Ngl, most of my fav fics that I've written are the ones that I haven't published yet. But I'll go with the current WIPs posted on ao3 :)

House of Memories (dpxdc, Dick/Danny)

This fic comes to my mind first. I think one of the reasons why I have a soft spot for this one, in particular, is because this is the first fic that I felt I truly succeeded in writing angst. My first MCD fic as well. And I remember I've always wanted to write AU Soulmates for so long and this was the result. Plus I love Dick and wanted to give him more attention. Bonus is that I haven't seen many dpxdc fics where it is set to Dick is Robin.

Legacy (dpxdc, Danny & Jason. Biodad!Jason)

I love Jason. And I also love the thought of exploring Father-Son relationship between Jason and Danny (I'm used to reading deaged Danny, but there's something cathartic writing when it's Danny as a teenager while Jason, in his mid30s, exasperated at his son. That's the dynamic I want to explore) No joke that I immensely enjoy writing about Jason feeling guilty of not being there for Danny (and not knowing he existed). Last I checked, the draft for the next chapter of Legacy is around 4k words (I just havent gotten around editing it). Plus it's set where Jason is Batman, a trope that is not much explored in the dpxdc.

Two of a Kind (dpxdc, Jason & Danny, Halfa!Jason)

I will always be grateful to Kaida for bringing this idea to life of Jason being the second Halfa. I love the idea of Danny having a trusted adult he can come to this time. There's so many I want to gush about this, especially Jason's complicated issues with Vlad. You'll find Jason in this fic interesting because he has different priorities while feeling guilty at the same time. Plus we get some flashbacks (*nods to Red Hood: Lost Days*). Plus I also ADORE where this fic is set to Post-Infinite Crisis.

Dynasty | Loving You Was Like Dancing without Music (ATLA, Sokka/Zukko)

I remember the intense research I did for this fic. I have a separate word doc of writing the history and Fire Nation "legal documents". Even got 3 docs of flashbacks for Sokha, Mai, and Zuko (overall wc: 5k). And the fic is inspired from my fav kdrama show at all times so that's one of the reasons why I enjoy writing this fic.

Danny the Intern (dpxdc, GEN)

Ngl, I debated back and forth with this one because I have mixed feelings about this fic nowadays, but I can never forget the intense planning and outline for this fic and the 2 months I spent writing the buffer chapters just so I could be ahead of this fic. Part of why I enjoy writing this fic is that it's a Case fic. A mystery going on that I'm excited to eventually reveal, which I've been keeping my mouth shut for 11 months now. Currently, ch 6-11 have an overall 13k words. If it goes according to plan, Danny the Intern fic will be updated either this halloween or next month (for the 1 yr anniversary of DtI)

I'm not sure why my brain keeps going back to MyStreet/Minecraft diaries every year, but it does, and here's the first product of it!

It's Garroth from an old AU of mine!

Description and Explanation under cut!

OK! So this is from an old AU that I made originally back in 2018, then revisted and revised in 2020 during quarantine. The basic premise is that when Lucinda was teleporting herself, Kim(though in this i replaced her with Vlad for no reasonother than i liked Vlad more than Kim), and Garroth in that one episode of When Angel's Fall(when they all get found and they have to split up) she accidentally(somehow) teleports Garroth to the MCD universe!

There he wanders around, becoming a guard and trying to find a way back.

He's on his own for the first year, becoming a traveling guard and wandering from village to village going by the name Griffin(b/c he learned the hard way that this was an alternate universe and that Okasis is after his counter part). He ends up hearing about how a town named Phoenix Drop needs more guards temporarily until an issue with a shadow knight is resolved(when Laurence randomly appeared then disappeared). From there on, he's a 'main' character in the mcd season one story!

He doesn't tell anyone he's a werewolf right away though, instead choosing to keep the hood of his guard outfit up(parallels to mcd!garroth that definitely doesn't go unrealized by Griffin). The reason for this is slightly shown in my other two sketches.

In this sketch, Griffin is running from a village/mob(group of people) after they discover he's a werewolf. See, during his first year in mcd, he experienced a lot of discrimination for being a werewolf(b/c werewolf discrimination was way worse in mcd). The whole reason hes a "traveling" guard(besides the fact that hes looking for a way back home) is because he keeps getting run out of villages or someone gets close to learningthe truth and he gets scared and runs away before anything happens. He tries to hide the fact that he was a werewolf, but it was hard since there wasn't any real time between him becoming a werewolf and him being transported to the mcd universe for Aaron and Melissa to properly teach him to hide his ears and tail to blend in with humans(hence the hood).

This sketch is when he gets his second scar(both are from his time traveling in the mcd universe). A fellow guard saw his ears and tail and immediately attacked, causing a big enough scene that the villagers around them noticed too, and started yelling.

As I'm sure you can guess, hes got a lot of his self confidence issues from mystreet s1 back(this includes his stutter). Despite everything though, he's still the same big hearted goofy he is in Mystreet. Just a bit more cautious.

Childe has a Geo Vision. He will not let that distract him from stealing the Geo Archon’s Gnosis.

pre-getting together kind of. it’s not really about zhongl and childe, it’s more about zhongli and the god he served before he became an archon. kind character study for zhongli in a way. it’s so good, seriously, go read it please!

