Anyways, This is Writer Waddle Dee (Wridee, as I like to call them)!! They prefer They/Them, but go by any pronouns! I modeled them a lot after me because they were originally a joke self insert oc I made months ago, so it'll be really hard for me to describe them lol

Backstory?:

●They're a self-publishing, kinda small author that writes about Kirby's journeys!

●Just a simple civilian, y'know, nothing dramatic!

Personality:

●They're a bit sarcastic and loves to make self depricating jokes?

●They're reserved, but have a few close friends and those she'd call acquaintances.

●She's acts very competitive, but it's really all-bark-no-bite.

●He follows a lot of the rules and tries to inforce them best they can.

Misc. Notes:

●Loves sweets, but especially likes donuts

●Finds it difficult to drink strong, caffeinated drinks

●Loves rain and mostly likes to write when it's storming outside because they find it inspirational

●They really don't like to write at a desk, even if it's available. They actually like to write on their bed

A Kirby Christmas Special!

"Word around Castle Dedede is that the king and a select few Waddle Dees go missing every Christmas Eve," Bandana Waddle Dee says, putting on an oven mit.

"Really?" Kirby asks his friend, tilting his head, the jingle bells on his antlered headband ringing.

"That's what I've heard," Bandana Dee replies, taking a fresh batch of cookies out of the oven.

Kirby sits on the counter and ponders this strange phenomenon. Then, his mind begins to wander and he wonders what his otherworldly friends like to do for Christmas every year. Kirby hops off the counter and begins to walk out of the kitchen.

"Make sure to be back before dinner so we can frost the cookies!" Bandana Dee shouts, placing a new batch of cookies in the oven.

First stop is technically not "otherworldly" as it is also on planet popstar, but Kirby deemed it different enough to ask. After a straining climb, Kirby makes his way around the city in Floralia, admiring the baked goods in various bakery windows. Soon, he makes his way to the grand castle. After making small talk with a few guards, Kirby is escorted to the royal throne room where he meets his friend, the relatively recently appointed king, Taranza.

"Hai!" Kirby says to Taranza with a smile.

"Hello, Kirby!" Taranza replies.

"Merry Christmas," Taranza's secretary, Spinndle adds from behind her boss.

Kirby takes out a pen and notepad, "What's a unique Christmas tradition you have here in Floralia?"

"Why don't we show you?" Taranza replies.

Taranza and Spinndle lead Kirby to a park in the city with a large Christmas tree, various flowers and lights decorate it. In the middle; surrounded by a small white fence and neatly wrapped gifts.

"This is our community tree," Spinndle says, "People across the community donate gifts for the needy."

"Anyone who didn't or couldn't get a gift this year can grab one," Taranza adds, placing a few more gifts down, "Most of the gifts are donated by my staff and I."

Kirby nods and scribbles in his notepad, "Thanks! I gotta go now. Merry Christmas!"

Taranza and Spinndle wave as Kirby leaves.

His next stop was to hitch a ride with his friend Magolor, who had his Starcutter parked nearby.

"Hey, Kirby! What's up?" Magolor asked from atop the ship.

"Hey, Lorie," Kirby replies, "Can you take me to a couple places? I'm doing important Christmas stuff!"

"Sure thing! Consider it a second Christmas gift," Magolor remarks with a wink.

And off the two go, first stop: Ripplestar!

"Hey, Mags?" Kirby asks, doodling in his notepad.

"Yeah, Kirb?"

"What do you guys do on Halcandra for Christmas?"

Magolor thinks for a moment, "I don't remember much, but I do remember making a kind of fruitcake made of fruit from Halcandra."

"Cool beans!" Kirby says, and writes it down.

Soon, they arrive at Ripplestar where they greeted by Kirby's friend Ribbon.

"Seasons greetings, Kirby! How nice of you to stop by!" Ribbon says with a smile.

"Hey, Ribbon! Merry Christmas," Kirby says, stepping out of the Lor, "What's something fairies like to do for Christmas?"

"I'll show you!" Ribbon gestures for Kirby to follow her.

They make their way to the castle and through the bustling halls to a grand living room with a fireplace.

"This is our fireplace," Ribbon says, "For Christmas, we burn exclusively cherry wood! The tradition goes as far back as when the first queen founded Ripplestar!"

