Heeseung held your gaze as if he were frozen in time and space. The sexual tension burned like firey flames from your hearts. But nothing could have prepared you for this moment.

The moment when his delicate lips would meet yours.

The moment your lives would change forever...

Heeseung had called you the night before to make plans for today.

"There's something I want to talk to you about," he whispered softly, "In person..." his words trailed off.

What could be so important that he couldn't just tell you over the phone. Heeseung rarely blew things out of proportion, which left you curious. Wondering what he wanted to talk about.

Somehow you managed to tuck your curiosity away in the deepest part of your mind for the majority of the day as the two of you hung out together. Though you couldn't deny the fact that he had done a great job keeping you distracted.

"Hey, what do you think about this?" he giggled as he turned around to show you a pair of oversized glasses.

"I think you look like a clown," you chuckled back, watching as a bright smile grew across his face.

"Him, you're right. Maybe they'd look better on you," he said as he walked closer to you, placing the glasses on your face. His expression softened as you adjusted the glasses yourself.

"I probably look even dumber than you," you scoffed lightly, pulling your lips into a slight smirk. You watched as Heeseung's eyes followed your movements. "Uhh..." you started, cutting through the silence. "You okay?"

"Yeah," he smiled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm just a little hungry. How about we go get something to eat?" He asked.

"Sure, what're you in the mood for?"

"Pizza?"

"Wow! I'm surprised you didn't say ramen," you said in an attempt to keep the conversation going.

"Well, I only like it when I make it," he smiled. "It's not like I can really make my own pizza," he chuckled as the two of you walked off.

After sunset, you and Heeseung walked across Brooklyn Bridge. You loved how it lit up at night, the lights mimicking the stars in the sky that were harder to see out here.

Heeseung knew how much you loved stargazing, but couldn't do it anymore after relocating to such a big city. The sense of longing washed over you as you walked across the metallic structure.

"What?" you asked as you felt Heeseung's gaze on you.

"Nothing, I was just thinking about something."

"Does it have anything to do with that thing you wanted to tell me last night?" your question hung in the air for a bit before Heeseung let out a sigh.

"Uhh...yeah, but I'd rather talk about it in private," he said as the two of continued your walk across the bridge before entering Cadman Plaza Park.

The air was cool and moist, and the streetlights highlighted small puddles of water that pooled near the botanical arrangements. At this point, you had just noticed that Heeseung was holding your hand.

You walked with him under a set of trees, away from the other few people who were also enjoying a night walk in New York.

You lied down in the grass next to Heeseung as you peaked through the tree branches to see the night sky bleeding through.

"____..."

"Yeah?"

"You know that thing I wanted to tell you?" He rolled onto his side to face you, propping his body up on his elbow.

You waited patiently for him to speak, as you could see his shy side coming out. He bit his lip softly before continuing.

"I-I don't want this to ruin our friendship or anything, but," he paused, playing with the grass between his fingers. "I really like you...and I have for a long time."

To be honest, you had liked Heeseung from the beginning, but you settled for a friendship rather than a relationship and you still didn’t know why.

He looked embarrassed as hell. You took a little too long to respond, leaving an uncomfortable amount of silence in the atmosphere.

“Sorry,” he mumbled. “Just forget I said anything,” he continued before lying down on his back, closing his eyes after taking a deep breath.

A thought crossed your mind and you weren’t gonna be stupid enough to let it pass by. You leaned over to kiss Heeseung’s lips.

His cheeks were slightly red his doe eyes jumped open when you placed your hand on his chest. “I like you too, and I have for a long time now,” you smiled.

His lips formed into a smile as he pulled your face into his, kissing you again. You straddled his body as he gripped onto your waist, pulling your body closer to his. You slowly rocked back and forth, feeling him grow harder beneath you.

Though you had just started, the sexual tension was strong now and your movements excited him. It was obvious by the way he sat up and breathlessly gasped for your touch.

