Charlotte is champion and as much as some people don't like her and may be annoyed she easily won the championship belt I think this makes sense.

Ronda wasn't doing shit as champion yes she's strong and all but her mic skills and overall character has been so bad lately the smackdown women's division needed a new champion to help be at par with how 🔥 the raw women's division has been.

WWE probably felt it was best to have someone like Charlotte to quickly take the belt from Ronda bc who else could easily take the belt from Ronda on a non PPV and it doesn't seem weird or random.
