Oh interesting! I didn’t realize it was a huge issue/joke. I don’t interact much with the fandom at large. I stick to tumblr only, and even then, I don’t have many followers, so im probably not an authority on the subject!

It’s my opinion that there should be less of a focus on shipping and more of a focus on the platonic relationships in general, so if shipping goes down the drain, it won’t hurt me!

I went to chipotle today for a burrito bowl. During the one hour it took them to get my food out to me (it’s newly opened, I should have known better), a wing nut came into my business and tried to share the word of the Lord by handing out pamphlets. She didn’t want us to burn for all eternity, you see, and wanted us to know that we should accept Jesus Christ as our one true savior or whatever.

My business partner said “no thank you, I’m Jewish.” Her standard (truthful) response which usually works to cut off any further discussion. However this particular wingnut says “jesus is the messiah so that means technically I’m Jewish too.”

(Lady. You can’t just say that. You can’t just. SAY THAT. PLEASE. STOP.)

That wasn’t really worth responding to, so my partner didn’t. And when the wingnut then tried to turn her attention to our employee she said “no. No no. They’re all mine here.”

I’m sad I missed her chasing off the fanatic - it’s my favorite pastime but also I’m not sad because why god why do people think this kind of thing is ok?

Anyway. It’s time to revisit a purchase of this sign for our door, since the evangelists just keep rolling in and all we have are two lapsed Catholics and our Jewish work mom, none of whom are really gonna be too eager to get the latest religious tract and save ourselves from eternal damnation.

news from the uk right now is that our new prime minister, who was appointed little over a month ago, is now being asked by her own party to resign after almost crashing the pound and having to do a complete u-turn on her policies.

she's actually had even less time in power (because parliament has to 'respectfully' stop due to the queen dying, cos you know, the country had to come to a complete halt for ten days) and her time in control is being likened to the shelf life of a lettuce. no seriously, there is currently a live stream of 'who will last longer, liz truss or this lettuce?':
