i can fully understand the gripes with certain misogynistic tropes/writing issues that are present in the execution of some of cersei’s writing, but i will never understand the “she should have a redemption arc” or “she should be more likeable/less morally dark” perspective. that is not what her character is or has to be to make it great. wanting more female anti-heroes or “redemption arcs” with moral greyness and complexity of the level that asoiaf gives to primarily male characters is entirely understandable, but do some of you people even like cersei as a character, like at its core? like this is not about criticising the execution of certain things when it comes to this character, this is about taking issue with her as a villain fundamentally, which i just do not agree with at all

i started reading this fucking out of character thick of it fanfic like a week ago bc even tho i could tell from first glance it was going to be ooc i was just curious and it sounded kind of funny slash tragic. (how are you tagging grief child death domestic violence attempted suicide on a ttoi fic hello?) and i dooo like complaining And for the most part if it weren't supposed to be about those guys it would just be pretty good so im not Regretting it? but i didn't realise how many stories were in the series and im probably 150k words in. and not much more than halfway through

I don't get how ppl can love leverage (OG) but hate Nate. Fundamentally it was *his* story, it was about anger and the complexity of a brilliant but terrible man who was a mishmash of gray morality and doing good things for the wrong reasons and healing back little bits and pieces of his soul while at the same time breaking and sliding deeper into this game he's playing and becoming addicted to his role as avenging angel. He was never meant to be a good person, and if you think he was, you weren't paying attention. But leverage as a team, the individuals, and by extension the whole show, are all a reflection of him, his experience, his crimes for the betterment of good, honest people. He is the foundation of tboh the show's themes and narrative, I feel like you can't love those without appreciating him.

There’s a lot of really great stuff in The Owl House, but if I’m being honest, what stuck out to me the most was Eda’s curse - specifically, the way it was portrayed in Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances
As someone with chronic pain, who knows there’s no “magic cure”, who knows it’s only going to get worse as I get older, who knows all I can do is manage the pain and accept that my disability is part of who I am, I really really appreciated the not-so-subtle parallels being drawn there

now that im taking an american history class i can finally pinpoint exactly why the "hu//ma/ns a/re sp/ace or/cs" or "s/pac/e aus//trali/a" thing reminded me so much of american exceptionalism (despite the name lol) so much of it was like "hurr durr humans are so cool and badass because unlike aliens we grew up w/ the frontier harsh conditions on earth and strange human culture" like honestly idk what i expected when like a good 90% of humans depicted were like american or just from western countries . also the phrase "space: the final frontier" makes sense now . didnt know what the fuck frontier meant until now
