Lucien, Elain, Jurian, & Vassa

I think people forget this line when it comes to shipping Lucien and Vassa together:

“I asked Lucien to escort me, and he’d been more than happy to do so, given that his own status as a mated male made him uninterested in any sort of female company these days.”

And Lucien also said this when talking with Ianthe:

“I’m a mated male now.”

Those happened in ACOWAR BTW.

Also, in ACOSF, Cassian notes this about Lucien when he gives Elain her Solstice gift from him:

Cassian’s heart strained at the pain etching deep into Lucien’s face as he tried to hide his disappointment and longing.

And that was after he said this to Nesta when she asked about Jurian and Vassa:

“At each other’s throats, as they like to be,” he said, a tad sharply. <---- and this 'being at each other's throats' is a typical thing Sarah does for couples who will more than likely end up together.

Those things happened after the halfway point in ACOSF, and we know Elain rejected Azriel's gift he gave her later that night after their encounter which signals an ending between anything that was previously brewing between them (not that there was much anyways since Azriel himself said it was all lingering stares and brief fingertip touched and he'd been keeping away deliberately).

We also know Elain has appeared to keep the gifts Lucien has gotten her. One gift that was a pair of enchanted gloves that was a well thought out and suitable gift for his mate who loves to garden. Which means she's still open to him, despite appearing uncomfortable around him because that can always change and she can grow new feelings for Lucien.

So it's safe to assume that it will be Jurian and Vassa, not Lucien and Vassa, and Elain and Lucien endgame pairings given the evidence from ACOWAR and ACOSF.

This is a burner account that I created so I am not affiliated with any ship. As such, it is possible that the results may not be representative if not a lot of people see this poll. In anticipation of that, I am opening this poll for one week so that hopefully more people can see it.

I wanted to include all the prominent ships and I apologize that for the second option (Elriel/Vassien), I really could not think of any other ships that characters Gwyn and Jurian are involved in, besides their predominant ships of Gwynriel and Jassa respectively, to make both sides equal in number. I am aware that Jassa has another ship name (Vassian), but I thought it was too similar to Vassien and might confuse people reading this, which was why I picked Jassa over Vassian. The order of which side of the ship war would be placed as the first and second option was decided by a coin toss, which is also the order of the ship tags' appearance in this post. Within each option, the order of ships was determined alphabetically.

This poll is conducted out of curiosity. I am aware that it cannot possibly encapsulate everybody's opinions in the fandom as not everyone uses Tumblr.

do I think there's must be something between Vassa and Jurian? I mean, it could be, he likes to antagonize her sure but considering how He Is and the messiness of men in this books I wouldn't pass it. You know who also seems to like ripping each other's throats from time to time though? Lucien and Jurian, sure, you can take most of Lucien reactions or how he talks of him as being jealous.... but what about the other percent of his words when Vassa isn't even involved? I can properly speak for myself but now you just spoke for me. No matter how much I love Az, he needs to sort his shit out before he hurts someone/his relationship beyond repair. Although I'd like to have Elucien happening (with the right development, maybe slow burn friends to lovers and not just 'oh elain needs a male, here take this one' thing) I can't help but love the idea of Vassa and Lucien together. Yk, to be honest, I could be persuaded into really liking each ship with the right development. So, yes, I agree. I could see a slow-burn friends to lovers with elucien.

I think that’s one of the reasons, yeah. Look elain isn’t my favourite but I don’t dislike her at all. With what she went through and then instantly being told she’s mated to a male (our boy’s gotta work on his timing) in a time where she was really not ready to hear that. She’s not entitled to him. And Lucien definitely got his hopes up too quickly.

I do want Lucien to be loved so badly though and think him and Vassa would be great. But I do love the idea that Lucien, Vassa and Jurian have all done it at some point. Like ayo give us a poly relationship with those three.
