My Hero
Larissa Weems/Brienne of Tarth x fReader
Quick one shot I thought would be sweet! Reader loves Brienne of Tarth, and to her utter surprise, Brienne has been in front of her all along. ~2.5k words.
Tumblr media
You were on your way to Principal Weems' office, relieved to be finished with your exams. Your students had done exceptionally well with Chemistry and Potions this term, and you were happy to report their success (and yours) to the astonishing headmistress.
You proudly glided through the halls, letting out a giggle when you reached Principal Weems' office doors. You knocked and entered when you heard her inviting voice call you in. She sat at her desk typing on her laptop, and smiled brightly when her eyes met your figure entering her office. "Hi Principal Weems, I just wanted to drop off my students exams!" you chirped. She chuckled, "My, my, you seem happy." As your eyes drifted from the exams to hers, you blushed. "Oh, I'm so pleased with my students performances this term! They worked very hard, and it paid off." Principal Weems nodded as she gestured for you to place the exams on her desk, "I'm so glad to hear that, darling." You plopped the exams down on her desk, bending down slightly in front of the older woman to sort through the exams. Larissa couldn't help but glance at your chest, it was right in front of her face, after all. You were wearing a dark button up v neck, which was rather fitting to your form. She decided she should look away before you caught her staring, but she did a double take when she got a look at your necklace. She tilted her head in question, was that? No, probably not. "I like your necklace" Larissa said, reaching her hand out and taking it between her fingers. You looked down at the sword around your neck, now in the hands of this fine woman. "Oh, Oathkeeper! Did you watch Game of Thrones?" you replied happily. Larissa smiled as she looked over the small replica, she knew it was Oathkeeper. "I have watched it, actually. I take it you like Brienne of Tarth?" Your face lit up in excitement, you loved Game of Thrones, especially Brienne, and you loved talking about it. "I love Brienne of Tarth!" you exclaimed, looking down at the woman who's head was tilted and eyelashes batting at you. Larissa laughed to herself, how ironic. "Would you like to watch it together sometime?" she said, intrigued by your love of the show. Your eyes lit up and you almost jumped up and down, "Yes! I would love to!"
Frantically, you ran around your house tidying up last minute things. You had snacks and wine, you were all ready for Larissa to come over for your Game of Thrones night. You were ecstatic and you had been all day, basically almost bouncing off of the walls. If there was one thing you loved, it was Game of Thrones, but if there was one thing you loved more, it was Larissa Weems.
Watching Game of Thrones with Larisa Weems was crazy, a dream, the best night of your life. You cuddled up in your blanket next to the woman and started the show from season two episode three. You would never start at season two if you hadn't watched it before, but you both agreed that you could start where Brienne came in, as you had already seen season one. "AHH oh my god!" You screamed when Brienne made her appearance, taking her helmet off and kneeling to the king. "She's so hot" you added, unable to contain the smile on your face. Larissa watched as you had a small freak out over Brienne, and she couldn't contain her laughter. She brought a hand to her mouth as she laughed with amusement, her body shaking with giggles. You blushed as you watched her run out of breath with laughter, "What?!" Larissa laid a hand on yours to tell you that it was okay, as she couldn't speak, she was still laughing. "Nothing darling, y-you're just so cute" she giggled. You put on a fake frown and turned back to the show.
You paused the show after an episode to run to the washroom. Larissa went too, walking through your bedroom to get to it. When she was finished, she walked slowly back through your room, glancing around at your things. She knew that she was snooping, but she couldn't help that she craved to know you better, know how you lived, what things you were into. The Oathkeeper necklace caught her attention again, as she saw it placed on your vanity. It had it's own little sword holder, and she scrunched her nose up in amusement. Larissa walked through the hallway back to you, and found a photo of Daenerys and Brienne on your wall. Her lips curled into a big smile as she shook her head, you were obsessed, an adorable, endearing kind of obsessed. She couldn't wait to tell you.
"So, who are your favorite women on the show" Larissa asked with a smirk, wrapped in your blanket on the couch with you. You looked to the tv, then back at her. "Ah, that's a good question. I like Melisandre, oh and Sansa. Cersei is a bitch, sorry I had to say it!" you put your arms up in false surrender. Larissa snickered, "What about Brienne?!" Your eyes widened, "I didn't get to her yet! I was going to say that I like them, but she's my favorite!" you laughed, swatting at Larissa's arm.
