how small you are… what I’m saying is, cuddles need a safe word.
Forehead kisses!!!
Wont tease you, but sometimes it feels like he is :’)
He squeals everytime you try and get something up high! He can reach it for you, what are you doing???
Doesn’t really pick up on his brothers teasing you, but if it bothers you, he will do something about it! Can’t have his s/o feeling bad, can we?
Jason Voorhees
Oh my god. Smol.
He will pack you around, don’t even have to ask, your in his sight at all times, very protective.
Loves when you have to jump up to him to kiss him, he will commit even worse crimes then he already has to keep you safe.
Has moved everything in the cabin down a level so you don’t hurt yourself climbing… what a sweetheart!
Mumbles how lucky he is to have you when you cuddle, he doesn’t talk much, so he means what he says.
There isn’t really anyone around to tease you, however if he sees someone bothering you, he won’t hesitate bitch.
Michael Meyers
Another one who thinks your fake, you are… small.
Definitely picks you up once your close enough, surprised at how light you are.
Stole a ladder stool for you… look at him being nice!
Teases you in silence… will watch you from afar trying to reach something without helping… sometimes he just walks away… what a jerk.
Stalks you, so anyone who gives you trouble is on the news the next morning :)
Alright! There we go!! Ik these are shorter! But I enjoyed writing them!!! If there’s any other slashers you’d like to see lmk!!!

I feel like the main reason why so many public figures with huge online followings are choosing to fence sit when it comes to what’s currently happening in Palestine is because of this dumb notion that “If you mention anything that’s currently happening in the world = Politics.”
Yes, nobody likes talking about politics after the last seven years of insanity, but a literal genocide is happening right in front of our eyes!
Like I said before, I truly don’t understand how anybody can look at all the footage of dead Palestinians and not feel the urge to speak out against these atrocities.
And again, if this whole thing was about Hamas, then why the hell are all these social media apps cracking down on Pro Palestine content? Why are universities trying to ban Pro Palestine discussions? And why are all these celebrities getting fired or blacklisted for speaking out against what is currently happening in Palestine?
Let’s be real, if Tumblr didn’t constantly throttle the main Palestine tags, then they would be the only thing that trends on this rotting carcass of a website.
Also, funny how any and all mentions of Palestine seems to be wiped clean from the Twitter algorithm.
My timeline used to be filled with people posting about what was happening, and now of all sudden, everything just kind of stopped.
The Muskrat can reply to literal Nazis, but fuck forbid anybody speak out against a literal genocide, am I right?

when you’re off of work would you please elaborate on your hannibal service top agenda,,, please my family is starving
i don’t want anyone to starve so obviously I will extrapolate on the service top aspect of Hannibal Lecter o7!! I am going to get so carried away and I apologize in advance.
Alright going to start this off by saying I do think they’re vers but only in regards to each other, I think for canon relationships, Will has a tendency to allow himself to be directed while Hannibal loves to orchestrate. With each other, though, it grows increasingly and alluringly complicated. Arguments could be made and subsequently thrown out depending on what part of the show you’re watching and post fall is an entire free-for-all because you can’t tell me two grown men survive murder-suicide via cliff and then settle into the puritanical rigidity of who tops and who bottoms.