There are two things that make Childe who he is–one is his Archon, with her icy fingers and arctic voice and eyes that see into every part of him. The other, as it turns out, is Zhongli.

Cute, half of him swoons. Frivolous, the other, more rational half says. Childe listens to the latter. He’s here on a mission, not a vacation. Anything not pertaining to the gnosis is a distraction. Childe doesn’t need anything like this in his own life.

Then he meets Zhongli, and both halves of him simultaneously go whatthefuck.

It is a sudden and quick understanding; one minute Childe is sitting before Zhongli, consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlour, perpetual daydreamer and the next Childe is sitting before Rex Lapis, God of Contracts.

He’s not sure what triggers the cogs in his mind to start, but once he does, it’s irreversible.

Childe looks up at the sky, as Zhongli rambles on about the origins of a specific chilli in their stew.

The sky is dark with stars.

The air of Liyue is humid with warmth.

Zhongli is Rex Lapis.

How Levin is Related To Garroth

So, I've been on Aphmau Tumblr for a while; I loved Aphmau growing up in the early days of Youtube and how she shaped me as a person. You may not have to like her or support her but there is no denying that she's shaped all of us as people. In any case, I want to talk about something that's been bugging me for YEARS. And that's the Levin-Garroth debate.

For people who weren't around when Aphmau was uploading MCD, you might not understand. So, disclaimer if you haven't watched the original MCD series because there will be spoilers.

I and maybe others have been confused on why exactly Levin looks so much like Garroth. And that's not only to the fandom, in the actual canon of the series, everyone brings up the fact that Garroth and Levin's similiarities are uncanny. Levin even says in the second episode of season 2, "Everyone here says I look like Garroth, heh...I just hope that they don't expect me to live up to his reputation..."

So, within the series canon, everyone thinks that Levin looks like Garroth. So, what does that mean? Well, in season 2 episode 100, after Aphmau finds out that she's actually Irene. She says this, "Bloodline? Wait, does that mean that Levin is my great-great-grandson?" Which Hyria says,

"No, Irene was once a human many centuries ago, she had family, and she did a great job keeping them around her. Irene never had any kids of her own, but she did want children."

Irene never had children, which means we can rule out the theory that Irene and Esmund ended up together. But that first part, Irene had a family, which means, she had siblings and a mother and father. So, what does that say? Well, if we can dissect Irene's family tree, then that means that we can figure out how Garroth and Levin are related.

Most of this is my own canon, I won't give any names to characters that haven't been introduced. Most of the information that I'm saying are inspired of Jess's personal life, which she does in her own stories.

Irene's mother -- Irene's father (We can say that they were magic welders since that's the only explanation for Irene's gift. And as we know within the series, if you prefect your magic enough you can slow your own aging I.E. Hyria and Lucinda).

Then there's her brother, which isn't canon but for sake of story, let's say Irene has a brother. He has to also be a magic welder, because his parents are both; so, let's say he married a woman and ends up having a daughter.

Irene's niece, she ends up marrying into the Ro 'Meaves', centuries before O'Kahsis is born. In which she has a son,

Irene's great-nephew, he ends up marrying a woman. Who gives birth to...you guessed it. Garte. Who marries Zannah.

Which explains why Hyria and Zannah are so close; if Irene was still around when Irene's niece was born then she was around when Garte was born. Since Hyria and Irene were so close, I'm sure that her family knew about Hyria; considering her family as well.

Making them close by the time that Garroth, Zane, and Vlad were born.

Of course, this is all a fan theory and speculating. The reason why I had it to where Irene had a brother is because in IRL Jess has a half-brother.

So, what about Levin exactly? Well, remembered how I said that Irene's brother was married and had Irene's great-nephew? Well, he also had a daughter. Who ended up have a son; guess who that son was? The old lord of Pheonix Drop.

Phoenixes are supposed to represent rebirth, magic, renewal, and safety. Well, what does Aphmau do the moment she steps into that world? She's rebirthed, as a new person with magic and an instinct to protect people.

On top of all of that, it's canon that Gate and the Old Lord are magic welders; how else would Gate know magic? It's because Garte was born with it and taught Zannah how to use it along with Zane and Garroth.

Then what about Garroth? Doesn't that mean he's technically related to Irene? Well, yes. I know that probably sounds gross because Aphmau is technically supposed to be Irene herself. However, that's not how that works; when someone is reincarnated, that doesn't mean they're related to them. So, we're in the clear without any incest. (Thank God).

So, does that mean that Garroth and Levin are distant cousins? Yes, it's the only reason to explain why the two look so alike. Genes also play a big part in it as well.

Let's say, Irene's brother has the same auburn brown that she does. Then that means, he'd have to marry someone that carries the blue eye trait. To counter act the brown, Irene's family needs to be carrying the blue-eyed trait.

Then, both siblings have to be able to have the carrying trail. And since Irene's brother had both had daughter and a son, the daughter would carry the blue-eyed trait. Since the son ends up having another son, who ends up marrying someone who has blue eyes or carries it. Which passes it onto Levin.

