Happy new years… let’s stay hydrated together ✨

#I didn’t end up going to the rave just stayed in with my buddies and had KFC (( Korean fried chicken )) and laughed til we cried so #it was still a wonderful start to the new year 💞🥰💞#but the fwb wanted pics of my potential rave look so I figured eh I brought the stuff anyways #and now I’m imagining locking eyes with a stranger on the warm and writhing dance floor #the beat thumps and shakes and rattles the air in our breath as the spotlights dance in the reflections of our held gaze #he pushes his way through the crowd with a singular stare and a wicked smile on his face #I smile and turn my back on him arching myself so he knows I am giving what he’s looking for #I take careful steps through the revelry toward the edge where the crowd thins out #I prop myself up on an available stool in a lonely corner of the club as he closes the distance between us #“now I wonder why you dragged me all the way here” he utters in a playful growl “trying to get far away from the crowd?”#I smile and I nod. “obviously. can’t really do what I want with you out there”#his eyes perk up and his smile gives away the desire building inside him. “yeah? why don’t you show me then.”#“I thought you’d never ask” I smirk. How do you do your lighting??? It looks so simple, yet it looks so good???? I’m going crazy with lighting LMAO

Movies can be a great way to reference lighting schemes and color palettes from! I'll be using this scene below as an example:

I use either Normal, Screen, Color Dodge or Linear Dodge (Add) layer modes to add lighting. Don't limit yourself to these, experiment to see what works for you :)

Layer 1: Main lighting source.

Layer 2: Bounce light. (Optional - depends on the environment)

Layer 3: Additional glow. Airbrush the light areas to make it more vibrant.

Although I pictured Jude a certain way (physically) while reading the books, it really doesn't make much difference to the romance aspect of the trilogy. They didn't struggle with their feelings because Jude was ugly/plain/gorgeous. They struggled because their stations in the social hierarchy were polar opposites, yet they both resented each other. Cardan was a prince who saw his station as a play. He had no support network, his guardian beat him for fun, his friends were just using his birthright to get away with being turds. When Jude looked at him, she saw a spoiled prince who did whatever pleased him, blessed with being born into it and reminding her she would never be like them. And then Jude, who saw herself as human/weak/lesser than. Who spent 10 years letting insults slide and hiding under tables in hopes of raising enough in the hierarchy to - even if not truly belong there - at least be left the fuck alone. Cardan looked at her and saw the General's favoured daughter, raised as Gentry, never in rags or forgotten if she were to sleep on stables. Jude reminded Cardan what he did not have despite being a prince.

i'm still thinking about wicked's finale. glinda's last spoken dialogue is "i'd like to try to be glinda the good" because that's what elphaba wanted for her, to do everything elphaba couldn't do and make the world a better place. she's carrying out elphaba's wish and in a way honoring her, even when that's not what either of them want, even when the only thing they both want is to be together again.

and elphaba DOES want to be with her again. her final dialogue is literally "i only wish that glinda could know that we're alive." and the last thing she sings is the reprise of for good. even in the last moments of the show she's thinking about glinda. only glinda.

then glinda starts the reprise, and elphaba answers. they think about each other until the end. their very last lines are for each other.
