Your ocs are all so interesting! What was the thought process behind them?

Ah you’re so sweet!!! I rlly do try to make my characters interesting and likeable, i’m v glad u enjoy them!! As for my process behind them, SURE! None of this is going to be coherent but i’ll try to walk u thru it! It’s a long read so it’ll all b under the cut!

I’d been meaning to make COTL ocs for a while ever since i saw just the VAST amount of variety in follower forms, but I wanted to make them meaningful, yknow? Not just a random follower but smthn w story, intrigue! Inspo didn’t strike until I’d reached the post game and found out abt the bishops’ quests. And i was very disappointed with it. OKAY. I GET why they’re unguarded, they’re hidden away in the deepest crevasses of their respective realms, and I GET IT. I do, i swear, I SWEAR i get it. I do. but cmon, its so underwhelming and I hate it so much. That’s when I thought up of the guardians as like an entire concept, and thus the time to create COTL ocs was upon me!

Kitty was first- they were easy as the design was just my sona in the COTL style give or take a few minor details. OBV I updated them and made them more unique (the spikes, the tail, the eyes, and the massive personality shift to that of an envious follower desperately searching for approval from SOMEONE) but using my sona as a template helped out tremendously in the process. I don’t recommend doing so…

Bat, Dove and Bear- unlike Kitty- were all created with their enemy forms in mind, The Archer, The Summoner and The Guardian. Kitty just kinda fell into the awkward scamp/swordsman role naturally, and it was fitting. First guardian meant they wouldn’t b too strong normally.

Next was Bat because I was REALLY excited to draw the summoner enemy. They were kind of made to be Kitty’s opposite, youngest/oldest, become bug/reject bug sorta thing. Bat’s first draft was a moody bug with big red eyes and a few screws loose upstairs, if u catch my drift. I thought they were too much like Chemach in their expressions, the way they spoke and regarded the lamb, even the way they hung and thrashed about in their webs. so I kept playing around until I remembered BATS exist, and then had the phenomenal idea of making the spider’s guardian a bug eating wrathful BAT instead. I still got to have the cool head limbs in his final form, but NOW instead of just making them bug arms which is eh, i could make them SKELETAL WINGS. With their many eyes and wings he gives the vibe of an angel to me, which I think is pretty cool all things considered.

Next I did was my prideful Bear, and I always knew she was gonna be exactly like Kallamar in the sense that she would have the LEAST changes design wise from boss to guardian to follower. She was the only actual GUARDIAN enemy to be a guardian, and given how actually agonizingly tough those fkers are to fight i figured she deserved it. Originally she was a brawler who utilized hand to hand combat to directly contrast with Kallamar’s many weapons, but once the sailor theme got thrown in I figured giving her a weapon would b better. I decided on a pirate’s sword made out of the crystal growths in Anchordeep- a pretty and sparkly object a pirate would love, but a weapon that’s honestly probably not great against another aword, but she’d never say that out loud. Her sword is better because she’s the more skilled fighter. She also got to use the mask as a shield because I wasn’t sure what to do with her hands OR the mask. Dove was the only other one with one of them and uhhh… well….. yknow…..

Dove was the last and honestly the biggest migraine i’ve ever had designing an oc for a game in a WHILE. She’s very simple, she’s just a chubby Morning Dove- that’s so easy to work with actually. I’ve drawn birds, but not COTL birds. so she. was. a. NIGHTMARE. Bird followers are honestly just so awkward looking in this game, I really couldn’t figure her follower form out until I used OTHER birds for reference (Clauneck, Kudaai, Chemach, Klunko, and especially Haro.) I’m still not entirely happy with her, but given the circumstances I think she turned out the best she would ever be. I just wish smthn more was going on w her… everything, yknow? Feels like smthn’s missing w her. I still find her boss form incredibly cool though- I love how all the gold and stuff she’s overindulged in gets stuck in her throat/chest and makes all these gross lumps, it’s my favorite visual thing about her. I try to do lots of visual storytelling, and that sucks bc its no fun to just tell people what to look for and what it means, so you kinda have to hope these details get noticed and are interpreted right. Anyways yap session over.

Ok so I’m this post I showed off my Spider-Sona. Originally it was for a Spider-Man x Mha AU. Specifically one in which Todoroki was Spider-Man. It was only recently that I really started to come up with story for that au. I wanted to share what I have so far, but I’ll probably be splitting it into parts since the google doc is like 8 pages. So this first part will be before UA.

The MHA earth is gonna be Earth-2016, and it’s basically gonna be canon mha. So quirks are still a thing. But now todo has his quirk + spider powers.

He got them a year before UA. And that was when endeavor took him to his agency, shouto got in trouble for doing something at the house and Enji decided that he would not be left alone, and got bit by a radioactive Spider.

The spider in question was brought in as evidence from a drug lab bust that was performed about a week prior. The only reason they noticed the spider was because it was kept in a container and had the “warning radioactive” sticker in it. The agency looked at the files but there wasn’t much on the spider. On that day, the spider managed to somehow escape its enclosure, and while a completely unaware shouto was wandering the halls the spider bit him.

So he feels pretty normal the rest of the day, but that night he starts to feel sick. He goes to bed and the next morning he’s magically feeling better. (Also in this au his vision in his left eye was damaged from the boiling water.) He wakes up and can suddenly see perfectly out of his left eye. He goes to get out of bed when he hears a rip. He looks at the bed sheet in his had to see that he had ripped them with a pair of talons that had grown on his hands. (The talons are retractable and not as big as Miguel’s) He shoots out of bed and runs for the door, his hand gets stuck to the door knob for a second before he finally gets free and makes a beeline for the bathroom. His mouth had felt weird since he woke up. It was unnaturally dry and felt as if it was overcrowded. So he looks in the mirror and sees a large set of fangs protruding from his top gums and a smaller but still unreasonably big set on from his bottom gums. (Unfortunately for our poor boy these are not retractable. He has a venom that is released through his fangs. He also has natural spinnerets in his arms now)

Anyway: time skip, he gets his suit made (it has web shooters built into it as a back up)

(Also in this au todoroki is more similar to my todoroki, so he’s pretty loud. But because of the fangs he now has to hide he started speaking much softer. (No one really noticed a change at home since shouto definitely wasn’t very loud there, and since he was homeschooled he didn’t have to worry about any classmates noticing) so that will explains why he’s so quiet and kinda mumbles in the show.)

