I thought Marth stuff was like 2,000 years before awakening. The first exalt stuff was supposed to be 1,000 years before and that was *not* Marth. Also it said the schism changed like, the whole continent so like. Marth game stuff should be pretty out, regardless...

You're right, Marth's stuff was 2,000 years before, and the First Exalt was 1,000 years before. But 2,000 years is still too little time for a forest to become a sand desert: that level of ecological change takes ages in the geologic sense of the word. 2,000 just isn't enough to go from forest to desert -- that's not even enough time necessarily for the evidence of the forests to be completely gone the way it is in Awakening. It can take 20,000 years for a grassland to become a full-on sand desert. That's my primary issue with it: 2,000 years just isn't enough time to account for the ecological changes, so I don't think it's reasonable to say that the skin tones should correlate to what we see in roughly the same areas of Marth's Archaea.

Random observations of the trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee, because I thought they were interesting - Part 6

We're at the finale now, so let's end it with some random trivia! Luigi has three designs as a trophy; his design during the N64 era, his design in Melee (based more on the 64 design), and his Luigi's Mansion design, which may actually be his model from that game. Also Luigi in Luigi's Mansion has shoelaces and I don't think any other game has that.

Bowser's Classic trophy has that anime vein thing.

Peach's Classic trophy has legs that clip through the dress.

Unlike her fellow princess, Peach does not have a third eye.

Pichu's Classic trophy depicts it with pure black eyes while the Smash trophies (at least Red, because Blue has the eyes closed) depict it with black eyes that fades to a blue at the bottom.

Mewtwo's Melee head shape is more "squarish" compared to its Classic trophy. Colorization is also slightly different, using a darker gray than white.

I believe this is the only game where stages have trophies, though may be wrong on that. I'm also not counting the Great Fox, since that's more of an object than a location.

Unlike later games, Pikachu is not the first trophy for Pokémon series; that goes to Bulbasaur, due to Melee listing the Pokémon in Pokédex order, the former being #25 and the latter being #1.

Mario is the first trophy in the Normal and Game organization categories, but not the A - Z one for obvious reasons. That would be Alpha.

And finally, a non-trophy thing I wanted to bring up. In Melee, Marth's white alt is based on the character Leif, from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, the fifth game in the series. What makes this version of the alt different from later white alts is the faded blue color to it, the inner bright red of the cape, and the gold trimmings to his armor.

Later games do not have the faded blue, dulled the red, and replaced the gold trimmings with white. It doesn't look as good in my opinion and I feel like it loses that cool reference. I know this has nothing to do with trophies, but I really wanted to bring this up.

Okay, I am finally done rambling about the trophies and giving you my oddly specific notes/trivia. And of course, as per usual, to those that have gotten this far, thank you for giving this and any other post I've made about this subject the time out of your day/night to read my inane ramblings.

growing up AFAB, i had some sort of connection to masculinity that transcended "tomboyhood" which i couldn't explain at the time. i knew i liked boys and masculine people but always felt like it was in a different way than "other (straight) girls." i didnt really get it until i started watching and reading naruto, which was the first ever anime/manga i had ever watched/read. early on in the show, the two main characters (naruto and sasuke) accidentally kissed as a gag, but when i watched it i was like "........... i wanna be like them.........." and that was how i learned about "yaoi/BL (boys' love) " aka the japanese term for media featuring homosexual relationships between two men. i learned that shipping sasuke and naruto together was really popular (and honestly, the entire series is basically SasuNaru: the show even if the creator didnt specifically intend it to be that way, he's just misogynistic enough to make the only meaningful relationships between men only LOL) and that there was a lot of fanart featuring them together, and that there are a bunch of manga and ships out there that were yaoi too, and i found comfort in SasuNaru, BL media, and yaoi ships in the other shows i grew to like. thank you naruto for teaching me that i liked boys in a "boy way" HAHAHAHAH

n harmonia from pokemon black and white changed the trajectory of my life. i strongly believe that it was because of him that i am transmasc LMAO. i dont really know now what exactly about him made me want to be him so badly, but i remember when i was 11 i ended up making him my entire identity… i used him as a faceclaim on tumblr and saying he was literally me, i used his name as mine, and started using he/they pronouns for the first time. i also identified as agender at the time. something about him changed pokemon gays forever because i know im not the only one who was affected by him LOL

it got a bit more complicated in terms of gender identity when i realized that, although feeling like "boy" i didnt believe i was a "man" and didnt feel comfortable seeing myself as explicitly male. i found comfort in characters like haruhi fujioka from ouran high school host club and naoto shirogane from persona 4, who are both afab but gender nonconforming with more "boyish" looks and mannerisms rather than "manly" ones. their character arcs also specifically addressed gender and gender expression and opened up my mind to the idea of gender as a performance. they helped me realize i am nonbinary and that i could be both, neither, any, in between, whatever and that it both didnt have to matter and that it could be everything to be nothing or anything

the character archetype of “bishounen” aka “beautiful boy,” depicting men of androgynous/feminine beauty, also brought me a lot of clarity in terms of the way i felt transmasc. howl from howl’s moving castle, kurama from yu yu hakusho, kurapika from hunter x hunter, marth from fire emblem, and most importantly ciel phantomhive from black butler (who has been canonically depicted in drag multiple times) are characters that have made me scream “I WANT HIS GENDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR."  they helped me realize that the way i wanted to be masculine and what masculinity meant to ME, regardless of what other people define as masculine, was different, and that i could express masculinity in a way that wasn’t typical