Your tongues intertwining as he moved down to your neck. “Maybe we should continue this somewhere else,” he chuckled softly against the wetness on your neck as you reached to palm his bulge.

“Yeah, you’re probably right about that,” you said looking at his flushed face and ruffled hair. “Would it be weird if I said you look hotter with your hair like this,” you smirked.

“Not weird, but definitely enticing. Makes me wonder what you would look like all flustered and messy,” he said before kissing your lips again.

i only JUST recently drew Headmaster Perrault again the other day, so this one is recent:

as for others, the rest i have to offer are much older so the quality of the art isn’t all that great. that being said, here’s what i have:

these were like the very first sketches i did of Determined “Deter” Charming

these ones were a bit later and a bit better. he’s the only one i actually have anything of that’s in color.

this is the only drawing i have of Wanda Spice that i could remember.

and then this was Djay Djinn. again, these are old so there’s sorta wonky proportions and anatomy. my bad.

i also recall having doodled Emma Elf but i can’t seem to find that one at the moment. but yeah, these are all the Never After High designs i have on me.

5) uhh honestly I dunno, people have said it's realistic with cartoony features other people call it a weird more cartoony form of anime, ig just my own style?? Cause I see where they're coming from I have taken inspo from all those things and shaped it into something of my own style:)).

6) Zip. She's pretttyyyy much the one thing I've been drawing since day one of digital. Now I did have this other OC I did draw non stop their name was like XZIRLIC?? (All caps cuz I'm sure that how I wrote it on paper 💀) I've been thinking of re-drawing them but they are a WILD OC I have. I also have this horse pony thingy I don't think I ever gave it a name 💀.

7) For books uhhh I haven't really read anything too new to me. But there was a book a few years back around the time covid stuck up that I got from target 💀 it was called' a wolf called wander/wonder (can't remember) ' it was about this wolf that left their home after their clan died from this other wolf clan past the mountains seeking haven. It don't think I ever finished it 😭 I was thinking about re-reading it but I do have another new book I got. Movie? Mhmm I have a lot of those ig mostly John wick movies, a little free guy is good to, another good one I recently watched was bullet train. (I'm sure you can see where this is going 💀💀) so mostly comedic violence (No this doesn't go for like SAW or some bs that shit is nasty AF man.) My favorite show of all time is the good place. Shocker ikr /sar I got into it about mid way last year and has watched it over and over again it's become a comfort show of mine. I also like the concept of it with all the plot twists but also teaching people about philosophy!? That's fuckin awesome.

8) pfft I am a fan of a lot of creators- I really like @/whoectypes stuff I really like their OC designs and how they're building a world, they are also a super cool person in general. I'm not close to them I wouldn't even call each other friends or anything, more of moots, we both support each other and treat each other with respect. For another person?? @/cupsie most definitely, they were actually one of my first followers. And then we became like besties cuz yk we simp for ray- I mean ram- I mean cause of a common interest. I really like how they use pastels and they doo rubber hose soooo gooooooddddd arugh I just start jumping up and down and flapping my lil silly hands when I see their art /pos. Now I don't take inspo from any creators that I remember seeing on this app (or at least not intentional) alot of my inspiration comes from dali. **Insert dramatic duh duh DUHHH here** yeah dali. I grew up with dali, now the real question is, "how can a cartoonist be inspired to start drawing from a surrealist?!" Actually surrealism and cartoonism is actually VERY similar, look at the colors look at how proportions aren't correct, don't look directly at the picture look at what something has to be deemed surrealism and cartoonism in a modern day conversation (omg me actually being kinda stupid and smart 🤯). Anyways before we get off track is the question ' how? ' the answer to the question is **drum roll please** colors :p. And the flowy-ness of his art, you can see a lot of different ways I use like smoke or water, that's from looking at dalis work, same with all his vibrant colors ugh I love it. I didn't study off of him, oh no. I just live a bike ride away to a museum that features his work so granted I would go there like every other month or something stupid cause of school or families in town, so I'm quite familiar with his art. So as DR. Seuss there's a mini art gallery again a bike ride away and they change out the paintings and sculptures like every other month or something. So you get more familiar with his work. Same reasons as dali too color and flow.

