People are seriously sleeping on the White Numen Tarot, and Numen theory in general.

If you consider yourself to be an animistic witch or tarot reader (or both), this post is for you. The White Numen Tarot by AlbaBG is a tarot deck where the imagery is focused on the animals, not the people, and specifically based on the concept of numen as described by the author of El Animal Divino (1985), a wonderful piece on the philosophy of religion.

In El Animal Divino (The Divine Animal), Gustavo Bueno identifies Numen as the "center of Will and Intelligence", and adds,

"in classical latin sources, [numen] references a center of effective and potent desire. [...] In the classics, many times, instead of will itself, it reflects the corporeal expression of will, specifically the nodding of the head that expresses willingness (numine capitum). It also represents the Affirmation or Willingness of the Gods (numine deorum), or the Gods themselves (simulacra numinum being the Statues of the Gods), or wild genii (silvarum numina fauni)".

The tarot deck reflects this by adding two extra cards on the deck, "White Numen" and "Black Numen". While both signify the presence of numen influencing the situation, which card is pulled indicates the nature of said influence into the situation, whether it is creative or destructive, additive or corrosive, enlightening or obscuring.

If you add into that the imagery of each animal and their meaning, their actions and how that relates back to the concept of numen (in this case, signified by specific animals with specific associations doing specific actions in each card) you can get very deep messages that are surprisingly easy to read. Add in any UPGs that you may have (associations of certain animals to particular Gods or Spirits, or just in regards to omens and signs) and you get even more possible meanings that are, again, deep yet very clear, particularly for more seasoned practitioners.

And I think that's a very useful tool to utilize if you want to take into account not just the human influences over a situation, but also the non-human, the divine, the spirits, and anything and everything numen. You can choose to read the animal meanings metaphorically (if no Numen card shows up in your reading) or literally (as in, an omen, a sign or a divine message, if one of the two, or both, Numen cards show up in your reading). It puts the reading into perspective to include the wider spiritual ecosystem and I just think that's neat.

Honestly, just the fact it introduced me to El Animal Divino is great by itself, because it's a book that has helped to put into words and deepen my understanding of religion in general, but also specifically of animal cults and how they relate to human and non-human spirits. But it doesn't stop there, having the deck allows you to identify and even communicate with said numen and thus it's one of the many ways to apply the theory of the book, into magical practice. It's a tool with a really cool theory behind it that is laid out in the open for anyone who may want to take it and adapt it into their practice.

The only problem? I don't know if the book has an english translation. So far i've only been able to find it in spanish, but hey, it's definitely worth at least an attemp at translation on any of the many translation sites you can find online.

The Hierophant is a card about traditions and institutions, and I have a contentious relationship with it because of its ties to the patriarchy. 😖 The thing about institutions is that they endure because they tend to oppress certain groups of people to survive (women, LGBTQ+, people of colour, etc). So I always suggest the classic raider waite tarot deck especially for beginners. I also like the modern witch tarot deck, ethereal visions tarot deck and tarot of the divine deck because they’re beginner friendly and have incredible artwork that makes intuitive reading easy. White numen deck, luna sol deck, golden art nouveau deck, everyday tarot deck and I think the disney deck are also great for beginners and intermediate learners. It also depends on which decks and artworks draw you in. So you might want to research shops and different decks and see which ones call out to you.

Ny other suggestions are to get oracle decks. Specifically an astrological one and another one of your own choosing. Just so you can get more information on a subject of your choosing.

So a basic kit would consist of 3 decks: a tarot deck, an astrological oracle deck and an oracle deck that draws you in/your preference.

Hello. This one is going to be a bit different. I wanted to test these subjects with a deck of mine and the energy seemed very...fluid. Like the beginning and the end are the same but checkpoints might be different, therefore this reading in particular will have to be written differently. After reading notes will be written: like this, meanwhile the reading at the time will be written normally.

Chapter Four's Subject: Scooter Braun and...Everything?

Who is Scooter?