Okay that being said, honestly i could make the case that both of them lean more toward making sure whoever they’re with is getting the most out of the encounter (maybe for different reasons; the popular trope of Will’s empathy causing a sort of blissful feedback loop and in Hannibal’s case, it stands to reason the politeness overlaps with a challenging sort of hedonism, he’s in control and playful about it) but I think that specifically for Hannibal, Will’s reactions are what he’s constantly seeking and then hoarding. Like. Will responding to stimuli that Hannibal presents is basically the premise of the show and Hannibal very clearly gets off on that, maybe not anywhere explicitly but we see shots of his pupils dilating, his gaze always caught on Will, licking his lips, all in response to Will reacting to him. It’s very rare he’s outright hungry at the beginning of a conversation or interaction, he seems to maintain a sense of aloofness until Will snarks or baits or replies or even defers and then, it’s as though he’s desperate to see more. I'm not getting into the whole them eating meals together because I'll devolve very quickly but like. just keep in mind the way Hannibal watches Will eat, as though he savors Will instead of the meal he cooked. Right. Okay. He gets caught up in Will’s responses very quickly, enraptured and almost stupid about it and trying to immediately trigger more which!! Goes hand and hand with him doing very uh lets say unique acts of service (the malewife jokes are only half jokes); the breakfasts & dinners, the driving, the caretaking. Yes all that’s manipulative but to Hannibal, that doesn’t negate that it’s still getting him the responses he wants and that’s also maybe why he’s so quick to say they’re friends because he’s viewing it as a form of relationship building and quite frankly, that is the only way that man knows how to build relationships; he sets himself up as a crutch and then breaks your leg and unfortunately at that point, for Will, for Jack, for Abigail, for Bedelia, for Chiyoh, you are too grateful to be standing that you forget he’s the reason you can’t do it on your own. The others I mentioned learn either very quickly or very (in painful irony) rudely that he is only a crutch as long as he enjoys it, as long as he can benefit from holding you aloft.
However. In Will’s case, he tries to remove himself and finds that it’s him who can’t stand and he’s immediately resentful and desperate to take back that ability, leaving another gift, another act of service, for Will to prove that he can still provide it and detrimentally putting himself on the map for Jack and Mason in the process. He’s so eager to have Will’s response, he waits at his own fucking crime scene. Will gives him what he wants and he’s too overwhelmed to respond with any sort of power or immediate selfishness, he runs again. And then. Muskrat Farms and his surrender. I feel like I don’t even need to explain why that backs up my case here, that man is so so ready to rescue and then surrender all because Will’s involved; two things he’s never done in his entire life, they essentially reduce him to this almost pathetic thing and it doesn’t give him pause at all because again, they’re acts of service whether Will wants them at that point or not. Like Bedelia said it best, he’s obsessed, he wants every reaction, every word, every sigh and curse, he’s very single-minded about getting them and he doesn’t care who he has to hurt, himself or others, to get them. Now, combine all that and the cliff scene and tell me that man doesn’t spend every second they’re in a bed together completely and utterly focused on Will and Will alone.

The cursed bird app meltdown continues apace. For those not in the know, if I'm understanding this hour's drama correctly, the muskrat has apparently told his personal lawyer, who somehow is heading the entire company's legal department now(????) that he's "not afraid of the FTC". Further context, all of the people legally responsible for them complying with the FTC agreement resigned overnight. They're apparently in some sort of violation of it right now? I think?
I'm going to ugly laugh if he gets fined not just millions but in the billions at this rate (and maybe even dragged in front of Congress, which apparently is now being murmured in some congressional twitter circles.)
There's a slack channel/conversation by the non-Musk owned legal team (ie: the actual employees on the legal team before this meltdown started) posting reminders to all employees that if they're asked to do anything illegal to call Twitter's internal ethics hotline. Oh, and also the FTC whistleblower hotline. And reminded them about whistleblower protection laws. Totally normal business things.
Yesterday they rolled out a new kind of checkmark so you could tell the difference between actually verified users and people who paid $8 for their checkmark. It was gray. Within like the span of two hours they retracted it. By the evening the $8 bought and paid for "blue check marks" were live. And you've likely seen screenshots of the absolute chaos that is reigning because of that. Including someone impersonating Twitter itself so they can scam the cryptobros out of more of their foolishly parted money. Which yeah, that's pretty on brand at this point. (Although the verified pope argument thread was pretty hilarious while it lasted.)
Meanwhile, I'm miserably considering adding another sideblog to post pictures of Griffin and tea, and maybe my minute-by-minute reactions to the Twitterplosion, because posting normally over there just feels ickier and ickier by the minute. @pirateyeti suggested I call it "Tea Time with Greyias and Griffin", which does have a ring to it.