So he becomes the Spider-Man of (whatever Japanese city he’s nearest to as well as a few others) and you may be asking “well what’s his uncle Ben moment?” Well when he’s starting out, he hasn’t the slightest idea of how to be a vigilante though he does try his best. Eventually a much more experienced vigilante( idk her name yet or her quirk) feels kinda bad for him and decides to take him under her wing. They get really close and she kinda becomes the mother/aunt figure that shouto has never had but always desperately wanted. Until one night they’re both working together to try and take down a gang that’s been extorting people for “protection”. There’s a lot of gang members and the two are out numbered but they’re managing. That is until someone either shoots his mentor or she gets impaled by someone’s quirk. She goes down and shouto sees red. He takes down the gang, webs them up and runs over to her.

She dies in his arms.

The person that killed her fled as soon as shouto began overpowering the gang. Shouto chases after her killer and eventually corners them. He hangs them high above the ground, and he wants to freeze them to death, or drop them, he’ll he’s even mad enough to burn them. But he stops. Killing this person would make him just as bad as them. And it’s definitely not what his mentor would want.

So he ties the thug up and leaves a note.

This is the first time Spider-Man makes the front page of the news, It’s all Japan can talk about for weeks.

And also right before UA he actually gets recruited to the Spider Society. So he has the “Goober” or dimensional travel watch. (He gets invited a few months after across the spider-verse happens as well as the events of beyond the spider verse. Miguel and miles have made up and are working on it) So he also is constantly wearing the watch. Miguel along with noir are his spider mentors. Miguel helps with the talon and fang aspects of his powers (how to properly retract his talons and how to deal with the fangs and how to hide them. Noir trains him with hand to hand combat, detective skills (noir is a private eye), stealth, and also pickpocketing and a couple of other tricks.

So the typical Spider-Man villains aren’t the big guys in this au. The League of Villains is still the biggest concern. And while shouto does fight them sometimes. His villains are still threats but definitely aren’t as well known or as feared as the league. Anomalies are also still occurring, So sometimes another spiders villain will pop into another’s dimension.

2020 Art Summary

Yep, it’s 2021 already. 2020 is finally over. It felt like it lasted forever, and it felt like the end would never come, but here we are. Crazy how the time flew by.

I felt like I didn’t get much art done this year because of Current World Event, but I made a lot more than I thought I did. Even some of my new favorite pieces came out of this year, so I think that’s worth celebrating and looking back upon!

I was insanely productive during the first month of 2020, and looking back I was surprised at all the stuff I did, but then I remembered that that winter season was actually one of the best times of my life! I started being more socially involved, and I think my newfound drive at the time translated into all the art I pumped out this month. This is just a small fraction of what I made in January, but I only have so much space. Quite a few complex pieces in both style exploration and polishing my own style.

Apparently February was a rather intimate month. Things began to slow down in terms of my own art here, with me spending more time in social settings and school work ramping up, I didn’t have as much time to coop up in my room to draw. I did wanna do something for a friend’s Valentine’s Day OC art challenge, so I drew my lovey-dovey couple from Dance of 1000 Words havin’ a dance. Nothing actually came of that challenge, but it was fun to do regardless.

One of the things I was most proud of in the winter season was making more friends, and one of the closest friends I made was completely coincidental. I met a person named Kiri on the bus one night I decided to volunteer somewhere by myself, and we ended up chatting and getting along. They quickly told me their tumblr username, and I shot them a message immediately after they left. A couple days later, we met up for brunch, and we started becoming really close friends and creative partners!

Not much else happened in March cuz that’s when Current World Event started becoming an issue, but Kiri and I still kept in close touch and we randomly started developing a concept for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Galar Edition. These are a handful of characters we thought up, with Skipper the Scorbunny and Dross the Dreepy as the main characters, Morgrem as the main antagonist, and some shopkeepers such as those of the Greedent Bank and the Indeedee General Store. This was also my first time drawing all of these Galar Pokemon (except Scorbunny, but I also made Skipper a bit more unique than a regular Scorbunny).

Lots of events happened this month. First of all, Steven Universe Future ended, one of my favorite and most influential shows was no longer continuing. I had to do something as tribute, both as a send-off to one of the greatest cartoons in the world and as a cathartic release for my feelings towards it.

A while later, I got the opportunity to start playing an MMO in beta called Fer.al, by the same people who made Animal Jam, which coincidentally I had also beta tested for back in the day. I ended up getting really attached to my first character, a Senri I named Sasha, and though I’ve made more characters than them since, they’re still my absolute favorite. Though I haven’t touched the game in a few months, I was really engrossed for a long time and enjoyed playing through the beta and early access phases.

At the end of the month, some friends of mine invited to a roleplay group with some mutuals, and we all played characters in a crime syndicate. Just a bunch of ragtag thieves and criminals who ended up together in order to protect an artifact called the Crown of Thieves, which was essentially a flag to be taken by other groups to prove that they are the best thieves in the land. My character was based heavily on my sona (if it wasn’t obvious) and was also influenced by Cloud Strife, since the FFVII Remake had just come out and I was super into watching the cutscenes at the time. My character’s (code)name is Valkyrie, and they are a mercenary, going between multiple different employers to carry out whatever duties they need to do. They have a more complicated backstory, but presently they were recently hired by recommendation of their friend Shark (played by @shmoots-universe who is also My friend now ily maya) who works with a group called the Court Cards who are currently in possession of the Crown of Thieves. Valk never really had a place to call home, but staying with this group of people had to be the closest they could get to that feeling. They still sleep with a knife under their pillow because of trust issue but that’s okay.