You were invested in the show, laying on your side with your head on the arm rest of the couch. Larissa admired you from the other end, your love for Brienne brought warmth to her chest. Your passion was absolutely adorable when you were into something or someone, but the fact that you were interested in her, without knowing that it was her, was hilarious. It boosted Larissa's confidence and made her giddy. You looked over at Larissa, pulling yourself away from the show. Game of Thrones captivated you, but so did she. You sat up and scooted closer to Larissa, gazing fondly over her facial features. Larissa sounded like Brienne of Tarth, you had noticed before. She was tall like her, and she had the same piercing blue eyes. Perhaps that was why you liked them both so much, they were brave fighters and beautiful women. Larissa turned her attention towards you as you revelled in her beauty. Her lips were a similar shape to Brienne's, and she had that same upper lip scar. She had the exact same face shape, and she had that small nose dent. Wait, did Brienne have that? You swivelled your head around to catch Brienne's face on the tv, she did. "You look a lot like Brienne of Tarth" you said to Larissa, eyes wide, now kind of spooked. She tilted her head to the side and frowned, "What do you mean?" You looked back and forth between her and Brienne on the show, "You literally look exactly like her! You have her bright eyes, her cute lips, her scar, her height, her accent. You're both pale and blonde, you are basically the same person!" A huge grin slowly lit up Larissa's face, you called her cute, and you were figuring it out. She furrowed her brows and looked at the tv, "I don't see it. Who plays Brienne anyway?" You scoffed and looked up the actress who played Brienne of Tarth on your phone. You showed it to Larissa, "Her name is Laura Winters, but when you look her up, there's nothing except Brienne of Tarth photos. She must've used a fake name, she's hiding from me" you grumbled. Larissa let out a snicker, but refrained from giving too much away. You were so innocent and so close to the truth, but you just couldn't reach it on your own. She was really excited to see your reaction when she told you.
Larissa giggled down at you as your eyebrows furrowed. You were concentrating very hard and frantically searching the web for more information on 'Laura Winters'. She smiled, her pearly whites showing, "Would you come with me for a moment darling? I want to show you something."
It was only about five years ago that Larissa had become Principal of the Academy, and about five years ago when she had finished filming Game of Thrones. Not many people knew that Larissa was in the show, as she was a teacher all the while she was filming. She was into acting for about ten years, but left once Game of Thrones ended. She was glad to be able to express herself and tap into her androgenous side over the years, even dyeing and cutting off her hair at the beginning of the show and gaining muscle mass for her roll. In the end though, she decided that she preferred her usual feminine self. So, she focused on education and outcast relations, as that was more important to her than acting.
Larissa had used a fake name, never did interviews, or showed up to any events during her acting career. She always knew that she wanted to continue in her career in education, and she didn't want her fame to somehow affect her reputation. Seeing how flustered and determined you were to figure out who Brienne of Tarth was made her crack, she had to tell you.
"Come in love" she said, opening her apartment door for you. You walked in and followed her, confused. "Wow, your place is so nice" you said, looking around at her décor. "Thank you darling, but I think I have something that you will like even more." You tilted your head, did she have something for you? She sat on her bed and pat the spot next to her. You sat down and she took your hand, smiling ear to ear. "I want to tell you something, but I don't think that you're going to believe me." You furrowed your brows. "Um, okay" you said, looking around her room. Was there something you were missing? Larissa took a deep breath and leaned down close to whisper in your ear. "Can you keep a secret?" You shivered at her proximity, her breath warm against your skin. "Yes" you whispered. She chuckled lowly and held out her pinky, "Promise?" You wrapped your pinky around hers and locked it, "Promise." Larissa chuckled, you were too cute. "I am Brienne of Tarth" she whispered. You pulled back, "Uh, no? You're Larissa Weems!" Larissa nodded her head, "Yes, I am Larissa Weems, but I played Brienne of Tarth before I was principal."
Your eyes darted around the room, you couldn't wrack your brain around it. She was probably just messing with you, but it was kind of funny. "Well why aren't you famous then? Why doesn't 'Laura Winters' say 'Larissa Weems'? Why aren't you still acting? Why are you here?!" Larissa couldn't help but chuckle at your reaction, it was what she was expecting. "Darling, I used a fake name. Laura Winters, Larissa Weems" she said, holding one hand up and then the other, showing that it was a clue. Your jaw dropped, that could make sense. You narrowed your eyes at the woman, "You do look exactly like her, but I still don't believe you." You would never believe that Larissa Weems was Brienne of Tarth. Not because it was impossible, but because your favorite character couldn't be real, she couldn't be sitting in front of you, could she? "I will prove it to you darling" Larissa cooed, standing and walking into her closet. She came out a minute later, holding a sword. She presented it to you and you jumped off of the bed, running to her. "Oathkeeper?!" you screamed, placing your hands over your mouth in complete shock. Larissa nodded down at you, "Oathkeeper." You stared down at the sword, you didn't know what to do. "Can I hold it? Please?" you smiled, reaching out for it. You took it from Larissa and held it, it was heavy. "How the hell did you fight with this? It's so heavy!" you exclaimed, swinging it around carefully. "I used to be stronger" Larissa chuckled. You admired the details of the hilt, it was very intricate. "Okay, so you're serious? You're really Brienne of Tarth? How do I know you don't just have a model of Oathkeeper? How do I know this is real?" Larissa shrugged her shoulders, "Good point." She disappeared back into the closet and came out with a piece of Brienne's black armour. "Oh my fucking god!" you screamed, taking the armour from her. Your mouth was open and your eyes wide, you said nothing else as you stared down at the black metal.
