i cannot tell if i relate to regulus or remus more. regulus is that feeling when you are lonely and know that there probably isn’t someone to pull you out, so you have to push yourself out. he is the feeling of the color blue, the cold, familiar and safe sadness. he is the part of me that cries after being yelled at, the perfectionist, the fear of dying alone. he is the frost bitten edges of my brain that tells me that i am fine on my own, like always. regulus is the part of me that keeps me quiet when meeting new people, observing and mapping out their personality to see if they are worthy of my trust and loyalty. but, see, remus is the part of me that allows my passions to burn fiercely. he is the part of me that lets myself get angry when i have been treated unfairly and wrong. remus is the part of me that keeps my heart hot. he re-lights the sparks in me to keep me going when i feel i have lost my love for things i enjoy. he is the part of me that wants to scream at people because of the way they treat their animals. remus keeps me balanced when i feel i have lost complete control of my emotions. if he is mainly controlling my hard, cruder emotions, they are the ones that ground me.

so if i relate to both regulus and remus, it is not a battle. it is a balanced scale.