Okay, so technically these examples started in April, but I continued making content with them in May, and the month was just pretty void of art in general, so here I am addressing them.

There were two main things I worked on this month: a Steven Universe AU of my own and the whole #sixfanarts thing that kicked off around then. Let’s start with the fanart bits. I did two and a half of them (six in April and nine in May), and it was so much fun to be able to draw stuff I don’t normally do! My personal favorites are shown here: Blake Belladonna from RWBY, Roll from Megaman, Yuki Konno from Sword Art Online, and Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The other thing I’d been planning for a while was a Steven Universe AU, probably to cope with the show being over but also because I was inspired by a lot of those SU AU artists I started following at the time. I won’t share the details here because it’s gonna have its own blog at some point, but the example I’ve shown here is of a comic I made loosely in order to introduce a divergence in the plot of the story as well as introduce a character unique to my AU. It was a lot of fun figuring out how to draw the characters and get a feel for the style.

As the year progressed, my amount of art I made per month began to dwindle, this time mostly because school was kicking my ass especially hard with finals. However, I took what time I had to get some backburner pieces finished, like the Tigerlily picture which I sketched out a couple months back, and the Gunvolt picture which I started working on SIX YEARS AGO. I don’t quite know why I got the urge to work on it again after so long, but it was nice to finally realize. The other drawing for DOTS was done in the dead of night but I was really happy with how it came out.

Despite only having two summer classes left of school, this month was really rough because they demanded a lot of my time and attention. I did not have the gumption to do anything digital, so I stuck to my sketchbook to get out what I felt like getting out.

My friends and I did a stream of the game Helltaker, and I really enjoyed the concept, so in following my friends I made my own Helltaker demon OC named Raksha the Ravenous Demon (it’s a pun but also got mythical insp). I also got super into Hazbin Hotel at this point, mostly because the Addict music video dropped and I couldn’t get enough of it, so I doodled Angel Dust cuz I felt like it. The other drawing I did was actually a free commission I gave a friend of mine as a prize for a trivia game show I ran back in June. He along with a couple other friends got some free drawings from me for getting the top three scores, and this one in particular was fun because of how interesting it was. He wanted me to draw a video game reviewer called the Irate Gamer from a specific moment, and I decided to go ham and just make it as dramatic as possible.

University classes finally wrapped up and right after that I was in the process of moving out of my apartment and getting adjusted to living with my parents again. I did a couple of agg.io drawing sessions with my friends from the Court Cards group as well as a new Dungeons and Dragons homebrew group I had joined. I drew some more of Valkyrie and came up with a design for my DND character Qakuqtuq (or Kai for short). He is monkey grandpa and I love him.

My main focus was on finishing a polished piece for my friend Cake, whose birthday was in the upcoming month. I wanted it to be as amazing as possible, so I put a lot of time into getting more detailed and making them look good. In addition to that, I did a few TOME doodles just for fun. The creature on the bottom was for this month’s art challenge on my Discord server where we made original TOMERPG monsters, and I created Hundylow, a Crystal-element monster based on the Grindylow from English folklore.

This month was a lot more productive than the past few had been. I tried to do a 31-day art challenge called Creatober but failed to get past the third prompt because I was still swamped with other work. I’m still happy with what little I did, including the piece with my characters Kyle and Guarudan from DSWD.

I don’t remember how, but I also suddenly rediscovered an old Flipnote Hatena series called Tales of LostClan, a Warriors fan series that I would say was the most obscure thing I’ve ever been super invested in. It was what got me into the actual Warriors books, and I liked it so much I redrew the animations into a comic... twice. Didn’t get nearly as far the second time but clearly my love for this little fanfiction had not waned after nearly a decade. I felt like drawing a book cover/movie poster for the series, just to get it out there and see how much I’ve improved over all that time.

Also I felt like making a vampiresona just before Halloween because I never dress up for Halloween in art (or real life anymore, for that matter), and I wanted to do something like that for once. It was short-lived but I really liked the design!

The focus of this month was definitely on Pokemon stuff. As per usual I contributed to the current Gotta Draw ‘Em All collab, and I was tasked to draw Regieleki. It was really fun to figure out how to make it stand out and look like it was made of electricity.

I also committed a lot of my spare time to my Fakemon Gym Leaders, as I had been working on bringing them to life in the past year or so now. As of this post, I’ve finished rendering their full body poses and gym badges, but I’m still working on completing all eight VS portraits, the first half of which are shown here.

I... didn’t draw anything this month, actually. What I’m showing here was worked on in the last few days but has actually been in progress for a couple of months, and I just finished it earlier today, in 2021. But I needed to show something off, and it’s also about time I mentioned it.

Back in October, I kept seeing people rave about this game called Genshin Impact, and I was interested but not so much as to start playing it... until my friends started playing and I was like “fuck it, let’s download it”. Since that day, I have been super immersed and in love with this game, to the point I came up with my own canon based on my gameplay experiences. This also included the creation of an original player character: Astra, the non-binary Traveller. And now, I’ve finally drawn them and brought them to life.

It has been one hell of a year. I had some of the highest highs and lowest lows in 2020, lots of changes, and I have now officially moved onto the next chapter of my life now that my time at university is finally over. I’m very excited for what 2021 has to offer, and I’m going to go forward with great ambition.

Dirk, Dirk pls. no one can take you seriously now that we can actually SEE your Villain-Sona.

oh god, the second hand embarassment is real.

Alright so there seems to be like, a tinge of Rose existing as her own person, doing things that Dirk dislikes, but its in conversation only, so it seems facetious.

