"It's not there, we've already looked!"

Evie half-heartedly kicks in Flynn's direction, but he pulls his thigh away just in time, holding the playstation controller up and out of her reach.

"Open the map," Jakob suggests, pointing to Evie's side of the split screen.

"I've already tried that," she grumbles, but does it again. "Let's just leave her."

"No!" Flynn protests, "We can't just leave her in this pod things, that's so mean!"

"Well, what else are we gonna do? We're too stupid to find some god damn keys!"

They look at each other for a long moment, a silent agreement passing between them.

Jakob stands up from the bed with a serious expression. "I'll go get Mom."

"What is it?" Max asks, still wiping his hands on his shirt as he enters Evie's room. Man, it smells like teenager in here; he opens a window before doing anything else.

The triplets all look at him with similar "Mama please" eyes which still work even at sixteen. "Can you help us with our game?"

Max can't help but laugh. "Sure. What's the problem." They scramble apart to make space for him in Evie's nest as he sits down. Flynn hands him his controller instantly.

"So, we've got to free this girl in the pod from a bunch of mindflayers, they put a worm in our heads and probably in hers too. And we need a key or something to open the pod that she's in, and we can't find it!"

"I wanted to leave her, but Flynn wants to free her so he can romance her!" Evie taunts her brother. Max intercepts when he reaches over to pull her hair.

"We've already tried looking everywhere, but can't find the keys," Jakob says.

Max takes a second to familiarize himself with the controls; it's still intuitive.

"Ok, let's go," he says, sending the character running. Flynn's character looks very human, with brown curls like his. Evie's character, meanwhile, is an enormous, muscular creature with horns and pink hair. Figures.

The kids talk him through what they've already tried; it takes Max only about three minutes to find the key they missed before, prompting groans from all three of them.

"How did you do this?!"

Max just gives a shrug and a smirk. "Magic. ...and tons of practice when I was your age."

Evie huffs, but then leans into Max for a second. "Thanks."

"Thank you, Mama," Flynn and Jakob echo in unison.

"You're welcome," Max replies, and continues on with the rest of his afternoon feeling quite smug, actually.

I was going through old pictures on my computer and I found screenshots of a post with DBZ Abridged quotes that @zipp0flare​ sent me years ago. And a quote just stood out. So, here we are.  Poor Shorty. He lost his LSD. Pidge isn’t doing much to comfort him, other than patting his back, but. Well.  RIP Shorty’s milk jug of LSD.  Press F to pay respects? But. Why did he have the LSD? Where did he get it? What made him drop it?

Oh.  That’s why he dropped it.  I think Chip shot near him and startled him.  Oof.

Family Tree Headcanons

I’m the kind of person who often holds multiple contradictory headcanons because I like exploring possibilities. Within the space of this blog, I use headcanons for some internal consistency, but even so, I treat threads as independent and may play with different headcanons thread to thread. That being said, I wanted to lay out a ‘default’ for this blog/my own writing regarding the Snicket family tree.

ABC Generation The family tree starts here. This could mean C was the first Snicket to join VFD, much as R was the latest in a long line of duchesses, but was the first VFD member. But Lemony mentions in EE that he learned the code from his grandfather, who learned it in turn for at least four generations (two grandfathers) back. And the map of the city which includes “sketches of costumes” and VFD tunnels, has had “twelve previous owners”. Whether or not it was formally VFD, Snickets have been involved in codes and conspiracies for way before ABC. 

I personally headcanon ABC as brothers, possibly identical triplets (similar to the Denouements. Twins/triplets skips a generation and re-appears in Jacques and Kit). Charles’ name is canonically known. In previous threads I’ve used Aaron as E’s uncle and I might stick with that. Though I also like Abraham for its literal meaning (”father of many” as the eldest of this massive Snicket clan) and for the VFD parallels of the story of Abraham and Isaac, as a father willing to sacrifice his son on faith. B I headcanon as Benjamin. The reason his whereabouts are uninteresting is he never joined VFD. He was just never interested. Benjamin Snicket lived out his life having a normal, mundane job like being a florist or something and never got caught up in the codes and plots his brothers were into. 

