hot take that should be much more lukewarm than it is: if your feminism doesn't have room for piercings and tattoos and dyed hair and collars and animal ear headbands and stuff like that, it's not really all that feminist.
people can just do what they want. if they want to get cosmetic surgeries or use different names or pronouns or dress "weird" those things are just allowed. cringe is dead. doing things that don't affect others in any meaningful way but make you feel good is good.
people can decorate their mobility aids. wear clothes with metal studs on them. go out in horrendously loud tie-dye mess clothes. we love that. that's bodily autonomy for you.
being loudly queer and gay and trans and a feminist and disabled and a legitimate animal and a furry is cool as fuck actually it's 2023.
use whatever swear words you want. the weird old WASPs giving you stares are because they're not as cool as you.
this also goes for kinks and those who (safely and consensually) practice them btw, even that one you find weird.
"bodily autonomy but only for people who make the same decisions as me about how to decorate and use theirs" isn't good feminism practices.
go forth and be safe ofc but above all be yourself

by the way, to all the people still not understanding the point, esteban ocon's crash and his subsequent request to make the barrier safer is exactly what we mean when we say the jewelry and underwear rule seems silly compared to this stuff. no, on its own it's not a bad rule. yes, it becomes one when it's a) not equally enforced, and b) focused on instead of the bigger safety concerns like concrete fucking barriers. este is not the only driver to bring up safety concerns in miami regarding those barriers, carlos sainz has spoken about it too after a 47g crash, and yet watch the FIA do nothing about it while continuing to harass lewis over his jewelry (while others get to drive with their wedding rings on!) and obsess over the drivers' underwear. bet este felt real relieved that he might've been in a 51g crash but hey at least his fuckin underwear was fireproof and he had no jewelry on!

I got one of those toys with a heartbeat for our new puppy to make her feel safe and decided to see how a simple heartbeat box inside of a stuffed dog really makes you feel more secure and I am not disappointed if anything I may have to buy another so the puppy can have one too.

I wonder if Kusuo can’t sleep sometimes at home because he feels unsafe and watched.
So I wonder if whenever Aren or Nendo are cooking he falls asleep in the kitchen because he feels safe and it’s warm.
He’d wake up if touched 100% but I think if he’s sleepy enough he’ll let them carry him off to the couch or their bed.

I've talked before about how I think Jgy's specific attitude to defending his actions comes less from a genuine conviction that he's in the right or holds no responsibility and more from a knowledge that any punishment he'd be given would be more because of who his mother was than anything he actually did, and a person with more power of a "cleaner" background wouldn't be punished the same way. Why accept "consequences" for his actions when that's just a smokescreen for what people really want to punish him for. Daring to stand before them instead of knowing his place.
And if I do envision a socratic dialogue with an imaginary nie mingjue in my head, a counterpoint might be that, well yeah at first, sure. But there's a point where punishment doesn't get worse than, y'know, death. And surely at some point in canon jgy passes the threshold where, even if he wasn't the son of a sex worker, he would... "deserve to die" isn't right here because I personally don't believe in the death penalty but basically that, within the moral framework of the world of mdzs where the death penalty is universally accepted, characters would, regadless of his background, rationally agree that the just punishment was death. The moment jgy crosses this threshold, then- and I have no interest in debating when this would be- it wouldn't matter that in reality his punishment was really for something else, because it'd be virtually the same as the "just" consequences of his actions.
And what I like is that the story FORCES you to ask that question, to entertain that argument, and perhaps see the flaws in it. Because it expicitly kills jgy for something he didn't do. Huaisang couldn't have said anything, and jgy would still have been taken prisoner, and the cultivation world would still have demanded his head. He'd have been tried for his crimes and executed. The story could have done that, and everything i said above would still have been true, but you could very easily wash your hands of it and say that justice was served.
Instead Huaisang lies, and Jin Guangyao is killed for something he never did. And the story asks: does that change things? Does it matter, that he died for something he didn't do when all of his actual actions were already enough to doom him? And if it does, what else does that change? Because that has always been the case. That was always going to be the case.

