I desperately need Asagiri to write a novel about Hunting Dogs. Except there's no backstories there's no angst it's just the same vibe as the day before Atsushi's entrance exam novel. It's 150 pages worth of Jouno trying to get Fukuchi to sign a restrictive order to ban Tetchou from cooking, it's Teruko on Tachihara's shoulders inviting Suegiku to a 2v2 duel, it's just them trying to get their paperwork done and failing miserably.

Hi do you still have some headcanons for your bsd tgcf au you sparked some fireworks in my mind and now I need more if you have some :)
hi!! i'm flattered that you're interested in my au, but unfortunately, i never ended up making more beyond that original post lol. it gained really slow traction at first so i didn't think anyone cared
however, if you're interested, i DO have some notes on an old bsd/tgcf crossover. i won't be able to write it anymore though bc my writing process has changed a LOT since then
• 2 ½ centuries after the canon events of tgcf
• (random note: pei xiu and shi qingxuan have re-ascended)
• mount tong'lu opens up again
• a bunch of martial gods and junior officials are sent to cut off the paths, but a powerful savage-level ghost called "rashoumon" kills them off
• rashoumon has the ability to turn the fabric of his clothing into whatever he wants
• the heavenly officials have a meeting in the public communication array and decide to send martial gods to kill off any ghosts who have a shot at becoming supremes again
• hua cheng, xie lian, pei ming, lang qianqiu, mu qing, and feng xin are sent again
• guzi also goes
• shi qingxuan insists on going too because she believed there's a chance that he xuan will be there
• a god known as dazai osamu, who ascended a century ago and is able to nullify spiritual energy with a single touch, also goes because, based on the description of rashoumon's abilities, he believes he knows him
• he brings along nakajima atsushi, a god who can transform into a tiger and used to be his deputy god
• obviously, one of their big targets is rashoumon
• but there's also he xuan who might seek going through the kiln to become even more powerful
• he and shi qingxuan meet again and their relationship is beyond repair
• however, he xuan confesses to regretting exacting revenge on shi wudu and that he genuinely cared for shi qingxuan despite everything
• they seperate again, but not before he xuan properly apologizes
• there's also another savage-level ghost called "arahabaki" that can crush people into the ground and move things with his mind
• about a century ago, a man with the same powers infiltrated ghost city with a few subordinates and burned down the qiandeng temple
• (still refering to what happened a century ago) hua cheng and xie lian hunted him down to a cultivation sect and found the man insanely drunk on wine
• they fought, and despite the fact that the man was a mortal at the time, his martial arts abilities and spiritual abilities forced the both of them to fight to their limits
• there was a point where the both of them were being crushed into the ground and hua cheng took the opportunity to get e'ming to stab him in the back
• apparently, that wasn't even the full extent of the man's power
• he muttered, "dammit. you better come back for me, you bastard. o grantors of dark disgrace, you need not wake me again."
• the humanity in his eyes disappeared and he became a terrifying being, sending blasts of pressure at them
• hua cheng and xie lian barely escaped with their lives
• (present day again) they find arahabaki and it turns out, his name was nakahara chuuya
• he fights with hua cheng and xie lian again until dazai nullifies his ability and knocks him out gently when things become too intense
• hua cheng: "what was that for?"
• dazai: "as much as i respect you and your power, you can only dream of ever reaching the same level as chuuya."
• that night at the camp the gods have set up, hua cheng, xie lian, and dazai explain how they each know chuuya
• dazai explains how they were partners in a cultivation group called the "port sect" led by a man named mori ougai
• mori, along with a man named fukuzawa yukuchi, was an apprentice of a god named natsume souseki who discovered that every soul was unique, and if one went under certain training, they could unlock an ability unique only to them
• mori and fukuzawa discovered their own abilities and went on to teach other cultivators to help unlock their abilities
annnd that's all i got 😭😭 sorry, i wish i had more. if anyone wants to pick up after me, i'd be fine with that as long as i'm given credit and a link to the fic

What if BSD season 4 is going to be monochrome till the moment Fukuzawa gifts Ranpo his glasses. And then it's suddenly full of color. What if

Tanizaki's and Kunikida's friendship has got to be the most underrated dynamic so far. Literally has never seen anyone mention them despite the two definitely being close? We see them seemingly seamlessly work together both in Dead Apple (if I remember correctly) and DOA arc as well as Atsushi's entrance exam, both in anime and the novel. Like Tanizaki is Doppo's go-to when he needs extra hands for a plan or a scheme against Dazai and not only and you're telling me no one discusses that or thinks about it at all? Absolutely foul if you ask me
Personally would love to think that since Tanizaki is one of the younger ADA members Kunikida was the one to teach him how to hold a gun (tho I would Not be surprised if he already knew) or maybe even tutored him and Naomi a bit in terms of math.

Dazai "I am not human for I am a demon and can never be even remotely as good or humane as they are" Osamu and Fyodor "I am incredibly human because things that make us human are the terrible things humans try to get rid of and not the idealistic concept that society created" Dostoyevsky. By the way.

I really like the thought that Dazai's plans actually almost never work. Like yeah he does the outline and the direction of the strategy & stuff, but he himself openly admitts it's impossible to calculate everything at once, especially with alive people. The only reason his plans end up working out is because in ADA there's Ranpo to fix and readjust those on the go, and in Port Mafia times it was Chuuya who did that.

Have we seriously considered the possibility that Mori will ask for Kunikida instead of Dazai/Yosano/anyone else?
He's the closest we have to the president if Fukuzawa's really gone and it would be an amazing move to make because frankly. No one else in the ADA is fit to be the president.

The regular "Naomi is an illusion created by Junichiro" BSD AU with a twist: Tanizaki is FtM and Naomi is what he looked like when he was younger, so when transitioning he created Naomi to pretend it's still him and he is just a distant brother of Naomi's no one heard of

"They're powerful because they're a skill user!"
Something something Kunikida is an amazing ADA unit who only uses his ability only essentially as an equipment support, everything else he learned himself.
Tachihara went years on end without using his ability Once in mafia not to give himself away and got high in ranks just with his regular skills.
Fukazawa might not even have an ability to begin with and he is still a match for so many skill users, if not flat out better from the start.
Ranpo is a human.
Kyoka didn't have control on her ability at first and still is a professional assassin.
don't really know how to sum up the conclusion, but I think BSD does incredible job showing that humans don't really need superpowers to match skill users or just be incredible and very capable people.

Forever saddened the entire part of Fukuzawa rating and observing Oda at the start got cut.
One of my favourite parts about the Untold Origins was that from the start Fukuzawa is described as observant and smart, and he really is, but no matter how hard he works he looses to Ranpo in deduction instantly. The contrast is so good I hope it'll be shown better in the next episodes

Listen listen listen. Dazai, who avoids Mori's office like plague and Chuuya, who purposefully chooses to go to his infirmary instead of any other hospital Port Mafia has to offer because he is genuinely morbidly curious about Mori's past as a doctor and his medical knowledge.
He's terrible at learning it and thinks amythin math or physics-leaning is so much easier, but he asks again and again and Mori surprisingly answers again and again, too, with patience Chuuya has never seen him have towards anything else. As if Mori ever so slightly misses his past work as a doctor because I refuse to think that he spent so many years learning and working in medical field for him not to retain at least some interest in it.