The other true thing though is the narrative is entirely Dirk’s perspective, and Dirk is exactly the kind of person who would absolutely love and believe he was capable of subsuming another person’s soul and idealogy entirely, but we went through this deceit in the epilogues with John and Roxy as well, with John’s unquetionaing hold on reality and what is canon also seeming to have an unconcious warping effect to whatever John thought was important, but Roxy gave a good point of how do you even know you did this and i didn’t choose it or wouldnt have chose it? you dont

So we could see that being repeated here, either as a parallel of that or a subversion, remains to be seen

“ Speaking of which, I think it's time I started undoing some of the more egregious mistakes this story has been subjected to over the years. Yes, I'm talking about that guy. The other orange one. Remember him? Vriska got stalked by him a bit and it was uncomfortable for everyone concerned. Anyway, the point is that he fucked up big time, and I'm here to clean up the horseshit. It's time to get this story back on the rails, back to what it was always supposed to be. I know it, and you've somehow always known it too. There was something else, some other route that Homestuck was meant to take but then didn't, a way that wouldn't've spent so much time dicking around with stuff nobody cares about. Like seriously, why did we all have to sit through talking about everyone's most intimate and private feelings for two hundred thousand fucking words. That would never have happened in Act 1. Where did it all go wrong? “

lol the andrew hussie is peeking through a bit here, so Homestuck2 is gonna be the exact thing I figured a sequel would be, its going to be a sort of retelling of the story, but its gonna flip the importance for certain things in the opposite directions, so right here its saying Homestuck is a story with a layer of importance on the characters themselves and their mindsets and how they lived in the environment they found themselves in, with the lore and the conceit of the story being a huge creation story more of a backdrop than the focus

so Homestuck2 is going to be a more "creation story” focused more on the sburb lore, buts its going to have less of a focus on the characters (perhaps even to the detrimnet? maybe characters will seem strange and out of character? but he kinda already made that feeling i the audience with the epilogues, thats what that intended effect was)

and neither one i think will turn out to better or worse than the others, theres definitely going to be benefit and downsides for both, but its not hard to see that Homestuck1 is the story that Hussie wanted to Tell, and Homestuck2 is how he’s changing it and telling a different story than he originally would have in the first place

not that hes changing Homestucks orignal story at all, but now hes telling a decidedly different one

Thus far, even though I understand Dirk’s basic mindset being “Hussie’s story sucks im gonna tell a BETTER one” and deciding that he alones gets to decide others will is unquestionably villainous train of thought, like why cant we let the characters just decide for themselves what kind of story they wanted to have and be genuine..

I AM dying of curiosity to see what sort of lore and information were going to get out of this, especially with the twist of that sort of focus being brought more into view, it’s a tantalizing glimpse of something very sexy that im into...

WORLDBUILDING :p

The World of Homestuck to me, HAS always been more infinitely exciting and interesting to me than the characters themselves, even though i liked them fine, they werent the reason why i kept reading the story for sure

Anything little thing we get about sburb or the world system out of this im happy with, regardless of what happens to the characters

(Would that be considered a villainous mindset if I was in canon? maybe ^^; good thing im not lol it does give off very “evil mad scientist morally corrupt experiments” kind of vibe lolol)

“ Look, I know what you're all really craving. I've been studying canon—or rather, what's left of it—and I think I've found it. The critical moment, in the wake of which everything started to take a nosedive into the protracted, endless slog of sheer insufferability we got saddled with near the end. This was the single most crucial error in the process that led to the present situation. The day when the story was wrested screaming from the arms of its readers like a bawling infant and carried helplessly away, from then on to be raised according to the whims of a masochistic menace with no thought for you, the common fan. “

I do have to laugh at this though, because your not wrong??? but also, it was inevitable that a story that started out like homestuck and was written like homestuck and ended like homestuck would inevitably turn out the way it did

it was a communal product of the screaming masses that turned into a singular mans story, it was unfortunately going to lose something to everyone, because everyones ideas couldnt all coexist in one canon at the same time (thats what outside of canon is for)

and then Dirk does something I DIDNT expect him to do

“Channelling my full potential as an ascended player of Heart, I expand my consciousness to commune with the boundless force of collective willpower that is the internet. My mind floods with its divine potency, a million formless cries coalescing into a sequence of discrete, formal instructions. It is a maelstrom as chaotic as it is deafening. And yet from this formless, uninterrupted spate of hard, unembellished data, a single suggestion takes form, as if bubbling up from a vast, infinite ocean of possibility. It is a whispered prayer to a compassionate god whose ear attends faithfully the will of his believers.Ok, let's see what you chucklefucks came up with.“

instead of entirely subsuming other’s will like a villain would, he has instead opened up his heart and conciousness to absorb the ideas, suggestions and wills of the masses, he is literally trying to bring back the act1 flavor of homestuck by taking suggestions, be he is ironically doing something no different than hussie did by curating and choosing which one to respond to

hah! he really does think he is the hero of this universe with Hussie as some sort of villain.

So Hussie has probably intentionally curated this idea of himself as “Author Villain” who drives the story seemingly into mud by seeming to reject and upend the audiences expectation rather than curate them and bringing forth the best out,

this happens with the epilogues undoubtedly,

and this environment has gown a character from inside the story to step out and try to “oust” him from this position and instead tell a “good” story one that “everyone” wants, but is in fact detrimental to the story and world that the characters inside it themselves wants, which is was Hussie curated the whims to in the epilogues instead of the audience

So maybe this will be a “good” story, and hit all the marks for what the audience wanted originally, but there is no benevolent force to make sure a happy ending exists for any of the characters inside of it, because what the characters want doesnt matter anymore, only the lore does

i have too many characters who are either literally the same character with very minor differences, or have literally the same names as each other due to various stupid reasons

there’s Alkaline, who’s one of my oldest original characters and has the defining traits of being extremely charismatic and friendly, and also just up and ghosting as soon as they fuck anything up

and then when i made my alien aisha, Fiberoptic, i have him like, the same personality. they’re very slightly different because Fiberoptic actually has to hold down a job, but that’s REALLY not enough and i need to find a way to make him Different, because when it comes to original character vs. neopet oc, neopet oc is who’s gonna have to change

my fursona, URL, and my mutant aisha are all Synthaphone- i named the aisha first, actually, and then liked her name so much that i stole it for the rest of everything. now i call my fursona Synth, myself Synth, AND the aisha Synth, and those are actually all different entities (but also i’ve kind of used the aisha as a sona before even though her personality isn’t quite mine?? i dont know)

and then another one of my oldest ocs, Skurl, is a pink, half skeletal pessimist squirrel who goes on a road trip. but i named a neopet after him because I was gonna try to make him on-site as a pink bori wearing the halloween bori’s outfit??? but then i didn’t do that and i wanted a mutant kacheek, so now I have two Skurls. I’ve decided to call the Kacheek Sam, to avoid confusion, EXCEPT.... Samuel was supposed to be Skurl’s real name, so it still is confusing and stupid and Oh Dear

Sparks Origins

I blame @alainaprana for this idea.

