If megumi asked uzhsjdhshd omg I totally see it tbh him wanting you, but I don't think megumi would ever ask yuuji to share you, in any type of way at all. (not trying to push my own hc here!!) I feel like yuuji himself would be the one asking megumi. Yuuji knows that he's yours just as much as he knows you're his. I have a big google doc thing where I keep track of media and stuff (putting everything in loosely ranked categories), which is mostly just for my own reference so I know what tv shows I've already seen before, etc. and I never really look back through it, typically just a quick "okay, watched two movie in the past 8 months, need to quickly slap them somewhere in the lists. okay. done. save document. exit". But today I was actually reading through some of the old notes and there are like... MULTIPLE places where my comment is basically "It would have been good if it were about elves" or "I wish there was a fantasy show made in this same style" or "It's well made, but I just keep thinking about how I would like it more if everyone was an elf or was in old 1700s costumes" or etc like...... lol.... Most biased media ranking system on earth blatantly made by someone with an extremely hyperspecific range of narrow interests. It'd be like if a food reviewer only had 5 foods they actually liked, so they'd just go to a pizza place and be like "eh, the pizza was okay, but I just think it would be better if it was cereal instead. :/ ...2 out of 10"

very happy Matt decided to clarify his stance on the genocide of the Palestinian people rn. Pretty unhappy with the way he worded it, who he centered in his video, and disappointed to see the responses to it on Twitter.

kinda scared to even post about it bc CR fans can get so defensive about their favorite white people that they can often leave little room for criticism or nuance. but man I have thoughts.

#lemme just say. if you have a public platform that has set a precedent for philanthropic work. messages of positivity and love. #and have called attention to various political and social conflicts *in stream*. & whose employees and cast members are vocal #on socials about political topics #then it is NOT unreasonable for fans to expect them to address one of the deadliest orchestrated conflicts in recent history #a literal genocide is happening. thanks in part to the US. #it is good that they donated as a company and as individuals. so good! #but to everyone saying that publicizing good deeds like donations is virtue signaling or demanding CR cast to show their support is #or that activism shouldnt be all about what you post bc then it becomes performative #are kinda missing the point. and theyre not listening to palestinians at all #a huge issue with this conflict & the way its being received in the western world - ESPECIALLY the US bc of its partnership w israel - #is the sheer amount of disgusting minsinformation and propaganda convincing ppl this genocide is either not that bad or that its necessary #everyday citizens CANNOT change foreign policy. we cant do anything! #so what have Palestinians been asking us to do?? #911 lone star #repeat after me #owen is not the main character because this is an ensemble show #i mean as a general rule you really should stay out of people's inboxes to bitch at them about something you know they don't agree with #but also people are allowed to call out the show for trying to get clout for diversity and then making it the owen strand show #and not even the 'owen strand is sooo good at being fire captain' show which would at least get us firecrew scenes! #it's now the 'owen does anything BUT fire captain because that's basically like sitting on the bench' show #which is a shame because there are a billion police/fbi procedurals i could watch if i wanted to #but i don't i want the found family hopeful wholesome 911-verse #and when owen IS being captain or being dad to TK or one of the team or a friend for the other captains his scenes are so good!! #i love those scenes and they give us more content for the other ensemble characters #and THAT is a lot of the complaint about the screetime is that it's majorly going to one character doing outside stuff #so not only is it not centered on the other characters but they don't even hardly get to be involved! #ANWAY #don't mind me just tired of hearing people say no one can be mad because owen is the main character #if this was a show with 2 mains and a handful of supporting characters or the show was named after owen in some way i'd get it #but literally he isn't the main character and that is why people are upset

I'm watching the VOD of LexieMariex and Shubble talking about their experiences and I'm not done yet -- I'm an hour 30 in and I'll likely be back with more Comprehensive Thoughts when I am all the way thru -- but it's a very candid and insightful conversation in many ways and it's so awfully prevalent to me how like

How absolutely fucking much of it is pure misogyny. This is a conversation abt power dynamics and in many cases about gendered power dynamics -- they point out how much they've been done wrong by the men in their lives defending this and so many of the things they talk about going thru exist so heavily in the context of gendered power dynamics. Both Shubble and Lexie talk about experiences of their abusers weaponizing misogyny and misogynist power dynamics at them both in particular smaller scale cases and in larger scale ones from Shubble being forced to be Wilbur's maid to the "women aren't funny" thing to the sexual violence to the forced emotional labor to the "boys' club" dynamic in their friend groups to the way that their abusers continued to be platformed and supported on a large scale because of how utterly and deeply our culture and thus any fanbase is steeped in misogyny. The gendered dynamics are so elevated with the fact that the viewerbase on which these people's careers live and die enforce those dynamics So Much - gender gains a financial and social power in an environment where, bluntly, men are more popular streamers.

I hesitate to criticize their discussion of this lest it be taken as discrediting of their arguments (honestly this contributes very little to the substance of their speech, which again is very insightful and extremely valuable) but honestly the only mistake they make is the invocation of "narcissists" esp by Lexie where like . While mental health can certainly play a role in how and where abuse happens I don't think that's an important takeaway at all bc all of what they describe is (as they themselves correctly diagnose repeatedly) an issue of systemic blindness and pure, utter, vile, blatant, completely banal misogyny. As always abuse is about power and people with power clinging viciously to it in any way they can, and feeling entitled to the labor and bodies and service of the people they still believe are beneath them. It's about privilege and the systems in which we r all complicit

And that includes the fandom response. Idk I am definitely #partoftheproblem given how little I tend to branch out in my entertainment tastes but like it is our job as a community to do long, hard, continuing examination of gender dynamics and our role in them and why blorbo from our streams is so often a man. This really is the culmination of the fandom misogyny that people have been criticizing for years and it's deeply shameful how little we've all listened.

#The ableism and lack of intersectionality in their discussion makes me somewhat sad bc like . It's a very good discussion #It's extremely candid in how it discusses abuse and I think you should go watch it Immediately. I'm not arguing against anything they're #saying just the language they're usin #Which makes me feel weird still but like . Ableism isn't a small deal . #But it's also not the point which is like . The rest of what this post and that stream are talking abt #I am very thankful to them for doing that stream it's a lot of perspective and stuff to think abt #And like .