(Yes, I could post my inane minute-by-minute thoughts here. But then like. I'd have to tag it so you could scroll by the nonsense. And I can't remember to tag things half the time.)

The thing is, moderating live content is notoriously difficult. I know this because it has been my bread and butter on another platform for the past 3 years (content moderation has been my overall job for past 6 years). Even old, well established platforms like youtube and facebook with gigantic staff and large amount of contractors are struggling with this, especially high risk events. Tumblr is notoriously poor at moderating content as is, has notoriously small staff as is, if they are getting contractors for this – it will 100% be the cheapest kind in global south or eastern europe, paying local minimum wage for unreasonable amounts of work. And malicious users know this. Tumblr is doing a lot to seem cool and hip now that those other platforms are either going down or becoming more draconian in their moderation, so yes, the scum will come here.
Hate speech is not the only problem, there is also a very high risk of CSAM being traded through any poorly moderated social media. Tumblr has had problems with this in the past as is. When similar feature was rolled out on Twitter way before elongated muskrat, it was one of the first issues they ran into – and that was before their staff was slashed. Tumblr is notoriously stubborn about revealing how big their human moderation teams are. Considering capitalism and greed, I think there's like... Five people.
Obviously hate speech, including nazi and terf shit will remain a problem, and considering tumblr staff members are openly terfs in charge of writing the policy, they would have formulated it and any additional materials for moderators to protect their own. That is why the amount of terf shit on tumblr is depressing but not surprising, they won't go against their own. It will get worse with the live available as a loophole.
Obviously I'm not hoping for the CSAM being traded on the platform, but based on my professional experience and expert bitterness, there is a scandal based on the poor moderation of lives coming in a matter of weeks.

re: your internet archive post
first, thank you so much for sharing that drive! i have been looking for some of those books for weeks lol
but also, leila khaled's autobiography at least seems to be back up. it and the entire arabic language collection it's a part of are still marked as deemphasized for whatever reason, but at least that's something. maybe this is the result of some mass false flagging push or something of the sort screwing with whatever automatic systems they have?
the majority of actual palesteninan content seems to be untouched, and a quick click through of multiple pro-palestine books showed that none of them to be deemphasized. if they were deliberately trying to censor, it seems they'd start there and also maybe be a bit more subtle about it? i don't know! the whole thing is very strange, but it might not be *as* bad as it seems on first glance. hopefully.
Yes, I saw reply tweets saying the book was back up but only available through login or something? Either way, considering the open and rampant censorship in every corner of Anglo media right now, the possibility that occurred to me, like you said, is that Zionists might be mass flagging Palestinian literature.
It does reveal the danger in digital monopolies though, even ones that are reputable, open access and non-profit. Monopolies have been so normalized in the last 10-15 years that netizens have become conditioned to simply find a single good-enough choice and then abandon any motivation to create an alternative better tailored to us as individuals. It's rather glaring how irreplaceable we've made these platforms. Even with all the Muskrat's best efforts to delegitmize and destroy twitter, every international crisis has us coming back to it in droves because those networks have become simply vital and irreplaceable to giant swathes of the globe. These kind of dependencies really should scare us into creating alternative platforms and archives as well. Not necessarily to compete, but because resources are power, and diversity of resources is the devolution of power, and that's essential to protecting people's rights and freedoms. Concentration of resources is antithetical to communal power.
You're very welcome for the drive! I'm a pathological data hoarder and it's extremely satisfying when I have a reason to do it other than scratching a brain itch. I can't build websites but I can be part of an "I-know-a-guy-who-knows-a-guy" network. 😂

Can someone please just say the Ask Tales blog is permanently closed? It honestly hurts to look back at it with even the slightest optimistic glimmer of hope.