Okaaaay so I've been struggling alot with Sparks origins and his parentage. For those who know and have read the previous story with Sparks i had wrote him with a mother named Aura. Unfortunately due to struggles with designing her character and personality (mainly because she was a literal random on the spot character) I decided to rework his backstory a little bit where my sona is the one caring for him.

So while thinking of ideas like, creating him myself or adopting him from an orphanage, I jokingly suggested finding him in the trash and a certain someone thought it would be a good idea, plus i got hit by a wave of inspiration and so here we are.... =w=

Anyways, here is a small origin story for baby Sparks, Enjoy! :’D

It was pretty late by the time Bloo had finished up for the day, and she was more than ready for home.

"Finally all done for the day! Man i thought it would never end!" She sighed heavily as she finishied packing her stuff, stored the art materials back into the cupboard by the desk and made her way out of the building.

"Freeedoom!" she half yelled as she almost ran outside into the cool evening air, arms spread out.

People were probably staring but honestly Bloo couldn't care less. She was just glad to be all done and finished with the coursework and free to do as she pleased for the rest of the week. It was reading week next week, so she had plenty of time to rest and catch up on her other personal projects.

"Ahh sheesh i'm SO glad its all over! At least for a week heh"

Bloo lowered her arms and let out a long sigh. College work was always so boooooring and took so looooong! Ah well at least its all done for now and she could get a nice longish break!

"Welp, best be heading home then"

Bloo stood for a little moment and just breathed in the fresh cool air before shifting the bag on her shoulder slightly and began making her way back home. It wasn't too far to walk, and it was nearly dark but Bloo didn't really mind. Was quite nice for a change. Plus being a weird looking half skeleton half animal thing tended to be enough to make people keep their distance. All she had to do was give a flash of the ol' fangs and BOOM! Any one lookin for trouble would be gone in an instant!

Heh. Ok, maybe not quite, but still least she could still enjoy her fantasies about it. Bloo prefererd to avoid conflict whenever possible, mainly due to the ah.. side effect of her magic if she got riled up too much.

Shape shifting magic seemed to have that weird effect, at least for her.

Hmm... She noticed it was strangly quiet for this time of the day. Then again at this time of the day people would be at home eating dinner she supposed. Bloo huffed and kept walking, her bare feet clacking against the pavement as she continued on further away from the town. The buildings around her were beginning to get more and more downtrodden and graffiti covered, as she headed further away from the town and towards the outskirts that led to the housing areas outside of the town. Bloo frowned and quickened her pace.

She never liked walking through this place.

It was usually pretty busy and loud with all the people and traffic but thankfully it was fairly quiet at the moment. This was what Bloo liked to call the "twilight zone" where all the party goers would either be still getting ready to go out, or have yet to be drunk enough to be out causing havoc on the streets and she wanted to make sure to be long gone before any of that started.

"Alright, almost outta here" Bloo mumbled to herself. The street lights were starting to turn on, and she continued muttering to herself. It was a habit she had for a while now. Guess it was a quirk of being an introvert.

"Will be home in no time! Spaghetti tonight? Mmm! Maybe a movie too? Havn't had much time for movies, will certainly be nice to be able t-"

Waaahhhh!

She stopped.

....what?

W-whaaaah!

Bloo's ears twitched and she turned her head sharply around, towards a small alleyway.

Was that.... crying?

Waaaahhhh!!

Ok what.

WAAAHHH!

Bloo shifted slightly on her feet, uncertain. Sounds of crying from within an alleyway were always cause for concern, and many of her senses were going off.

Something wasn't right...

"Ah uh...."

W-whaah waaah....

Bloo had no idea what to do.... Standing there awkwardly like a doofus probably wasn't helping either.

She strained her ears again. She could still hear the faint sounds of wailing but...

What.... what if it was just some persons kid crying from within one of the houses? Wouldn't be the first time she's had that kind of encounter.

She let out a slightly nervous laugh.

"Ha.. what am i thinking? Course no one would just up and leave a kid in an alley or something thats just stupid! Besides theres laws and everything against that kind of thing anyway. No one would dare to-"

Woudn't they?

Bloo froze just as she had turned away to keep walking as a small voice in the back of her mind spoke up. She groaned.

"Ugh fiiiiine!"

Bloo quickly turned heel and headed quickly into the alley, albeit cautiously. As she headed further in, the faint muffled crying of the child grew louder, and the alarm bells started going off in Bloo's mind.

Ok. Something was definitely not right here.

As she headed further in and turned a corner, Bloo noticed some giant dumpster bins near a dead end. The wails seemed to be coming from there. Bloo froze on the spot as shivers ran up her spine.

Oh...

Oh no...

Someone didn't...

Bloo quickly approached the dumpsters and to her fear, indeed the wailing got louder as she got closer and approached on the the dumpster bins. The smell was awful, and she almost gagged as she reached out a trembling hand and pushed the big lid off of the bin. She peeked inside and all the fur on her head and tail floofed up in anger and shock.

Inside the bin was a tiny unclothed baby skeleton. He was flailing weakly, and was crying his tiny heart out. Underneath him was some dirty blankets which i could only assume has been wrapped around the child before being shifted by his struggling.

Bloo's soul clenched painfully at the sight and she couldn't stop herself from raising a hand to her mouth. The sight of the poor child was enough to bring tears to her eyes. (Not to mention the smell wasn't helping....)