She's finally here!!!!!

Here's the character formerly known as "Heart", now formally known as Harmony! ...for now at least, again, nothing is final yet.

Even in the robot society still slowly rebuilding itself, art and culture have been steadily on the rise as well, with Harmony being one of this new world's first celebrities in the field of music. A crowd-pleaser to her (easily visible) core, she wishes to excite and inspire the world into a better place.

However, with the surprise emergence of the Plantoids, Harmony made the daring choice to aid in the frontlines of this new war. Fortunately, she's equipped for more than just the show stage. While her large frame is conveniently hard to miss in a crowd, she's also innately built to take heavier damage than her dainty demeanor would imply. This is reinforced by her Core Shield, a protective energy she can emit from her unique and mysterious core battery. She can draw on its power to not only reduce damage she takes, but also draw away harm that nearby allies would take. She also puts her singing skills to use with her Amp Blaster, a unique weapon that creates blasts of energized sound based on Harmony's vocalizations. (only the microphone half of the weapon is shown here because drawing guns into poses is hard.) She also carries around a secondary piece of sound equipment, the Null Speaker, which creates unique blasts of a noise frequency that dissipate projectiles it collides with. (also not drawn because I don't know exactly what I want it to look like.)

So yeah! Here she is at last. Not totally satisfied with this design, the proportions are wonky as ever and the hair feels a little straightforward, but I think I got down her basic look and silhouette to be satisfying enough for at least a bit. I'm proud of the face at least, and feel like I got a fun visual motif going, based in large part on her temporary name. Next up to draw though is actually a character who had a functional design, but needs an overhaul to fit his kit changing since then. And after that... I think I'm actually somewhat caught up with everyone at least having some art? Weird.

no I just read your analysis in König's hands and I cannot possibly understand if someone can have hands like that, I EVEN GOT MY TAPE MEASURE OUT AND IT SCARED ME

basically, I'm 4'11 and my hands are small, like barely 5", my phone has the same height and it's too big for me to use with one hand only and I still can't comprehend how is that possible. It doesn't make sense (I mean that's the fun part of it but damn, sometimes I forget how much of an oompa loompa I am)

That’s why I did three different photos, each with their own reference and scale, so I’d be able to get a collective average, but he just kept being huge. He’s fucking huge.

We know there tends to be a positive correlation between height and the size of someone’s hands — the taller someone is, the more likely they are to have bigger hands.You’re 59 inches tall with nearly 5-inch hands. I’m 68 inches with 7-inch hands. I’m 9 inches taller than you and my hands are 2 inches longer. Our dearest König is 82 inches with, presumably, 10-inch hands. So, he’d be 14 inches taller than me and his hands would be 3 inches longer. He’d be 23 inches taller than you with a nearly double hand length. That is fucking terrifying, but it does make some proportional sense.

I was poking around in NBA height/hand size listings because I was like “hey that’s a bunch of absurdly tall people with publicly listed hand measurements” and it does line up that people around Königs height have about 9.5/10-inch hand lengths.

I don’t know anything about basketball so don’t ask me who these people are, I was just looking at their measurements, but for example:

Greg Smith is 6’10” with a hand length of 9.8 inches, he’s our boys height and literally 0.2 inches away from my wonky estimate. Connie Hawkins, at 6’8”, was 2 inches shorter than König with a hand length of 10.5 inches Kawhi Leonard, at 6’7”, is a whole 3 inches shorter than König with a hand length of 9.75 inches

The bit about your phone is so funny because I found out there’s this dude (Boban Marjanovic) who’s 7’4” and uses an iPad as a phone. A fucking iPad. Human genetics are so fucking weird, I swear.

There are people as tall as König irl — there’s even people taller than him — they’re just way above the average. I’m fairly tall for a female born person but like, one of my friends is 7 inches taller than me so I forget that I’m “tall” until my other friend reminds me that I’m 6 inches taller than her. I think you’re short, but König would think we’re both short lol.

