sorry but the difference between chim going to hen's to hide out and buck going home to eddie to get away from it all is staggering. like chim thanks hen for letting him use her shower, buck doesn't apologise for falling asleep. chim leans on the kitchen island comfortable in his best friend's home, buck walks in and puts his shoed feet up on the couch without a moment's hesitation. hen makes chim tea as a host would almost, eddie gets buck water yes but as an act of service not because buck wouldn't feel comfortable just going and getting it himself. because the difference is hen's house is chimney's best friend's house but eddie's house is buck's home.

It really does make me wonder what else has been shot down by Fox. Because buddie is obviously the thing that we’re more able to clearly connect dots on even before Oliver started saying anything about any of it, but you know it’s not the only thing, we just don’t have the threads to pull on for anything else

Tease tidbit Tuesday

A bit of my hangover AU that I wanted to get done before season seven but I've barely started.

“This is an emergency situation here, Buck! We can’t remember anything from last night, Albert’s missing, Eddie’s missing and my wedding is in-“ Chimney checks his watch, “forty-nine hours!”

Hen stumbles through the open door, holding a bottle of water like it might be the saviour to all of her problems. “Please tell me you know something Buck. Anything.”

Buck scrubs his face, digesting the last thirty seconds so slowly he should be embarrassed but he doesn't have the brain capacity to care right now.

“Eddie’s missing?” He says instead, wracking his brain for any memory from the night before. They’d had drinks on the roof, headed out for food and then… nothing.

“I’m not missing.” Eddie grumbles.

They all swing around towards Buck’s bed, which- ouch- and spot Eddie lying face down in the sheets.

“Can you guys stop shouting please?”

“Only Chimney is shouting.” Buck says, breathing a sigh of relief that his best friend is safe and… in his bed.

Okay, that’s a mystery for later, when his brain doesn't feel like mush.

“So one problem solved!” Hen smiles, “See Chim, everything will be okay. Any chance Albert is in there too?”

“I think I’d notice if someone was in my bed.” Eddie says, rolling over and sitting up before turning pale and slowly lying back down.

“That’s my bed actually,” Buck says, fidgeting with his hands, he twists the ring on his finger absentmindedly.

Eddie shoots back up, this time managing to stay vertical as he climbs out and leans against the bedside table. “Why am I in your bed?”

The idea that Tommy, a closeted gay man who was desperately trying to fit in in a hyper macho and discriminatory environment, isn't allowed to have any growth from when he was over compensating and was a dick to Chim really pisses me off. He literally had canonical growth to the point he was going for drinks with Chim and Hen in Bobby Begins Again and they got him a fancy leaving cake.

Why isn't he allowed to grow and be better? Because he's white? Because he "gets in the way of buddie"? Because no one is allowed to say and change at all over a decade?

Like this is a queer fandom and I'd bet a lot of money that a ton of people in this fandom said and did things they weren't proud of when they were younger, especially before they came out so they could try and hide it.

I know this is quite a young fandom too but like, it was literally only a decade ago when "gay" was an insult at school and doing anything that could be get you accused of being gay was fucking social suicide. You guys have no idea how lucky you are that people at least get called out for that shit now cause they didn't when I was a kid. I would have done almost anything to just be ignored, let alone accepted, rather than being openly bisexual.

So yeah, I think Tommy is allowed to fucking change as a person because Bobby, Chim and Hen came into his life and allowed him to stop repressing. Stop being such fucking assholes. You aren't any better than him, and frankly the way some of you behave makes the way Tommy acted when he was first in the show look like a fucking saint. Touch some grass.

One thing I hate so much about 911 is the LACK OF APOLOGIES.

Bobby shoves Buck against the wall in s1 & it’s written off as acceptable bc Buck is being nosy, like being annoying is a good excuse to put your hands on an employee.

Buck apologized for the lawsuit & not being around in s3, but Bobby never apologized for holding him back (& lying about it) & Eddie never apologized for screaming at him in the grocery store.

Chim assaulted Buck in his apartment before going after Maddie, and it was never addressed. (Also, does anyone remember if Chim apologized for keeping the Daniel secret from Buck but not the bomber in that one episode? I genuinely can’t remember, I haven’t watched the first seasons in like, a year.)

Also, does Maddie ever apologize for telling their parents about Buck being in therapy? I know they fought about it, but it was also tied in with the Daniel secret (which was fucked but they talked about that) and I can’t remember, but that was kind of shitty, too.

Buck maybe purposefully gets rough with Eddie and definitely hurts his ankle during the game. Sure, we see him feeling bad about it & Maddie scolding him, but no actual apology to his best friend, not even a mention of one.

Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head, & idk man, people are flawed, and I know that these characters aren’t perfect, but part of that is apologizing & making amends when you’re wrong. So much stuff is just glanced over to keep the story moving, and I get it but I’m not a huge fan of it. They all have this great, family bond, but how sustainable is that when you’re not owning up to your mistakes and making it right when you hurt someone?

But he feels the same way he did in his kitchen trying to pretend he could feel like a normal human again if he just made it through a couple more days while Buck kept trying to get him to stop lying.  Buck always knows when to call bullshit on what Eddie's saying.  Buck's gonna call bullshit now.  Eddie can see it in his eyes.  And it's weird because Buck is never the one to pick a fight.  But there's a fire in his gaze that leaves Eddie scared, if he's truly honest.  Maybe he won't have to make it through the wedding because it seems like everything is about to crash and burn right now.

Just finishing up Season 5 of my 9-1-1 watch through and I, personally, am SHOCKED that Lucy and Ravi being besties isn't more of a thing (both in the show and in fanon). Like, I know they've only had about two and a half scenes together but I can just tell they spend all their free time at the firehouse bitching about the main five.