Someone who lacks balance but seems so motivated and focused that it can seem the opposite. If you look at the seven of cups all the fish are swarming this one cup so this could speak to someone hyperfixating on something new or shiny — or something that they do legitimately take interest in, but once they lose interest then they move onto the next thing. I think ultimately there is an issue with sticking to plans that he’s already placed or communicated to someone. So you could be on step five of this 20 step plan and suddenly he’s doing the same thing with a new interest and you’re left to figure it out, but he also wouldn’t want to let you go either because eventually he’ll come back around to you. I don’t get direct ill intentions (I am actively trying to harm you), it’s more like…childish lmao. It’s like someone who got pets or plants. They get bored of them and expect the life to start taking care of itself but then get upset if it gets taken away from them because like what the heck they still Wanted it hello? Just general imbalance and lack of implementing plans are the key qualities here. Does he lack earth or have stellium in water/fire houses lmao. checked his chart after this; gemini sun & mars, cap moon that is It, cancer venus and retrograded mercury. a shit ton of squares to his jupiter, harsh aspects to neptune And uranus (plus too many to make up for the soft aspects to saturn). his mercury makes no harmonious aspects and then it's retrograded. cannot comment too much but yeah it's making some sense here

How does Hollywood see him?

Very short and sweet lmao. Someone who is the ‘trusted choice’ if choosing to sign with a label (can promise good deals, long history, etcetc). However once you get past that you start to realize there’s a…I get hot and cold/on and off for some reason? There’s a song playing and the lyric I keep picking up is ‘Whether you love me or hate me’ and the rest of the song fades out. So it’s like some days you’re a favorite, some days he’s distracted. It’s like you have to keep paying attention to the fire and keep it fueled when it should be the other way around. The Moon wanted to be the last one pulled and by itself, I feel like this is background industry stuff, but something about him got found out and is not the best — I’m not really being allowed in for what it is but it’s the idea of a mask being uncovered of wolf in sheep’s clothing? I’m just repeating myself at this point. Also some cards fell while moving them back, and two of cups reversed was under the king. So. It’s the same stuff again; a new fixation so his priorities are lying elsewhere, but since this is a common theme it’s a feeling of being tired. If you look at the art within the lovers, the main female is watching it go down. I think there was an attempt at some sort of discussion about concerns or frustrations, but this seven of wands seems to be from his point of view? It’s a bit of both; not backing down and letting him know that they’re upset, but also not backing down to complaints and feeling attacked in a way (because you could say these complaints are coming from ‘beneath’ him I guess). This page…I weirdly feel like it was a choice. She’s smirking and holding an orb. It’s kind of like an ultimatum. Like either you get it or we aren’t doing shit for/with/under you anymore. Lack of motivation/energy but it’s purposeful. Which leads us to Judgement. There’s just a lot of criticism or critique but I’m not sensing any malice? It feels very calm. Honestly this card kind of feels like Scooter walking in with his new project and they’re all the people in the back. Regardless, the overall energy is that greediness and lack of balance again. Long thoughts here; the lovers + 2oC can speak to affairs, and that's what I thought but it got brushed off. A lot of things got brushed off. It felt like someone didn't want me to actually figure stuff out but I was still being allowed in, so I can see something being thrown out to the public that isn't actually the problem. What I think is happening is that an affair was spotted and it dug up a lot. Too much and accidentally dug up something deeper, which is the previous moon issue that I can't get to. So the lovers issue started this, someone thought they could use it as like, ammo? (7oW), but it didn't work. PoW might be someone else plotting therefore the sneaky yet patient energy? Ariana: ...I think she was too busy with other stuff and could not. He was not her main focus LOL. This Tower feels more like ‘I’m already dealing with a lot are you serious’, it’s not like it’s a surprise but it’s more like, it was bound to happen but it’s just inconvenient, as the tower always is. This will highlight some issues within himself for him to see, so there’s a chance he’ll kick his ass into gear to fix them. Some of them. Gold is not a durable metal. But the main purpose of this sword was not to slash and destroy. It was to assist.