But yeah, I’ve been freaking out about how big König is since I did those measurements, like holy fuck.

I think the difference between these two drawings is really interesting. They’re about 10 months apart, and I think there’s a good bit of improvement 🤔

• The posing/figure of Jack in the new drawing feels a lot more natural and proportional compared to the old one, especially around the waist/legs, and the set of his shoulders/arms

• The outfit of the new drawing feels more probable, like a more probable appearance in this situation (because it is lol, this drawing is inspired by Year 1 Comic 12!). If Jack were being angsty alone in the locker room, he would probably at least have his jersey off by this point. (Even though he still has his skates on for some reason? I figure the skates add interest to the composition idk)

• The background of the old drawing has a lot more extra bits of interest, but overall I feel like they retract from the overall composition rather than improve it. It kinda feels like the objects are added onto the drawing rather than belong and exist within the drawing

• More on that, I feel like the background of the new drawing has a bit more depth and shape, like it doesn’t feel as flat as the older one

• When it comes to the style change, this is a bit more subjective and up to preferences, but for this specific idea and execution, I kinda feel like the new drawing might work better. The drawing isn’t simply a portrait, but instead it’s the composition of a singular character as the focal point within a setting, and I just feel like I was personally able to execute that idea better in the style of the new drawing

• More on the style, the old drawing’s lines and tone/shade changes are way too sharp I think, and not very smooth, and it just distracts the eye instead of welcomes it

• The faces. I personally loathe the way I did Jack’s face in the old drawing. It’s SO wonky, I can’t believe I didn’t catch it before I uploaded it. But oh well, live and learn

• One aspect where I think the older drawing is actually better is in the shadows, specifically the shadows around Jack and underneath his legs. I think that in the new drawing I could’ve made his under-leg shadows a bit darker, so he felt more grounded within the composition

• Another tweak I would make if I could go back, would be to sharpen up the lines and shades of the upper left area of the drawing, around the hooks and back of the cubby, it feels a little flat to me

• Finally, one last change I would make would be to Jack’s head shape. It just seems a tiny bit small, or maybe angled wrong? Maybe it’s his hair, I probably could’ve spent more time on that area. That was the last section I worked on before basically being done, other than touch-ups and corrections, and by that point I was kinda losing steam and wanted to get it done with lol

Anyways, yeah! Those are my thoughts when comparing these two drawings, I figured some of y’all might be interested to hear a little bit about my drawing thought process haha

Clothes only get in the way!! I technically don't need them anymore, since I don't exactly have the uhh.. parts to hide.

You play otome right? Do you have any suggestions for ones I can play on my phone? I've played Mystic Messenger (super fun as a concept but somehow DID make my awful sleep schedule worse), obey me, and the arcana (Asra and Nadia my beloveds). Thanks :)

Oh, the pain of Mystic Messenger. I started playing it during the pandemic when I wasn't able to work so messing up my sleep schedule didn't cause too many problems. lol

Arcana Twilight — it has the same format as Obey Me, there's no character routes but you can build intimacy with the characters and get chats/calls with them. Some of the translations are a bit wonky but I really love the art style for this game and the story is honestly super intriguing. It's slow to update so you could play through it and update/play it again when the new content releases.

Court of Darkness — a more traditional route-based game. I found some of the routes to be kind of mediocre or bad even though I liked the characters. You know how problems get blown out of proportion because people can’t communicate? Yeah, I got frustrated by that a lot. I also found the MC character annoying but maybe it was just the routes I played.

The Ikemen series are an easy recommendation for me. I think I loved almost every Sengoku route I played and I’ve replayed some of them multiple times. Vampire and Prince are both great too. I don’t believe Revolution is being updated anymore but if any of those characters interest you, I’d play it anyway. lol It’s worth noting that I liked the MC character in these games a lot more than CoD.