DEF Generation I’ve personally established F as Fiona in a thread before and I’m sticking to that. I like the idea of Fiona Widdershins being named after someone two generations earlier. E, is of course, the Snicket mother. I’ve been personally calling her Esther in my head but I’m not locked in on that. I do accept the common fanon that D is the parent of the Anwhistle brothers (see below) with one eyebrow and ear. However, I will typically not be following the other common theory that this is also Ishmael’s student. Ishmael’s student was orphaned, and C lived long enough to meet and teach Lemony and Kit. Personal headcanon name: Delilah.

GHI Trio I will be following common fanon that  G and I are Gregor and Ike Anwhistle, taking their last name from their (unnamed) father. This does mean that Gregor and Ike are first cousins to Jacques, Kit and Lemony. VFD families are often interconnected. Some people theorize H is Hector, who is a VFD member. But Hector’s interactions with the Snickets in both VV and WCTBATH? don’t really fit a ‘first cousins’ vibe for me. There are enough repeated initials in VFD to go around. No locked in name (Heather? Hailey?). Tempted to say H is named Helvella after a family of mushrooms.

Connection to Beatrice It’s mentioned in the Wide Window that Ike is also Beatrice’s cousin, and whistling is a family trait. There is a way for this to be true without Lemony and Beatrice being related, if Beatrice is Ike’s cousin on his father’s side of the family. This, again, gives a neat way for the Baudelaire family to get involved in VFD and repeates the motif of layered VFD families. Betrand (as stated by Poe in TPP) was an orphan, so might have taken on the Baudelaire family name, as Jacob did for the Snickets. This does mean Lemony and Beatrice, while themselves unrelated, would share cousins. (It makes me think of stories where sets of sisters marry sets of brothers).

JKL Jacques, Kit and Lemony. The classic Snickets. Firmly established in canon.

MNO I do not think O is Olaf, it does not make sense given how the characters interact and talk about one another for him to be cousins with JKL. M and O being Miranda and Olivia Caliban is more plausible (definitely not in TV-based threads where J and O are a couple) but even in book verse I don’t think there’s any indication Lemony and Jacques interact with O in a familial way. This is something I might use in a thread-by-thread basis, but as a rule of thumb MNO will be different characters.

i was more of a louis girl so i remember more about him and his things. plus as a youtube larrie i dont think i ever heard about harry living with many ppl i def need to read more because i def missed many things because i was an idiot child 😭.

i remember the triplet theory 😭 honestly its true that eleanor used to look different on a lot of pictures back then but i think its just bc they were editing her nose lol. and then when people would see clip and see her nose they'd think it's a different girl.

i remember most eleanor/louis moment a bit too vividly cause they were analyzed so extensively lol. honestly it just never felt organic to me. and its funny that the story of them meeting up was supposedly cause she worked at the bakery harry worked at lmao.

tbh i just believe the theory that she was the daughter of an exec (rich) and it was convenient because she wanted to be a model. definitely became friends over the years. if it turns out that he really dated her then he seems like a pretty cold and emotionally detached guy. every time he's been asked about her in interviews he seemed so annoyed by it. and she doesn't really fit in most of his song lyrics (maybe i'm still delulu)

1. Are you named after anyone? Nope! My fun fact of the day is that I'm a triplet, and my name is Taylor and only Taylor bc it sounded good with my other two sister's names.

2. When was the last time you cried? I really only like cry cry about once a year, but I went to Megan Rapinoe's last uswnt game on Sept. 24th and cried when she got subbed out for the last time

3. Do you have any kids? Nope, and I don't want any either. I'm gonna be the cool aunt

4. What sports do you play/have played? I played soccer for 12 years! But I haven't played in almost 5 now (Jesus where has the time gone) and need to get back into it. I just fill the void with watching now lol

5. Do you use sarcasm? Yes, too much maybe

6. What's the first thing you notice about people? Honestly people's outfits I think

7. What color are your eyes? Blue, but not like a piercing blue. I think they can look more gray or green depending on what I'm wearing

The triplets being triplets. Entertaining themselves and making space for each other, maybe all of them huddled in Evie's nest while they each do their own thing but all of them next to each other

It was suspiciously quiet in the house for the morning of the 24th of December. Isabel and Riley were finally at the age where teenagers loved sleeping in more than anything, and Jasper had fallen back asleep in the baby sling around Max’s chest, his little head leaning against his clavicle. Max kissed his forehead gently, and allowed himself a few seconds to just breathe in the silence of the house. Through the living room window, he could see the New House, all blinds still drawn, nobody awake yet either.

