I have to post about this like every month or so but book recommendation for my dearest mutuals and followers:

In the past few months Abigail seriously became one of my favourite books ever. It's classic hungarian literature and I often mention it as the "Paul Street Boys for girls".

The book takes place during WWII and it follows a spoiled 14 year old girl, Gina, the only daughter of a widowed general. He sends his child away to an all-girls, religious and strict boarding school without any explanation. Gina is introduced to her new school and classmates who tell her about the magical Abigail: a statue in the garden who makes all the tears dissapear. If there's something wrong just write a letter to her and help will come. Gina, as stubborn as she is, doesn't believe in stupid games like Abigail... but she has no idea how much she will need the help of the statue very soon.

Now however this sounds no, Abigail is not a fantasy book but I can't give away much without spoiling. Abigail has a movie and an INCREDIBLE musical adaptation which is like a cult classic in hungarian musical theatre culture but I'm pretty sure none of those were ever translated to english.

So just read it if you can seriously guys the hyperfixation is bad and I need more people talking about this masterpiece

TASK #2: MISSÕES

As missões desempenham um papel fundamental no andamento da ordem e da manutenção entre a relação dos deuses para com os semideuses. Com as elas é possível cultivar o equilíbrio do mundo mortal e a vivência dos semideuses, são situações vitais para a proteção das duas realidades. É o modo dos deuses mostrarem para os filhos que eles são necessários, que são importantes e que a coragem deles é valiosa para o Olimpo.

É ativo em uma missão que o semideus conseguirá provar sua coragem, sua lealdade e suas habilidades. O jeito mais fácil de conseguir atrair a atenção de um deus para receber uma benção, por exemplo, é através disso: do esforço e dos riscos. Enfrentar desafios perigosos, superar obstáculos que parecem impossíveis, lutar contra monstros e atingir objetivos impostos para aquela atividade mostra a competência dos semideuses; Imprevistos acontecem, claro, às vezes as missões não são concluídas e voltar vivo já é uma vitória.

Para a defesa do acampamento é sempre bom ter semideuses empenhados nessas atividades, afinal, é adquirindo experiência nessas aventuras externas que os campistas conseguem proteger o lar em que vivem. Cada missão bem-sucedida contribui para a segurança e estabilidade do local sagrado, garantindo que seja um refúgio seguro para os semideuses em meio ao caos do mundo que conhecem.

Já para os deuses, as missões são uma maneira de influenciar diretamente no destino dos semideuses e, por extensão, o curso dos eventos no mundo mortal. Nenhuma designação de tarefas é por acaso, sempre são específicas para um propósito maior.

Na vida de um semideus, é sem dúvida uma parte importante. Muitos esperam anos pela glória de sair em missão, mais ainda em liderar uma dessas. Mas quando o momento chega… é uma experiência única.

E a atividade da vez envolve justamente isso. Cada semideus do acampamento recebeu um kit incomum: um pequeno caderno com capa laranja, uma caneta de tinta preta, uma folha de louro, um isqueiro e uma conta de argila sem pintura. A instrução de Quíron era simples:

PASSO 1: Procure um lugar calmo onde você não vá ser incomodado e escreva no papel os sentimentos mais frequentes que lhe atingiram quando você foi no que considera a missão mais importante de sua vida.

PASSO 2: Acenda o isqueiro e queimei a folha de louro.

Você será transportado de volta para a missão, mais especificamente para o momento mais importante de seu papel nisso. Não existirá amigos para que se preocupe, é apenas você e seu momento. Você sentirá os mesmos sentimentos que colocou no papel e terá a chance de pensar em algo que gostaria de ter mudado nessa situação. As probabilidades aparecerão e você será capaz de ver o que aconteceria se mudasse um ato, uma palavra ou uma escolha específica. Mas atenção, essa mudança ocorrerá apenas em sua mente no momento do transe, ao fim da queima da folha de louro, tudo voltará ao normal como realmente aconteceu.

Quando abrir os olhos, a conta de argila agora terá um desenho, algo que remete a sua missão importante. Toda conta será única, exclusiva. Será a única conta que cada um de vocês conseguirão ter diferente dos colegas.

Para os semideuses que acabaram de voltar de missão, pensem naquela que vocês recém realizaram. Os sentimentos mais frescos tornarão a experiência ainda mais vívida.

Bom pessoal, como prometido, aqui estamos com a task para quem não está em missão no momento, mas não apenas para esses, já que quem está em missão também vai ter a chance de realizar e conseguir um segundo prêmio APÓS a conclusão da futura missão que receberá nos próximos dias.

A task vale o mesmo prêmio que as missões: um dos itens do arsenal.

O prazo para conclusão da task é de 3 semanas, iniciando no dia 09/04 até o dia 30/04. Com excessão para aqueles que estiverem nas missões dessa leva, que terão tempo após o final da missão para fazer, não precisam se apressar e responder os dois ao mesmo tempo.

Caso seu personagem resgate um prêmio com a missão, ele ainda poderá resgatar outro com a task, totalizando dois por personagem, caso cumpra ambas as dinâmicas. Ou só uma se tiver participado apenas de uma delas.

Caso o primeiro prêmio resgatado tenha sido uma arma, o segundo precisa ser obrigatoriamente um artefato. Ou vice versa.

E se seu personagem não participou da primeira leva das missões e não vai participar da segunda leva, você também pode fazer! Basta pensar em uma missão antigo que elu participou, alguma que tenha sido importante para elu.

A task pode ser feita em forma de POV, Headcanons ou uma interação com alguém com quem seu personagem compartilhou a missão, por exemplo. A forma mais indicada seria um POV, mas a escolha é de vocês!

(I was very invested in the conversations so I did not write as much as I would have liked. But some critical things really stood out to me.)

The way of Knowing these people is very unique. Reading their letters and their diaries provides a particular perspective allows you to know what they really were like - more than what their fellows may have known. You see a more intimate part of these explorers through their very personal narrations through their journals and letters.

Empathy as a Tool for Understanding

(This part was incredibly important to me.)

Sarah goes on to explain (thereabouts): You have to Listen to people. They (people writing or creating a Narrative/Narration of events) look at a historical figure and get a "snap" of them. From there they decide that they know everything about them. From there, it's like Cinderella's shoe and the step-sister cutting off parts of her foot to make it fit. You need to let these people liver and breathe as a dynamic person with feelings and thoughts. You have to be truthful. Otherwise you are doing that person a disservice and shoving them into a specific box that is meant to just fit your Narrative. You should try and be empathetic to the individual you are writing about as if they are still alive.

Spufford goes on to extrapolate on that with (thereabouts): Finding out what people meant to themselves is important. Some things you want to keep at arms lengths but still play an intrinsic role in their character. Being empathetic to these people is critical to respecting and acknowledging them with care and showing them that you care about them.

This was my first Terror Camp in its entierty. The weekend was such a delight. I had no idea what sort of experience I would be having. It was beyond my expectations. I got to learn a lot more about some of the other Expeditions that I was not as familiar with as I would have liked to be. My book list has expanded by a decent number. Getting to listen to Nive Nielsen and Paul ready was incredible. I loved everything about this experience. I cannot wait for @terrorcamp to announce the next year's event. I will certainly be attending it without a doubt. I look forwards to future projects and staying in touch with anyone else that would like to. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!
