Ichneumonid wasp in the genus Ophion
Northern California
The larvae of these solitary wasps are parasites of other insect larvae, particularly caterpillars. The adults are non aggressive and generally do not sting humans. I had to escort this particular individual outside using the cup and paper method.

I feel like too many people think wasps are evil and don’t see their role in the environment.

EVIL MARK, EVIL MARK, EVIL MARK!!! I want to be coherent about this season but please picture me foaming at the mouth and running on the walls. S2 being what if Mark's just like his Dad? Insanity. I love this show. Anyways, AU where an Evil!Mark tries to make Our!Mark worse, and Our!Mark tries to make the other better. Something something confronting your idea of the worst version of oneself. Plus, tweaked black and yellow costume because I saw it and immediately went murder hornet lookin' ass and knew I had to draw it. Evil ass Mark. Horrible. I think he should be dragged kicking and screaming into redemption.

i just spent the last 40 minutes rescuing a large wasp from the web of a small spider that was way too threatened by it to even attempt the bite and just left it alone.. one side of it was pretty badly tangled but it ended up just sitting in my hand as i slowly pulled pieces away. i couldn't get all of it off but i did get enough that its wings were free and it had use of all its legs. then i took it outside and placed it on a plant where it went to work grooming itself T_T i hope it'll be okay

You know what I would have really appreciated in the conversation between Luz and the Titan? The Titan admitting that he did give Philip his three glyphs....out of pity.
Like the Collector just pointed out that the Titan only shares this knowledge with people he likes, and Luz beat herself up for so long for giving Philip the last of the glyphs, so why not ease her mind and connect Luz to the Titan by him pointing out that he made the same “mistake” as her. He saw a lost, scared teenager(?) in a strange land and didn’t want him to perish there. Only that, unlike Luz who was eager to learn, Philip didn’t want to understand and deepen his bond with the isles and had to be on the brink of death to even notice the glyphs (that’s why it took him so long to assemble them). And it wasn’t their fault that he misused their kind gifts afterwards
Also imagine:
Philip: Why is this evil world so eager to kill me? Why will no one help me in my time of need?
The Titan holding a neon sign pointing at a helpful glyph: Why you little...it’s right next to you!!!

To my fellow WoF fans!!
Which villain do you think is more well-written, and why?
Or, who is the better villain, and why?
I welcome all unpopular opinions

ty for the warning signs, sorry people are being mildly annoying in your notes, sana masarap lagi ang ulam nyo <3
Thank you I will survive. At least it is my art that escaped containment this time...
*looking into the distance, thinking about my post about valentines day being about the color red and my post about how much I like wasps* could be far more annoying.

have to say one thing fandomwise i'm not enjoying about RTD2 is him getting/taking credit for positive moves when he'd previously been very much part of the problem and we're just pretending that bit never happened. davros shouldn't be a disabled villain, yeah, but you were fine with it before, even adding the wheelchair-using villain in that s2 cyberman story, and i want to know what changed and when. like that's actually a thing worth discussing, what kind of awareness-raising actually works and what didn't?
the tardis is accessible now. good! but the old tardis was just a flat studio floor, it was nu who (back at RTD1) that started adding pointless stairs to the set just because it... looked nice? apparently? so i am glad it has at last lost the useless stairs (for now at least) but why did it have them in the first place? cos i already know that the real answer is "because nobody involved in the production even realised it was an issue." which is normal! i accept that people mostly don't think of these things because they don't have to! even in fandom the fans who first noticed the ramps in the new tardis were the ones with some interest in disability rights (often because they or someone close to them is disabled - as i said most people don't have to be aware of these things (though it'd help tremendously if they were)).
idk there's a level on which i feel like i'm being gaslit? i mean good on him for having learned over time on a number of issues, but pretending he didn't learn makes it all seem a bit disingenuous and also takes away from the fact that he clearly has done some thinking on things and has come to new conclusions, which is good and the sort of thing we can praise without pretending there was no problem to begin with.

Got very sad at work yesterday because I'm a very open bug enthusiast and I was sharing the experience of befriending the wasps in my yard last summer and was hit with the "um actually wasps are pure evil and I go out of my way to kill them". By three different people
And I'm scared of confrontation so all I could manage was "my bug-loving heart is wasted on you haters" spoken comedically
Guess I can't infodump at work anymore :(