Numen wasn't a blacksmith. He'd never learned any skills outside of writing, as he was a monk of Cloud Kingdom. But as he admired the sword, he figured his powers might be useful in the realm of Ninjago. After all, the monks were much more powerful than whatever the broken realm had to offer. Seriously, Ninjago's broken- in half. The Dark Island and Mainland Ninjago weren't always separated. But that's a tale for another time. Right now, he just had to give himself some sort of defense against that insufferable Fenwick and his pet... what was its name again? Nugget? Nympe? Nimbus? Yes, that was it. Fenwick, the master writer's apprentice, and his weird pet Nimbus. And whatever else the Cloud Kingdom could throw at him to try and convince him to return.

Right, the sword. It was infused with some of Numen's own powers; the blade could reflect the future and show you your opponent's next move. It would be quite useful. But not outside of a fight. He needed something farther reaching. He needed to see far into the future, even if those visions were brief and vague. So, he went in search of a vessel.

It was perfect.

Numen grabbed one of the icicles and broke off a chunk.

Two more grew in its place.

What a fascinating crystal.

Who knew the Caves of Despair housed such beautiful wonders?

Too bad he couldn't explore the First Spinjitsu Master's tomb; the trials were created by the original Master Writer, a close friend of the FSM. There was no getting past them unless you were a highly skilled spinjitsu master, which alas, Numen was not. He was just a runaway monk looking to create a futuresight crystal.

As he grasped the chunk of ice-crystal-stuff, he called upon his birthplace. This would take the last of his power, cursing him to the binds of mortality.

But Numen's fucks had ran out a long time ago, not that he had many to give in the first place.

It swirled around in the air. A tingling feeling, making its way up his spine. The sensation made its way down his arm, leaving through his fingertips and entering the now-glowing crystal. Numen's strength was leaving his body, and his legs began to shake. So he let them collapse. When all of his power had been drained, and he was weaker than he'd been his entire life, Numen found it in himself to fall asleep right then and there.

That was too much for the crystal to hold.

It wouldn't return to Numen.

Small bits of energy trickled out of the crystal and were absorbed into the ground. It bloomed and spread like an infectious disease. But that was no disease. For as a select few travelers (and ninja) would soon find out, the ice saw you not as you were, but as you someday would be.

He finally escaped that cave. Turns out, there'd been a cave-in near the old Grundle den. The geothermal vents had erupted due to an outside influence. Caused by some mischievous kid who thought he'd be able to find the FSM's tomb. When Numen went to investigate, there was only a skeleton left. The skeleton wore tattered green clothes, almost like some sort of fucked-up ninja gi. Well, whatever. He'd just have to find another way out.

It's been one hundred and eighty-six days since I left that cave. I can feel my mortality growing, creeping, waiting to strike. But that's all right. I don't fear death. The only reason I'm still alive is to make sure that these artifacts don't fall into the wrong hands.

There's a man standing there. He is young, about thirty years old. His stark-white hair provides a beautiful contrast to his royal blue cloak and pale skin. I can see a beard beginning to grow on his angled face. Despite the cold, he does not shiver. His skin does not flush, and he does not turn his back to the icy wind. Rather, he seems at home. Like a spirit of the blizzard. I know I do not have time left. Sometime today, I will die of old age and extreme temperatures. This man is my only hope.

WOOYOUNG

wooyoung is the king of great ideas for romantic dates, but here he seems to have something more homey to do with his crush in the ideal date, like simply cooking together and spending the night enjoying each other's company. he's the type who offers the complete experience: you go to the market together and pick out the ingredients (after changing your minds 5 times about the main dish and finally deciding to make simple pasta or dumplings) to get in the mood.

he puts on some background music and wear aprons just for the aesthetic while cooking with you, "chef wooyoung and his assistant". he kisses your neck and hugs you from behind while you cut the vegetables he asked you to and when you're all done, the amount of dishes to wash is freaking big but it doesn't really matter.