"Intra-sting," Kirby mumbles as he writes in his notepad, "I gotta go now, Merry Christmas!"

"Merry Christmas!" Ribbon shouts as Kirby runs off.

"Alright, Magolor! Next stop: Kandyland!" Kirby exclaims, running into the Starcutter.

"Aye aye!" Magolor says, setting the Lor to go to Kandyland.

Within minutes, they arrived in the courtyard of Kandy Castle. The guards in the front rush over to examine the ship including two familiar faces. Sir Chip and Dame Sundaie. Sir Chip dissuade the other guards from attacking the Starcutter and greets Kirby and Magolor.

"Merry Christmas!" Kirby chimed, hopping out of the Lor.

"Salutations, Kirby," Chip greets, "What brings you to Kandyland this Christmas?"

"I'm asking all my friends what they do for Christmas!"

"Ooo!" Sundaie exclaims, "C'mon! We'll show you!"

Kirby and Magolor are lead to the kitchen where The Confection King and his daughter Princess Sugaree are.

"Why, Hello there," The king says with a smile, "Merry Christmas!"

"We were just about to hand out gifts to children around the valley!" Sugaree remarks, "Care to join us?"

"Correction, dear daughter, YOU were going to hand out gifts. I have business to attend to."

"Yes, yes. I know, father," Sugaree leans down to Kirby's level, "Ignore my father. He's a bit boring."

Kirby chuckles and the three of them go out to hand out gifts, Sir Chip following close behind.

Once they return, they are greeted by Mon Roll and Lady Sugarose.

"Hey, Kirby," Mon Roll chimes, "Wanna get snacks to leave out for Santa with me?"

Kirby nods enthusiastically and Follows Mon Roll, Chip, and Kandi to the kitchen.

"What do you guys usually leave out for Santa in Dream Land?" Mon Roll asks, grabbing a plate from the cabinet.

"Cookies and milk," Kirby replies, "What do you guys do here?"

"Gumdrops and eggnog!" Mon Roll beams, "Or other things. Depends on the region."

"We leave out eggnog here in Vanilla Valley," Kandi adds, "Lemonade in Candyfloss Forest, milkshakes near the mountains, the list goes on."

Kirby nods and writes it down. After a few minutes of chit-chat, Kirby had to leave.

Back At Castle Dedede, Bandee was taking the last batch of cookies out of the oven when Kirby ran in. Kirby decided to spend the night at the castle.

Later, in the middle of the night Kirby awoke to sounds of jingle bells and a jolly, strangely southern, laugh. He runs to the stairs and peers at the man dressed in red from around the corner.

"That'll do it," the man said, the voice was very familiar to Kirby.

"Dedede?! You're Santa?!" Kirby exclaimed, hopping down the stairs.

"Kirby?!" Dedede exclaimed, "Why are you awake?!"

"Oh my Nova! You ARE Santa!"

"Hold on-"

"I knew it!" Kirby danced around happily.

"Uhh…" Dedede looked around and noticed the plate of cookies on the table, "I'll give ya these if ya don't tell nobody!"

Kirby looked at the cookies, "Sure!"

And so, Kirby got to eat cookies at 2am.

I love all my goobers to pieces! And Orpheus, oh Orpheus has taken over my life. I no longer have control over my story because of him. It's his story now, and I'm the lowly servant who's constantly subjected to his demands for me to rewrite things 😭 I've rewritten his intro episode at least 5 times, and now he's injected himself into DotS:MMM. Orpheus PLEASE I NEED A BREAK— I WAS JUST FINISHING PART 6 IN SCRIPT FORMAT YOU JERK

Thia man's made me rewrite his ENTIRE BACKSTORY THREE TIMES! And now I have to rewrite his WHOLE NOVEL SERIES. YES THE WHOLE NOVEL DEDICATED TO JUST HIM. I have to rewrite it from THE GROUND UP. JUST AS I FINISHED CHAPTER 2.

