summary!

As Said the Whore of Babylon (frequently abbreviated as AStWoB) is an American metalcore band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2019 by Rhiannon Wolfe and Jezebel Eiden-Desmond, its current lineup comprises Wolfe, Reed Meadows, Joel Talley, Poetry Dorian, and Corbin Kreery.

Omen Brokebone is one year out of a hellish marriage when she's contacted by Selene Mabins - talent manager for a band called As Said the Whore of Babylon - with an invitation to join their crew as a makeup artist. Working to make a new life and a name for herself, Omen accepts. She doesn't expect to meet Reed Meadows again. And she certainly doesn't expect to fall in love with him and his bandmates.

• Omen Brokebone (she/he/they) •/ Not a Babylon (yet), but as cherished as any of their crew members - and then some, as you'll learn. A self-taught makeup artist and a childhood friend of Reed's. Belongs to Ceejay.

• Rhiannon Wolfe (she/her) but you really should just call her Wolfe •/ The lead vocalist. First rose to fame with her last band at only 18 years old due to her remarkable skill.

• Reed Meadows (he/him) •/ The lead guitarist. Has never been in a band before AStWoB but still took to it like a fish to water. A childhood friend of Omen's, though he hasn't spoken to her in 8 years.

• Joel Talley (he/him) •/ The drummer, though he's skilled with guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, and vocals. Also a songwriter and self-taught producer. He is much more humble about his skills than one would assume.

• Poetry Dorian (he/she), or Poe •/ The bassist. Youngest child of a beautiful and famous Italian actress, but much less conventional than his family. Autistic and goth.

• Jessamine Meadows (she/her) •/ Reed's 11-year-old daughter, born when he was just 16. Feisty and a little mean, but adores her father and has easily accepted the rest of the band as her parents.

• Daxton "Dax" Coffin (he/him) •/ Wolfe's 9-year-old son, born when she was 17. Raised by his father. Has not met the band and only sees Wolfe a few times a month.

• Villanelle Dorian (she/her) •/ The 5-year-old daughter of Poe and her ex-wife, Aamirah Akmal Dorian. Currently living in Washington with her mother, but is due to live with Poe soon.

• Jezebel Eiden-Desmond (she/her) •/ Former guitarist for AStWoB (now the vocalist of The Womb That Devours) and best friend of Corbin. Considers the band to be her unbiological family. Randal's soulmate, though she doesn't know that yet.

• Randal Denvers (he/him) •/ Omen's cousin. A mechanic and for-fun bassist. Jezebel's soulmate, though he doesn't know that yet. Belongs to Ceejay.

The floors creaked almost steadily and a breeze made its way through her old Paris apartment. It’d been sometime since she’d been here, the place she once would call home… only it was never really home then.

Villanelle ran her hand across the corroded walls and down the splintered wooden doorframe. It was just as she left it and yet it felt so empty and cold. A part of her was glad she’d moved on, but still — the sun gently beaming through the wide open window had never been a lonelier sight.

this is SUCH a hard question. i'm going to go with my gut and say villanelle from killing eve right now, but there are a dozen other names that pop up in my mind.

8. Have you ever met anyone outside of RP?

i haven't :^( it's been a terrible combination of "i live in rural canada" along with most of my writing partners being either american or somewhere in europe.

How to Write A Prophecy

Write rhyming couplets with a similar amount of syllables! AABB seems to be the way to go, but ABAB could work:

To chance, leave nothing to fate A, 7 syllables A demigod's fatal date A, 7 syllables In the owl's hands lies pow'r B, 7 syllables But can you climb that which tow'rs? B, 7 syllables

Use alliteration, assonance, internal rhymes, or figurative language to make your prophecy sound more mysterious and poetic.

It also definitely helps if you have your fanfic planned out beforehand, so you can write prophecies that play out throughout your quest and input little "double meanings" or "multiple messages" that are obvious only in hindsight.

While, of course, this is a roleplay and you cannot plan everything, do try to have a course of action for you and your quest mates! The RP will follow the course of your prophecy, after all.

Try reading it out loud to yourself a few times (and maybe try posting it in the quest-plotting channel for help just in case!)

Symbolism also helps! Lightning is of course Zeus/Jupiter, wisdom is Athena/Minerva, but remember they also have other symbols! You can call Zeus "the king" or Athena "the owl." Poetry is all about symbolism!

Sometimes we have to remember: KISS! Keep It Simple, Silly! Don't try to force a rhyme, don't use a word that doesn't really need to be there. If you need help, rhymezone is a great resource! Near-rhymes are part of poetry as well, so it's okay if it isn't exact! In the words of beetles: This is a Percy Jackson RP server. Don't sweat it.

Most prophecies in the PJO series aren't super long! Don't try to force yourself to write an entire villanelle (five 3-line stanzas/tercets followed by one 4-line stanza/quatrain.) Again, keep it simple!

Ask for help! If you're stuck, you have plenty of people in the server who have degrees/study this kind of stuff. Just remember to be patient because we do have lives. :)

Wednesday, November 1 -- Villanelle Poem: A poem in a villanelle structure! Can be written from a character’s perspective, about a character, or about something in the RP in general. Bonus points if it is canon. (Read more about villanelle) .

Found written in a journal tucked in the far recesses of a hotel room with the belongings of one Genevieve Davenport on the night of her arrest, September 13, 2026.

Not all that glitters is golden, at  least that is what they say. And unto that she is beholden. The threads of her life are woven. Her eagerness for it on display. Not all that glitters is golden. The crown on her head is broken; The jewels of her life in disarray Not all that glitters is golden. Adrift, alone, unbeholden No one listens to what she will say Not all that glitters is golden. Her crown is ruined. The jewels now lay untouched within decay.  Not all that glitters is golden.