"Darling? Are you alright?" Larissa said, looking down at you with concern. You dropped the armour and sword on the bed and threw yourself at the woman, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her close. Larissa let out an "oof" when you hugged her, but she adored your eagerness and melted into your comfort. She embraced you back, giggling at your reaction. "You're my hero" you murmured against her chest. Larissa's brows furrowed, "Brienne is your hero?" You smiled, pulling back slightly to look into her deep blues. "Yes, Brienne is my hero." Larissa smirked and brought her hand up to caress your cheek. "But so are you" you smiled. Larissa's smile dropped. "Me?" she questioned. "Yes, you. Brienne of Tarth, Larissa Weems, you're my hero. You're inspiring Larissa. You're gentle, beautiful, intelligent, and you're the bravest person that I've ever met. Hell, you have so many talents it's crazy." Larissa's expression changed to one of appreciation and joy as her lower lip quivered. She breathed out lowly, "Really?" You took her face in your hand and nodded sincerely, "Really. Thank you for sharing this with me." Larissa batted her lashes as ger gaze fell to the floor, she was suddenly shy. She pulled you closer to her and you buried your head in her chest. You always thought of Larissa as one of your heroes, but all of this time you didn't know that she was your ultimate hero. Brienne of Tarth, you were hugging Brienne of Tarth. What was even better though, was that you were hugging Larissa Weems. You giggled against Larissa, almost sending yourself into a laughing fit. "What?" Larissa asked, snorting quietly at you. "I called you hot" you said, smiling up at her. She scrunched her nose up as she beamed down at you. "Yes, you did" she replied with a wink.
You pulled away blushing and picked up the armour, holding it out to Larissa. "Well, I won't truly believe you until you put on her armour." She hesitantly took it and narrowed her eyes at you, then she smiled. She left for a few moments to change, then presented herself to you in full armour with a huge grin on her face. You passed Oathkeeper to her and took in the image before you in awe. You nodded in acceptance and excitement, beaming at the woman before you. "Brienne of fucking Tarth."

Seven, Brienne thought again, despairing. She had no chance against seven, she knew. No chance, and no choice.
She stepped out into the rain, Oathkeeper in hand. “Leave her be. If you want to rape someone, try me.”
- Brienne VII, AFFC
“I know the cost! Last night, gazing into that hearth, I saw things in the flames as well. I saw a king, a crown of fire on his brows, burning … burning, Davos. His own crown consumed his flesh and turned him into ash. Do you think I need Melisandre to tell me what that means? Or you?” The king moved, so his shadow fell upon King’s Landing. “If Joffrey should die … what is the life of one bastard boy against a kingdom?”
“Everything,” said Davos, softly.
- Davos V, ASOS
Ned had heard enough. “You send hired knives to kill a fourteen-year-old girl and still quibble about honor?” He pushed back his chair and stood. “Do it yourself, Robert. The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. Look her in the eyes before you kill her. See her tears, hear her last words. You owe her that much at least.”
[…]
“I will not be part of murder, Robert. Do as you will, but do not ask me to fix my seal to it.”
For a moment Robert did not seem to understand what Ned was saying. Defiance was not a dish he tasted often. Slowly his face changed as comprehension came. His eyes narrowed and a flush crept up his neck past the velvet collar. He pointed an angry finger at Ned. “You are the King’s Hand, Lord Stark. You will do as I command you, or I’ll find me a Hand who will.”
“I wish him every success.” Ned unfastened the heavy clasp that clutched at the folds of his cloak, the ornate silver hand that was his badge of office. He laid it on the table in front of the king, saddened by the memory of the man who had pinned it on him, the friend he had loved. “I thought you a better man than this, Robert. I thought we had made a nobler king.”
Robert’s face was purple. “Out,” he croaked, choking on his rage. “Out, damn you, I’m done with you. What are you waiting for? Go, run back to Winterfell. And make certain I never look on your face again, or I swear, I’ll have your head on a spike!”
Ned bowed, and turned on his heel without another word.
- Eddard VIII, AGOT
“I know what I swore.” Jon said the words. “I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. Were those the same words you said when you took your vows?”
“They were. As the lord commander knows.”
“Are you certain that I have not forgotten some? The ones about the king and his laws, and how we must defend every foot of his land and cling to each ruined castle? How does that part go?” Jon waited for an answer. None came. “I am the shield that guards the realms of men. Those are the words. So tell me, my lord—what are these wildlings, if not men?”