CHAPTER 2 HAS BEEN COMPLETELY SLAMMED OUT OF CANON. I spent 4 months writing it and he just went "mmmm nah, not canon". 20+ pages. TWENTY. PLUS. PAGES. Right in the trash. Gone. Reduced to atoms. I love Orpheus. But he likes to make me work. I'm not allowed to relax 😭 and what's worse is that's also in character for him 😭😭😭😭 I can't control this man, he controls MEEEE *SOB*

Original character and original content rambling below the cut here, if anyone is interested in my OG projects:

In terms of active proper OCs, my main cast has been demoted to just being doodle buddies and officially retired from being a series. All my OCs are sorta on standby until I have some story ideas for them! My mains under World Jumpers are these goobers:

Oswald, Tempest, Blaize, Asoné, Raymond, and Xylea! Ozzy and Tempest are the protagonists with the rest being secondary!

I've wrestled with their story for so long that I decided to throw in the towel and admit defeat early this year. It's been 14 long years with these guys collectively, and no actual plot or meaning to their story? Yeah no time to shelve it for good. I have a very fleshed out world for them, but it's really detailed to the point where it's kinda convoluted, but it's been set in stone for so long that I can't undo it without shattering everything

So I figured it'd just be better to start fresh with something else later. I love WJ, but after the history I've had with WJ, it's better that I leave it to rest. The world and story was too big for just me, and I tried for years to find a partner as passionate about the world as I was, but none were. I lost my passion after getting burned out due to stress writing and drawing everything. I love WJ, love my characters and world, but it's a story that never wanted to be told

Since then I've sort of been at a loss on what to do next in terms of original projects. I've got loads of WIP ideas and concepts from over the years, but none have really jumped up at me like DotS has for years 😭

I have a lot of OCs, like A LOT. I had a list and there's like easily 100+ named characters in WJ's universe alone

The others are much smaller! These are all my WIP OG stories:

Project: "Listen" | Animated anthro film inspired by "Cats Don't Dance", focuses on Kaeden who is a mute genet whose dream is to be an actor, despite having a job as a director easily lined up for him. Faces a bit of adversity in a market that hankers for a voice; he becomes friends with a frustrated actress who's been locked into the same kind of roles for years, and wishes to do more, who becomes a voice for Kaeden when he needs it most (I aspire to have an actual deaf/mute person be Kaeden's voice through sign language, since animators will nees references for his dialogue; they'll be put in the credits as his voice because they are! LOVE!)

Project: "Dragon Rider" | Sort of a chosen-one story with a twist, focuses on the struggle between duty and desire. Female protagonist is the prophesized reincarnation of a figure that's meant to bring her tribe into a new golden age, but when she bonds with an unexpected and common kind of dragon (and not the big gaudy one they expected), she faces a dilemma: follow the wishes of her people or her own heart?

Project: "Willemina" | Sci-fi detective story that was originally a spinoff of WJ, so it's set in the same universe. Main protag is non-binary hoomin (human-like species of mine), Willemina, a former space ranger gone private detective investigating the mysterious murder of a local guardian. Will befriends the late guardian's companion, a sweet little Weapon Spirit, and sets out to solve the mystery together (and discovering said weapon spirit's very useful defensive abilities)

Most everyone from each respective story has concept art or complete designs!

Silly headcanon/AU traits writing time because I have writers block. Main four edition!

Kirby

He has a very sunshine-like personality. (In my AU, he technically is an adult, but I say that 20 is still really young for the silly orb species?) Despite the fact he may seem very unpredictable and manic, he can actually be quite smart! He is usually the most optimistic of of all of the four, and prefers to keep any possible faith he can in a plan. He is actually quite skilled at baking, making excellent lemon poppyseed muffins and strawberry shortcake! Although he loves baking, he also enjoys frolicking in the forest with Bandana Dee. He and Bandana actually have a collection of dried and preserved leaves and flowers, and they love to analyse the little bits of the plants. He often forgets that sometimes he should ask for help, instead of just purely acting to help others. Even though they are not related, he often considers Meta Knight to be the closest thing he has to a brother. This little pink orb is a huge fan of hugs and adventures! (In short: his MBTI type in my AU is apparently ENFP).

Bandana Dee

He is very shy, but secretly has a brave heart. Ever since he was a young waddle dee, he always had a love for plants and nature. Besides being a loyal servant to King Dedede, he owns an apple orchard, where he will sell the apples he grows and the foods he has made out of them. (Just like Kirby, he is around 20.) As a child, he was separated from his family by a large, destructive hurricane, where he is then taken in my the royal family. Dedede has always been his role model and father figure, even in tough times. To an extent, he is the "therapist friend", always kind and docile to his beloved friends. He deeply struggles with anxiety and paranoia, usually being the pessimist of the group. He always first sees the faults in a plan, until someone can convince him, of course. He rather enjoys writing and editing paperwork and such. (In short: his MBTI type in my AU is seemingly INFJ).

