My piece from @v3postgamezine , which is in leftovers right now!

It’s a cellphone wallpaper, so I went with a more simplified/cartoony style in hopes it’d still be legible no matter the resolution. The concept is that the killing game was actually a social experiment by a group of alien scientists, and the V3 kids end up escaping, stealing a spaceship, and becoming space pirates.

I only showed these 7 (+Tsumugi via hologram) in person, but my intention was that it’s all 15 on the ship, so I tried to put signs of the others in some of the BG details... Overall, I think the perspective looks nice, but I kind of wish I’d gone a little more exaggerated, with Tsumugi really looming overhead and Miu + Kokichi way up close. Oh well, for next time!

As for the designs, they’re drawing mostly from cyberpunk but also at least a little from traditional pirate clothes. Probably most noticeably for Kaede and Kaito. The alien species is based on axolotls and sea slugs.  With Kaede and Shuichi, I really had to focus on trying to make them look distinct from the back, which is, admittedly, something I tend to forget about. Overall, I really tried to keep them unified through the palette and repeating shapes (esp. hexagons) but also tried to give each person their own “main” color + unique silhouette.

first zine i got into that actually came out🥹and it's doing absolutely amazing! i will be forever grateful with working with these people, i've been sort of witnessing everything since the beginning and oh my god i am just. extremely proud of this project, i think i finished this in december 2023 so the art style is a bit different compared to what i do now but i still think it's a decent piece! also i am never going to forget the moment when i sent out kiyo's design and someone told me it's so kiyo shaped LIKE THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST COMPLIMENT I'LL EVER GET🥺🥺🥺 and i wrote a fic for the first time even though it's super short so yea! this project is a lot of fun, thank you so much for having me i'm so happy i get to work with so many amazing people, please go download the zine and check out everyone else's work (especially if you love fics! we have so many it's insane and we actually managed to feature almost the entire danganronpa cast)