The fact that the triplets and Luna (who had stayed overnight at the Old House with Evie) were still asleep seemed almost impossible, and Max could feel the creeping anxiety in the back of his brain about it. With this many pups, silence was not always a good thing. So he chose to investigate.

The door to both Flynn’s and Jakob’s rooms stood open, and the only one snoozing in Flynn’s bed was Elfie Cat, blissfully curled up in an indentation in the cozy duvet.

Outside of Evie’s door, Max stood and listened for a few seconds. There was movement, but it was all very, very quiet. The door was slightly ajar, and Max gently pushed it open just a little further.

He didn’t know what he was expecting, but the scene that unfolded before him was so peaceful and sweet that it drove tears into his eyes immediately.

The kids had dragged all available blankets, pillows and duvets in the middle of the room, making one big nest that could fit them all, and were all four snuggled up inside it. Evie and Flynn were playing on their switches, Jakob was, of course, reading (he had a small selection of books next to him, he liked to rotate through them), and Luna was curled up not unlike the cat, her black hair splayed over her face as she slept some more with her head on Flynn’s knee.

Max immediately felt himself become emotional, tears welling up in his eyes as he tried to close the door as quietly as he could and sneak away without them hearing him so they would stay in their peaceful little nest for a bit longer.

I consider that Ayato and Laito they have the closest connection with each other, apart from other bros , including Kanato,( which is upsetting for me) cause is it just me, or he seems to be "abandod" by his siblings? I mean whenever Laito crosses Ayato's path, (or vv) they start to do some strange shit together, or they argue/etc. That's kinda funny :D But there's no such actions with Kanato :^c

I feel the exact same way!! There are so many Ayato/Laito bro moments in both the games/drama CDs but Kanato often seems completely left out of the picture. :c

which fic did you think would get a bigger reaction/audience than it got?

maybe my triplet!peter fic “relative wonders” bc it’s precursor, “lookalike”, was vv popular and it was kind of a spin-off to that. no matter the numbers of it though, i’m still very much proud of it.

which fic got a better reaction than you expected? 

definitely “almost everything”. the reader being on her period is a pretty standard plot for most imagines so i wasn’t expecting a common idea like this one to blow up like it did. and it’s still my most popular imagine to date.

which fic is your funniest? 

it really depends on your sense of humor. if you enjoy really stupid and easy jokes to laugh at then i would recommend “rip”. i literally wrote it in the middle of the night and it felt like a fever dream. if you enjoy a more fluffy, teasing type of comedy style than either “public display of erection” or “confidential” would be at the top of my list.

which fic is your darkest/angstiest? 

two immediately come to mind. either my raul fic that i discontinued, titled “necessary” or my amnesia niall fic “two million minutes”. both discuss pretty heavy topics so please read at your own risk.

which fic is your absolute favourite? 

this one is tough. it would be between my bookworm series with raul (which starts here) or undertow, which was a collaboration between myself and the lovely @5-seconds-of-mendes featuring shawn and an atlantean!reader. it’s on a lil break right now but we have managed to get pretty far into the story. if you’re interested in reading it you can click here for the first chapter.

which fic is your least favourite? 

probably this platonic fic with niall and shawn. don’t get me wrong, i love the platonic universe i just feel like this piece was one I could have executed better. it’s very choppy and rushed, so once again, read at your own risk.

which fic has your favourite line/exchange/paragraph?

i am still very proud of my overall writing in my imagine “ghost”. i’m not sure if there is any specific excerpt that i like out of it i just think my flow and tone were very consistent throughout it.

which fic have you re-read the most?

“breakfast in boxers” and “charcoal kisses” are two pieces of mine i always find myself going back to. they’re definitely contenders of the soft™️ department if you’re looking for something to curl up and read.

which fic would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time?

this is another difficult one. i would recommend a tom series which i have just started called “all shook up”. the link should bring you to the first chapter if you click it. i think it is some of the best writing i have done yet and really shows my author’s voice and style. especially if you go back to my earlier fics after reading it, i think it will show majorrrrr progression.

which fic are you most proud of? 

though i mentioned earlier i decided to discontinue it, i really am proud of what i did write in the “necessary” series. and again, @5-seconds-of-mendes and i did write a kickass story with “undertow”. from the plot to the character development, there’s nothing about it that i don’t love.