"Ohh... child..." She could barely contain her emotions.

The baby skeleton seemed to have heard her voice as he stopped crying and looked up at the bigger skeleton hybrid with large blue tear filled eyes.

"Wah?" He whimpered slightly and reached out for Bloo with his tiny hands. "W-waaaah!" He wailed again.

Bloo swore her soul shattered on the spot.

"Ohh you poor thing..."

Bloo did not hesitate to reach in and gather the child out from the bin and into her arms. She left the dirty soggy blankets, since they were definitely of no use to contain a tiny child. She immediately shrugged off her bag and undid the zipper of her orange hoodie and awkwardly tugged it off while cradling the tiny skeleton baby in one arm.

The child, fearful of being abandoned again began attempting to weakly cling to Bloo's shirt, and wailed again and began to struggle as she gently pried his tiny hands off of her shirt. Bloo quickly did her best to shush him as he began crying.

"Hey hey hey its ok! I just need to wrap you up in my hoodie, lil guy! Your freezing cold buddy!" Bloo gently soothed, as she rubbed his tiny skull.

The baby sniffled and looked up at her with large teary eyes.

"W-wah?"

“Heh, y-yeah see Your gonna be alright kiddo, i’m not gonna leave you!” She smiled reassuringly at the baby.

He didn't seem to understand what she said, but then that was to be expected. Still, he seemed to calm down at the sound of her voice, and so Bloo was able to carefully wrap her hoodie around his frail little body. The child squirmed a bit before settling and going still. He continued making small gurgling noises, so Bloo knew he was still awake. However, now that he was bundled up safe in her arms, it suddenly dawned on Bloo exactly what had just happened.

Someone had abandoned this child

Someone had literally dumped them in a trash bin.

Someone had left this child to die.

Bloo was... furious.

More than furious in fact. She was practically enraged.

How could... why.. how... how could someone DO this??

As she stood there seething and thinking about ways in how she could track down the awful goodfornothings who dared to do this to such a tiny innocent baby, said baby suddenly started coughing quite violently snapping Bloo out of her dark thoughts. She looked down at the child worriedly, all anger quickly dissipating in fear for the child's well being.

That’s... not good.

The baby coughed a few times before looking back up at Bloo with those those dark blue eyes. They were a little hard to see against the dark sockets, but she could just about see the tremors in the eye lights, the obvious signs of soul deficiency issues.

Ohh that’s really not good...

"We need to get you to a doctor kiddo" Bloo said shakily. The adrenaline from her recent burst of anger plus the shock of her discovery had died down just a little, enough to make her entire body tremble. She shifted her hold on the child, picked up her bag and began walking quickly out of the alley, and then breaking out into a slight jog as she continued her way back home.

Through the swirling mass of emotions she was feeling right now, the instense anger and the worry, as Bloo jogged all the way back home with the coughing sickly child cradled in her arms, she slowly came to realise this child had no home. No one to take care of him, no one to feed him, or clothe him or to be his parent, and honestly? She didn’t think she could bring herself to take him to an orphanage.

Not after that.

Not after what she had just seen.

Bloo wasn't sure if she would even be able to take on that role herself. Heck she already had so many other things to worry about! So many other life things, like her course... How would she be able to care for a tiny baby, who looked like practically a newborn and keep up on her coursework?

It was a difficult choice...

But there was no way she was ever going to risk someone doing this to the child again. Bloo was determined to give this child a loving home.

Even if she had to make sacrifices for it.

She looked down at the small child. His coughing fit had died down a little, and he was currently still staring up at her. Bloo noticed he had faint light blue freckles on the bridge of his nose(hole) and had orange markings on his eye sockets.

She smiled at him. "Don't worry kiddo, i'll take care of you". The child blinked and let out a small baby noise as he reached out another hand towards Bloo. Her smile widened at the adorable sight and she let him grasp a hold of one of her fingers. The child giggled softly - a sound that melted her already shattered heart - as he tugged and chewed playfully on the finger with a toothless mouth.

"Hehe, gonna have to give you a name little guy. Hmm.. How does Sparks sound?"

The child only nommed on her finger even more with a happy look on his tiny face. Bloo laughed.

"Sparks it is then! You certanly are quite a fiesty little thing arn't you? I think its a good fit!" She grinned as she slowed her pace slightly.

"Bah!" The newly named Sparks suddenly flung his little arms out with small giggle, that quickly dissolved into more coughing, and the smile on Bloo’s face shifted into a worried frown.

"Oh dear... don't worry i'm gonna get you to a doctor as soon as we get home. We're almost there, just hang in there ok?"

Bloo knew the child had no idea what she was saying, and if she was honest it was also a kind of comfort thing for herself as well as the newly dubbed Sparks. She was legit terrified that the child wasn't going to make it, especially now that she was aware his soul was in poor condition going by the state of his eye lights. She quickened her pace, and tightened her hold on the coughing child slightly. Bloo's eye lights narrowed slightly.

She was determined to not let him die.

She growled slightly. And whosoever had abandoned this child and left him to die in a rotten stinking dumpster bin in the back of an alley had better hope they never cross paths with her, lest they want to keep all their limbs attached to their worthless body.

01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?Putting under cut because I’m gonna do every name!

Xyx Black-name - Xyx’s name was originally Pox in pre-game days. I absolutely hated that name, and have no idea why I was doing to call them that, but once when I was walking to work I saw a car numberplate that said ‘XYX’ at the end and I thought that was a much better name than Pox. It stuck. Probably the strangest place I have gotten a name from. All of the surnames are random- Black was just an ash warband I dreamed up in beta days.

Nenqe Furywatch - Nenqe means vulture in an African language (I honestly cannot remember which one, I am sorry.) I like to name my characters vulture-y things. She was made to start up Fierce Warband on EU before the terrible idea of starting VI, so was Fiercewatch for a while- watch came from her protective and nurturing nature, and how she would keep watch of those she cared for. After some shit went down in VI (thank iron I’m out of there) she joined up with Minnar’s Fury warband.