Hi Anon,
I'll go ahead and field this, IDK if any of my fellow former ToA mods got this message as well or not but hey, I was kind of unofficially looked to as the Owner so it's on me either way.
The short answer is yes, it is safe for you and anyone else still wondering to consider Tales of Answers over. All of us mods, while we still keep in touch, have largely moved on to other projects and gotten much busier in our personal lives, to the point where even with all hands on deck maintaining the blog at the rate we did at its peak is unfeasible.
It's also a matter of loss of interest. I still love a lot of these characters and I had a blast getting into their heads while it lasted but my interest in the Tales series as a whole has waned significantly since those days, and I think I speak for the whole ToA moderation team when I say that. Part of it is we agree that there is/was an overall severe decline in the series' writing quality for a while, but it's also just that naturally people move in and out of interests as their lives go on. Our hearts aren't in it anymore to the extent that we could produce content for this fandom with any kind of consistency and quality, and it wouldn't be fair to us or anyone who remembers our work fondly if we tried to go back to it without the passion we had when the thing started. Or, worse, start using ChatGPT or some bullshit. Honestly, that had already faded pretty significantly by the time we put a pause on the project, which was most of why we did it in the first place.
On that note, there was also a lot of Fandom Drama and toxicity to deal with back then. I've been somewhat disconnected from the wider Tales Fandom for the past several years so I don't know if it's cooled off, but at the time it was pretty exhausting to be entrenched in. For what it's worth, I don't think we were completely devoid of fault in any fandom drama that ensued, and I apologize if we ever did anything particularly incensing to anyone reading this.
In any case, I will say that yes, Tales of Answers is considered closed by its former moderation team. We consider passing it on to new mods out of the question, as it was a personal project by a group of friends and we don't really want to pass it to someone we don't know and can't guarantee would operate it in line with our own views and wishes. However, the good news is that there's absolutely nothing stopping someone else from starting a new Tales mailbox blog and taking up our mantle themself! In fact, if anyone is interested in doing so, please feel free to make use of all our character animations, which you can find on the blog itself. Most of those weren't even made by us, it was kind of a free for all to begin with.
Will we ever return in ANY capacity? Hard to say and I wouldn't count on it. For my part, I've considered occasionally popping in to make little unprompted skits whenever the inspiration strikes, but as y'all can see, said inspiration hasn't struck significantly enough in the past eight years to actually do it. Maybe I will some day, if any of the other mods still attached to the blog want to they're invited to as well. We're probably not gonna open the mailbox back up, though. Sorry.
ANYWAY now that I've disappointed everyone, if for some reason you still want to keep an eye on whatever I'm doing, I'm pretty inactive here these days. You can find me on Twitter (for however long it takes for Muskrat to kill it) at @aceofplaces, or on CoHost at @vegapunk-aurora. I have a lot of little projects I don't talk much about in public brewing in the background, hopefully some day I'll have one congeal enough to actually be worth sharing.
Now go, be free. Thanks for holding a candle for us for so long and sorry for making you do it for nothing, it is sincerely pretty validating to know this weird little shitpost factory my friends and I made when I was in high school ended up meaning something to somebody even now. Take care of yourself.

Ok moomins fandom- please I need some answers because this image has haunted me to my core with questions that I am never able to answer. On the back of the book “the book about moomin mymble and little my” theres this “couple” and what is very obviously there child.... except the couple is that of a horse who walks on all fours and a humanoid rat man.
