Hello again fellow criticals. I know a lot of us are worried that Sera's going to be an evil angel (which is now expected of because of Viv's writing), but I think she might be taken in a different direction.

Especially because of this screenshot:

At first glance, she looks like she's grinning at the sight of fire and suffering, but then I took a bit of a closer look. I made an edit to show what I mean:

The eyebrows. If she was really enjoying what she was seeing, I would think that her eyebrows would've been drawn differently. But because of the way her eyebrows are drawn (and with the wrinkles underneath her eyes), I think she's more horrified/anxious about what she's seeing.

I'm not holding out much hope for Hazbin Hotel, especially since if you've seen the trading cards you already know what's bound to happen. (Like seriously, how are you going to spoil what's gonna happen to the Hotel and what the people of Heaven are called?! She should've released the cards AFTER the show dropped.) But I'm hoping Sera will somewhat exceed my expectations.

But once again, I'm just waiting for the ball to drop.

My cousin (who is unfortunately a Swiftie) talks about how people hate Taylor because "they hate seeing a successful woman."

No, the reason why I hate her is because:

1. I'm getting sick of hearing her songs everywhere. It doesn't help that my cousin put on the Eras Tour on her TV.

2. Her usage of her private jet. Like girl, use a damn car, you'd be less wasteful that way.

3. The whole dating a racist thing (like seriously...)

4. Joe Alwyn. Like, she seriously left him because of his mental issues even though he was there for her mental issues??? Come on, I barely even know about that guy and even I think that's messed up.

and 5. Her album, "The Tortured Poets Department". More like the "Dear God it's an actual form of torture department". I read the lyrics, and holy shit it's bad. You'd think I'm kidding, but I'm not:

This is from "So Long, London", and this is about Joe Alwyn.

"Died on the altar waiting for proof", huh? You mean the fact that he stayed with you during your darkest days, but you decided to go off and have an affair with someone else for his? Like girl, be fucking for real. And this isn't even the only example of horrendous lyrics. "Tattooed golden retriever"? Really??? "Touch me while your bros play Grand Theft Auto"?? My God, even rappers with more explicit lyrics have a better understanding of songwriting.

Also, there's the whole "mental ward" aesthetic, but that's another story.

I'm hoping this lady disappears from the public scene. Like, I don't want her to die or anything, but I just want her to just...stop. Like, you have enough money, and it feels like you're just writing lyrics for the sake of rhyming them instead of trying to tell a coherent story or something.

You want an actual album that tells a good story? Try "IGOR" or "DAMN". Those are some good choices.

Sorry if this rant comes off as nonsensical, I'm just mad.

I remember reading in a YouTube comment how "of course Alastor doesn't look black" because "he's dead, of course he wouldn't look the same way as he was alive."

It's a plausible explanation that could explain for sinners that look less humanoid, like Angel Dust. I can understand that.

But that wouldn't explain why Alastor, Velvette, Sera, or Emily don't have any ethnic features, because they all look humanoid.

You wouldn't even have to do much to show that they're black, just give them textured hair or facial features that indicate it.

This is unrelated to anything critical, but I really wanna thank the HH and HB critical and redesign tags because it feels like I've gotten better at designing my own characters (at least the ones I'm redesigning rn.) Many of these redesigns have given me a bunch of inspiration, and even though I'm struggling on actually doing any art right now (like, I think I need to learn how to draw again bad), I have ideas floating around in my brain for the possibilities for my characters.

Okay, has anyone else had this idea that the fight scene between Millie and Crimson's henchmen feels....unnatural?

Like, the choreography of the fight is fine, I guess. It's the dialogue itself that bothers me.

In the beginning of the scene, Millie says "If you want my husband, you're gonna have to fucking kill me."

It's the way it's delivered; It just sounds so unnatural to me.

And then the whole fight scene happens (which is another complaint of mine: how come she can rip the bones out of the bodies of these shark mafia guys, but yet got knocked out by a human hitting a bottle to her head in S1E1? It's like she either the best fighter in the world or she can get knocked out easily).

And then Crimson yells out "WHAT THE FUCK?! She's a dame! She's a broad! Kill her!"

THIS is a very specific part of the dialogue that bothers me, for two reasons.

Reason 1: It's the fact that Crimson and Moxxie share the same voice actor. They sound so similar, and it doesn't help that they look very similar too. Yes, they're father and son, so they'll have some similarities, but couldn't they have used a different voice actor for Crimson?

Reason 2: It's the swearing. I was already really not into the scene because of Blitzo saying "We're pulling a Shrek." But as soon as Crimson sweared, and in the same sentence said that Millie was a "dame" and a "broad", it just completely took me out.

It just feels so unnatural. Like, I don't know how to describe it, but typically I would think that mafia bosses wouldn't swear because they have to keep up an intimidating image around their henchmen.

I could be seeing a problem, or I just could be reading too much into it.

I wanna know if someone else has a similar feeling to this scene, and this episode in general, because it's been bothering me for a while.

Hey, has anyone noticed how Vivziepop didn't do her usual Hazbin Hotel update that she does at the end of each month?

I could assume it's because of the strikes, but A24 agreed to the conditions SAG set. Also, she had her wrap up party in....March, I think? So basically the season should be airing by now, especially since summer's almost over.

I'm wondering if it's because of her recent Twitter rants. Or just anything with her recent controversies.

I dunno, I wanna know what y'all think, because I have no idea.