Meta Knight

Being the quiet mastermind, he seems to have a solution for every possible scenario. On the outside, he appears clinical and no-nonsense, but he truly is passionate for what he believes in. Usually he is seen working or training, but occasionally takes time to read or stargaze. For as long as he could remember, he always adored the stars and astronomy, slowly mapping the sky's plethora of lights and planets. (Contrary to Dedede's beliefs, Meta Knight is only 28.) Some seem to think he is quite self centered, however, this is a facade. Often, he feels incapable of acting on his own desires or interest, seeming as if he has no motivation to act if the only person it will pay off is himself. He thinks predominantly in statistics and numbers, usually being the risk-calculating realist of the group. He has a noticeable dislike for speaking, remaining silent whenever he can. He swore to protect Kirby as if he were his younger brother. (In short, his MBTI type in my AU seems to be INTJ).

King Dedede

The now gentle, once tyrannical king, Dedede is always a warm presence. Although he attempts to act stupid, he is actually highly intelligent! Even though he is the king, he has a generally informal and familiar way of addressing those he cares about. Perhaps he isn't as chaotic as Kirby, but he always brings energy to the table. A large part of his personality is that he can put up a good debate, but he can also be a comforting person. He chooses to not take his life too seriously, whilst also taking care of his beloved kingdom. At times, he is very optimistic and has the loudest opinion out of all of the group. He has a notably strange fondness for interior design. Dedede would do anything for his waddle dees, but he shows an even greater deal of compassion for Bandana. (In short: his MBTI type according to my AU would actually be ENTP, but that's hard to get across).

Down The Cabbit Hole: The Weird World of Klonoa Literature - An Archive (Part 2)

As I slowly work my way towards Klonoa media completionism (pending), I find myself drawn to Dream Crusaders, a fan-made continuation to the cancelled Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol webcomic, written and illustrated by Esteban Girolami.

As you know, my opinions about that officially licensed material are overwhelmingly negative, nevertheless I am curious as to what this adventure may yield under a new direction and vision - which is automatically better than having neither direction nor vision at all.

To be perfectly blunt, there is absolutely no chance of redemption for that comic. It was a doomed enterprise the second Huepow showed up out of nowhere. Its mere existence is offensive. That said, I'm glad this "sequel" starts off with these two. I'm keenly aware of the hypocrisy.

Nightmare Klonoa's face game appears to be in top shape, which is swell since the original story did not give me any reason whatsoever to care about this doofus. I only now notice the cute detail of the Pac-Man's ghost hat.

Actually using loosely established lore from Lunatea's Veil to inform your narrative? Alright, Dream Crusaders, you have my attention.

Ah, I see. You are using your story as a thinly-veiled excuse to bring back iconic series antagonists for fan-service purposes. I can respect that. At least, you are providing something that your audience might want to see.

I get the feeling this author does not particularly care about Guntz, which the only acceptable behaviour when it comes to Guntz.

As of this date, that was the last currently available page for Dream Crusaders. I am enjoying this fan-interpretation of a failed project quite a bit. It might be just a load of fan-service and entirely self-indulgent but it's the passionate, dedicated sort of fan-service driven fanfiction.

It is everything Noctis Sol was not: the exact opposite of a soulless, dull, visionless drivel, one that actually takes the time and care to properly write sufficiently-defined characters and consistent story beats. I will continue to read it in the future.

Conclusively, it's a fun read and the artwork is high quality, more professionally sequenced and framed than the *official* webcomic series. Unfortunately, you would have to go through that abomination in order to get to the good part.

With this dream firmly behind us, like a distant memory of childhood, it is time to burrow ourselves down, deeper and deeper, into the Cabbit Hole in order to unearth older, much more obscure materials. Next time, we enter the positively drizzling underworld of Klonoa's "scanlations" and any remaining miscellanea, thus finally bringing my archive up to speed. Stay drowsy, fellow Phantomilians.