Tumblr media
- Just like... I have so many questions? How did they(the parents) meet? Why did they decide to get married or at the very least get together and have a child? ITS A LITTERAL HORSE... DID HE OWN HER PREVIOUSLY??? did they have a child? Is this legal in this universe? If so horses can talk right? So... wait doesnt mrs phillyjonk have a cow?? WHAT IS THE LEGALITY OF THESE MORE HUMAN LIKE CREATURES OWNING CREATURES WHO WALK ON ALL 4S??!? IS THERE A STATUS RANKING BETWEEN THOSE WHO WALK ON ALL 4’s COMPARED TO THOSE WHO WALK ON TWO?? PLZ I NEED ANSWERS-
Update my friend @flowerbloom-arts tried to make sense Of it and she said this
Tumblr media
For those who can’t see the image of the text:
Well first of all yes horses can talk, she appears to not be a regular horse though based on the ossicones on top of her hair, but also not a seahorse like the ones in Moominpappa at Sea or La Goona's horseI don't think they can be "owned" perse given that they're sentient beings unless certain kinds of slavery is still legal somehow, and even still characters like Muskrat are just oversized real animals and he seems fine.I'm guessing that they're... Fine. The guy isn't her owner and they met like any normal couple would, it just so happens that... One of them's a horse *end image description*

Ye elongated Muskrat is basically throwing an enormous tantrum over there because nobody likes his bs lmfao. for some reason talking about going to Tumblr isn't banned because he didn't think it was a threat????
Also there is pvp over there now in the form of elon giving people Twitter Blue against their will, which makes everyone think you're a basement dweller lmaoooooo
--Satou
Yeah, I've never actually had Twitter so I thankfully haven't had to deal with any of it personally. But I do love listening to people talk about everything that's happening over there. Every new piece of information is just even more crazy than he last lmfao
Also, to be fair, tumblr does suck ass lmao
I think more websites should have pvp like that. It's objectively hilarious 😂

Hi hi~! Life update here
Hi there!
Yes, I'm still alive lol, it's just that 85% of my social media time I currently spend it on Twitter (I refuse to call it how Elmo Muskrat wants the site to be called lol), and 15% I spend it on Bluesky (which, by the way, if you wanna find me there, I'm Eirenare too there lol).
I'm still very veeeeeery much in my Reylo brainrot haha, so yeah, you might see me posting or reblogging every now and then some of it, although I've been as well into some other stuff lately (Elden Ring for example), so you might see me posting about that too, so just a heads up there about it (and don't worry, everything I post here, regardless of what it is, as usual it'll have its tags and spoiler warnings, a "read more" if need be, etc).
My energy's been specially low for the past months though to be honest, so I can't guarantee I'll be very active around here (except for private messages, I'll be checking these every little time), just that every now and then I'll come here and post or reblog some stuff, probably Reylo and other things Star Wars or series/movies, life updates too, maybe will share in a bit of my Elden Ring brainrot and theories as its DLC approaches and I get more and more excited.
Anyways, here's some random life update stuff and anecdotes that I wanted to say before I log off for the night here:
I fell into the Kalluzeb (Kallus x Zeb, from Star Wars Rebels) rabbithole some time ago and it was, and is, neat, I love them so much
earlier today I had churros and hot chocolate as desert at lunch time and I was in cloud nine all the while I chomped on them
apparently my brain won't cease to come up with new Reylo AUs which is amazing and so much fun but also if I ever showed you guys screenshots of my Google Docs you might just faint because there are just so many things there between WIPs I'm currently working on that are already on Ao3, future things to go on Ao3, vague WIPs, AU ideas... and my energy is running so low and I'm working on various Ao3 WIPs so yeah lol I don't think I'll ever write even half of the fics I noted down
I watched Barbie at the cinema and it became one of my new comfort movies and one of my fave movies of all time
somehow I'm not as bad as I thought I'd be at Elden Ring even though I'm clumsy, a scaredycat and my tunnel vision goes lvl 100 when I'm playing videogames which usually means "good luck remembering to look at your stamina bar and using key items", so seeing myself not get too stuck on bosses was unexpected and neat (in fact, funnily enough: somehow this game even makes my anxiety lower at times and it barely increases it at all even when I'm fighting bosses, go figure lol)
