Just responding to your wine post!
Generally, if you hate tannin and oak you have to research producers and specific vintages before buying red wine. Key words to look for would be: Half-cluster, used/old oak, little to no skin contact. Beaujolais is usually aged in stainless steel or used/old oak since it meant to be drank soon after bottling (also a bit of bubbly never hurts!). You might have luck in Northern Rhone or Merlot. If you want to try out white wines, I recommend checking out Alsace, Germany, and Austria. They usually like more clean and pure grape expression.
I love that you want to be helpful, and I do see that you're a somm and clearly know what you're talking about, but I really do know my palate pretty well. I don't want to be rude, but this is very.... well it feels like you're mansplaining. I work in the wine industry myself and I feel like me talking about carbonic maceration in the post you're responding to maybe could've been a clue that I'm not exactly a novice wine drinker.
I'm willing to discuss wine, but not if you're going to assume I know nothing. I mean. Really. "If you want to try out white wines" is just a bit much, isn't it?
As far as your suggestions: I'm really, REALLY tannin sensitive. The Es Okay red from Rootdown is legitimately the second red I've ever been able to see myself having more than a few sips of - the first was penfolds rwt bin 798 shiraz. The 2017 vintage, I believe. Even that was a bit much on the tannins for me. Sweet wine is my speciality and I'm okay with it staying that way!

Interrupting my hiatus to say I am alive and well! Currently working on my last statistics assignment and an essay on Le Spleen de Paris. I can’t wait to finish all my uni bits so that I could peacefully fly off to Florence for a few weeks to do my painting with ancient techniques course 🎨🌷

as we enter the start of a semester and the dreaded Hour of Making Friends us upon us... if ur ever at a loss for what to say in one of those weird social situations where you only vaguely-know people, one of my favorite questions to ask is "what is your favorite food crime." a food crime is like the food combination that you love that other people find revolting. press them to take it further than pineapple on pizza, that's rote. food crimes is a good topic that has many benefits as it turns out all people are degenerates and also it will give you some cool ideas to try out later in the privacy of your own degenerate kitchen
the other good thing to ask is "okay but has anyone here ever been someplace haunted" bc it turns out if you ask most people directly they don't believe in ghosts, but many people are like "oh yeah i lived in a haunted house. ghosts aren't real tho"

After reading about your sensitivity to tannins, I’m curious if you are a fan of any orange wines? If so, do you have any that you’ve enjoyed recently? On the flipside, do you enjoy pét nats at all?
They tend to be the wines I enjoy most frequently and consistently, and I’m always eager for recommendations (especially from someone with a knowledgable palette who also has autism-related food sensitivities)!
If this is a “none of the above” scenario, could you share any recent recommendations/faves of wines that you have enjoyed? Thank you in advance! 🧡
I like orange wines, but I really dislike petnats lol 😅 they're just so... sour
For orange wines: a recent favorite is the Pullus pinot grigio! It's made in Starjeska, Slovenia and has this lovely almost salmon/rose gold color. Pear, melon (closer to honeydew than cantaloupe), and a bit floral on the nose. On the palate you get a good dose of minerality from the skin contact, some citrus and bright acidity balanced out by an almost oily energy. The pearl comes through as well in a really nice way! Slovenia has pretty strict guidelines for integrated farming, so the actual growing process is pretty hands off and very environmentally friendly (ZERO irrigation, which as someone from a very dry climate, still throws me off). It's a solid 8.5/10 for me, which is about as high as I ever give a dry wine lol
As for petnats.... I can't say I would drink it again, but the one I've liked most of the few I've tried was the Kobal Bajta rumeni muscat! Very yeasty, it's quite cloudy in the glass and the citrus elements are balanced out quite well with the creamy taste that the wild yeasts lend! Great for people who enjoy petnats, definitely, just not quite in my prefered palate

I just know Crocodile brought on Mihawk because he thought he would be sensible, calm and collected, low maintenance. He thought it was going to be them against the idiocy that is buggy. And it is to a degree.
What he failed to calculate is that Mihawk is just as bad as buggy.
Worse even because at least Buggy can be bullied into doing paperwork. I just know everyday Crocodile is astonished by the absolute commitment Mihawk has to his aesthetic. Walks into his tent just to find that he has somehow converted this circus ass tent into a mid century gothic castle. Somehow carpeted the whole thing end to end is burning more that a 100 candles for “mood lighting”, has a fully open fire pit and a sewing machine in the corner.
Like Crocodiles essentially a mafioso he can appreciate the wanting nice things. Still won’t prepare him for the day Mihawk’s brings him a wine budget, a tailoring budget and an embroidery budget all painstakingly itemized.
Won’t prepare him for having to replace every single wine glass because buggy drank out of one and he can’t break up a set but refuses to use a cup that buggy’s put his mouth on.
He’s starting to think that the real reason the Warlords were disbanded was because they simply could not afford to pay for Mihawk’s upkeep anymore and decided they’d rather pay in cadet lives than see one more wine budget.
He is essentially being held hostage, in his own guild, by the whims of a bored middle aged vampire, and a fucking clown.
