Being a social butterfly is challenging when it's time to self-isolate! 😣 COVID-19 has made me feel like I'm hula-hooping 3,000 tasks on top of trying to maintain my mental health. (Just a heads up, I'm rubbish at hula-hooping.) 😅 Thankfully, I've gotten some practice working remotely as a freelancer and #travelblogger. So here are a few tips and tricks to help you stay sane and healthy: ✔️Join Facebook groups to discuss your favorite subjects. A fan of the reading? Cross stitching? Hiking? Traveling? There are Facebook groups for all virtually anything. Get out onto the web and find your tribe! ✔️Transform traditions into virtual ones. Every week, my best friend and I have a movie night. Even if we can't be together, we binge-watch our favorite shows together while dishing via text about all the plot twists and jerks. The companionship is still there! ✔️Learn something new. Have you wanted to start working out more? Maybe learn how to whistle or speak a new language? Thankfully, so many businesses are offering free trials or even free classes during this time. Personally, I’m brushing up on my coding skills this week and also diving into the science of coffee roasting. ✔️Explore the world. (NO, don’t pack your bags and leave the country. That'll just make matters worse.) Instead, dig through the cultural archives of museums, theaters, zoos, historical venues and more that are giving you the in-depth tour all while lounging on your sofa. Say hello to the Louvre and even Mexico's National Museum of Anthropology! If all else fails, you can always reach out to me for a quick pick me up. Straight up toxic humans? Kick them to the curb! PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT! 🤸‍♀️🤸🤸‍♂️ You owe them nothing. The only person who is owed something is you!