I had the chance to buy Final Fantasy XVI at a much cheaper price than release price but because at that site I didn't see any warning that it was temporary, by the time I went to buy it, it had risen price again so now I'm awaiting once again for both better prices and for my wallet to recover
my brother bought a PS5 back in spring and a copy of Star Wars Jedi Survivor and, since we live in the same house, I did play that game and it was amazing asdfgffdgfjfb there were only a very few things I didn't like that much but holy shit was it good, some stuff even felt tailor-made for me in ways I wasn't expecting but that I enjoyed very much (and also the tears, the rivers of tears I shed on certain scenes lol) and now I'm super hyped for the 3rd whenever it is that it'll happen
the official Star Wars accounts at Twitter have been posting quite a bit about Reylo and the sequels and Ben for the past days (and I gotta say, the account from Spain even added some extra Reylo flavor in some tweets that other accounts didn't which is curious) and I'm clowning kinda hard, hoping that DLF finally realized most of the people actually like a lot Reylo (or don't mind it) and the ST, and hoping (always hoping, always dreading to hope too much, but hoping anyways) that we'll get Rey and Ben reunited in her movie
Anyways x2, enough anecdotes and thoughts for the night, see you around lovely people~! <3 Hopefully soon lol, but if not... *looks at 2024 fast approaching* if not, then I'll 100% be around to gossip and scream for when the Rey movie begins production and talks begin and all that stuff, lol.
Good night~! :D I hope you have a great day and/or a good sleep~! <3
EDIT: looooool apparently this was my 100th post in here and I got a free badge for my profile so yay, nice~ x) XDD

print("Hello, World!")
And goodbye, Twitter/X...
Tumblr media
It's a beautiful day.
You probably don't know, but I was on Twitter from around 2014 up until the dawn of X. (the name of the platform, not the punk band)
Yes, as I am somewhat ashamed to admit, I tolerated the Muskrat's consumerist bull crap for what may have been too long. I had previously experimented with Tumblr in the past, originally wanting to do an ask blog. (Yeah, remember those?) But alas, that account sat abandoned for a good few years before I deleted it. But I'm back.
To say my time on Twitter was all bad, would be a lie. I met some real nice people on Twitter, and I hardly ever had a bad experience. It was through Twitter I really started embracing my role in the Sailor Moon fandom. But once the Muskrat took over, it would be an understatement to say all hell broke loose - It was practically Armageddon.
Verified accounts being prioritized, limits being placed on the amounts of tweets you can view, punishing those who dared say a bad thing about the Muskrat, barring off links to other platforms, it's fair to say that The Social Media Platform (Formerly Known as Twitter) was slowly becoming a small authoritarian city-state of the Internet.
But I tolerated it. I endured it. But as with a lot of endurances, there will be a straw that will break the camel's back. And for me, that was X.
I was shocked. Flabbergasted, even. The Muskrat had basically stripped the platform of its very identity -- And for me, that was the breaking point. I had to get off Twitter. I put my account into an archive state, and earlier today, I deactivated it for real.
Thus bringing a bitter end to my time with Twitter. What started as a place to speak your mind, and share your interests, slowly but surely became a place to really watch your tongue lest Big Brother Muskrat banish you. I guess all good things must come to an end someday.
Long rant over; Allow me to introduce myself!
Hello, my name is Maxwell. I'm an artist type. I'm a huge fan of Sailor Moon, though not necessarily anime in general, and I also really enjoy things from decades before my birth -- Especially 1980's new wave music.
Now, I know what you're thinking, "Oh, you're just another one of those 'born in the wrong generation' type people, are you?"
Trust me, I've seen those kind of people. I don't know what they're like, but they seem a bit fake. However, I mean it. I genuinely love old music. Other interests of mine include SpongeBob SquarePants, retro video games, making song mashups, drawing cartoons, and Neil Cicierega. I am a liberal democrat, in case you were wondering.
I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at an early age, which puts me on the autism spectrum. The exact details I will not go into.
And that's really the lot of it. I hope to see you around!

Glass Onion - I Love it. Watch it pls. now here’s my rant.
