✨happy Thursday, sweet souls🧜🏽‍♀️ I’ve been loving all of the rain + thunderstorms we’ve been having in south florida lately..feels like a thorough cleansing prior to the summer solstice on sunday💦 I’ll be posting my Solstice Tips tomorrow (yes I know for those who have asked😝) that way you can prep for however you choose to celebrate the day🌞 meanwhile, a few quick tips to remember about #weathermagick 🌎 rain: collect for cleansing, baths, blessings. aids with purification + healing spiritual work💧 lightning: rain water collected during lightning storms is extremely powerfully charged + potent. excellent for adding strength to any spiritual work relating to confidence, power, protection + manifestation⚡️ thunder: ring bells + chimes in time with thunder claps to channel the strength to refresh the energy of your space with sound💨 snow/ice: use for transformation, peace, purification, + emotional release spiritual work. collect + store in freezer with specific name/item to halt bad energy from another❄️ wind: allow wind to whip past your body, cleansing your aura + ridding stagnant energy. allow mind to travel + aid in opening third eye; use caution with astral travel💨 fog/mist: employ protective + shielding energies during spiritual work. focus on activating crown + third eye through stillness, enhancing mysticism🌫 hurricanes/tornadoes: for transformative spiritual work involving destruction, transmutation, + creation. use the strength + power to strengthen your resolve + start anew🌪 for terrible conditions: visualize a protective bright blue shield of energetic light surrounding you / those affected by the storm. dedicate a white candle to the protection of those in the storm path + burn for 3 days - prior, during, + after the storm🧿 obviously, these are just suggestions. do what you feel called to when + how YOU feel is right for you🧚🏽‍♀️ I’m off to start making lists for #hurricaneprep this year - making sure I stock up on plenty of extra Rice Krispie treats😅 all my love + a wish for you to stay ever so magickal✨ #feyherba #rainyday #weather #naturalmagick #weatherwitch #mothernature #storms #weatherthestorm #brujasdeinstagram (at Lake Worth, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQO4rhRh4dx/?utm_medium=tumblr

storm binding spell

this spell was my first ever attempt at weather magick from a few months ago, and it worked great, so i wanted to share it!

(please note that weather magick isn't recommended for really new witches. if you still want to practice weather magick but is a beginner, i'd probably start with something a little easier!)

ingredients:

The Tower card - representing the storm you're trying to bind

Strength card - representing your strength and willpower

An amethyst - for calming and taming the storm

Rope or string - to do the binding

A bag (optional) - to add extra seclusion

Casting

take The Tower. look at it and say:

"Storm, i bind you. you will not have any effect over (area). i remove your power"

take Strength. look at it and say:

"With the power within me, i ensure that my power is successful and that the storm is binded"

put the tarot cards infron of you, with The Tower at the bottom. take your rope and say:

"i bind you"

repeat until you have bound the two cards together. if you decided to use a bag, then put the amethyst in the bag along with your cards. if not, just put the amethyst on top of the cards. store somewhere dark and secluded, and only remove the rope/string when you want to release the storm again

Rain Spell

Materials

Green Candle

Paper Map of area

Rice water

Saffron (helps control weather)

Rain water

Full moon (preferably)

Clear Quartz

*step one - Cast your circle with a little mixture of rain water and salt. Call any deities into your circle at this time. Lay your map on a flat surface.

*step two - Light a green candle , dress it with your rain water, saffron, and rice water mix and put the water on the section of the map that you want it to rain over. (Don’t make the area too big, know your limits).

step three - Listen to rain sounds, or do this when it is raining in your area. Meditate on making the rain come to that area. Envision the clouds forming, the air being still and warm, the rain falling, thunder cracking, and lightening dancing through the sky. Imagine the rain overpowering the flames, quenching the Earth, returning water to it.

*step four - Reach your hand into the water mixture and say the spell while sprinkling it on the map.

*step five - Imagine the Earth drinking up the water, and balance being restored to nature. Imagine flowers blooming, big white puffy clouds forming in the sky and the area flourishing.

*step six - close your circle, fold the map and bury it.

The Spell

A brewing storm, makes clouds form

The clouds will pour out rain

Until thirst is quenched

And there is mist

And Earth is whole again

This coming storm will bring no harm

To man, or horse, or home

The only thing this storm will leave

Is calm after it’s gone

Let it rain, let it storm

Let the water pour

So mote it be

✨Cat Magick: Feline Familiars✨

The cat is one of the most prominent and iconic of witch’s familiars. An emissary of several pagan goddesses, ethereally aloof, effortlessly diabolic – they have long been considered to be potent magickal agents in the worlds of both matter and spirit.

From records of Bast and cat-headed sun gods in the religion and sorcery of the ancient world, to their appearances, uses and meanings in medieval grimoires of both high ceremonial ritual and everyday folk magic, cats have been a prominent part of our lives and the world of magick.

And from the Black Cat of African-American Conjure for works of gambling and fortune – that is, feline sorceries of luck and the stealing of the luck of others – to the Cat Sidhe of Irish legend, and the King of Cats in European folklore. And of course the appearances and actions of witches’ familiars in trial records, and how they were worked with in order to – amongst other things – bring curses upon enemies.

The cat is a truly magickal creature that connects us with the world of Spirit, the unseen, and our inner self. Sending blessings to you and your loved ones.