Always been kinda funny to me that Jaime reads Brienne's behavior during the last leg of their trip to kingslanding as her still loathing him and is offended by it (gods know why I bother, i should have left her for the bear after all, etc.) when it's really not that different from how we've seen her act around people she ostensibly likes.
The homely young woman had kept to herself all through their journey, spending most of her time with the horses, brushing out their coats and pulling stones from their shoes. Any task Catelyn asked her to turn her hand to, Brienne had performed deftly and without complaint, and when she was spoken to she answered politely, but she never chattered, nor wept, nor laughed. She had ridden with them every day and slept among them every night without ever truly becoming one of them. It was the same when she was with Renly, Catelyn thought. - ACOK Catelyn V
She is the least companionable creature I've ever had the misfortune to meet. The wench rode well behind and a few feet off to the side, as if to proclaim that she was no part of them. She looked more comfortable dressed as a man, but nothing would ever make her look handsome. Nor happy. Once out of Harrenhal, her usual pighead stubbornness had soon reasserted itself. That much Brienne could do, but her sullen silences soon began to fray his good humor almost as much as Qyburn's endless attempts to be ingratiating. - ASOS Jaime VI
She's also dealing with some very fresh grief on both the roadtrips in these chapters (first for Renly and then for Cat). But of course, the respect Jaime's built up for her competence and the way she embraces ideals that had long ago been corrupted for him is making it intolerable that she still seems to dislike him even after all they've been though together. Though in all fairness, Brienne is still probably a little wary of him. I think it's his giving her Oathkeeper that really cements the fact that she can feel safe trusting him. As she herself remarks, Oathkeeper is not the kind of gift you'd give to someone as a jape, it's proof of his sincerity, and independent of their oath to Catelyn, by sending her on such a quintessential chivalric quest he is affirming that he sees her as an equal, and perhaps something of a knight in her own right.

Warning: Your Abortion Dialogue is being recorded and screenshotted
Hi, I just wanted tell EVERYONE who is concerned about the unfortunate overturning of Roe v Wade.
In a recent incident in a group, on the most popularMETA social network, friendly members discussed helpful solutions in handling pregnancies and abortions.
A lurker announced that they have screenshotted nearly 50 images of sensitive Anti- Roe v Wade conversations.
Not only that, they announced that they are giving those screenshots to groups with the intent of monitoring ANYONE who opposes the overturning of Roe v Wade.
Be careful! You are being monitored.
Get end to end encrypted Whistleblowing software and apps to talk on.
Guard your identity and be anonymous if you need to.
Use disposable phone numbers and disposable emails.
DO NOT TALK TO POLICE OR ANYONE youre not 100% sure about.
If police talk to you, ask if youre free to go. If not, only say, that you need a lawyer and stop talking.
Be vigilant and safe. These changes in law, often become extremely dangerous.
Cops watch you. Social media watches you. Government groups watch you. And even worse, Domestic Terrorist Groups are watching you. The Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, and Groups under a seemingly friendly organization name, with the intent to harm you.

what's up with dark sister. what's up with dark sister like there has to be a reason bloodraven took it with him to the wall. it's like set up that jon is going to be the one to wield it; he has clear parallels to its previous owners and lbr after aegon and rhaenys his name was probably almost visenya. HOWEVER he already has a v symbolic Cool Sword and he is definitely going to have to choose the north and the starks over the targaryens and valyria at some point. personally I would love for him to give it to dany, it would parallel him giving needle to arya. HOWEVER there is something also going on with dawn and dawn is a very clever way to say 'lightbringer.' what if real 'the sword of the morning' is another take on the prince that was promised who is destined to end the long night!!!! and is that a red herring for ashara dayne being jon's real mom??? and did the maternal line hold on to blackfyre or is it just floating around essos somewhere, does the iron bank have it in a vault or whatever??? will the other half of ice be returned to winterfell and will brienne be able to make oathkeeper less ugly. it's all about the swords!!!!!

Cassius Montagu Season 1
CASSIUS MONTAGU
THE BASICS:
Character’s name: Cassius Montagu
Role in story: "The Dragon" (in this case literally)/Nemesis/Antagonist/Antihero
Physical description: Richard Armitage ;D
Age: 36
MBTI: INTJ (the architect)
Enneagram: Type 1 (the reformer), 1w9, 163 or 164
Zodiac: Capricorn
TRAJECTORY:
Overall Arc: From someone trying to hold onto and execute an impossible dream via the arrogance of viewing himself as a 'necessary evil,' to someone sacrificing themselves bc the only thing that's really necessary is that we do everything we can: there is no one, true path to a better world or a better self. From seeing himself as the last bastion of a dying dream to realizing that his only true rule is to defend the innocent, whatever that takes. Remembering his vows. Remembering selflessness.