Yaxa Oozemaw - Yaxana, shortened to Yaxa, was a really good World of Warcraft friend. I made her when he got admitted to hospital. Yaxa was always played as a very strong feminine warrior who took no shit, so it was sort of a testament to that character. She bites oozes and is the legionnaire of maw warband.

Apnea Spiritmaul - Apnea is the suspension of breathing, when there is no movement in the lungs. When I made her the idea of her character was that she used mind control and confusion to stop the foe’s lungs from working properly- this was soon after scrapped as I thought that would be a better idea for an air elementalist. She was made to be part of Spirit Warband, and maul was the most blood-legion word I could think of at the time.

Sergi Spiritclaw - Keyboard smash. Made to be in Spirit Warband and claw was the most Blood legion word I could think of.

Tabus The Displacer - I wanted a name beginning with T that sounded bad ass. Tabus came after taking Tea and adding/changing letters.The displacer because he was meant to be a displacer beast fan character but that sort of didn’t go very well- he’s still super cool though.

Mayall Stargazer - Mayall was made to be my fursona at the time in the game. She is named after the galaxy Mayall’s object, and stargazer was my own personal love of the stars, but soon became star warband.

Hoag Starcrusher - Hoag is named after the galaxy Hoag’s object. Made after I had the idea for Star Warband, as the legionnaire Mayall was making Astralasia for. That fell through, but Hoag is still a thing.

Volca Slashthroat - Keyboard smash, Blood legion-iest surname I could think of.

Eris Spiritheart - Eris is the Goddess of chaos and my personal God as a Discordian. Chosen just because I wanted that name. Spirit was originally due to her pure white fur, but became the warband name soon after. Heart because she was imagined as a caring and sweet character.

Arcturis Spirtmaw - Arcturis is one of my favorite hunter pets in World of Warcraft. He was made as a fan-character but soon became the lieutenant of Spirit warband because of his name and close resemblance of Eris. Spirit because he’s a spirit beast in WoW, and maw because the bear’s maw is the most noticeable part of the pet.

Bess Havocether - I wanted a name that reflected her upbringing. As Aetherblades have a very all-race community-thing, Bess came up as something that sounded both human and slightly charr, with a slight asura tinge. Bess was made for the RP guild Havoc warband. Ether because... Aether.

Seamstress Kombucha - Seamstress because she is a seamstress, Kombucha because I like to name my characters after tea!

Klovan - WvW inspired. Also sounded like a nice charr name.

Artois Earthshaker - I literally have 0 idea how to spell his first name, can you tell? Earthshaker from Flight Rising fan-character. His first name was Earthshaker’s original name before the creators decided to go for easier to remember names. I am so glad they did, because I have so much trouble with his name. I’m 99% sure I spelt it wrong there too.

Auxantios - I was looking at Greek names and Auxentios came up- it was taken, so I changed one letter and got that!

Aries The Obstinate - I am an Aries, hurr hurr. I really want to change her title. One day.

Luluzure Vividwrath - BECAUSE, NO, LUCY, I AM NOT CALLING MY CHARR YIFFA BUTTCAKEKangra Silverbrew - Keyboard smash.Calix Glenwalker - Calix was keyboard smash. Glenwalker was stolen from a good friend who gave me his fursona when he stopped being a furry.

Temac Gemstrike - (T)E)M(A)C TEA as my name, And TMC, standing for Too Many Charr. Smart, eh? Gemstrike was random.

Rauch The Brusque - More google names. Apparently it’s German for smoke- even better! I will be changing the title one day. I don’t like it.

Taube Lunargleam - Taube means pigeon. I love pigeons. Lunar for Lunar warband, and Gleam was the only guardian-like word I could think of that looked okay with Lunar.

Kallisti Smokehunt - Kallisti is another Greek/Discordian thingger, meaning ‘The most beautiful.’ She is pretty. It works. Smokehunt was random.

Tuocha Blacksnow - Another tea name! (I spell this one wrong a lot too.) Black because Black warband (There will be a lot of hose now,) and snow because of his snowy white fur and birth in the Shiverpeaks.

Teague Blackblade - Random name, because it has Tea in it. He was originally made for Blade warband in VI, but Blade never happened and I became not a part of the guild anymore, so he stuck and I changed his story to be ex-Black warband.

Worina Blackweld - Keyboard smash/Black Warband/random

Galao Blackcandle - I thought I would have a break from tea names and have a COFFEE NAME. OOOOO. Black Warband. Candle was random.

Malaya Blackheart - Malaya is a place that grows a lot of tea, so.... Tea name. There’s a theme, as you can see.Black Warband/random

Breve Blackeye - Random first name. Think I got it from a name generator. Blackeye is both Black warband and how he is always getting himself into trouble.

Spinel Blackcarve - Spinel (gem) is pretty, Spinel (charr) is pretty. Also the most charr-sounding gem name I could find. Black warband/random.

Kallias Blackgrog - Keyboard Smash / Black Warband / Random

Geier Hearthhew - Geier means vulture. Hearthhew was me trying to think of a name that ould be both Flame and Iron, as I had an RP plot in my head where he was saved from Flame by a bunch of Iron charr. That never happened.

Syn Thunderstalker - Syn... Well, that’s a story. An actual story! One time a long time ago I was hypnotised (yeah, I play around with that,) and I can’t remember exactly what happened, and even if I could, it wouldn’t be safe for this blog, my head somehow made a huge.grey Flame Legion charr named Syn. No idea where the name came from, but that was the name he came from. He became my ‘fursona’ for a while, and took my fursona at the time’s (Shera Thunderstalker) surname. (Please note this was before we knew how bad Flame is to ladies.) All in all the whole character of Syn is pretty much me hating myself at the time I had him as a sona, because a lot of shit went down in that time.

King Tyant - I wanted a charr called King. Tyant was keyboard smash,and no, has nothing to do with tyrant.