Dangerous Fellows — it’s a zombie apocalypse otome and I’ll be honest, I only played it for the yandere character. lol

Sception Reads Cass Cain #7

So there are like a bunch of issues in a row where Cassandra shows up for just a panel or two each. Not really enough to make a full post on, and in the future I'll probably skip appearances like this unless there's something particularly noteworthy about them, but since there are this many in a row, and taken together they illustrate a point I've harped on in other posts, let's take a quick look.

Detective Comics #738 pencils by Mat Broome

There's a big explosion! So big that all these people around the city hear/feel it. Including Cass, who looks fine, but why does penguin get a full column and Cass has to share her column with, what, is that Bullock? like from the cartoon show? Eh, it's fine.

Detective Comics #739 pencils by Damion Scott

Hey, it's our guy Scott, with his signature cartoony expressive rubbery style. This a big issue for Harvey Dent, Jim Gordon, and Renee Montoya, and Scott really goes all out to get their emotions onto the page. But we're here for our girl, and here she is in the group shot. Proportions are a touch wonky, but if there's one artist we can trust to give us a recognizable Cass, even in costume, even with only a single panel group shot to do it, it's Scott. And yeah, she looks good - the pose gives her a bit of a cocky attitude, and the shadows on her mask give you a sense of her face, or at least the impression that there is a face - maybe too small in this group shot to really make out her expression too well, but at least she doesn't read as faceless here.

Patricia Mulvihill did the colors for this issue, and gives us a non-cannon variant color scheme for Cass's costume - Navy blue for the cape and cowl and dark grey for the body suit instead of the usual black for both, with solid black reserved for the inside of the bat symbol outline on her chest making it pop out more. Honestly I kind of prefer this? But I generally prefer the grey and navy bat suits over flat black on Bruce as well.

See, the monochrome black suits are a bit flat and boring by comparison, and a lot of colorists don't know how to render them in a way that they don't just look grey or blue instead of black anyway, at which point why not just embrace it and make them grey & blue to begin with?

But anyway, Cass shows up with Bruce at the end of this issue in her aspect as Batman's Shadow / Silent Enforcer, and you know I'm not a huge fan of that characterization. Visually though... she looks off here, imo. Wrong proportions, too tall / head too small. Doesn't read as a teenager, imo. Something weird going on with her cape. But she's only barely there in the background and largely obscured by Bruce or dialog bubbles, so it's not like the artist had a lot of room to work with here.

Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #124 pencils by Rafael Kayanan

I'm... not sure what's going on in that one panel... Is she standing on the crossbow? Ninja or not, I'm pretty sure he would have noticed that and also not been able to support it. Is she just landing on it to knock it off aim? Then why is there so little sense of motion? Weird panel. The kick is fine, though.

Perfectly serviceable art for Cass in costume here. No particular notes or complaints from me. I especially like the way Kayanan does billowing scalloped bat capes. We also have Cass in her canon black next to Bruce in my preferred blue and grey, from a colorist who can definitely show the difference between the three. Oh, what could have been!

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #93 pencils by Paul Ryan

Busy issue with tons of characters and a lot going on. Batman's mostly made up with Gordon at this point, they're getting together for some planning and mission assignments. Still Cass as the silent shadow, but for once Cass is shadowing Azrael instead of Batman.

They get a mission here that will play out in tomorrow's post.

In the mean time, I don't think the artist did a particularly great job with Cass here, but it's not bad at all. Plus these are a couple small and crowded panels in an issue with just so many different characters so I'm inclined to cut them some slack.

Here we have five different extremely brief appearances for Cass across five different comic issues with different artists. The quality imo varies - I'm not a big fan of Purcell's Cass/Batgirl, I think Kayanan's is cool as heck, etc - but what I really want to call attention to, pulling back a bit from the slightly more positive note I ended up on last time, is that in of all of these brief, background/group shot appearances, imo her individual personality and identity really only comes across in Damion Scott's art.

