i just saw someone describe a disabled person as "someone with beautiful abilities" i cannot do this anymore

#this is so important #its called a disability for a reason theres no need to sugarcoat it #literally the people who call it “gifted” or “special” or whatever rub me so far the wrong way #especially growing up in a christian setting and interacting with kids my age who have autism/down syndrom/etc and seeing how adults #act around me (high functioning neurodivergent) vs other kids my age (low functioning) was CRAZY. #like theyd treat me like just another kid and then theyd infantalize the other kids and stuff. #its insane.