Glistertooth - HE HAS GLITTERY TEETH

Falk Doodlesnugs / Blazebane - Falk was random. Doodlesnugs because he was never meant to be serious, he was never meant to have this much effort put into him, I made him to have big colourful hair. But he became serious. He got the effort. Recently he has changed to Blazebane after King was taken back to the Citadel and he vowed to be more of a charr, to get back his father, and to kill his blood-sire before he killed King.

Tiffany Salter - I got a friend to look through her facebook and pull up two names for me. Tiffany Salter was what came up. I like it, because I am salty. Hurr.

Theo the Serpent - Theo because... It’s what I was gonna be called so??? He’s not at all like me so I’m not sure. The serpent because LUXON LORE

Tea Apnea - It’s literally me. I liked the name Apnea, so used that too.

Aries Hellebore - Aries because stars and stuff, Hellebore is a plant, but mostly a google name.

Tea Ursinnehare - It me again. Surname means Anger rabbit which I found hilarious.

Cant be charrsed - I made the character in the PoF beta when I’d already done the story, and I was amused at the name, so kept it.

Most Bizarre League of Legends Puns of 2018

When it comes to coming up with jokes and puns, League of Legends players cannot be outclassed by anyone. There are lots of different types of puns out there especially, so we have gone through the internet with a fine-toothed comb to find the most bizarre, the funniest and the best. These are definitely not the only puns out there for LOL. There are enough of them that you could fill up an entire series of encyclopedias and still need more room.

But these are definitely some of the best ones out there. We’ve also divided them up into eight different categories so that you can choose the ones that you like the best. Some of these are great, some of them are so bad they’re good, but they are all worth reading. Let’s get started.

When Forum Users Are Asked for League of Legends Puns

The first category that we’ve chosen is simply the one showcasing the responses that come when League of Legends players are asked to come up with puns. There are quite a few that have been bandied around the internet for a long time, but what is surprising is that many users are able to come up with some of the funniest puns out there right on the fly.

Part of that is being inspired by the post above you, but some of them are so truly original that all you can do is upvote the post and laugh to yourself. Here is exactly what happens when LOL players are asked to post their best puns in a forum.

Long-Form League Puns

Most of the puns out there are really short one-liners. But then we came across people that really must have thought about the puns that they were going to create and then worked to turn all of the puns that they came up with into a coherent paragraph. That was extremely impressive, and it took a great deal of work, so we thought that they deserved their own category.

That’s why we have listed these long-form puns below, so that you can appreciate them in all of their glory – as well as their corniness – by themselves. These are truly the best of the long-form puns. Whoever came up with these should be proud of their work, and if you search for them, you will be able to find the original posts yourself.

LOL Puns So Bad They’re Good

While compiling the puns for this article, we came across lots of bad ones. Some were just bad so they were chucked out, while others were so bad that we couldn’t bear to discard them. They are like some old horror movies – they are so awful, so terribly bad that they are actually good. It is a fine line when something surpasses that mark, but just take a look at these and see if you don’t agree that they need their own cult following.

These so-bad-they-are-good puns are going to make you groan, but you will also remember them later and hopefully, if we have done our job well, they will elicit a chuckle, even against your own better judgment.

Top Ten League of Legends Puns

Okay, so there had to be a best of category. There are a lot of puns out there, and it is really difficult to narrow the thousands that we went through to find the best. However, these are the top ten of the League of Legends puns that we could find on the internet.

You may not agree that these are the best ever (and it is quite possible that there are many that we failed to unearth in our research) but you will almost certainly agree that they are among the best and that they deserve their own category here.

These are the top League of Legends puns, which encompass the really clever, the original and the simply so-true-they-are-funny categories. Let’s take a look at the top ten.

Hilarious Puns from LOL

Sometimes, puns just make you laugh out loud. This is a highly subjective matter, because what is funny (or punny) to one person, might not be to another. So, these might not be as hilarious for you as they were for us. But if you can relate to them, then we’ll bet that they are going to make you laugh out loud as well. Sometimes, the most hilarious ones were the ones that you least expected, and that’s part of what is included here.

But sometimes, it was originality, or a twist on an old pun that was extremely clever. In any case, they are all terrific puns that deserve to be showcased. There aren’t very many of them, because most of the best ones from this category were placed into the top ten instead. Enjoy the few that are here though because they are great too.

LOL Puns Straight from the Champion’s Mouth

What about puns that come straight from the champion’s mouths themselves? We found a few of those and they were really funny. They might have been just as funny if someone had else been saying them as well, but the fact that you could imagine your champion saying them was what really distinguished them from the pack. With some champions, you know their personalities so well that you simply can imagine them saying such a terribly funny thing or making a terrific pun.

The creators of these puns knew those champions as well as you and us do, and that’s why we have put them into their own category. These puns are all straight from the mouth of the champion that they are about or are referring to in some way.

League Puns in Terrible Taste

Okay, so the fact is, there are some League of Legends jokes out there that are really in terrible taste. For example, there is a joke about Americans not being very good at LOL because they cannot defend their towers. That joke is still unfunny to most Americans so we have not showcased it here. We have also decided to skip the ones that glorify awful things like rape. You might be surprised how many of the puns out there in terrible taste that we simply decided to skip.

But there are also puns that are in terrible taste that are still pretty funny. We think that those puns deserve to be recognized, but that they should come with a warning label so that everyone knows what to expect before they read them. That’s why they have been placed here into their own category.

If you’re swapping main champions; never go from Ashe to Malph.

Why does no one like Annie lategame? Because she’s 18.

Q & A League of Legend Punnery

Finally, we have a category of puns that are sort of Q and A jokes. Most of the good Q & A jokes we came across were included in another chapter of this book. So, we didn’t find very many that were worth including here in this category. However, there were a few and they definitely deserve to be recognized for their originality and hilarity.

These are not usually classified as puns, since they are mostly in joke format, but the pun was there in each of them. Let’s take a look at some of the Q & A puns that we found.

Q: How do you know Alistar is dyslexic?

A: He always goes oom!

What do you do to a toxic Zyra? Repot them.

Q: What do you say when you unintentionally outplay your opponent as Zyra?