(Glass onion spoilers) theres something so cathartic about watching billionaires go out in flames, and their dignity being publicly destroyed. As a huge murder mystery fan, the Glass Onion was a movie I was very excited to see, (its the sequel of Knives Out!!), and murder mysteries are amazing okay—, the spicy mystery, plot twist, funky suspense, and satisfaction style of them was ever present in the movie, for me to sink my teeth into. what I didn’t expect was for it to deliver me the same hearty satisfaction I derive from watching Elon Musk make a fool of himself as he derails twitter. Its some👌good stufff
I wasn’t ever a twitter user, and my twitter knowledge all comes from social media aus on ao3. But the joy i feel at seeing Muskrat suffering, as he clambers for public gratification on the website he owns, and proceeds to fail miserably is so euphoric. And Glass Onion, it just has that same joy of watching someone you hate immensely be utterly destroyed, and have their own words twisted on them as they cannot escape the horror of their own creation.
I also didn’t expect the amogus. I’m dying. Im so happy we got an amogus appearance. It was even foreshadowing for the end of the movie as well??? And ALSO was world building for the 2020 earlier pandemic setting bro. Im dying. I love among us, and the other games mentioned, bc they are so fun to play with friends. They know their audience, their audience is me. Amogus is my lifeblood. Queer detective playing among us ? Yes. Yes pls. 0-0 All the characters are so fun to look at, but the main characters both go so hard for different reasons. Bless Helen/Andi, and Blanc. They have a permanent space in my brain now.
Also, slightly disheartened bc I saw a post about the first 20 minutes being boring, and im so sad bc that was such a juicy 20 minutes and thats such under-appreciation of this crucial part of ‘setting the scene’. It was done really craftily, the foreshadowing and most importantly world building and characterisation (ie. the masks) just making for the meat of the movie. Ive had to deal with the idea that maybe people were not expecting a murder mystery, but a more action-esque movie, and so if you can’t deal the set up in this movie, murder mysteries probably arent for you. There is too much necessary to build up, and this movie did it so well, that if you don’t like it at its best...well. The huge fireworks of gold top tier everything plot that just blow up later in the movie are sparked by this 20 minutes, you couldnt have an impactful conflict without this. And also I love me some terrible rich people that are unapologetically awful because its a murder mystery, and a Knives out Sequel, you aren’t going to watch those rich annoyances anything but suffer later.
Final notes: so glad that that random dude on the island, did end up being a red herring and had no involvement in anything, love him for that.

One of the features I liked on Reddit was the recently introduced Mute feature. You could mute a subreddit and it wouldn’t show up in any listing. I used it on sports pages because I have no interest in sports (except r/theocho). I also used it on r/popping because I don’t want to see zits popped or cysts drained.
Everything else was fair game. Even r/conservative with the qultists. If nothing else, keep tabs on those dangerous individuals willing to eviscerate themselves to ‘own the libs’.
Then came the blackout in protest of the planned pricing for API access. Now, I believe a business has the right to run their business how they see fit. Even if it means piledriving it into the ground (looking at your stock prices, Muskrat). While unfortunate, it is what it is. And, like has happened time and again, I predicted people would whine, gripe, and complain about it. The blackout started, nowhere near enough subreddits joined the blackout to have any real effect, and it was basically wait them out. Others would create new subreddits to replace them and life would go on.
I’ve seen this happen time and again in many places over the years online. History has a habit of repeating itself. The lesson has been learned: You can always ride it out.
Instead, Reddit decided to force the subreddits open that they want and force out the moderators. They try crying about “democracy” in their fiefdom. Because, let’s face it, Reddit owns the land, the moderators just work it. Maybe they grow bountiful crops, maybe they grow twisted horrors beyond imagining, but they grew it and worked it and kept it fertile.
Now, Reddit is killing the goose that lays the golden egg. Moderators have to produce results according to their metrics. Oh yes, I’m using that horrid word because that’s what Reddit needs to have some kind of money making BS. Something that can be measured.