•Little cape is actually wings- specifically the arctic woolly bear moth's wings

•Uses a bow that can transform into sword (Whole reason why I made her lol)

•A lot like Kirby, I'd say, might change in the future though

Hello! I'm Stopwatch! I'm (currently) new around these parts, and I'm an artist that enjoys making designs, and also anything Kirby!

I'm around here mostly to just share art, get to know a few people, and just hang around my corner of the internet. Come along if you're especially interested in waddle dees, Headcanons, and Storytelling!

I also like kirby OCs! And I love to see the little guys people make and bully be incredibly kind to! Fanfic writers are also (usually) cool, and y'alls stuff is usually interesting to read. Not going to lie, I just like anything that's creative, that's why I'm here, really. I'll probably interact with your stuff if I like it!

Speaking of interacting, go ahead and use that askbox! I love to answer questions others have about my stuff, or theories, or discussions, or anything else Kirby related! 13- what's a common writing tip you always follow?

i don't have a beta reader, so i usually rely on my perfectionism to make sure my fics are edited as well as they can be. i like to follow my essay-writing plan of write as much as possible in the outline, chisel it down and work out the details in my draft, then let it sit for a few days between each editing session. sometimes i get impatient and only wait 2/3 days, sometimes i completely forget and i leave it for over a week, but regardless i wait until i can look at it with fresh eyes. it's not the greatest process but it works for writing as a hobby.

45- do you want to break your reader's heart or make them laugh?

is it a cop-out to say both? i haven't published too much in the way of emotional scenes, but if i do commit to my pre-dreamland knights series, there's plenty of gsa-related angst to look forward to. however i also love writing jokes. i know when to keep things serious but sometimes i'm working with characters like falspar, who still jokes about how great he is even when he's been poisoned. i consider myself a pretty witty person irl so i like to keep scenes moving with as many silly remarks as i can make.

55- of the characters you write for, which is your favorite?

meta knight is an obvious choice, i've put a lot of time into developing his character and how to work with his personality in RBAY (since it's inconsistent to say the least). sword and blade required a lot of extra work because they're basically the same character in the show--you could replace them with sailor waddle dee and absolutely nothing would change. creating their characters and background has also been very fun.

but actually i think my favorites are probably dragato and falspar. even if everything about them is just shit i completely made up, creating their dynamic and pushing their characters the way i have is a lot of fun. how do these contrasting characters get along? how do they support each other, why do they fight, how did they end up where they are? i've been doing a lot of backstory exploration for the gsa lately, someday i'll find a way to share it. these two are probably my favorite to work with, though. they bounce off each other really well and i like dealing with their difficult personalities.

60- have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic?

i'm not super involved in the community especially on ao3, so you and turtle are kinda the only writers i know of, so yes! your work has inspired me in different ways and it's always fun to see your reactions. maybe someday i'll write something with characters people actually care about haha

74- you've posted a fic anonymously. how would someone be able to guess that you'd written it?

"looks to" instead of "looks at." "jumps" for any kind of surprise/flinch. large chunks of dialogue without much narration. a 'queer-platonic relationships' tag is perhaps the easiest giveaway i could possibly have. i'm sure there's other weird writing things i do but haven't noticed. but if i were posting something anonymously for whatever reason i can pretty much guarantee it'd be qpr-related just look at me

I think slavery in fiction is okay if it’s handled properly. The issue is too many American authors just take the trans-Atlantic slave trade and modify it for their books, without considering how much of a heated topic that is. Slavery has been around in all cultures and can be adapted for fiction without using the most political lot charged version of it. And definitely don’t portray a single race being superior to another.

I've never said people can't have "dark" topics in their books and I agree many people, including non whites Americans, write them very poorly. I don't think any topic is off the tablet honestly. Literally every single media with (human intelligent) fantasy races writes each race with like they're animals that can talk. Or worse, they're written as stand ins for real races and the main default humans are white people

I would think it's great that a children's book wrote the main characters as not perfect and holy, and they learn as the story goes on. but to my understanding the wizards are still racist and decapitate their slaves. There isn't nuance, jkr is just genuinely a bad writer. It just kinda baffles me people think I said you can't have slaves at all when I said why are they so badly written. It's really hard to root for them when they're clearly not good people

I never said main characters have to be perfect and moraly correct but for Gods sake man this is about a children's book series where they are racist and decapitate their slaves. Idk man. Why is it so controversial to say owning slaves is bad