Okay i have yet to see a post about this that isnt filled with ppl being Annoying as Fuck on it, but,
theyve found wreckage of the submersible, it imploded (thank god, thats better than a drawn out suffocation over the course of several days, implosion means it was pretty much instantaneous) and the us navy have revealed they heard a weird sound on sunday from about where communication with the sub was lost, that was probably the sound of the implosion, [implied that they didnt say anything cos they didnt want to jump to conclusions without evidence of a wreckage, if there was a chance they were still alive.] no idea what the banging sounds were.
I do hope rescue efforts are extended to the migrants off the coast of greece, and am angry and horrified at their mistreatment, and that the media clearly cares less for their fates than that of the billionaires on the sub.
also, while i have you here,
The difference between a submersible and a submarine is not that one is safer. The titan was a submersible that was unsafe, but that is not because it was a submersible.
A submarine (or sub) is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater.
A submersible is a watercraft designed to operate underwater, usually supported by a nearby surface vessel, platform, shore team or sometimes a larger submarine.
submarines generally dont go as deep as our deepest submersibles, but some can be down there for months at a time bc it is like. a self sufficient Ship. not all submersibles can go crazy deep, but to my knowledge, the only crewed vessels that can go that deep, are submersibles. (Alvin, deepsea challenger, limiting factor, trieste, fendouzhe or "striver").
#toy txt post#titan submersible#if ppl start being annoying on this post. ill turn off reblogs and block all of you. make your own post.#reblog the other ones where people are already being annoying#yes i hate billionaires. but im glad it was a quick death. it was a horrific situation. hope those migrants are given support and help.#i hope oceangate is fined to hell and back and bankrupted and never gets to put anyone in any sort of vehicle ever again#especially not in the ocean. im a little glad that ceo is dead in his own stupid sub im just frustrated he was able to take other ppl with#him. the fact that he was able to operate that unregulated non safety standard meeting ass vehicle and charge people money to ride in it is#fucking insane and unconcioable however you spell that#and now i need to go shower real quick and try to get like. a little over 3hrs of sleep. which will suck but i did accidentally nap for#like? 2 hrs already so it doesnt suck as bad as it could. goodnight please dont be stupid on this post please please please#if you have a hot take on the situation im begging you to hot take it Some Where Else! thank you! good bye#im not gonna bother linking shit feel free to fact check just fuckin. google titan submersible. James Cameron is tossing his 2 cents in now#saw 2 separate articles on that already. thats fine i guess he has been down there in safer vehicles so i guess he can shit talk how unsafe#it is. anyway. saw someone in the comments of a post say it was a submersible bc it was too unsafe to be a submarine and i wanted to start#screaming. thats not what those fucking words mean! at all! god!#irl death#idk what else to tag#behave. bye

It's a video game. You don't have to agree with J. K. Rowling, but a video game is not going to hurt you. Let people enjoy things.
Antisemitic hatecrimes are steadily rising. I don't know how it is in your country, but in mine, democracy is crumbling and descent into fascism has already begun. Anti-Jewish ideology is becoming more and more normalised in western society, and whilst that's due in part to the persistant neonazi presence, it's also thanks to the subtle, insidious nods to it in media for mass audiences to passively consume.
As a Jewish woman, I have a vested interest in not being scapegoated and dehumanised, because I'm sure you can recall the last time that came to a head. The very same antisemitic imagery that H/ogwarts L/egacy presents, of greedy, scheming, hooked nosed creatures who seek to bring death to innocent pureblood children, was immensely popular in Germany in the lead-up to the holocaust. And here it is, cropping up again! I can't speak for all Jews, but I for one am terrified for what the future might bring.
I'm so sorry that me being vocal about this obvious antisemitic analogy is of mild irritation to you. It must be such an inconvenience every time you have to listen to whiny, annoying Jews like me, begging you to show solidarity with our plight. You guys are real the victims here, you're so right!
H/ogwarts L/egacy is a kill-the-Jew simulator. If you still don't understand how that is the case, I'm happy to explain it to you again, but in the mean time, I will not be apologising for my stance on this. I am sick and tired of seeing goyim wallowing in self-pity over this issue right now. You claim to be allies to the Jewish community but you can't even boycott a fucking video game.
TLDR: Yes, a video game can hurt me. Fuck off.

Actually it's hilarious that someone said that me being wary of xtians was "bigot logic" because it's their bigotry and abusive doctrine that makes me and so many other people feel unsafe in the first place