Season 1 Arc (Step 1 of 4): from someone holding up a mask to the world (i am the sword of the queen -- but im secretly still a rider i kept my oath to will etc) to someone stripped bare for all to see -- from someone who believes he can play both roles to someone who sees that he made a choice long ago -- and now believes there was never any turning back from it
Season 2 Arc (Step 2 of 4): from someone who believes he's trapped in a choice he made many years ago to someone cautiously optimistic that he can still help others, even from his current wretched position
Season 3 Arc (Step 3 of 4): from someone feeling increasingly hopeful that he can still wield his position as a force for good to someone who has lost all faith in themselves and in this world and believes himself cursed/forsworn/truly and utterly evil and irredeemable
Season 4 Arc (Step 4 of 4): from oathbreaker to oathkeeper, from someone whose lost all hope and belief in themselves and is just looking to make the most out of a hopeless situation to someone willing to fight for what they believe in
ENGINE OF CHANGE:
Internal goal/desire: To be good, to have integrity, to be balanced, to be heroic
Why can’t they get it? Well, he's the watchdog for an evil empire, effectively...No, but in truth it stems largely from the fact that, no matter what he does, Cassius finds himself aligned with something he loathes. If he helps Rowena, he finds himself burning and harrassing the innocent masses he once swore to protect in the name of law and order. If, however, he abandons her, he also abandons both the dream of utopia he slaughtered all his brothers and sisters in the name of achieving, making their deaths all in vain, and secondly, he gives in to what he still believes was wrong with the dragonriders: their supposed intolerance (since he still believes atp that the lord commander was trying to destroy all magic users)
Interally-motivated external goal: To usher in an era of peace and prosperity for Aragoth, to give it the change it so needs. However, instead, he's an experiment in why the dragonriders should never get involved in politics: they have too much power.
Why can't they get it? Many reasons! For one, he's barring his own way by seeing the world in black in white: Rowena's side vs the rebel's side. (I'm realizing that there's an au somewhere in here where Cassius simply kills Rowena and names himself king, becoming an utter tyrant, himself, in the name of peace bc he ultimately does NOT know how to rule and his pov is so black/white that he could never rule w the necessary nuance, but anyway kdsjfkdsjf anyway this would ultimately be a v tragic au with him struggling in vain to be a good ruler and instead destroying everything he believes in once again, and i cry but anyway!) For another, his life force is bound to Rowena, who we all know is evil oops. Cassius also honestly doesn't know the first thing about ruling and, while Rowena probably could have been a great ruler if she hadn't gotten obsessed w dark magic etc, she isn't doing it, its really up to Cassius and he just...shouldn't be the de fact Hand of the Queen, to borrow a term from GRRM. Finally, he's a lil bit self-destructive and yeah. Just basically he and Rowena are a deeply toxic combination atp, both to themselves and to one another.
What are they afraid of: Part of Cassius believes -- has always believed -- that he is fundamentally flawed. He can never be good -- there's something dark coiled inside of him, ready to destroy. It takes and it takes and it burns everything he touches. He's seen now irrepressible truth that its true. How can he never escape the evil within but he'll fight hard to try.
How character views the world: Cassius believes that the world is a harsh, cruel place. Only the good of idealistic people can salvage it, if they all work together to make it the best it can be through constant vigilance and perseverence and a hardened will to stand up and do it no matter what (even if that means killing everyone you've ever known and cared about see: the purge).
How character views self: Cassius hates himself. He sees his one redeeming characteristic as his resolute nature, (yet it is his tenacious hold upon this single aspect that is actually dooming him as he will not relinquish the doomed hope that Rowena once held out to him). He believes that, bc of this, he can do the hard things that others cannot, he can bear the evil he does on his shoulders bc it is a necessary evil: carving out some good for those who deserve it in the future. He seems himself as a necessary evil, but as one that will have no place in the good world to come, so he genuinely hopes to die fighting for his cause, and leave behind some good for those who deserve it.
INTERNAL: THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER
What is his/her greatest fear?  Of being corrupt/evil, defective
Inner motivation: Want to be right, to strive higher and improve everything, to be consistent with his ideals, to justify himself, to be beyond criticism so as not to be condemned by anyone
Kryptonite: Recrimination
What is his/her misbelief about life (to be challenged ~this season)?  I can still be both! I can wield the queen's power while still being a true Rider!
Lesson he/she needs to learn (this season): He was doomed to be only the queen's from the instant he took up arms against his fellow dragonriders.
What is the best thing in his/her life?  His belief that he can still fix what's wrong with Aragoth! So, hope, however frail and misguided, given the way he's pursuing that goal, I suppose.
What is the worst thing in his/her life?  Recrimination -- mostly by himself and by Rowena. The other blows glance off of him: he's used to being maligned bc he grew up a beggar, but he knows he did wrong and his guilt is crippling -- and Rowena is and was #itscomplicated the woman he loves and hates most
What does she/he most often look down on people for?  Willful ignorance, bootlicking, dishonesty, a lack of empathy, selfishness, an unexamined life/shallowness, injustice and unfairness
What makes his/her heart feel alive?  Small, wholesome moments shared with people he cares about <3 Being trusted in and cared for by persons he believes in and loves
What makes him/her feel loved, and who was the last person to make them feel that way? Kindness, truth, idealism, someone who comes to him, an open heart, generosity. Def Guin!