In that panel I see the cocky teenager who's having fun, because being Batgirl is fun to her! Yes, she can at times be as broody as any Gotham hero. Yes she struggles with guilt and trauma. But she loves being Batgirl. The enjoyment she gets out of the role is a core part of her struggles with guilt, and the whole internal conflict falls apart if being Batgirl is just a labor, just a burden for her to bear.

If you look at all the non-Scott panels here, the ones I like the art for and the ones I don't, in all of them Batgirl is a faceless shadow, a generic silent ninja. She's a cypher, reserved and unknowable. And not only is that Not Cass, it's also just kind of boring and generic? Not only are there a million characters like that in comic books, those characters are mostly nameless mooks and henchmen.

When other heroes show up for similar one off group shot, background panel type appearances, they can still emote somewhat since their faces aren't fully covered. They can still throw out a quippy little comment since they aren't mute. The interpersonal family dynamics of Batman's found family are built on those little moments every bit as much as the big ones, and Cass's conceptual gimmicks excluder from them. Is it any wonder that so many writers and editors never really treated her as part of the family?

Fanart for @squidkid15 and @lotusmonkey 's Core AU for LMK. I adore it so much. In case it wasn't clear this art is made for their fanfic ^^

I apologize in advance for any inaccurate designs or anything like that, I tried searching through the tag for character designs and all I found was Macaque so I tried to follow that as best as I could.

I've also barely drawn these guys soo yeah 😅

I didn't know what I was doing I just had some images in my head and even though I haven't drawn them enough yet to pull off exactly what I wanted I'm still happy with them (even if they look a little wonky but again chalking that up to lack of experience and exhaustion near the end).

This scene with the blue in the cores in particular is one of my favorites, right beside Macaque and Wukong's convo in the kitchen. So. I had to draw it.

Alright enough nervous rambling hope you like it! Sorry again for all the wonkiness and any design mess-ups, lack of experience + tiredness (but brain demanding I finish before sleep) + only finding Macaque kinda resulted in a bit of a jumble but hopefully it's fine 😅

I tried the last drawing twice, I decided I wanted to redo the first one I did because while it served it's purpose it wasn't really what I was wanting (and also I forget MK was monkey until I was almost done 😅)

The proportions also bugged me too much (they're not my strong suit but they can still irritate me sometimes)

SO HEY, DISCLAIMER! This is all very old art from like 2019!! The reason I’m reposting these is because, if you’ve seen my last post, I’m in the process of moving from DeviantArt to InkBlot. And I realized a few of my older drawings were only posted to here as thumbnails... why did I ever thinks that was a good idea. :u

Anyways, now posting the full art for at least some of those thumbnail pics, mainly to keep as a backup here on Tumblr. These are old and wonky enough that I don’t really feel like keeping them on InkBlot too. But I still want to keep them for reference for my Maddy and Match fan kids of course. So yeah! :P

And bonus drawing of figuring out alternate outfits for Maddy, and a silly pic with TorchMan and ColorMan, because why not, I got room here.

Behold as I draw something super self-indulgent and silly! Match and Maddy with children! Admittedly this is the first time in a long while that I've tried to draw children, and I'm not sure if the proportions really look right...? Ah well, at least that's something I can keep in mind to practice. :P A friend mentioned that Maddy's outfit on another pic I did (the alternate outfits one) seemed kinda like a mom outfit, so that's Maddy's designated mom outfit now. And I guess Match's outfit here can be his designated dad outfit! Not sure what it is about button down shirts that exude dadness, but I'll roll with it. Anyways, the kids! From left to right, Akihoshi, Eilionoir, and Cináed (who goes by Kentaro because no one can pronounce his real name xD ). I will be doing pics of them as adults/with their Navis and explaining them a bit more there. For now I hope this kinda gives an idea of each of their personalities! (Also, fun fact, Akihoshi is obviously the youngest, but Eilionoir is the actual oldest of the three. Kentaro just ends up growing up to be much taller than everyone else, ha ha)

