If you could only recommend one episode --two-parters count as one for this--of any Sonic show [cartoon, anime?] to someone really only familiar with SA2B, what would you suggest? Semi-related follow-up; are the live-action films worth watching, as someone actively in the fandom? I dunno if I'll get around to them, I'm still barely sticking my toes back in since playing the games in high-school haha. But I thought I'd at least get a good place to start? Cheers!

oh my god I have suddenly forgotten every single sonic show ever. um. this isn't an episode of a show but the sonic ova movie is super fucking good, its legit my favourite sonic iteration, and its somewhere around 50 minutes long iirc? wait actually it does count as two episodes of a show, they were gonna be for an anime that never actually got made, so it was just the two 30 minute episodes that got released that now are often just presented as a singular movie

if anyone else has any recs then please, I'm really bad at this shsjdjs

As for the live action movies, I really enjoy them so I'd say they're worth watching, but that being said. A lot of people don't like them because they're very different to like every other iteration and also theres some shit that doesn't sit right, the main one being that they made sonic's best friend a cop and presented that as a Good Thing

The movies are very dear to me I love them so much, but most people tend to either also love them or straight up hate them, from what I've seen shdjd. I do think they're worth watching, even if its just to be able to discuss what you think about them with others

Thank you. I think the reason I’m patient, honestly, is because the truth is: I’m kind of tertiary to this. Kelogul and Ellerian are the most impacted -- Kelogul because he feels pretty dehumanized in ways that neither Ellerian and I can understand, and Ellerian because he was closest to both of them. Ellerian is pretty central to everyone. We joke that any one of us could die and the group would survive -- but if Ellerian’s gone, we all fade in like a year. I appreciate the offer, and thank you.

Thank you, it’s honestly somewhat relieving to hear shit like this from strangers because it’s like.. We’re also sitting here like: are we idiots for believing this? There were red flags in the past, but we overlooked them because it’s like.. who wants to accuse someone you’ve been friends with for 11 years of lying? It’s just wild.

I’ll be okay, it’s just bizarre and I miss like, a year ago when we were all great friends shitposting about foot fetishes. I want to make it clear that I’m sad, but more sympathies should be extended to Kelogul and Ellerian. They’re the ones much more deeply impacted by this. Not on a “losing a D&D campaign” kind of way, but a “holy shit I feel manipulated and used” kind of way.

But this is the way it was inevitably going to end. Even if we were all the best of friends when she told us she did this, it’d still be over. You can’t just walk back gaslighting a group of people into thinking you’re a Japanese person for over a decade. And Kelogul would not be okay with that. He’s spoken extensively about his experiences regarding race, and this kind of action isn’t forgivable to him. And we can’t blame him.

That level of dishonesty is perplexing on so many levels. I'm sorry you were put through all that. For what it's worth, I personally hope Kelogul comes back, if only because I feel like one person's weird lies shouldn't be allowed to demolish an entire social circle like this :(

Even if the D&D campaign dies, honestly, we’re taking steps to make amends with Kelogul. Kelogul was in a bad spot when we all had that blow up, but he’s expressed legitimately condolences for how it turned out. We’re playing games again, we’re vibing. The campaign might die, but he’ll still be our friend. And that’s more important than a D&D campaign, y’know?

Like the reality is that with D&D.. yeah it’s all made up fun times. But you definitely put yourself into it. People often play characters that are aspirational, or have a piece of themself in it. So when a campaign ends like this, it feels like a representation of your entire social circle falling apart. But you move on, and you reform. I’ve been in campaigns that have completed in the past, and some that have fallen apart. It’ll be okay.

Nope! Neither my wallet name nor any of my chosen names.

2. When was the last time you cried?

...yesterday, I think? It has been Trying Times at Chez Nochi

3. Do you have kids?

I have had a kid and am raising a kid. They are not the same kid.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Excessively.

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

I did karate as a kid? Never went very far with it, mostly bc that's when my knee started doing cartwheels all on its own.

6. What's the first thing you notice about other people?

Usually just their tone. I have a tendency to read rudeness where there isn't any, it's honestly an issue.

7. Eye color?

Grey/green.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

I cannot do scary movies bc of the Brain Gremlins, I much prefer a happy ending. Or at least bittersweet.

9. Any special talents?

I guess my writing? I've been doing that for a long, long time tho, it probably counts more as a honed skill at this point.

10. Where were you born?

Just outside Atlanta, Georgia.

11. What are your hobbies?

Writing, art, graphics, video games.

12. Do you have any pets?

Six cats: Piper, Callie, Hancock, Gigi, Rinzler, TC. Piper's the only one who's technically "mine", the others belong to the rest of the household. (TC and Callie are kind of Everybody's Cats by virtue of only barely tolerating any of us.)

5'0".

14. Fave subject in school?

Literally any of my literature classes. I had a fondness for my Honors and AP history classes as well, but I lost those when we moved.

15. Dream job?

I'd honestly love to be able to write for a living.

Hello, I was wondering if you have any tips for taking criticism at work when you have depression/anxiety. I got chewed out publicly at my new job. I can be overly sensitive, but I know when I'm being talked down to (another co-worker came up to me later asking if I was alright and said this was normal for that manager.) I know I'm piling my own expectations on top of their ridgid standards, but I'm just not okay right now. I'm so stressed out and I can't afford to lose this job. I feel trapped.

When someone is condescending in public like that, it’s never about *you* or your worth as a person. When someone (especially a manager) is like that, it’s because they feel out of control in their own lives, and they are trying to put their own insecurities and fears into you.

You don’t have to carry their fear, their anxiety, or whatever it is that makes them feel like being cruel and condescending will help them feel better about themselves.

This manager probably has something profoundly sad or disappointing in their life, and they are taking that sadness and impotence out on you, because they happen to be in a job where they can express their own self-loathing and project it onto someone who doesn’t deserve it, but is required by your employment status and situation to just take it.

I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to take it. If you made a mistake, all you have to do is **very gently** own your participation in the mistake, know what you’ll do in the future so it doesn’t happen again, and get on with your life. You don’t have to carry this manager’s negative emotions at all, because their personal feelings and fears are not your responsibility.

I’m so sorry you were treated this way (it’s happened to me on set in my career and it’s awful), and I hope that these words are helpful.

Tumblr is a functional website etc etc

I think I have actually read something in a dream before. I can’t currently remember what but I remember it has been just a word or two, like titles or road signs, that kind of stuff. I know people say you can’t read in dreams but my theory is that my visual memory is just conjuring up symbols or “pictures” of words that I can “read”. I can recognize the form of a word and then “read” its meaning. That’s what I think at least. Long passages of text are just illegible scribbles to me in a dream.