Top three things he/she values most in life?  Integrity, his loved ones, hope
EXTERNAL: NOT NECESSARY, BUT GOOD TO KNOW AND SAYS A LOT ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER
What’s his/her favorite book, movie, and band? He would be a huuuuge fan of all things Tolkien and C. S. Lewis I'm ngl, total Ringer, this dude. His favorite band was def MCR back in the day lbr but now he's probs more into Hozier and The National, but he'll always have a soft spot for MCR.
Is there an object he/she can’t bear to part with and why? If Dragonriders have, like, a ring they wear or smth...it would 100% be that. His sword and at least one knife. Also the color black and brooding <3
Describe a typical outfit for him/her from top to bottom.  It's black. It's just pitch black. He's wearing black.
What names or nicknames has he/she been called throughout their life?  sdlkjflkjdf omg imagine someone calling him cassie im DYING but honestly 'the queen's dog' is probably as close as he gets to a nickname
What is his/her method of manipulation? Reasoned arguments, stoic grandstanding 'we draw the line here' over, like, moral issues...not really manipulative but everyone is a touch ig??? idk he's mostly just like 'this is the way' and then he does the thing and if you want to help him, great. if not, he'll do this himself alkjsfjksf he's pr independent
Describe their daily routine.  It's brood-o'clock somewhere! Jk, jk, but do assume constant brooding. Anyway, starts his day in his super tiny, spartan cell (this is 100% his choice btw Rowena would gladly give him some lavish suite but he's like 'no. i want a cot.' alksjdfjsf anyway). He wakes up, splashes his face with cold water, puts on his clothes etc (including his sword! another item he goes nowhere without <333 this is part of why you become a murder suspect in s2, babe alsjdfj gonna add that). He eats a small repast while reading up a missive on anything going on. He gets up, further investigates whatever's up (he doesn't fully trust whoever wrote up that missive bc he aint trust like that) which generally includes soaring around w severax and probs terrifying some poor peasants. he carries out the queen's/rider's justice anywhere he feels its needed and hunts around for eggs while he's at it. ig he eats somewhere in here asjlfslkf ngl he probs forgets abt doing that until he's in an even fouler mood than usual and pr miserable alksjdff when he returns to the castle, he reports to the queen. on council days, he then convenes the council. he then carries out any tasks that need doing garenered by that and, atp, honestly its probs dinner time. he retires to his cell. His life is utterly joyless <3
Their go-to cure for a bad day? A chat w Guinevere shhhh
CURRENT CHARACTER GOALS:
How is your character dissatisfied with their life? Well, in the beginning he's trying to walk two paths that literally are diametrically opposed so that's fun! He's also effectively running an evil empire which he is neither qualified to do nor believes is any good, but just feels like 'someone's gotta do this' which, like...ig ~some structure is better than none?????? frankly the whole thing is a no-win situation
What does your character believe will bring them true happiness or contentment? Dying to serve the greater good! Founding a just and good empire etc. Actually, tho, its just redemption...which does lead him to dying to serve the greater good, that brings him peace. Not the death itself. The more you know ig.
What definitive step could they take to turn their dream into a reality? He ~thinks motivating Rowena to rule, herself, is the thing. He sees himself as just holding things together until she comes back to save the world and, sure, they did some v bad things to get where they are, but they didn't have a choice!!!! and ultimately the ends justify the means, right? right?????? But the real deal would be dismantling this whole situation and rebuilding w cooperation and going back to protecting the innocent rather than tryna rule etc
How has their fear kept them from taking this action already? Cassius honestly doesn't think he's capable of saving the world, himself! he believes he's too inherently evil to ever bring good: all he's good for is fighting evil! so he just needs to give Rowena time to do it bc he certainly can't! Honestly if he were emotionally healtier, he'd be reaching out to Alex as soon as he gets ther elike 'dude! this is so broken, let's work together to fix it!' but he doesn't even see that as an option
How does your protagonist feel they can accomplish their goal while still steering clear of the thing they are afraid of? What he's doing now! If he just holds things together and holds the course, eventually Rowena will finally swoop in and do everything they talked about!!!! I mean sure its been fifteen years but that'll happen any time now, right?
THE BACKSTORY SCENES THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
moment #1: the death of his little sister
What does your character go into the backstory scene believing and how are they surprised by the outcome? A hero will come! His sister will be spared, just like in the stories!