So continuing from my last pic of a fanmade set of kids for Maddy and Match, a pic of their eldest as an adult! And with her Navi! Basically inheriting HeatMan from her dad (who exists separately from TorchMan due to Reasons that I will hopefully get into with the comics I'm planning to do, I promise ^^; ) Starting with her name, Maddy insisted that Match pick out Scottish names for them because she thought it'd be really cool. With Match not actually being Scottish in my story set up (this will hopefully come up at some point, but basically my headcanon is that his family has at least one Scottish ancestor somewhere down the line due to the red hair and all, but his family is basically Japanese people faking a Scottish accent at this point :P ), he just looked up some names and picked what looked good. On that note, neither Maddy nor Match know how "Eilionoir" is supposed to be pronounced anyways, but since it's a Scottish form of Eleanor, they just pronounce it the same as Eleanor. Ellie herself eventually insists it's pronounced "Ellie-noir" (like the French word for black) to make it sound fancier! :D Anyways, basically, all of Maddy and Match's quirkness/weirdness as afterschool cartoon villains went into Ellie. She's very wild and can also be creepy at times, but overall is still a good person (at the least, she doesn't get tempted to be a villain like most people would have expected). Especially when it comes to her family, you better not mess with them! She loves fire, knives, and masks (and has a collection of the latter two), and works as an intern Net Agent before eventually becoming a chef. Also she gets along great with HeatMan, especially when it comes to burning up losers! ... I am still iffy about how HeatMan's right hand turned out, but then again, with his robotic/unusual shapes, it's hard to tell how some things could look at a certain angle. @_@; I did my best! And at the least I can say I love how Ellie's pose turned out. :D EDIT: I forgot to mention when I first posted this, Ellie's gloves are specifically meant to be what's called "weighted-knuckle glove", which is more or less a combination of gloves and brass knuckles. Extra punching power!!

And now the middle child! Kentaro, with FlameMan as his Navi! (Who also exists separately from TorchMan and HeatMan in my little story thing, so yeah :P ) His real name is Cináed (pronounced kinda like "Ken-Ahj") and is another case of Maddy making Match find a Scottish name for their kid. In this case, the name ends up so confusing for other people to pronounce, that the kid himself just ends up changing it to Kentaro. Plus he went by Kentaro and Ken as nicknames anyways (based on how his original name was pronounced), so it worked out in the end. Kentaro is much more calm and 'normal' compared to Ellie. He's quiet, though not in a shy sense, just more "Doesn't like talking if he doesn't need/want to". He's also the tallest, taller than his parents, and even compared to someone like Count Zap (who is listed as being around 6'1" in the BN Complete Works book, fun fact ). Maddy and Match aren't sure how that happened, but they love their son just the same. He eventually becomes a fantasy novelist (his own mom ends up being one of Kentaro's biggest fans. xD ), and had FlameMan modified/reprogrammed to be able to act as his editor and proofreader (with a vast knowledge of grammar rules, cliches to avoid/be aware of, etc). This comes in exchange for some attack power, but FlameMan doesn't mind much, since Kentaro himself isn't much for Netbattling, while FlameMan himself has kinda-sorta 'retired' from battling after going through the Battle Network 3 stuff. That doesn't mean he's not strong and can certainly put up a fight if he has too, he's just not at the same level of fire power (haha) he was back then! ... now onto the drawing itself, man, FlameMan is yet another one of those Navis that you can't quite figure out how the hell he's supposed to look from different angles. His legs and the fire sockets in his body really don't help either!! You can tell I got lazy with said fire sockets, but at the least I think I did well on getting his legs to look right. :u Also still kinda iffy about how Kentaro's hands turned out. Should they be a bit bigger for someone his size? I kept debating on that while drawing this, but I didn't want to end up giving him hands that were too big at the same time. And a bonus, the colors of Kentaro's shirt and pants are based off of the outfit Match wears in BN2! Slightly changed the colors a bit though. Also, his hoodie is based off of one I have myself! Just with different colors and rings on it. :D Edit: Oops, forgot to put in the characters Kentaro picks for his name. Strong/healthy (健, 'ken'), big (太, 'ta'), and son (郎, 'ro'). Kinda straightforward and literal, though that makes it easier for people to remember his name. xD Also, I think the "ro" character can also be written as "rou", though I am not sure if that makes too big of a difference in pronunciation?

