When I was a twenty something all those decades ago, I went on a date with a girl I'd met online. It went horrendously for reasons relating to nerves and the next time we met online (msn, iirc) it was 'not her' but her dad who just happened to be an ex-england rugby player.

That was when I stopped meeting people I'd met online. I used facebook for a few years with irl friends but found it became equally difficult and spamming other social media never paid off smh. Only last year did I become so lonely I decided to go back to square one.

I'd used icq in the late 90s, and I'd had so much fun talking with anyone and everyone, I kind of thought it might be the same again in 2023. For a while it was and it seems we've moved out finally from under the terrordome that fell after 9/11.

Of course, I also know myself infinitely better now, have fewer hang-ups and appreciate how broadly attitudes have changed. What I also learned however was just how much information is communicated over non-verbal channels.

I'm one of those 'sees things no one else sees' people and I'm not comfortable building relationships without all those visual cues and micro-gestures. I'm not a lost cause and I've learned to compensate, but it's not easy. Not that it should be, but it does have to be high quality.

Probably I should just move back to a big city and return to being a sociable person—even if those friendships can be so transient—instead of rotting away here in this hornets nest. It's easier to connect online but really the benefits are only felt when we're enriched by the full experience of being welcomed into someone's personal space.

Just this morning in fact, I walked my dog listening to music on an old dictaphone because my phone was dead. I'd almost forgotten how good sound quality can be with a cable and a lossless file, and I'm a regular classical concert goer.

yk the other day i was just laying around and suddenly the great curiousity surronding cannibalism has struck me!! so tell me dear user would cannibals actually make human soup as in keep torso make hole cook insides and human soup inside a human

ok so i’ve done a little bit of collaboration with my one and only beloved cannibal soulmate @sequinhaze and here are our thoughts on the makings of a proper human soup:

- whole body as the bowl? too much effort, too many holes. the perfect fix for that? SKULL BOWL!

- as far as broth goes, the soup is blood based. excellent aesthetic, i think. so long as the blood isn’t cooked it tastes better. (for legal reasons i can’t answer questions pertaining to this, but trust me)

- bone marrow is also a key ingredient, it adds that bit of salt and flavor that really brings the soup to the next level. if you’re confused or concerned, see harrow the ninth by tamsyn muir for more info

- brunt of the meat should come from the leg, probably the thigh. i’m sure calf meat could slay as well, but it might be too gamey for the texture you’re going for. you also can’t go wrong with ass and tits, you just can’t. 

- use fingers as breadsticks. you can dunk them into the soup, chomp the meat off the bone, discard or display the bones once you’re done with ‘em

- every good soup needs a little crunch. instead of crackers, try vertebrae !

- brains would make for good noodles, if that’s something you’re looking to add, but this is a step you could skip if that’s not really your thing

- last but not least, there needs to be a bit of a flourish, one last ingredient to really make the meal dazzle. my suggestions would be to either get an eyeball in there, or a heart. the heart could overtake the rest of the flavors if you’re not careful, so an eyeball might be a better suggestion for beginners, but i really think a heart could be quite lovely and add that extra OOMPH, yk?

i realize this goes far beyond your inquiry, but i can’t help getting carried away where cannibalism is concerned. don’t report me to the fbi, please, unless will graham is free <3