How does your character struggle to hold onto their old beliefs? Well, no one does arrive. She dies. He even tried to be the hero but she still died, just a tiny thing, cold and scared and hungry, dying in his arms and there wasn't a damn thing he could do for her. He blames himself forever.
What is their conclusion/new belief? There is no hope but that which we make, but we need power to do it. Without that, we've got nothing. The only way to create a righteous world is to forge it -- even if all the world fights you. No one is coming to save you. This event effectively shaped his worldview, listed above.
moment #2: meeting will and becoming a dragonrider
What does your character go into the backstory scene believing and how are they surprised by the outcome? The above worldview, basically! But...Will really was a hero. He just came too late, but when he did, it saved all his siblings -- even if they later become lost to Cassius bc of it.
How does your character struggle to hold onto their old beliefs? Since this taps into an even older belief (idealism), it sort of forms this strange dichotomy in his mind about power and truth and sort of leads to this black and white pov that later so hinders him.
What is their conclusion/new belief? Now he has power. Now he can work with the Riders to create a wonderful new world! No one will ever have to suffer like his sister did, again!
moment #3: overhearing the lord commander, himself, threaten rowena for having magic
What does your character go into the backstory scene believing and how are they surprised by the outcome? Belief in dragonriders...crushed! Belief first conjured w the death of his sister reignited! Until this time he'd been defending the riders to Rowena, but now? Now he sees she was right all along!
How does your character struggle to hold onto their old beliefs? At first, he can't accept it! He d oesn't ~want to believe it, but the lord commander won't talk to him abt it! And when he tries to convince the others that there's corruption here, even Will turns his back on him.
What is their conclusion/new belief? You're on your own, kid. You always have been. No, but honestly,he's like 'i have the power. i have the will. its time to do what i was born to do: fight against evil so that the world can be saved.' But now the evil is the dragonriders.
moment #4: the purge and its aftermath
What does your character go into the backstory scene believing and how are they surprised by the outcome? He's doing the right thing and he's the only one ~willing to do it! This is what the gods fashioned him for.
How does your character struggle to hold onto their old beliefs? He still tries to persuade everyone he can! He still tries to bring them to his side, his way of thinking, his perceived truth!
What is their conclusion/new belief? He is alone. Utterly alone and, when he returns, he sees what Rowena has done, but she throws his actions in his face. Now, he's faced with reconciling it all to himself. Can it be done? What really was right? As long as he holds true to his oath to Will however, he has his honor. He has that. He is a Dragonrider still.

Hmmm, more KH2...
So, one of the core aspects of Nobodies they can be light, or dark. Later games flub this, but KH2 emphasizes how Nobodies are not light, or dark, but nothingness.
Original explanation for Org 13 being attuned to darkness was that these specific Nobodies were closer to darkness than light, but this is not a default option for Nobodies. Even then, Org 13 Nobodies need to wear black coats to avoid being absorbed darkness, and be ultimately erased from existence for real.
This point is hammered with the chess motif, Two Become One, and how you obtain Final Form after defeating/encountering Roxas.
Basically, KH2 argues, unlike Star Wars, true enlightenment is achieved by control over darkness, and light. However, later games only focus one over the latter.
Though KH3's Double Forms supposedly keeps this idea, and connection to Roxas, in KH3 they are achieved through Oathkeeper, and Oblivion, so they represent not Sora's control over light, and darkness, but Riku's connection to Kairi (for Oathkeeper), and Kairi's connecton to Riku (for Oathkeeper).
(Ultimate Form in KH3 by contrast suggests that the heart's true essence is indeed light, but not the nominal white light of elemental light, but full gamut of emotions, which is very ARC-V-ish. KH2 most definitely does NOT go this route.)
Since Nobodies are so central to the theme duality, and later KH games now want to ignore it, this makes it difficult for generic Nobodies to appear in future games beyond cameos.
Note: One additional note for Ultimate Form, the eight keyblades in the render refer to eight cardinal directions, as in the movement directions of King in both chess, and shogi, whereas the rainbow keyblade refers to 7 lights (7 colours, get it?). That's cool, but Final Form is very NGE inspired, so I like that better.

Kingdom Hearts TNG - Vol V
Tumblr media
Roxas vs Ansem; The Seeker of Darkness / Light of The Past / Finding Sora
Roxas and Jack figured out a plan to stop the birth of The Ultima Heartless. Jack also shows the group his entranceway to The World That Never Was. While there, they’re cornered by a group of Shadow Heartless.
A cloaked figure walks into view. He pulls off his hood. It was Ansem, the guy Sora fought all those years ago. He was alive and very clearly still in power.
“If you are the one to face The Organization, you must prove your identity to me.” He tells Roxas.
At this point, Roxas had already gotten Oathkeeper and Oblivion. He dual wields those in this fight.
During the fight, the two realize that they are evenly matched opponents. It wouldn’t be an easy fight for either of them. Ansem was slightly getting the upper hand, but Roxas knocks him back and something falls out from his pocket. It was green and shaped like a star.