Okay, I have a bunch to explain here (and even then I can't go into too much detail with spoiling a story I wanna draw :P ) but let's get started with Akihoshi himself. The last and youngest of Maddy and Match's kids, Akihoshi! Match insisted that they give this kid a Japanese name this time, compared to the other two. xD Akihoshi's name is spelled with the characters for autumn (秋, 'aki') and star (星, hoshi). He's naturally anxiety prone and in general tends to worry more than most people do. Not because of any terrible event, he just ended up unluckily having anxiety problems (he gets better eventually though, mainly thanks to his parents (after making it clear they aren't mad at him for it and just want to help) and making sure he gets therapy and medication). Once he gets a handle on that, he goes on to be a teacher like his parents! In my little story timeline they're both teachers. :P Also, his Navi is... NovaMan! Who is basically a reprogrammed (kinda) StarMan. Much more cheery and carefree than Akihoshi, and is fairly essential in making sure his operator got through the day during his earlier years (while Akihoshi was learning how to handle his anxiety problems), and generally helps Akihoshi look on the bright side of things! And can also be very scary if anyone dares to give Akihoshi a hard time... So with NovaMan, getting into too much specifics would be spoilers for his origin story chapter. But basically, in my story-set-up-thing, StarMen are generic Navis used for satellite control/maintenance. NovaMan was originally a regular StarMan who got his memory and personality wiped due to Reasons, but eventually gets better thanks to Maddy and Match and their Navis saving him, in a way. Also he's basically ColorMan and TorchMan's son, and refers to them as Pa and Dad respectively. They were kinda weirded out by the idea of being parents at first (especially since, really, it was NovaMan who decided they were his parents :P ) but they got used to it. They're proud dads now! :D For the art itself, ahh, this was so much easier to draw than the other two! You can probably tell by how quickly this is being submitted since Kentaro's pic. Then again, it helps that NovaMan was SO much easier to draw compared to FlameMan and HeatMan. :P Anyways, overall pleased with how this turned out, yay! :>

This is for the comic idea I'm planning for, but this is admittedly like... something that probably won't appear in the comic for a looong time. :P But anyways, I'm trying to decide on a new outfit for Maddy, something more casual/civilian? Well, her main outfit is kinda like that already but ehh. So the basics I decided on are: shirt-with-puffy-sleeves, capri pants, and... how would you describe these kinds of shoes? I don't know much shoe terminology, I just wanted to make shoes that look comfortable to wear and walk in. Oh, also the glasses are a constant here. There's some concept art of Maddy where she's wearing glasses, so I imagine she does need glasses to see but otherwise normally wear contacts! Well, I guess that's more of a headcanon, huh? The shirt in the middle is cute, but at the same time I feel like it's almost too-cutesy for Maddy? And admittedly the colors for the capris in the left outfit were based on the colors for her normal pants anyways, so maybe that's too derivative. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things. :P I might just mix and match with different combos of the outfit-pieces here, I don't know. Well, I'm not in too much of a hurry to decide on a main-new outfit for Maddy, since like I said, it'll still be a while before I start the comic anyways. So I've got a while to think about it! At the least I wanted to share this now for a bit of feedback/suggestions (If anyone doesn't mind!) Edit: Also! Her pose here is kinda-sorta based on her pose in her official art! Her left hand still looks... a little wonky, but eh, I tried at least!

Fun fact, Rush from the anime is based off of viruses called Moles in the games (in the English version of the games at least, they're actually still called Rush in the originals :P ). The battle chip you can get from them is called PopUp, which made me think that they probably act like pop-up ads. xD As advanced as the Battle Network world is, they still have viruses to deal with, so they probably have plenty of other computer-related issues too (pop-up ads, spyware, lag, etc).