On top of that, we already know that Garte has blue eyes which carried to both Zane and Garroth.

I know this was a lot to unpack in a single post, but this is the only way to explain why the two looked so similar. And not choke it up to ship bait. Which was probably the intention in the beginning. However, I'm sure that if Jess got to finish MCD Rebirth she would end up explaining it.

The ships of MCD have always been a troubling prospect for me, considering how many of them are straight up toxic or confusing.

In the rewrite, I’d like to have these be the new ship changes (for now)

Laurance + Aphmau

Garroth single, or ends up with Azura.

Aaron is erased from much usefulness and stays alone with the memory of his late wife.

Brendan never has an interest in Nana.

Kenmir never has a thing for Cadenza.

Zane has someone who loves him and wants him to change. I want to explore that dynamic.

Garroth’s mom, (who’s name has slipped my mind) is truly in love with Vlad’s father, and has planned to run away with him one day when Garte becomes less of a problem.

Menphia + Enki (how come every divine warrior had to be into Irene? Unrealistic. Boo- tomatoes tomatoes, throwing tomatoes)

I’m unsure about Dante and Nichole, because it’s good drama, but it distracts from the overall narrative. So consider that up in the air.

Sasha and Kenmir are star crossed lovers. Emmalyn takes a long time to break into the picture. I’m thinking Sasha will still find a way to try and be with Kenmir, because they couldn’t corrupt her memories of him, but eventually he knows he must give her up. Angst! My dears

Day 3: Vlad says goodbye, Will says hello

Unfortunately today Vlad left me, he has to return to work but will be back on the 26th for the last two games in my Kazan adventures. We were both ready for a long sleep and didn't emerge from our beds until 10am, a bit of a late breakfast and then a bit of lazing around the apartment before heading off to Bauman Street for a dirty McD's and saying good bye to Vlad when he got his bus back to Tolyatti. I'm going to really miss Vlad it's only been 36 hours together but I could not of wished for a better partner in crime, he's very similar to Rob in many ways, fairly laid back, easy going, he's a top bloke and I can't wait to meet him again.

Omo met up with us in McD's before saying goodbye and later Omo and I headed to Top Hop bar for a drink or two from their very big selection of beers, Omo doesn't drink alcohol so he was on the coca-cola.  Later a guy from the group Will joined us there. I'd say we watched the first game of the day but we didn't we were all too busy talking and watching it out of the corner of our eye.

Will and I got on with like a house on fire, we both liked a beer or three and when Omo left to go back to his apartment we carried on drinking meeting up with Omo, Chris and too many others to mention from the group at the Fan Fest for the Mexico vs Germany game.  I'll put this in here but please take it as read that as the night went along Will and I got through a fair amount of beer so much so that when a Russian Rock band playing English songs came on stage the pair of us were straight to the rail jumping up and down, attempting to dance around and head banging.  It didn't take long for the cameraman to spot the drunken Aussie and Brit and show us on the big screen on a couple of occasions (you can see us on the screen in the photo).  For an Aussie he was good enough not to mention the cricket, he is in Kazan with is Dad doing to Venue Package like me and he just got lucky to get his home nation as his first match.

So then Germany vs Mexico, who predicted that one then?

If you just said "me", you're a bloody liar unless you are Mexican and even then you didn't really believe it.

It's a World Cup we should know better by now than to write teams off and to be fair to them Mexico were great on 2014, they only came 2nd to Brazil in group A on goal difference and I remember the first game they played where two perfectly good goals were written off that would probably of put them as group winners.

Now Brazil, we can't have another shock, they are just too damn good, well yet again no one told Switzerland. To be honest they don't play nice football and I'm not a fan but they got a goal and defended against the Brazil onslaught that pretty much hit them for the entire match.  Unfortunately for Brazil they just couldn't get more than one themselves, I still think Brazil will win the group just the second seeds held on to a draw. Switzerland sorry I might be biased as it's horrible football but I still don't see you winning the group and I'm still not sure you'll get out of it.

Today a taxi driver we flagged down tried to charge us 500 for what was a 50 journey, f*&king scum bag, in the end he got 300 from me and Will and as I got out I told him exactly what I thought he was, he may not speak English but my language was base enough for him to get the point.  As a result I'm now only using Yandex or Uber so he's one journey up and him and all fellow taxi drivers not on those taxi apps have all lost out. Around the world taxi drivers are complaining about these apps, well sorry you bring it on yourselves.  But just following our bad experience, Will and I were in the queue for beers and a Russian man in front turned round and gave us a bud each (500 rub total) and said greetings and friendship from Russia.  You see there and good and bad people everywhere, I shock his hand and said thank you loads of times but it somehow doesn't seem enough for such a lovely act.

So next time I'm in the Fan Fest I'm going to pass it on and buy a random stranger a beer.

Basically in my rewrite (I say as if I'm writing any of this down properly) Gartes a shadow knight due to the whole lore drop where "he saw something he wasn't supposed to see" and became sick in original mcd. Like I was so convinced he was a shadow knight and then it never gets brought up again hEllp.