Roxas picks it up and he feels a memory. It wasn’t his, but it is one that could help.
“Somewhere out there, there’s this tree with star-shaped fruit. And the fruit represents an unbreakable connection. So, as long as you and your friends carry good luck charms shaped like it, nothing could ever drive you apart. You will always find your way back to each other.”
Roxas holds the Wayfinder in his hand, holding it close to his heart. “If you can hear me, I need your help.”
With a flash of light, Roxas was sent back to the Station of Awakening. He sees a shorter figure in a black coat similar to Ansem. This was his heart.
Roxas dismisses Oathkeeper and Oblivion, Kingdom Key appearing in his hand. He turns it around in his hand, holding is backhandedly.
Roxas defeats the black hood, who was struggling to stand. He pulls off his hood.
Tumblr media
Before Roxas was sent to the false Twilight Town, Riku and Sora (in black coats), were on their way out of The World that Never Was. On their way out, they were stopped by Axel.
“So, your mind’s made up?”
“I have a wife and child, Axel. I’ve been away for too long. I need to go back to them.”
“I thought that was right from the start, but it still bothers me. Something about this just stinks.”
Riku and Sora get thrown into a fight with Axel. Axel had the upper hand as Sora and Roxas were struggling to stand.
“Sora, I have to unleash the dark power in my heart. It’s the only way you can go back to them.”
“No, Riku. Let me use it. You’ve been trying all these years to have a normal life. I will not let that be in vain.”
Without Riku giving a word of protest, Sora completely strips him of his darkness, taking it as his own.
Sora was on his knees, struggling to keep the darkness to him. It transforms him, taking the form of a man the two have not seen in over a decade. Ansem; The Seeker of Darkness.
Ansem defeats Axel, who just barely makes it out alive. Ansem turns to Riku.
“I have accepted it.”
Tumblr media
Roxas look at the boy, seeing Sora. He looked younger than Roxas, but it was him.
Sora stands up, dismissing his own weapon.
“You make a good other.”
Roxas is then sent out of Sora’s heart, seeing an unconscious Sora on the ground. He was much older. Sora wakes up and gets up from the ground. He still looked like Ansem.
After a touching reunion with Donald and Goofy, Sora accompanies the group to The Castle That Never Was.

All you need to do is point it at your Grim Dawn install folder and have some mods in your 'mods' folder. Basic Sword and Board Warlord (Oathkeeper + Soldier) This is a well-balanced build. and it was already added to grim tools map: I want to know about all of such areas. This plays with the notion of the true-crime. Simply download the latest release to start merging. Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods Maphack Interactive grim dawn world map. The build’s foundation in killing enemies is in its basic attacks with multiple passive bonuses. This is my most recommended build for beginners since its play style is simple yet powerful. The entire show centers around the idea of trying to solve a murder that happened in the building, while at the same time recording a podcast. Basic Blademaster (Nightblade + Soldier) This is a dual wielding build that deals a huge amount of pierce and bleeding damage.

Crate Enjoyment has now launched the modding tools for their ARPG Grim Daybreak. The mod tools can end up being downloaded from this which also comes with a guide on how to make use of the tools.Grim Dawn features a powerful collection of modding equipment, the same equipment, in fact, as the ones used by the development team in the development of the video game. Its a massively modded base version of grim dawn, This mod was made for a improvement on the base game adding tons of new stuff and changes. The portrayal of the character by Selena is phenomenal and her dry wit effortlessly upstages the more physical comedy styles of Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Thanks for the reply about the swords. I actually wanted to share that both Dark Sister and Lady Forlorn have dubious wielders and swords were described as blood thirsty. As you have mentioned that BR is in possession of DS and currently grooming Bran, Lady Forlorn is in possession of Lyn who hate LF and Sansa too fear him. There was meta about Joff sword had similar structure to Lady Forlorn. Things are not looking good for Sansa and Bran as Lyn and BR can do them harm.
Hi anon! (previous ask)
I remember that one!
It's almost like there's a theme that a fancy named sword does not a hero make. Only ever how you choose to wield it. A thirsty blade is the mark of villainy. Hearteater sounds hungry, too. As is Dany, the heart eater, when she hears a wolf howl in the grasslands. Sad and lonely (forlorn?) but no less hungry.
Brienne, with her ruby-clad reforged Ice-turned-Oathkeeper, Jon with his gifted bear-turned-wolf Longclaw, and Arya with her simple castle-forged Needle, come to my mind there. To each the sword is not "thirsty", though Arya has used it in wrath. The swords symbolize aspects of their identity. The knightly quest. An uncertain reward he ties to Ghost. The memory of family.
Galladon the Perfect Knight only ever drew the Just Maid in a fair fight, only thrice. She was not a thirsty blade, either.
Someone better than me needs to write a sword meta.