And free doesn’t have a metric.
Moderators, whether they’re reason people go to a subreddit because they make it usable or because they’re raging assholes who cultivate a select group of vicious brutes, work for free are free to work. This is a delicate balance. Sure, Reddit has rules, but they were not the kind that made things worthless. But they never directly profited off moderators’ work.
Now, they’re requiring moderators produce content so they can make money. They added weight to one side of the equation and the equation must balance. Moderators are no longer free to work, work is now required. Production must be had.
Reddit now has two options: Pay the moderators or don’t have moderators. And Reddit will pitch a fit at either option. Either their company personnel have to do the moderating or it becomes the Wild West. Or worse, 4-chan. I say 4-chan is worse because they will not be able to make any money off that at all. Nobody is going to invest in something like 4-chan when there’s actual 4-chan.
And I don’t think 4-chan will like the imposter.
So, I’ve done my part. My account was wiped and deleted. I had some good moments on there, but ultimately, they were moments. The memories will remain and I’ll move on, as I have in times past. Tumblr is fun and I’ll set up my tent here. All I can hope is that others leave like other sites and ideas that just decay with time: Usenet, AOL, LiveJournal, Myspace, Digg, FaceBook, Vine, Google+, and the countless forums I’ve passed through on this 30+ year journey we call the internet.
And to the moderators who stay, even the ones in r/conservative, I hope you get better pay for your work. Peace.

I am losing my shit over the Snood character wiki pages. I haven’t thought about this game since I played it for HOURS on my mom’s computer. But the name “Mildred” came up in a conversation and my brain said, “wasn’t there a Snood named Mildred?”
Turns out yes, yes there is a Snood named Mildred. For reference, here she is. Gray with the lips.
Tumblr media
Some utterly unhinged human being has crafted the most absurd wiki pages for each Snood. They will unfortunately live rent free in my brain forever now.
Obviously I need to share some choice excerpts from Mildred’s page. It starts out innocently enough, this sentiment I could agree with.
“Mildred is the meanest of the snoods.”
But about three quarters of the way down the page it goes OFF with:
“Her two emotions are fake kindness and utter disdain.
She's anti-vaxx and believes in the q-anon conspiracy theory. She has had COVID twice but continues to post that it is a hoax.
She is very active on twitter. You can imagine the shit she posts. She also pays for Twitter Blue because she loves the Elongated Muskrat so much.”
Excuse me, WHAT. And then:
“Mildred has close-minded views towards transgender people and holds strong disdain towards Sunny because of that.”
(That paragraph is followed by an embedded image of the Reddit meme about a trans woman naming herself Mildred.)
I am completely dead. And the rest of the character pages are just as wild. But also I downloaded Snood onto my phone lmao. It’s free.
This was not something I expected on my 2023 bingo card.

The thing that gets me about The Muskrat flailing around asking people what they’d be willing to pay for a blue checkmark is that is defeats the purpose of the blue checkmark, but the whole thing is a kind of fascinating revelation on the nature of fame. Like, the blue checkmark is not supposed to indicate somebody using a different, or superior version of Twitter, it’s supposed to be “Hey, we at twitter have confirmed that this account belongs to the person or organization you probably think it belongs to based on the name”. The blue check is an indication that this person is famous enough that it’s worth indicating that this account belongs to them. This, inevitably, turns the checkmark into a sign of social status. “You are famous enough to have this little badge”. It’s a sign of esteem Which then leads to Elon Musk trying to sell the checkmark as a subscription, because “Spend money get Status” is kind of his whole thing. Like, it hasn’t occurred to him that the problem isn’t the price, it’s that by giving the mark to anybody willing to pay, you destroy it’s actual function. And also that the checkmark is a tool for Twitter to make it’s OWN service more valuable. It’s a way for Twitter to say “Yes, this is the real twitter account of Bob Celebrity!”. Bob Celebrity tweeting is how twitter gets it’s value.
